Difficult teacher, she cares about students, expects a lot out of them, she is very challenging, but goes over the material in depth, if you plan to major in psychology she would be a good teacher otherwise I hear Ms. Andrews is easier.

Human sexuality is not an easy course when taught by Dr. Matsushita. It does not satisfy UC requirements either! Don't take this one expecting a "fun class", because it is anything but fun. Only take this if you absolutely need the course for yo

She is a wonderful teacher. I could never understand how people could fail her class. Take notes and follow her study guides and you can't go wrong. She is someone you can go to no matter what the problem is. I respect her and wish there were more teachers like her.

This instructor is one of the few quality instructors at hartnell. Very to the point about what she expects. This teacher Isn't on a crusade to fail people like Stoddard, Sword, Melendez, De Jose Riley and Hataway. Dr. Matsushta is awsome!! I put her in the top 3 instructors at Hartnell.

I took this class in Fall 1997 which was the first semester of my freshman year. I had no interest in the subject before taking this class with Dr. Matsushita-Arao. I now have a Master's degree in Psychology. She is awesome!

Quite honestly the best instructor i've ever had the pleasure of meeting and learning from. Trust me, you should all take her classes, it will help in the long run.

Wow, she's awesome! Fun, energetic, exciting. My favorite class of all time. She's a fire cracker and SO amazing. She also helped me with personal issues when I came during office hours, never quits. Caring, trustworthy, I learned a lot about myself and feel like I could go to her in the future. Take her class! Not hard, but there is work involved.

She makes you work hard but if you do, you'll get a lot out of the class.

You will learn so much from this class. She has an outline of everything you need to know for the test. Just take one of her classes!

I'm usually shy in class but talked in class and i'm glad i did. make sure you do your hw though. she's very helpful and willing to help. the tests are pretty easy if you do your hw. plus you can review old tests before the final.

Dr. Arao has an excellent sense of humor and gives interesting lectures. She's a bit more strict than other teachers though, so just make sure you get your work on time and don't screw up. Also, good attendance and staying on top of the material is absolutely essential.

She is a very good teacher. She is very helpful and very organized I highly recommend to take her class. I wish I could have taken her Human Sexuality class but it doesn't fit in my schedule.

She is a great teacher! She gives you the possible essay questions for the exams. And she gives you time to review your past midterms, that's included in the finals.

She is very helpful i took her for two psychology classes. She makes every lecture interesting, attendance is mandatory. If you miss one lecture you fall behind a lot. But other than that taking good notes will be very helpful.

She's an AMAZING teacher and by far my FAVORITE in my whole college & high school career. She makes class so fun and interesting, especially when it's at 8am! Dr.Yoshiko gives study guides & all the content are ALWAYS on the tests. I highly recommend her!

Class is never boring, everything is straight forward, homework is FUN, nothing boring! Even if we have to read, reading is at your own pace. Tests, are laid out through a review sheet. Easily one of, if not the single best teacher I have ever had across my education. She really knows how to keep the classroom engaging while presenting everyone with information. And despite the information being very complex, she manages to make it very approachable.

One of the best teachers i ever had. Love love love her class. She's so nice and very understanding. It's important to communicate with her. Try not to miss class because you will be lost when you go back. Attendance is important. as long as you go to class and do homework, you should be able to pass.

Make sure you go to class everyday or you will be lost when you get back. Do the extra credit!! It will really help your grade. She is the best professor at Hartnell, its one of the classes you look forward to. She will help you whenever you need it and is clear with what she expects. I'll be taking her other two classes as well!! :)

One of the best pointers Dr. Yoshiko gave to us was to always do the essay questions first before the multiple choice on the exams. I do this for all my classes now! This woman has some valuable advise to give so make sure to go to class everyday, take great notes and have confidence in yourself.

I love Dr. Yoshiko! She is beyond amazing and I learned so much in Abnormal Psychology. I was double majoring in Nursing and Psychology, but after having her as a Psy prof, I switched over to Psychology major. She is the greatest professor ever. She is very organized and she will tell u exactly what will be on the EXAM but you need to study hard her test aren't easy but if you study, her study guides you will pass! Trust me I wasn't a study person but for her class I studied my butt off and I came out with an A in her class. Take her! You won't regret it

Yoshiko is an amazing teacher, I took Psychology 15 with her and it was by far an amazing class. She is there for you when needed, she offers extra credit, and her lectures will not put you to sleep but rather will have you laughing throughout the entire class. We did have to do a book report but she makes it extremely easy and simple to do.

Super clear, super organized it's easy to understand. you do read the chapters on your own time as HW. Aside from that other HW she assigns is things that will actually help. She's so organized you can see agendas months before so you know what you going to do that day/what you missed. 5 outta 5.

Dr. Yoshiko is AMAZING!!! I took her class early in the morning and I was NEVER falling asleep in that class. She is super interactive. Her exams are not easy! Not enough tags to say how amazing she is!!! She is very funny and makes learning exciting! Taking Human Sexuality with her was the best choice i've made. There is a book report which is worth about a whole letter grade, but you have a lot of time to work on it. Tests are a little hard but if you put a decent amount of time to study you'll be fine.

The best psy teacher I ever had. I took Dr. Yoshiko for psy 2,15 &22 which made me want to get more involved with the psy field. She has a big heart because she can also become a supporter in your personal life. She makes you understand psychology perfectly. Test may be complicated because test are applying the information not to memorize terms.

Many can view that Psychology can be boring, but she does give presentations and make you take notes, but she does it in a way that isnt boring.

Loved her and the class. She teaches very clearly and goes really into depth with her lectures. Everything on the mid term and final is in her lectures, so make sure you show up or get notes from classmates. I would definitely take another psychology class by her just because of the way she makes it fun and easy to learn.

I'm almost done w/ the class & I have been thoroughly pleased w/ everything I have learned. This semester was personally a difficult one as I had 2 life changing events occur. Dr. Yoshiko was very understanding. Keep the lines of communication open w/ her. I managed to stay on top as Dr. Yoshiko has an agenda, study guide and is very organized.

Professor was extremely good. She was precise with criteria and was always there to help. Very interesting during lectures and never once made me sleepy.

Great professor. If you follow the study guide that she provides, then you will not have any trouble when it comes to exams. I would recommend staying on top of homework and receiving full credit. It may appear that homework is not crucial as it appears the credit is a couple points. But, that can quickly add up. I plan on taking another class.

The class is an easy A as long as you put in effort to understand the concepts and review the study guide well. There is one group project and some minimal participation in class depending on if you get called on or not. There are some homework assignments with strict due dates. Dr. Yoshiko is willing to help and has a unique style of teaching.

Amazing class I intend on taking more of her classes in the future. She assigns a fair amount of work and has great lectures. She also gives a syllabus showing the plan for the class and what we will be learning each day.

GREAT TEACHER!!! I am not a good test taker. I failed every test and I still passed. She assigns a lot of EASY homework every week. 1-2 assignments a week. TAKE HER IF YOU CAN/HAVE TO. Amazing professor, you would regret not taking her. Very well taught, and you could tell she enjoys what she teaches. Textbook is mandatory but she does send one out for on canvas so wait to purchase any textbook before class. Assignments are pretty straight forward; use her study guides, they are HELPFUL on exams.

She is the best teacher ever. She gives a study guide, and there is NEVER a test question that is not on the guide. There are two homeworks a week that take 45min each and you have to write a 300-word response. It is clear what you have to learn, but you need to do the work and attend lectures on time.
