Makes class interesting but he has a deep accent. So, it's hard to understand what he says. My fondest memory was when we had to bring a dish from our country to class for Thanksgiving day.

Great professor, really intelligent, and completely adorable. You'll watch amazing documentaries and learn a lot from his lectures. He's also really cool and open-minded and expects you to basically take notes throughout the course, study, and do all of your assignments.

SSA101 Cultural anthropology... Absolutely AMAZING professor. He is definitely the FUNNIEST professor you will ever have. Very down to earth guy, understanding, and VERY fun person. If you want an A, no need to listen to his lectures. Just study the textbook, study online companion site and take notes and you will get A.

He is an extremely easy professor, the tests are based on his notes and your grades will be based on notes you take from educational anthropology videos as well. My only complaint was his heavy accent!

Really easy professor. He doesn't like people who are late but other than that he's really easy going. His tests are straight from his notes. Also during the movies I think he grades the movie notes on quantity not quality. Basically give yourself carpal tunnel. I would never even watch the movie, just take as many notes as possible. Easy A!!!!

Amazing professor! Managed to keep sociology class entertaining all semester. Very fair grader. Also has fun projects. Just show up and copy all the notes. Never gave us hw, test were very fair. Despite his accent he is hilarious. After a week you won't even notice the accent. Get him if you can!

This guy is too sweet and humble. He is great. When I firs saw him I was like WTH? but later on my first impression changed. He is a great professor. I took his Summer Session and this was my first time in a class in over 9 years. I'm glad it was with him. He does have an accent but he cares about his students. Respect him, don't talk/interrupt him when he is in the middle of a lecture. Take lots of film notes and you will do well. I will take his SSA 101 next term.

He was animated, comedic when he sensed his lectures were long, and very passionate about anthropology. I haven't had the luck of sitting in many classes where the professor was actively enjoying teaching, and it was a refreshing change.

This professor was the inspiration for me to study Anthropology in my B.A. degree. I am still thinking about a Master's in this field because of him. He inspired me with his enthusiasm, humor and mastery of the subject. I also appreciated his efforts to organize a multi-cultural food fest at the end of the semester. Take his class!

off the bat he lets you know he has an accent, he relies heavily on notes & you taking them. which is fine IMO. bring your ipad or take pictures! You will watch a short films weekly and take notes. Easy grader! Just take some good notes during the films that he shows to the class once a week, study the prep. quizzes and you'll get an A. GREAT professor. I recommend you take. Lectures are fun and interesting. Movie every week. 3 exams(60%). 1 paper(20%). Weekly movie summary(20%). Exam questions come from the practice questions he gives so study those. Perfect attendance gets a grade bump.

Very easy class. Divides class into lectures and films. No homework except 2 responses to films. Attendance mandatory bc you will be graded on your film notes. Tells you exactly what will be on the midterm and final with review questions. Study his notes, memorize and you will get an A

TAKE THIS CLASS!! If you don't, you will regret it. He requires to do a paper but you have so many topics to choose from so there is no reason why you would have a problem. His exams are super easy; READ the notes from class!

He gives a very detailed review sheet of exams weeks before so just study that and you will FOR SURE get an A. I recommend this professor.

I love Professor Seo 'cause he makes me happy. He is really caring every students and all the tests are not difficult. He posts online-review two weeks before the exam. If you just study on review sheet, you will absolutely do well on the exam and get A. Also, You have to do one project paper among many topics. Highly recommend.

He will give you 150 REVIEW qsn for mid term and 150 REVIEW qsn for the final. Jst study 150+150300 review qsn for the whole semester and you will get 100% score. Midterm and final consists of 50 multiple choice qsn, which is copy and paste from the review. You don't need to even open the text book. Remember don't be late and try to avoid absence.

You can tell this professor loves what he teaches. He understands majority of students have work and will give extra credit work to get a higher grade in class. I would love to take this professor again. It is the only class I actually learned and had fun at.

Great professor, has an accent but you will get used to it quickly. Gives opportunity for extra credit. Very clear grading criteria and will post grades in a reasonable amount of time. Work is not stressful but you will need to put in some work but a pretty good professor overall.

I don't usually rate professors, but this is an exemption. He is a very well respected professor. He makes you understand while adding humor. He gives small papers to write, but fairly easy. Just attend class, and do your work!

It is my second time to take his class and I like his clear instructions for the students to get an A. The interesting topics are from the textbook but the textbook is not a must because there are review questions before the exams. There are video notes for extra credit every class. He has an accent but overall he is a wonderful teacher.

Good professor but if you are taking SSN 187 with him, make sure u DONT take it in the short session. It is hectic and he will give a lot of work. If it's a twelve week session i'm sure the work load would be much lighter and easier on you.

Prof. Seo's lectures are more of a listen and take notes rather than a participation matters lecture. He always provides a review sheet before each exam and if you take the time to study the review sheet then you are sure to do good on the exam! You watch a video every class & take notes of it, study the PowerPoint slides, memorize the test questions and youll pass. He's a very good professor, he knows his subject and really wants all of his students to learn. Don't ask questions that you already know the answer to, because he will get annoyed and at one point I got annoyed because people are very irresponsible. Just look at your syllabus and do the work and you will pass with an A.

Whoa, Im shocked by some of my classmates that gave Prof. Young-min a bad review. He's a great professor who gives you endless opportunities to do or re-do your assignments. It may seem a bit overwhelming at first but he allows you to go back to review class content. But, he absolute hates dumb questions or having to repeat himself so pay attention

The professor made us do in class work which was good . All we had to focus on was the exams which is something you can't get away with . His accent is a little to understand so he goes slowly this way you can understand him. Im so happy that i picked as my professor. 100 percent take this class again.

You basically do the homework in class, and the assignments are so simple- though he actually is pretty strict with the responses, he expects some thoughtfulness. But otherwise he's really empathetic of the students and with the little time you spend with him wants to respect you, make you laugh, and make sure you're okay as a student.

If you do the work you will be fine. Also he let it slide when I had E coli and couldn't come to school(yes I had a doctor's note, he was less annoying about it than most professors here though.) so extra points for that. 5/5, cool guy.

All work is done in class unless you're not really a fast writer but then it can be done for homework. Long lectures but not as bad just could've been broken down. He gives reviews a week before exams and the material covers them. Even some extra credit I got over 100 in his class. Definitely take him!

He cares abt the people. He talks A LOT but overall great. He gives us plenty of time to finish everything in class, and deadlines are days away. He genuinely cares abt what he teaches. He's super sweet and understanding. He was a little hard to understand sometimes with his accent but nothing crazy.

He wants everyone to get an A in his class. Once you complete all of the in class work you will pass. There are 3 quizzes and a final in total, very easy.

This professor is adorable! His enthusiasm for sociology is simply contagious. Very clear grading criteria, was understanding and caring for his students and taking his class made me consider pursuing sociology as a minor or double major. I'm suprised at the bad ratings I see for Prof. Seo. His class is fun, he engages with students and throughout the semester, not once did I see him getting angry. The class is easy as well as the work. The only bad trait I would say he has is not replying to emails on time. He takes a while to reply to student's emails but he replies.

Always HAPPY! Hilarious and generous professor. He is so sweet and caring too; very supportive and curious to know if you are feeling okay, he wants you to be happy. The class was fun to learn in, and easy to pass. There are three quizzes and finals (which are the three quizzes combined). He gives answers for quizzes, but still, you learn a lot.

If you're thinking about taking Urban Sociology with harder classes I'd recommend it. Simple grader & if you do well enough you may not have to take the final. Also cares about his students and is very interactive with his learning. Quizzes and tests are also very straight forward

Great introduction to college expectations; forgiving/polite (surprising for a late-night class). Very passionate about anthropology and also eccentric. You know the dates for exams and quizzes from day one. He has a very thick accent, but it doesn't interfere with lectures.
