She sometimes gets off topic... lots of group work involved in the class
Increidbly nice teacher. Her class is really straight forward, she tells you EXACTLY what is going to be on the test, she gives you your essays (40% of each test) in advance, and the class is just overall easy. Go to class, and you'll get an A.
Barely has English down. Hard to understand. Repeats herself alot. Participate in class, study a little, and it's not tough to get an A, though.
she is very nice. if you have a question, she'll try to answer it the best she can. her idea of repetition until learned is a little shakey but otherwise, she is a good teacher.
very fun and energetic. i have never had history taught so enthusiastically! at first her accent is hard to understand, but after the first week of class i barely noticed it. she hands out a review sheet a week before the test which makes studying a breeze. definately take her!
Very enthusiastic about topic, fresh take on the material, fun and accomodating personality. She's Chinese, as in, from China. Her English is excellent, totally fluent but NON NATIVE; if you have problems understanding accents, go elsewhere
She is very interested in her material. She is very helpful! I barely noticed an accent. She makes history actually fun to learn.
Great teacher! There were moments where I didn't know how I was doing in the class; she seemed a bit unorganized. However, even though I really don't like History, she made it interesting.
very easy class, 2 test 3 easy papers. Kind of odd sometimes but is a very nice person who cares about history and students
She told our class that she was going to do things that she NEVER did and then she held them against us. There is NO way I would take her again and my advice is that if you are reading this, you don't take her either. If she is your ONLY option, good luck but don't expect anything she tells you.

She is a very nice person and tries to help her students, but she is too politically correct and much too trendy to be an effective teacher.

She is crazy. It takes a while to get used to her accent. Make you do panel discussions and debates. Tests are easy though she gives you a study guide and as long as you follow it you will do great. Returned papers written at the begining of the quarter at the end. You never know your grade. Does not like email or the internet.
She was moody, did not like people asking questions, did not make history interesting. In my opinion, she taught like she was in charge of an elementary school class. She didn't allow any noise even while she was doing something like turning off the lights or setting up a video to show.
SHE IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
Awful. If you have her this fall do yourself a big favor and drop her.
Kept it very interesting
no clue what she is talking about
She can't speak english very well, at all. Very boreing, and always ask if your OK?
I just couldn't understand her. She said she spoke "chinlish"(chinese-english). She means well, but is so formal. She talks a lot, then asks a qusetion, and you don't know what the heck she is asking. She isn't vicious though.
I took her Hum 130 class online. It was horrible. She wouldn't return my emails even though in the sylibus she said to email her through coarse email. It took her almost a week to reply and when she did it was in the bulletins. She also changed the exam from a multiple choice to an essay a week prior to the due date. I HATED HER!
I had for HUm 130. She was a good professor. There were a lot of class discussions and she is big on watching videos. I did see sometimes that when you would try to voice your opinion show would try to overpower you. There was only the midterm and final and she went over both with you. She would ask what we wanted for essay questions. I got an "A".
I took her class online. She takes a little time getting back to you when asking a question, but she always gets back to you. I found her to be more than fair and very nice. The quizzes weren't that hard; alot of writing assignment though.
She is a wonderful teacher. She up front explains what her expectations are, and lays out how to be a good student and do well in class. Her use of English is superior to many people on campus, but with a slight Chinese dialect. Keep an open mind (yes, I know that's hard for some of you haters out there) and you will have no trouble understanding.
She's pretty hard to understand most of the time but she's nice enough.
This teacher cannot speak english very well at all. She is very nice though. She tries to use words like tranquility, prosperity, and words that asian professors use to make them sound smart but if you ask her a question she tries to use big words that never answer your question. She loves to be right and will argue w/ you when even when shes wrong
Goes from one subject to the next, very unorganized, def. needs to stick to teaching Chinese and not American History!!
Dr. Wang is an excellent instructor; I also had her for Humanities 130 and got an "A" Her lecture style is more conversatiobn and discussion style instead of sticking your nose in a book. 2 tests and 3 easy debate papers that's what makes up your grade. For the debates she will give you the primary source ahead of time. Got an "A" for the class.
She rambles from one topic to the next and then goes back to what she was talking about before, she should just stick to teaching Chinese!
I took History 101 and Chinese 101 with Prof. Wang. She is quirky and funny, and keeps class interesting. History was a great class because she required not only text reading but primary source reading to give understanding of different viewpoints. We also watched some really great documentaries.
She was horrible. She never made any sense and canceled class at least once a week. Also, if you needed her for help she would never respond to emails. If you get her, switch teachers.
She tended to get off subject a little, but it made the class more interesting. I was going to drop class, but ended up with a B, so she is willing to help you or work with you as long as you talk to her about your problem.
Do NOT take her online class. She didn't respond to a single e-mail until the quarter was 75% over and only after I had to contact the department head. She never posted grades until the quarter was almost over so nobody knew what grades they had. Terrible class!
This professor has not idea how to respond to an email! The class is almost over and she has yet to post any grades! She is terrible at returning emails. She has bogus assignments that really have nothing to with the actually class. I honestly didn't put any effort into this class, because she doesn't! Don't take her!!
I am taking this class online. I sent in a piece of H.W., and it came up blank to her. I got no notification of this for a week. I resent the file in rtf. format, and asked her repeatedly if she had received it. Still no answer, and it is time to turn in the book review.I need to know if I can send it in rtf. I e-mailed her once, still waiting for
Never take her online class! Hard to understand and hard to get along with. Avoid at all cost.
Makes history very interesting. She was wonderful. I can't understand some of the comments, she is VERY helpful. Lets you know exactly what you need to know for tests and essays. If you take notes and come to class, you should not get less than a "B".

LOVED HER CLASS....She made history fun and interesting. I would choose her again if I had to take another history class.
I took this class online and did very well. I thought the professor was very nice and gave me great feedback on my assignments. I took the class over the summer A term. Just do the assignments and turn in on time and you should do well.
I enjoyed her class a lot... she made history interesting. NOT one of those teachers who put you to sleep. Take her and you'll might actually like history if you don't already.
Excellent! She was very helpful with all assignments, and lets you know exactly what she needed from you at the beginning of the quarter. If you come to class, and read your text, you're sure to get an "A". Mostly lectures, and some power point, but is more than willing to answers questions as she goes. I would recommend her classes to anyone!!!
I took HUM 130 online. This was the worst course and worst instructor I have ver been exposed to. She tries to relate everything to the greatness od China. She will take 4-6 weeks to grade papers, and never answers emails. Many of the links in the course don't work, and everything is full of spelling and grammatical errors. Avoid this oline course.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her. I loved her sense of humor, her style of teaching and her willingness to help anyone, even though we had a bunch of jackasses in our class!
I took HUM 130 online summer course...ummmm... kinda scared me away from online courses. She wasnt the best with communcation and miss graded an assigment which thankfully i caught but almost cost me my grade.maybe this would be better to take her in class..?? 4 on a 1-10
I loved her style and the way she was so willing to help, if you needed it. Those students who did not care for her, must not have reached out to her for help. I recommend her to all my friends!!
DO NOT take her online class...for any course. She never responds and grades extremely unfairly. Trust me..DO NOT take her. Find someone else unless you want to work very hard for a bad grade.
Very nice lady but very hard to understand.. I would not recommend this teacher.
She has too much going on with teaching and volunteering. She'll put on a movie and leave the class to do a presentation without telling anyone. Usually late. Just talks the whole time and is hard to understand. I wouldn't recommend her. It takes her forever to grade stuff as well.
will not respond to e-mails, or give students the opportunity to see the grades they receive on tests and assignments. She is extremely incompetent.
I'm currently in her face-to-face history class. She gets off track so easily and never comes back to what she was talking about. Can't speak english. She will tell you not to worry about something because it wont be on a test..BUT IT IS! Incomprehensible, avoid her at all cost. The only thing she has going for her is her humor.
The class is set up very confusing! Dates mismatch from the syllabus to the calendar. & does NOT answer emails no matter how urgent or how many questions you may have. I emailed her three times and finally 5 days later...I get a blank email.
The workload is pretty simple, but she grades very weird. I often got 8.3's or something odd like that out of 10 on the discussions. she DOES NOT respond to emails and her due dates are more than confusing. i don't recommend her.
very difficult and detailed tests. had 3 of 50?s each. had to use 2nd computers google just to get an ok grade on them. took online and no communication. in last week of class and just now got all course grades so far. picky on forums and essays. dont recomend
Took the 8 week version of this class. This is not an easy class, however, she is very clear on what to expect and is very fair. She gave extra credit, curved tests and rounded my grade from a high B to an A. If you need something, tell her. She will be happy to help. These other people are just whining and wanted an easy A. I worked hard for mine.
Teacher was very hard to understand. Test are ridiculous but ended up getting an 85% on the midterm. It consisted of 10 multiple choice and three extended response. and extended response as in 4 paragraph essay each... It seemed many students were confused overall
Couldn't understand what lectures were about. Class was always confused about what was going on and when things were due. At the end of the semester, she updated the grade book for the first time last minute. Never added in my extra credit.. because i of i got a B instead of an A.. I'd pass on her.
I'm taking this class online and it's so reading intensive... I work full time and I barely can squeeze in time to read all of the things we have to. The book chapters are really really long and then we have extra pages of assigned reading. Hasn't updated grades so I can't check to make sure I'm doing essays correctly...
Worst teacher ever. Does not respond to e-mails, ever. Tests are from textbook only and are very difficult when you have to read over 100 pages plus another 30 online. Her grading is terrible and her response to forums is always the same. She also does not keep up on grades. I had two weeks to go in the semester and no grades after week 8.
Really decent teacher. She was sick over online B-term & didn't need a lot of help, but when I did she gave it. It's a history course, most info could be found online. Need to talk to others in forums & use docs. Tests were hard but could be taken 2X & averaged wa 5 pt. curve - hard to get below a C. Good person, would take another class of hers.
If you participate in class and read your text book you will be fine!
She was the best Prof i have ever had!
I took her online course and I hated it. The reading was extensive, grading was poor. Never heard from her, she did not communicate with the class at all. She took 6+ weeks to post grades and gave little feedback. It was like not even having an instructor. Basically taught myself for an A and she graded when she felt like it.
The tests are big and hard, but she was the best Prof i have ever had!
Yufeng Wang is such an amazing teacher! She is so caring and she is really interesting
She goes into detail, sometimes too much detail that we end up falling behind and missing other info. I felt as if she wasted my time a lot by either not having class or over emphasizing directions. We once spent a whole hour discussing how to write an essay question! She also skips key moments in history at times She skipped over 9/11 for example.
If you put in the work, it's an easy A. I feel she is a little too critique when it comes to the discussion topics. It does take her a VERY long time to post grades. I could have made a solid A if I put in more time to actually read the chapters.
Do the work and youll pass with flying colors.
Professor is very kind and precise with the online class. Gives great detail and makes sure you know what you're doing. Lenient in the amount of homework given so that it is reasonable. Gives many chances to succeed. Reading is the biggest part of this class! If you don't read the book, you will fail this class! Overall, a great professor!
As an online professor, I didn't need to communicate with this professor very much. The course requirements were clear. Does NOT accept any late credit at all. Not even minutes late.
She holds off on putting grades in for a long time. I didn't know I wasn't doing them the way she wanted until she put five of my discussions in all at once and got a c on all of them which made it hard to bring grade back up. She is very considerate if you have a problem with the deadline.
Took her online class. Discussion posts were hell. She went six weeks without grading any until she updated a bunch at once. If you make a mistake and are unaware of it, you are getting points off for that mistake 4+ times before you have a chance to correct it. feedback was very vague. Homepage said there would be extra credit but there wasn't.
It wasn't a great class, but it was an easy pass.
It wasn't a great class, but it was an easy pass. I wouldn't recommend taking it as an eight-week class, it got really boring really fast.
AMAZING TEACHER!!!!!!!
Boring and annoying at the beginning, took this course online and it was really easy, just discussion post and 2 papers
One chapter a week with a discussion on a prompt she lays out for you. 3 papers - no exams! Gave extra credit for joining a lecture.
I think the professor is a great professor, although since it was a totally online class, I didn't really get the chance to talk to her or anything. The class itself was just really boring to me. Not her fault, though! Just don't recommend if you don't HAVE to take it or if you don't absolutely love history and stuff.
I thought she was great, the class wasnt too hard just a discussion and a test each week. However, the meets were kind of a waste of time, no new key points were brought up outside of the book and I honestly stopped showing up for them. I still got 100% on participation.
It's not a good class nor a qualified professor
Dr Wang was super nice and helpful. The Flexpace class was extremely easy, and overall there was not too much reading. Three essays are mandatory: a guided analysis, a position paper, and a reflecting on history essay. The professor is very quick at grading and will give feedback if necessary.
Professor Wang was exceptionally helpful and her course was easy! The low difficulty while still maintaining the material that was taught throughout has made me want to further my studies in Chinese! While it was merely an online class, I got more out of it than not. Attending painting sessions and a celebration of the Mid-Autumn festival.
I took HIS1111 which is Western Civilizations. The book is very good but expensive. She was grading 3 weeks behind, so I maded a mistake by not adding a reference section on my online discussion. The grading rubric mentions 2 in text citations required. I remember asking her about this, she mentioned that all in text citations were from the book.
She does not communicate with students or respond to emails. When you get her to respond, she gives short and rude responses that do not pertain to the question. She gave me her number so we could walk through an assignment I missed then proceeded to decline my calls when I called right after and did not respond to my email until a week later.
Had this class during the summer for Western civilization 1. Tough grader when it came to discussions and didn't really give feedback on why points were deducted to improve. Quizzes were hard, make sure to really read the material. Quick grader and overall, an okay professor.
She was a fine professor. She's from China originally, so English is not her first language. As a result she is often unsure when speaking and lacks vocal authority. She has a passion for history and is very knowledgeable, but the biweekly discussions very rarely strayed what was covered in the reading. She also gave little warning for essays.
Goated professor. Girly did not give a gaf and basically gave me an A in everything. It's an easy class if you take notes and just do the work. Though she was bad about responding and didn't show up to zoom office hours and kinda ghosted me for 4 weeks but otherwise I love her sm.
This professor thinks that she is a Harvard professor and finds as many areas as possible to take off points. My friend who also took the same class at the same time as me from a different professor was turning in very similar assignments and received higher grades on every assignment than me.
Easy class! Professor Wang's expectations were very clear and the quizzes/assignments were always related to the lessons. I enjoyed how each week had the opportunity to earn extra credit just by watching a video or reading a poem and sharing what you learned from it. No mandatory discussions or discussion replies. She was very friendly!
