She's a really good professor and, despite difficulty with english, she manages to get her point across in a relatively understandable manner.

Her only problem is with pronunciation of words. Her english is actually very good, and she uses all the right words in the right places, not to mention that once you get used to the way she talks(I did), she's excellent at teaching her material.

really nice teacher, easy going, if you are in her class,that is one of the most fortunate things you could expect. she explains her stuff well, her review session is VERY IMPORTANT, the questions she mentioned are VERY LIKEY to be reproduced on the EXAMS

One of the best out there! If you want to get a great impression of the university eduation, get it here. English isn't her first language, but give it 3 classes and it gets better. Understandable, great notes, and her exam help classes are the best.

This prof is a pro! Very helpful and will answer all your questions. You'll get use to her accent in a few days, it won't effect your learning at all.

Amazing professor. The accent really is not an issue. She is always very well organized and constantly focuses on actually understanding the material rather than just manipulating the symbols to get the result. Fun digressions about her undergrad years.

When I first saw her, I couldn't even imagine she was a prof. But after taking several lectures, I feel that she deserves it. It is she who makes me love this course.

Some found an accent issue in the beginning, but once that is overcome, you realize she is a great professor. Helpful for those who sought help, inside or out of class. Emphasized the material for the exam and midterm, and ran very helpful review sessions. A great professor indeed.

Fantastic professor! Makes sure you understand the material 100%, and answers questions in class to the best of her ability. Newcomers like James Muir should learn to teach from her. Liu truly epitomizes what makes the Faculty of Mathematics so well known!

AWESOME. Her notes are fantastic. Even if you can't seem to get past her accent, go to class purely for her notes because they make the material so much more clear. She's so friendly and happy and cute all the time. Makes for a nice class environment.

I like going to her class. After another prof subbed in for her for one class(*ehem* stein *ehem*), i just realised how good she really is. Her notes are very helpful. Her office hours are perfect, and she really HELPS you, unlike some tutors.

BEST PROF EVER! I love going to this class; I look forward to it all day long. As for the racism thing (see a later rating); I seriously doubt that is true. She is the nicest person ever, and in a school where the student background ethnicity is primarily Asian, there is just no way that what the other poster says is true.

A GREAT Prof. Although, at first, becoz of her accent, you will find it hard to understand. However, it is easy to adapt. Her notes are really useful, many examples, very useful for the assignments. Most importantly, her mid term review class is very useful, a lot of HINT!!!!

amazing prof. her notes are excellent containging all-you-need-to-know only. her accent is very melodic and rhythmic, so it is like i am enjoying a musical or opera composed of mathematics! At first, it is not easy to understand her accent just like prima donna in an opera, but as time goes by, you start to enjoy it just like in opera again!

GREAT PROFESSOR, teaches VERY well, albeit she does have a relatively heavy accent, but you get used to it. She's very enthusiastic, and explains theorems and concepts extremely well, and provides TONS of examples. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this professor

I had her for four of my major courses, all ended up with grade of 95+. She gives pinpoint lectures that are very easy to understand. PLEASE TAKE HER CLASS

Didnt like her at the first simply cause couldnt understand her english; but as soon as I got over with that, found her lectures were excellent, especially those examples she gave in class. Each of them worth your time doing it again after class.

Excellent prof!!! Her class is always full of people!!Remember to follow her notes, and she is actually very cute although you might find it hard to understand her accent but you will get used to it at most one week.

She's my most favorite lecturer!! Her notes and examples are organized and helpful, thus easy to follow when you study for the materials. Solutions written in class are exactly what is expected on exams. Gives hint for every assignment. (other profs don't!) Heavy accent but you'd get use to it quickly. Highly recommend this prof for math135!!!

Best prof I had in my 5 years at UW. She does have a strong accent, but you get used to it. She's one of the few profs in SE/Math/CS that uses good examples that are very similar to assignment or exam questions. Go to her classes; it's worth it.

She is a really great teacher, clearly, helpful, and so nice to help us prepare the tests. I hope she will be my math teacher again.

AMAZING prof! She does great examples that help you directly with assignments and exams, along with some nice hints for the trickier questions. My mark between Math 137 and 138 went up by over 15% thanks to her! I would take any course again for her just because of how well she teaches. She is incredibly engaging and wants her students to succeed.

Prof. Liu was amazing! I was a little intimidated when I entered the algebra course, but she made everything crystal clear. Super helpful examples in class, and very patient with questions during office hours.

I'm not the brightest math student but still managed to finish with an A+ in the algebra course - that is literally how amazing she is. If you have her PLEASE TAKE HER CLASS. Amazing! Very caring about how students actually do. Moves fairly quickly though material, but explains well and does a lot of review at the end. 11/10 would recommend for MATH 135.

One of the greatest lecturers, she always gives you the outline of a proof, makes sure you understand it then starts writing down the proof.

Made the course super enjoyable. Her examples were very clear and she always made sure the whole class understood what she was doing. Would definitely recommend.

She is one of the best profs I met in Pure Math department! She cares a lot about her students and she gives bonus mark. Her midterm is easy, basically based on the assignments. I pretty enjoy taking Pmath courses with her.

Professor Liu is amazing! Her lectures are fast-paced, but well organized and easy to follow. She gives lots of examples that are relevant to assignments and exams. She makes sure that everyone understands and has no problems going over things again if people are confused. Also, her office hours are SUPER helpful for assignments. 100% recommend!

She is always so excited about what she's teaching. It gives me motivation to want to learn it. Tests and assignments are challenging but fair; not many "gotcha" questions. She was accommodating for my extenuating life circumstance. One of the best teachers I've had so far!
