Personally I liked her and thought she was a sweet lady, some think she is hard to understand. But you can tell she wants you to learn and understand the material.

Ditto above. Sweet woman, not a bad teacher, sometimes a little hard to understand. But if you're trying to understand, you will. Don't take it looking for an easy A.

She's a great person and teacher. She knows her math! Very genuine and you can tell that she really wants you to learn. Exams are straight forward and fair if you have done/understand the homework. The most patient teacher I know, she's one of a kind.

if u do ur hw by yourself, u will be doing well on ur FINAL. She will give u review before final. Don't miss her class because sometimes she gives class quiz. It's not really quiz,though because we can work together and ask her. She will give u extra points if u do your quiz,and explain it to class.not easy to get A.if u get A, it's really an "A"

She is the BEST and SMART math teacher that i ever met...Whenever you can't understand, just go to her and she will explain it to u 'til you get it. In fact her tests & quizs are not that hard, she mostly pull out the questions from your hw ex.. So don't be lazy in her class, just do all the hw and you will do well in the tests. Easy A/B! Take her!

she missed the first 2 weeks of the summer session and it took her the whole semester to catch up with grading. the students had no idea where they stood in the class.

Asian teacher. Will be helpful. Is helpful. Works are a little bit harder. Lots of hwk but hey! its math.! gotta practise. If you are just looking to pass and just to play around, then i will strongly suggest you not to take her.

She is so nice! I love her! But sometimes she is too nice that students take advantages of her. She is clear with her lecture, and if you have question she always explain it. On the other hand, if you are not good at math, you should'nt take her class. She is very fast with the lecture and a lot of homework!

Even though her tests are hard she let you retake them. Lots of extra credit opportunities and she is always willing to help you. Be nice to her and you'll get your A. Have to do your homework though. plus There's group exam!!!

Good teaching skils! Very dear, nice and helpful. Detailed notes and explainations. Very straight forward. Always know what to expect in tests(from hw problems & notes).10% hw 60%tests, 30% final. Definitely A if you work hard and focus on her lecturue.

Whatever you put into this class is exactly what you will get out of it. He motivates students and is there to help everyone, but it's not up to him to learn it for you.

easy exams, little homework, i learned a lot from her and finally i got a in spring 2009. if you are chinese, she is the best choice for you. believe me.

She expects you to learn the material as if you were going to major in statistics. She's tough but worth taking her class if you are in it to learn.She's always willing to help outside of class.If you want an easy class, take it now!

I really do not understand how bad comments about Dr.Chang are coming from. She is very thorough , detailed, and professional prof for math . I took math 5b with her in Fall 2009. It is a great atmosphere in the class. we know math 5b is a hard course, but with dr.change it is very enjoyable class. I learn a lot and feel ready to move on to 5c. :)

Just to clear up the confusion about typo on the prof Chang. There is only ONE dr.CHANG in PCC. She teaches the materials pretty well and cares about her students as if they are her children, which is very rare in most of profs nowadays. Tests are fairly manageable and practice makes perfect in 5b. thanks a lot, dr.chang. YOU ROCK =].

first i was confused about Professor Chang b/c there is two profs with Chang Y on the site. dont get confused by that. It's the same professor. Somebody created another one for dr. Chang. 5b might sound hard and heavy. Yes, it is heavy in terms of hw loads, but tests are very fair and reasonable if you understand your hws and concepts.AWESOME class

Dr. Chang is very nice. I don't understand why Dr. Chang's class was the last class left when I got my registration time. Only a very few people dropped and the rest earned good greades while many dropped in other 5b classes. This class might be a hidden treasure. Dr. Chang explains things clearly and tests are okay, not too hard nor easy. COOL!

Dr.Chang understands her students and their learning ability so so well. She is never meant to trick her students on the tests but work on ur test-taking skill and speed. U need to work efficiently within the time frame sometimes. be patient with getting your tests back too. Overall if you do what you are supposed to, an A is pretty much guranteed

So dont be scared by ppls saying that 5b is the hardest math course in math series from 5A to 55. I don't think it is true because if you have solid foundation from 5A, you should do fine in 5b. Just work harder than in 5A bcos 5b needs lots of practice. Plus Dr.Chang makes possible to learn and succeed in math 5b. She is one of a kind professor :)

First off, if you are LAZY, do NOT take this class. She will stack on the homework. She is very nice but will call on your name is she knows you. She really enjoys teaching and this class will really help u in 131, as long as you put in the effort. If you're taking her in an intersession, do NOT miss a day, it will hurt you if you have a hard time with math. Good teacher and does her job. But beware lazy people. NOT an easy A

Excellent teacher. enough said! You will definitely learn and at the same time, you will feel that to get an A or B in her class is doable and possible. So you will work harder and harder. at the end, you will get what u wanted and come to understand hard works paid off unless some other classes pouring your effort(sand) into water.

So if you are a type of serious learner who want to learn and feel great about your performance in calc class, this might NOT be a class for you. Just because she seems very disorganized, you might feel a little concerned and worried about where you are standing in the class throughout the semester. Not a very hard class at all.

She's not bad at all! Those people who think she's hard are purely because they don't want to study but expect a good grade without working for it. As long as you keep up with the homework and review all the exams, you will be fine! Take her for 5b! Highly recommended!

Dr. Chang is very considerate and very reasonable. You will get what you deserve if you work hard. I get a A for doing that. You can do it too!Make sure do all your HW and talk to her about your concern. She really listens!

Dr. Chang is a very nice lady but she is really disorganized. She would say the homework is due one day and she would collect it a different day and her power point/poster projects and presentation were a waste of time.

Took Mathpath 125/131 class. Did poorly and thus, progressed slowly in my HS math that some topics covered in this class were entirely new. Initially, I worried about my performance & how I would cope, but instead Dr. C got me to really like math. She clarified my past cobwebs, very detailed in explanations, helpful w/ q's. Lots hw, but you learn.

MP 125/131. Gives a lot of homework (online and bookwork), but they are there to supplement your learning in classroom. I did almost all the work and I didn't mind because it really helped my learning. Also did self studying. If you like being spoon-fed, not a class for you. Cares a lot for her students, put effort and she'll push you to succeed.

Gives about 6 tests, drops one. Allows make up. I agree about redundancy of ppt's and posters, but they're for extra credit anyway. Actually very systematic & organized in her way of teaching. If you study, you can form links as to why she covers ch.3 then jumps to ch.8. She's inspiring & funny. Always happy. Not boring. Got an A. Recommended.

I love Dr. Chang! She emphasizes the conceptual side of math, which is important for your understanding. Very clear explanations and work. I highly recommend taking her for Calculus.

Superb teacher that is extremely enthusiastic when teaching. If you do your homework and pay attention in class, you'll love this class. She spends a bunch of time individually helping students - something very difficult to find in other classrooms.

I like her ,though i had a hard time for the beginning. After I catch up her class, it became my easiest class. Many Opportunites to pass the class. If you do bad on the test, you still can make up it. I will take her class again.

Dr. Chang is a patient and understanding professor. The course workload includes around 9 assignments per week. Assignments are typically available from Wednesdays, allowing one week for completion and submission.

Since the class is online, there is a presentation for the Python part (lasts 30 minutes) of the exams. She gave us the opportunity to make up for exams and assignments to get a better score. If you have any questions or concerns, you can ask her before starting your presentation. So Zoom's time length will depend on how many questions you have.

Dr. Chang offered us the chance to make up for any missed assignments or exams. Despite assigning a lot of homework, it proved immensely beneficial for our exams. The tests were based solely on the lectures, without any tricky questions. She dedicated ample time during office hours via Zoom to address all of our inquiries. Highly recommend.

Highly recommended. She gives the score is not hard if you follow the instructions, you will get the full mark. She spends more time via Zoom because she cares about her students and is willing to help them understand concepts. The quiz is about 5 questions, just watch the video and answer, it's also very easy. Easy exam, can make up.

I highly recommend her classes. She is incredibly kind. She breaks assignments down into smaller portions for easier completion and scoring. The quizzes have three attempts and consist of short videos and no more than five multiple-choice questions. I only had to submit 4 assignments over several weeks, which didn't take much time.
