He made the tests tough and not resebling the material covered. The toughest multiple choice I've ever had on an exam!

the hardest marker of all time, I got the answer right and I went to his office to get my mark back and he said "NO" b/c he hates people to challenge his marking b/c he is a robot and he never make mistakes in his life and he expect everyone to get 100% in every single stuff since he said it in the class all the time "I tought you everything"

well, what can i say, very IRRESPONSIBLE! 2 sections with 35-45% averages on the midterm, doesnt even do an exam review (decided to go away on that day and gave a substitution that had NOTHING about the exam, and its material!)

Outside of class - great guy. Inside the classroom hes an ****. Best mark is usually a b+ in the class, half of the class fails, not kidding, no exam review and he's not very friendly at all.

I've never seen such a professor like him. One of very stupid things is he never wants to receive student Email. And the reason is he said he cannot distinguish which one comes from student and which one is juck mail. How stupid he is! And He says NOTHING about final exam and he is too abnormal. Maybe he just enjoys making everyone failed!

this guy is by far the worst prof I have seen in my life. Not sure why he is a prof. he will deduct mark just because he has the authority to do so. He actually used the phrase "Don't do anything stupid in my class", and this was a regular day...nothing special going on. He is rude couldn't care less about students. AVOID HIM, if you can...

In management point of view, he is very good at de-motivating people. His course also doesn't transfer significant amount of information to students. Instead of, his cause like brain wash class, everything must follow his protocol (which he will not tell to newly enrolled students as well).

Younes is harsh in grading and his attitude. I did not find him as clear as others claim him to be. He was constantly running out of time and he was explaining everything too fast to be comprehensible. Also, his labs were waste of time. He would make you stay until the very last minute of the class, ignoring people who need to catch their buses.

Clear lectures. He is very rude and not approachable. Extremely hard marker. Seems to have made improvements compared to the past. Dont do optional assignments since majority fail it. Avoid him if you can and take it in the summer.

Very difficult marker. Does not communicate online. Course is based off a textbook from 15 years ago. Avoid this prof if you can. If u cant record lectures and write good notes from every lecture

Take it in the summer if you can. If you cant do that record the lectures since he rushes through material sometimes. Make sure to have detailed notes as lecture content is not all on the powerpoint. Not as rude as previous years but still a terrible marker. Even if his definitions are outdated make sure that the wording is exactly the same.

I am a B average student but this guy seriously is the hardest market I have ever had. He's very tough you have know to virtually memorize the lectures if you want to get a good great in this class. I got a D+ and had to work my butt off to get that. All my other ITEC courses I got B or B+

Good lecturer but a terrible marker. Many profs look at where they can give you the marks in your answers but this prof focuses on where he can deduct marks for you. This is not a hard course but he seems set in trying to fail a large percentage of the class each term, presumably so that he still has students to teach in his next class. Avoid him!

Younes does not recognize his students. He complains about not paying attention but doesnt pay any attention to his students. When you answer a question incorrectly, he will slap you down with a no without explaining why. He wont acknowledge correct answers and will go on and explain how nobody pays attention. Worst prof I've had at York.

This professor is probably the worst one I've taken. He marks harshly, refuses to explain wrong answers and worst of all, bans phone usage in his classes. His lectures are just him saying what was already in the slides but he adds some unclear expository which he refuses to simplify. His tests were +2 right, 0 if blank and -1 for wrong answers.

Prof asks you to answer a sample question. You answer the question wrong asks why you're wasting his time for getting the answer wrong. Will over react and waste time on why we're wasting his time (loops). In the end there won't be an answer to the sample question and will be on your test. Extremely hard tests but decent lectures.

He can't finish a lecture in one lesson, you can't get answers to questions from him, he will yell at you instead. The questions on the midterm and final exams are very difficult, resulting in a very low average score for the whole class. I did not score more than 50% on both exams.

He needs to work on his handwriting skill. + not good for your mental health(especially if you have some type of anxiety, his voice pitch will make it worse).

Doesn't give an email so students can't talk to him. Doesn't record lectures so you can't review it. (Imagine being trapped in another countrie because of covid-19) Eclass goes down? Good luck, you're going to keep the 0% on the midterm. "You should've known better" - in his own words. Want the slides to study for an exam? Nope, too bad.

The first thing you'll notice about Youness is his hostility towards you for having the sheer audacity to take his (mandatory) course. His exams are the most difficult I've ever had in university, this guy made discrete math look easy. If you have him for 3210 switch ASAP. If 4030 is a required course for you then all I can say is good luck

Worst prof I've ever had. If you want to learn about the latest tech or the future of IT, sorry he's stuck in the past. All he thinks about is how to give you bad grades for stupid minor details. He'd be a good history teacher though.

He does not even give you his emails, very disrespectful, does not answer questions. He gave us 40 minutes to do 40 questions for a 40% midterm, most people failed. He designs exams for students to fail. He is the worst professor I have encountered. Lectures are hard to understand and he scribbles on his tablet. Exams are vague and very unfair.

PLEASE IF YOU LIKE YOUR SANITY AND YOUR GPA, DO NOT TAKE YOUNES. He will make sure you fail. only one person passed the midterm. Even after his ridiculous curve, more than half the class failed. he will not teach anything useful and the tests are the hardest and most unfair. It is not worth it. I am telling you, you will fail with studying.

Some REAL comments here with Younes in ITEC4030&ITEC3210. 3210 with Younes is not too difficult as long as you read his notes and be serious with the contents he mentioned YOU CAN GET A HIGH MARK. For 4030, if this course is not mandatory for you, pls skip it! This is a course not match with ur effort at all! I get a C,which is the lowest mark EVER

Younes Benslimane is one of the hardest professors for ITEC3210. I do not recommend taking him as a prof. He words the questions in a werid way like the questions would be multiple choice and the answers would be a,b,c,d or a and b, b and c, or abcd. Questions are worded in a way for you to doubt yourself. I highly recommend not to take him at all!

Terrible professor, insults students when they ask questions. Sometimes slams the table and gets angry a lot. Has too many standards you need to meet to get a good grade so try to avoid him.

His material is quite outdated. The guy is a bit of a psychopath so I would try to ignore his behavior and focus on getting through the class.

The worst prof I have ever seen in ITEC, insult students for using the bathroom and asking questions during the lecture, 0 tolerance for any of the mistakes you have made during the project and exam. Worst professor I have encountered in the entire ITEC department and my entire time at YorkU. His midterms are extremely hard with tough questions and his assignments are worse. The first assignment had a class average of 14% and the second assignment had a average of 44.6%. Even after curving the final marks nobody got an A.

Younes is infamous in the ITEC department for a reason, he does not post lab or assignment answers, he is an extremely tough marker and creates all his examination questions with the purpose of doubting yourself. 4030's course content itself is not that hard. My advice is to study REALLY hard for the midterm and exam, as he bell curves both.

This professor blatantly allowed students to cheat on his midterm which is ridiculous. On top of that, his course content is outdated. Avoid him at all costs. Ignore some of the NPC reviews in here, he shouldn't be teaching.

Rude and impolite professor, not respectful to students. always being impatient when students ask questions, sometimes blaming students loudly and discouraging students from asking further questions. Asking more questions, he will be angry. The class vibe is quite intense, somber and even suffocating!

The exams are very difficult, and a lot of content is not in the class slides, you need to read the textbook and fully understand all the knowledge, otherwise, the content in class is not enough to cope with the exams. The exam is very disgusting, a lot of ambiguous answers. No solutions to asg and exams, so students cannot better study and prepare

Don't get me wrong as he can actually teach and explain well, but he's a problem when it comes to assessments. I took 2 courses with him at york (3210 and 4030) and the same problems persisted in both. Rude, impatient and assessments straight outta the devils gates. Class averages are significantly low, and even if you spend hours studying its hard

Before you take his class, play Elden Ring on the hardest difficulty and study every boss's patterns until you master them all as he is the final boss for ITEC and similarly you don't choose to take this man you are forced to. Good luck.

Rude to students who ask questions, assignment grading is ridiculous, only redeeming thing about his tests are that they're MCQ. Study the text book, try to retain whatever he says in his lectures, go to the labs, and don't be discouraged if you do bad on the first assignment, his grading is ridiculous. Midterm, final and assignments were difficult. He is extremely hard on his students do a lot of studying on your own.

ITEC 4030 was the hardest course I have ever taken at York. Younes can once in a while be helpful, but most of the time he is very rude to his students. I once saw him throwing my friend's MT paper for asking a question about his diagram. He is literally the final boss of ITEC. W22 Marks: MT avg - 57%, A1 avg - 25%, A2 avg - 57%, Final avg - 44%

This course and professor are the reasons I don't look both ways when I cross the street. The class is draining, exams make you doubt yourself, and the professor is very strict. Assignments are done in groups and my group was insufferable. GG idek what to say anymore.
