TERRIBLE teacher!! Once you get past the accent you realize that she has no idea what she is talking about! Stick with the american names when choosing classes!!

possibly one of the worst teachers i have ever had

I didn't have her this semester....but last semester was killer!!! She is the WORST teacher in IUP history....I kid you not. AVOID her at ALL costs!!!!! Please save your sanity.

She is the WORST prof. here. She needs to understand how to speak English. Her grading sucks ass, exams are worse. It'd be best if she went back to the hole in the ground country that she came from.

She is teaching 6th grade math in a complicated manor. Not a lot of people get A's. I wonder why they keep her around. I don't think they pay her a lot though because I think she only owns one outfit.

She isn't concerned with students learning the material. I believe her exact words were "if you don't get this now, you'll have to teach yourself". Hard to understand. Assigns alot of work and tests are hard.

Biggest jerk ever. Bad prof, it's a intro to linear algebra class, should be easy! She make it harder than upper level class. Don't ever take her. even though you got no choice. DONT TAKE HER!!!

i dropped the class because of her. She doesnt know how to teach. make things hard and comfuse. dont take her. and she is ugly.

Let's put it this way, if I could have given her a -5 in clarity, I would have. As far as I know, she doesn't speak english, she mumbles cantonese. I dropped this class SOLELY because of her. Don't take this prof or any of her classes.

I've never done so poorly in a math class in my whole life. My coun is now 5 quizzes in a rows with F's. I got an A in trig in high school, wtf? I can't even understand what she is saying. I'm loosing my mind.

This is a horrid teacher. The class is next to impossible to follow, and it's a basic course. Avoid this one @ all costs. Not worth your time or money.

If you want a teacher that cares if her students grasp the concept or is there to help and answer question, do not under any circumstances take this class. Because she doesnt know how to teach the concept. Nor does she understand ur questions. but hey, neither could u if u didnt speak english...

She's the worst teacher ever! I went to her office hours and when I couldn't figure out the problem..she laughed at me! Also, in class there's no point in asking questions because she never understands them anyways. Do yourself a favor, pick another professor!

She is a horrible teacher. First you can barely understand what she says and she teaches everything with examples. Makes me wonder if she really knows what she is doing. Do yourself a favor and pick a better teacher!!

Worst prof ever. ...writes notes on the board, doesn't explain them, "Any question?" then continues. Asking questions is pointless as she doesn't understand the question or doesn't answer it clearly. She will laugh at your question! 3hr tests and makes us complete them in 1 1/2 hr if we come early.

this woman needs to be deported. she is horrible! she cannot teach and refuses to help students, just another example of what a fine institution iup is.

i had to withdrawl from this class. i couldn't understand her to save life. i wanted to take the sharpened end of my pensil and stab myself in the eye. avoid at all costs.

So terrible, I didn't listen to the warnings about her but now i have to drop the class because she is such an awful teacher. She is very hard to understand and has no clue how to present and explain the material so that a person who does not understand math very well will understand it. Avoid unless you have a natural understanding of mathematics.

This is one of the worst teachers at this university! She speaks so unclear, she doesn't understand herself. If you're looking to be taught, don't take her. If you already know the material, you will still fail. I have to withdrawl from her class. DO NOT TAKE HER!

Advanced Calc is not a prerequisite for this course but she teaches as if it is. I have no clue what she's talking about & I'm an honor student. She should not be teaching - she's so smart she can't break it down to a level where one might actually learn.

absolute worst math prof ever. Statistics is hard, I understand that, but she doesn't explain anything clearly. If you ask her for help, she usually just gets you more confused. The university should fire her because she just can't teach. Yu-Ju, please, quit your day job!

I will come up with the money to deport this teacher right now! Worst teacher I ever had...EVER! I never missed a class, studied her notes, and still failed her tests.. I had to withdrawl from her "class". She can't speak English and doesn't know how to teach math to someone else...save money and don't take her!

Horrible teacher. Avoid her at all costs. I had to withdrawl from her class. Her tests are real tough, she moves too quickly, and it's very hard to understand her. Even if your good at math, you will do poorly.

If you're good at math you might have a chance, but if you suck you're going to have to work your ass off to even pull off a D. You can't really understand her and even if you miss a homework or anything, even if you have a doctor's excuse she won't accept it. AVOID HER IF YOU CAN!

The material is not hard but she grades like a Nazi!!!! I got A's in all of my high school math classes and understood all of the material in her class but I still struggled. She is not helpful in her office hours either.

So horrible...can not teach, can not speak english and grades so strict. I withdrew from her class after a month, and so did half of the class. Do Not Take, even if you have a high GPA, this class will bring it down.

Please do not take this professor. This is the devil on earth. She will make you angry/mad/confused/suicidal; yes, its that serious. I love math. Calc, Trig. took college classes in highschool. but this lady made math as hard as learning caveman language.

This teacher is TERRIBLE! I asked for help and studied till my eyeballs fell out!!! She can't speak English. I watched my class go from 30 to 8 before I dropped out. A+ kids were getting F's! It was a slaughterhouse. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!!!

She is the absolute worst professor that you can come across. She does not give any feedback on homework or test.. she's no help during office hours. Her test are impossible to past with anything more than a C! She does not care if you don't understand. TERRIBLE STAY AWAY FROM HER IF YOU CAN!

Its absolutely true that this class will bring your GPA DOWN. Even if you understand the material, she grades way too hard. I had this class in HS, knew all the material, but got a C because her tests are impossible.

This teacher is the worst teacher ever!!! I had a class of 30 and half way through the semester it went down to 10. Her English SUCKS you cant understand her!! I now have to take this stupid class over because of her. She will cut off your head if you ask for help! Do not take her class she is by far the worst math teacher in the world.

Horrible first math class of college. Everyone in my class failed. This class is a joke. Do not waste your time and money.

Don't listen to that person below who took her for a 100 course. I am a graduating senior and she was the absolute most horrible teacher I had while I was here. 80% of the class withdrew. DO NOT TAKE.

I love math and put in ten times the amount of work then most students in my class and she still made my life miserable. Like many other people said her test are unfair and her grading system is from another planet. The only plus is she allows you to do test corrections for half credit, but if she actually explained there would be no need.

I have never tried so hard in my life and failed. No matter what i did, tutoring, extra credit, whatever it was, the class was absolutely insurmountable. I could barely understand her and she never explained how she got the answer to the equation. She simply solved the problem on the board and expected you to understand it. never again...

she doesnt respect her students. will not answer questions. after midterms 50% of the class had already dropped out. i scrapped by with a D. DO NOT TAKE HER

This class is a one way ticket to hell. I thought that poor teaching was limited to grade school, but I was dead wrong. Do not take this class unless you want to try really hard and still fail.

For starters, her English alphabet contains only 24 letters and she mumbles everything. We had 50 minute test, then she taught us how to do one of the problems from it, for the first time, in the remaining 25 minutes of class. Also it took over 2 hours to revise that 50 minute test. Yu-Ju, if you ever read this please heed these instructions: quit.

She's the worst professor I've ever had... couldn't teach if her life depended on it and on top of that she doesn't seem to care that over half the class is failing.

This prof was awful.... that is about all I can say. She doesn't teach, she just writes it on the board and expects you to understand. Final is cumulative, just avoid her at all costs

Worst professor I have ever had. She is not helpful in anyway. I had to withdraw because I was failing. I have met many other people from my class who have also withdrawn.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. The quizzes started out online/open note, but right after the withdrawl period ended she changed the online quizzes to in-class/closed-note pop quizzes! That's when I started failing. She's a tough grader and does not thoroughly explain ANYTHING EVER. I have all A's except her class, which I am going to just barely pass.

She is really hard to understand most of the time since her first languge is not English. You really either A. Have to teach yourself how to do things (which is what I did) or B. get a tutor, because It is very hard to understand what she is saying. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone who really doesn't like math or to anyone in that matter.

Worst professor ive ever taken. Speaks horrible broken engish. She doesnt teach she just writes on the board and verbalizes exactly what she is writing. Everyone in my class got 30's and 40's on the tests. The best students got C's. Weekly homework. 3-5 page paper 1.15 spaced. Horrible dry boring attitude.

I've never been more adamant to leave negative feedback on a professor. After going to every class and completing all assignments, Kuo is the worst professor I've taken throughout the course of my time in college. She's stale, unwilling to help when needed, and a horrible teacher. Don't waste your time, take any other Stats professor. Terrible.

I am a math ed major and the only thing I learned in this class is how not to teach linear algebra. She would answer questions by telling you to look it up in the book; the tests were nothing like the practice quizzes or the homework; i had to withdraw from the class because i had a 27%. That is clearly not an accurate representation of my ability.

Why she's still here, the world may never know. Avoid at all cost. Extremely hard tests. The only good thing she does is that she allows extra credit on the tests.

Would not recommend taking her class, she is uninterested in helping students. She's hard to follow in class as well.

DO NOT TAKE HER!! I've had some bad math teachers, but Professor Kuo is hands down the worst one yet. She does not care about her students at all and does not care to explain anything. I would never take another course with this prof again.

The exams were weighted 60% and we had three of them. Even if you get 100%'s on all of the homework, a grade on an exam will make your overall grade suffer.

Literally the worst professor I have ever had. Online homework uses different symbols than she taught in class. Didn't weigh exams when the average was below a 50%. Extremely unhelpful in class, would ask questions and she will tell you to look it up. Over half the class dropped and I should have too. Don't know why they keep her at IUP.

DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!!! If you have to take Math 107, do anything within your power to take Dr. Bouchat in the spring instead.

You get 3 interactive assignments and 3 homework assignments that you have 4 days to do. There's about 3 exams that are nothing like what you've learned in class and I suggest tutoring because she has a thick accent and bad penmanship. She doesn't care so much if you know it overall, only if you get what's on the paper. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!

Worst teacher I ever had, she doesn't care about her students at all. Do yourself a favor and never take her class. My class started out with 28 students, after the second exam there were 6 students left. She doesn't explain anything, all the homework and lessons are online through Pearson . Absolute horrible person in general.

Never in my life would I think that I would pay $1000 to teach myself material like this. Absolutely the worst professor on campus. The material is not that hard if it were taught properly but given its taught by someone who does not use proper English at all, it really is. How she is still employed is beyond me. Thank god for Pass/fail this semes

You have to pay a ridiculous amount of money just to attend to begin with, then you have to spend at least another 80 dollars on a textbook and lab website where you just teach yourself! DO NOT TAKE HER!

Listen, I'm currently a freshman, and I wish I didn't the drop class period. Now i'm stuck taking a class i know i'll fail because of the material. I FREAKING SPENT 175 DOLLARS, ON A WEBSITE, WHERE I HAVE TO TEACH MYSELF!!! I am NOT happy about this. It's so so hard. 3 midterm exams btw :) . She's very hard to understand.

Honestly, I don't think I've had a worse professor. MATH217 was all online for Spring2021. It was torturous, and she expected us to understand and do all of these weekly assignments on time. I remember 5 assignments PER WEEK! Like, hello? No thanks.

Had her over zoom fall 2020. She is super strict with her grading. She made you watch lecture videos outside of class and then you had to take quizzes about those videos before class started. No teaching occurred during class. Quizzes were from 6am-10am before class every week. Exam took me 8-12 hrs outside of class since we were online bc of Covid

You have to buy $130 ales and she does not teach at all. you teach yourself. she occasionally does group worksheets but attendance is definitely not mandatory. Her exams are short and pretty simple if you know the material. I would not recommend her at all.

My experience with this professor has been awful and uninspiring. The professor doesn't really even teach the class, it is mostly a website called Aleks (which I could write an essay as to about how awful that is) which is expensive and tiring to deal with. Another aspect of this professor which I found stressful was how she tackles group projects.

Literally the worst teacher I have had so far, had her for computer science 110. coming into the class she acted as if we already knew the basics, did not feel like a intro class. she isn't very good at explaining and I spent most of my time teaching my self how to code. compared to other coding teachers she is definitely the worse do not take her.

Hands down worst professor I have had. Not only can she be hard to understand, but her class criteria makes zero sense and unless you use your resources you are not passing this class. Assignments weekly and will not tell you when you have a quiz. Her explanations are useless and she talks in excel formulas and nothing she says adds together. 0/10

Worst class I've taken. Moved it online after I went to class the first day and could barely understand her. Weekly hw and quizzes but no lectures/anything to explain the material. I never understood what I was doing and had to go in person to take all 3 exams, the last one being a cumulative final. I always liked/was good at math until this class.

Everything is on Aleks, but her exams are nothing like the homework or lecture. Don't even bother asking questions buddy, she will NOT help at all. Also, beware of pop quizzes and random activities that count towards the grade. If you can take another professor, PLEASE DO THAT!!

Terrible at helping you understand the content. No one knows what she is teaching. Take your time and teach yourself the content. She will request that you meet with her for office hours if you don't understand an assignment. Either way, in class or 1 on 1 with Dr Kuo, you still won't be able to understand how to complete the assignment.

I took her online prob and stats and let's just say it was a nightmare. First and foremost, she doesn't teach the online class, she just uses the aleks program which doesn't work for some people. On top of that her tests are proctored, so if you are a high school student, good luck! She isn't very cordial to students that need to reschedule a test.

By far the worst class I have ever taken, did not teach in class, had us watch 5-year-old videos that are hard to understand. You can go to her office hours but I found that it did not help me personally much.

You can barely understand what the professor is saying or writing. She gets problems wrong all the time and has an awful teaching style.

Dr. Kuo is a very intelligent professor, but not a very good teacher. This is not a very challenging course, but it can be if you do not put in a fair amount of time outside of lecture. The content on the exams come from the ALEKS modules. Concepts are poorly explained in lecture, and meeting in person honestly feels like a waste of time.

Yu-Ju Kuo was my Math 105 professor this semester. If you can avoid her make sure you do!!!!! she does not teach, just expects you to do the ALEKs math assignments. OH and btw you have to spend $136 on this program!! On one quiz there is maybe 80 topics you will have to know. AND in class she only goes over maybe AT MOST 10 topics... usually 6! XXX

If you can avoid this professor, DO IT!!! She does not know how to teach, and her teaching style is so confusing and doesn't give you any examples beforehand. She does not help you at all and confuses you more. if you are taking math 105, i highly suggest NOT TAKING IT WITH HER if you want to pass!!!!

Just spare yourself the trouble. Half of the assignments we were given were not even related to the subject matter (we did coding CONSTANTLY with examples that WOULD NOT WORK). The structure of the exams were abysmal too. The "lectures" do not even cover any of the material - that's on the student to do somehow.

The most horrendous teaching style I've ever seen. For the ALEKS access code, you end up paying over $100, so save up. Immediately go into tutoring and get help with each module, or most of your time will be spent struggling. DO ALL OF YOUR HOMEWORK! If you bomb the tests, having good homework will help slightly. Find someone that can help you

Professor goes over maybe a quarter of what we need for exams and leaves you to teach the rest to yourself through the program. Frequently gives out pop quizzes and grades on random group work. Half of the class dropped in the very beginning, right after the first exam.
