HE IS THE BEST. EASY TO TALK TO AND VERY UNDERSTANDING. HE GOES OVER EVERYTHING AND WILL HELP YOU WHENEVER HE CAN. VERY GOOD TEACHER. PRETTY EASY CLASS IF YOU PAY ATTENTION AND DO THE WORK.

Yuj rocks. He is a really good guy, spent over an hour helping me interpret data for a different class. Quizzes are open boo 25% of grade, only 5 HW's, gives you formulas on the tests. Nice guy. I'd reccomend him to anyone as a teacher.

Yugi is the best teacher I have ever seen. This is a very hard subject but he makes it really easy and he really cares if you understand or not. Excellent teacher.

By far the greatest professor I have ever had. Takes time and effort to make sure everyone understands the material. Class was wonderful, that getting up for 8am class was nothing- only class I enjoy coming to. And a plus- he is definitely HOT, only professor I've ever had a crush on. If he taught another course I'd take it in a heart beat.

Such a fun professor - he is so funny and he really cares that his students understand the material. what i like best about his class was that he was pretty transparent about what he wanted you to know for his tests. his lectures are pretty good but you still need to read the textbook. I highly recommend Yuj to everybody

Yuj is down! GOOD teacher. Consistent with lecture, provides study guides, and is clear about what he expects from you. He's VERY realistic. The only advice i will give is go to class- you need to, to understand what's up. Appearance wise... has the cutest smile, and the finest rear end I've seen in a while.

The BEST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER EVER EVER HAD!!! So great! He keeps you awake in lecture, always trying new experiments. He really cares about your success. All exams had a study guide and he usually lowered the exam scores after they were graded if majority of students missed the same question. He provides extra credit.

Loved this class..... Before I took him I didn't understand stats and got an F in my stats 301 class. Went into his class and understood everything soooo much better! This time around I got an A, and I remember everything I learned too:)

He totally rocks!! My worst subject is math. I have never received anything higher then a C. I totally got a B in his class. He is so organized and teaches with clairity. If you have to take stats, take him! He is your chance to succeed. He is fun too, and very helpful. He has to be one of the top teachers at ARC. He is very young too!

I am so not a math person whatsoever, but he made pratical examples making it easier to remember and keep interest. He made time to help me study for exams, and ALWAYS responded to emails promptly. Take him!!!

He is VERY cute ( looks like a well dressesd student), well spoken and he loves what he teaches. He is long winded but that's ok because he is passionate about the subject and finds away to involve everyone in his class.

Mr. Shimizu is an awesome teacher to take for Statistics. He provides all the resources that you need for the class. Also, he teaches with clarity that makes a hard subject very understandable in an easy manner. Overall I enjoyed the class and learned a lot. I would take him again for another class. Anyways, TIGHT Math teacher! ^_^

Mr. Shimizu is a really excellent statistics teacher! I am proud that I have gained a lot knowledge from taking his class. He knew how to teach a very difficult subject with an easy approach. His lectures were so informative in regards to what could be on the tests. This class really prepared me for my psych major. Shimizu ur the best!

When I told my friends that I was gona take stats, they told me that its going to a hard semester for me. Well, Yuj proved them wrong. The way he presents the information is crystal clear. he wants you to succeed. Gives extra credit. Attendance is mandatory! I got an A in the class. This professor is great! I'm not all that good at math but I was able to understand everything. He goes slow enough for everyone to understand. He is really funny and interesting! If I would have known about him earlier I would have taken more classes that he teaches. Sign up fast cuz his classes fill up fast.

Professor Yuj is very helpful and has a great sense of humor. He uses a lot of examples that students can relate to in everyday life. Whether or not you are a Psychology major, this is a great class to help build your understanding of statistics. Show up to class everday and take good notes. Don't worry about memorizing formulas.

THE HOTTEST PROFESSOR ON CAMPUS. His lectures are really interesting. All quizes are take home. Really funny too. He dresses really nice! All notes are posted online, so I wouldn't really say attendance was mandatory! MUST TAKE THIS CLASS!!!! YOU WILL DEFINATELY ENJOY IT!

I took prof. shimizu my first sem. of college & what a great start. He's a down to earth fun guy who tries to get the whole class to understand the material. The material can be easy but can be difficult also; we had online hw & 2 midterms & a final. My worst subject in math was probability but he made it understandable. Great Prof. RECOMMENDED!!

Intellectual professor with a great personality and attitude! Was super clear and easy to understand! He covers everything in lecture! Really helpful and easygoing! You should definetly take him for Pysc 330, especially if math isn't your strongest skill! He breaks everything down to a matter of common sense. I wish all my profssors were like this!

Take him thats all I gotta say. Take Psych 330 with him over normal stats. Do all your online homework, it only helps your grade in the long run. I would have got an A if I did all of my homework. Hes tight and he makes learning what he teaches super interesting.

Took him for fall 2010 and I got to say he is by far the best instructor in psyc/stats. I got an A for his class. Attend to all his classes and do all the work. Exams are straightforward and he doesn't try to trick you. He explains everything crystal clear and he's patient with his students. Glad i took him for Psyc/Stats!

Always clear, helpful, and willing to pause to explain anything a second or thrid time. He creates an extremely comfortable learning environment for everyone and the fact that he's younger lends itself feeling like he's more on our level right from the start. I'd certainly recommend him to anyone looking to take this class. Can't go wrong with Yuj!

Yuj is one of the BEST professor i ever had. His classes are fun and interesting, alot of interesting activities he does to make you better understand the material. he has 5 take home quizzes which are easy. 3 exams and a final. you can use a flashcard for all exams and final, i barely opened the book. his notes are everything you need.TAKE HIM

He can't make this class any easier. He breaks down the formulas, tells you what will be on midterms, and actually gives you the formulas for the exam. How could it be any easier??? Real simple class. Not a lot of assignments so you have to do well on the tests. He even expands the grading system.75 gets you a B and 66 gets you a C!

This class was interesting. Heavily assignment based. You basically work on a research project the whole semester but it's no walk in the park. The lectures were a bit confusing just because they're are so many terms that look a like. Should be an easy B at minimum.

(330,335) What a wonderful professor. Very smart, very helpful, very funny, and very nice. Makes understanding complicated stats jargon much easier, much more interesting and much more entertaining! 330 more demanding than 335, but still 1,000x better than P. Scott. Plus, 335 is where you apply all the things you learned in 330. SO MUCH FUN!

First time in my life that a STATs class i didn't dread. He keeps things simple and is always willing to help. All the ladies drool when they see him, which i guess helps time go by. All HW is online, 2 tests, 1 final, and 3 in-class assignments. Really easy stuff just show up.

Had him for two semesters. He's very nice, helpful, and organized. The research methods wasn't as difficult as the stats class.

Yuj is the man! I took two semesters with him, general psych and psych stats. He is extremely clear on what he expects, and enjoys teaching. Extremely easy to talk to. Talk to him about hockey or living in canada! For stats, posted practice tests that were the EXACT format of the real ones, which made it incredibly easy to do well. Take him!

He is an easy teacher, and I recommend him. The only downfall- I felt it was hard to ask him questions, because unless you were attractive women he didn't really want to have a conversation with you. But with his study guides and lectures he makes it extremely clear what to expect from his exams, so no reason to have a conversation with him anyway.

He's pretty laid back. 4 exams that can be worded a little funny, but you get the study guide and a 4x6 notecard to gamble with. He doesnt use the book at all in the class, its all off powerpoint but a lot of questions are from the book so make sure to read that. Homework is crazy easy too! All in all, class was decently easy.

This was an AMAZING class. I've gone most of my life having a hard time with math, but this class solved that. Professor Shimizu was clear in all of his instruction and very helpful as well. This was the most interesting stats class I've ever taken. Pay attention, do the work, ask questions, and you'll do very well.

Chill teacher. Very straight-forward. Print out power points and write notes on them. Online hw, 2 midterms, final exam (cumulative), 3 participation pts, 3 SPSS assignments (all together makes your final grade). Gives you practice exams and study questions and IT IS ALL SIMILAR TO EXAMS! just different numbers. Hate stats but loved his class.

He was a good teacher. He was open to answering questions and stuff you were confused on. The class was entertaining for the most part. Just a couple semi-boring days but he likes to show videos and do activities to keep you focused and entertained. Easy enough class to at least get a B in. Also let's you use a note card on test days which helps.

Professor Shimizu is an excellent professor who really knows how to structure a class so it is engaging and worth your time. Tests are all from PowerPoint slides that he hands out and are very straightforward. I HIGHLY recommend this teacher if you are interested in greatly expanding your interest in how the human mind works.

It helps to print the ppts for taking notes in class. Very helpful when asking questions. Read ahead, pay attention in class, do your homework on time; it is very hard not to ace this class.

This class was fun, easy and interesting, not a bad class to have at the end of the day. He showed a lot of videos and interactive demonstrations of what we were learning. The homework was light. He printed out the slides so taking notes was a breeze.

If you attend classes and listen his very well and doing notices, you will be successful, also he lets you to use notice 4x6 double side, follow in tests his lecture and study guide.

He knows the subject. When you have a question you don't know, he will find the time to answer it for you. I never had the opportunity to meet him during his office hours, but he takes a legitimate interest in his students.

Professor Shimizu is the BEST. He clearly states in study guides what was in the lectures, and what to look up in the textbook. Grading is totally fair, if you don't complete the stated "textbook only" study questions, that's your problem. This is college after all. NOTE CARDSLIFE SAVER!!! Final was a piece of cake, everyone got an A on our final.

Shimizu is as great as students say he is. He's younger so I think it really helps that he understands how college works for most students. Most homework are online, there is a lot but you won't regret doing them and they prepare you well for exams. He's very approachable and he grades well. Overall, he is a fair professor and you'll learn a lot.

Great professor! He was very clear, precise and explained the material in a way anyone could understand it. Word of advice, print out the notes ahead of time because there are a lot of them. Also, do all the homework it's worth an equivelant of an exam in extra credit at the end of the semester. He's also very nice and nice to look at too!

Yuj is the best!!! One of the best teachers I've ever had at ARC. Not only is he very knowledgeable about what he does, but he's funny and sweet and approachable too. I had a very easy time in his class. I didn't even need to use the textbook because everything we needed was in the handouts he gave during class. I wish I could take him again!

I had a hybrid class with him. I actually READ the textbook like it said in the syllabus. I didn't really like that he gave lectures about NEXT week's chapter, that I hadn't gotten a chance to read about yet. But his expectations are very clear -- he gives us a SG and practice test for each exam. There is only a little bit of online hw.

Hybrid class: Lectures are in class 1 day a week, hw & 3 discussions for the semester are due online. Attend classes and study, I'm sure u'll do well. He gives a sheet w/ equations for ea of the 4 tests. If u know to use them, they're very helpful! Everything I learned was useful. 1 of my favorite classes so far, made way more sense than Stats300

Attendance isn't mandatory but it is STATS so if you skip it you are asking to fail. We had online homework and there wasn't a textbook needed, just buy online access code. He is really nice and wants you to understand. I am awful at math and ended up getting a B. If you do a homework you will get a B even if you fail the tests like me.

Stats isnt an easy concept, but he makes is as simple as possible. Do the work, take notes and practice the concepts (there's an online book where you can practice the math). Don't miss class if you can help it. There is at least one new concept per week, so you won't want to miss anything. It's a hybrid course, so online one class per week.

Throughout my college career, I've done horrendous in math classes, but this class was a breeze. He makes it so easy to understand. Plus he gives you formula sheets during exams and study guides that are pretty much spot on with the actual exams themselves. Easy A in my opinion. Only con is the textbook is expensive and mandatory.

I was nervous to take Statistics, but Mr. Shimitzu states clearly the best approach to pass his class. If you follow it and put the effort in by studying, completing the homework, and quizzes you will pass. He gives you opportunities to retake low exams and second chances on quizzes. He repeats statistical methods so students will retain it.

Great professor. Took a hybrid class so, only met once a week but he genuinely tries to help his students. Very down to earth and understanding. If you understand basic math procedures and vocabulary terms you'll pass easily. Very lenient with Homework and quizzes. He also provides formulas for exams so no need to remember them. Highly Recommend.

I took him for Psychology in Statistics and he such an awesome professor. I am terrible at stats and was really nervous for this class. He is awesome at explaining what to do and is very helpful. I took the hybrid class and would highly recommend that format.

Professor Shimizu was wonderful. I never thought I would enjoy Statistics, (let alone pass it), but he made it interesting and easy to understand. I would suggest watching the videos and tutorials and taking notes. Do this and you should pass his class with no problem.

I was afraid to take Stats especially online. After reading reviews I decided to take this teacher and I am so glad I did! Not to say stats are easy but he sure makes it easy! I havent read the book at all. He explains everything in detail in his 10-15 minutes videos. I loved stats! Never thought I would say that! Learned a lot and got an A.

I took this Stats class expecting to fail. If you watch his youtube videos for each module, take notes and use the practice sheets, you will pass his class. His videos were amazing. He explained it in a way that made sense. He even offers practice exams before each official exam. Prof Shimizu is an incredible instructor.

Took this class online and I loved it! Definitely recommend this professor. 2 of your lowest exams are dropped at the end. He is consistent and sends reminders every few days. Lessons + problems (you have 3 attempts, highest grade is kept). Open book exams!

Excellent math professor! Amazingly organized, communicates clearly, lays out EVERY single thing you need to do to pass tests. His online lectures are short, easy to follow (don't slack off, take notes!) and the tests are open note and book. Stats are hard to learn but just follow his formulas and you'll do great. Seems easygoing and friendly.

He is a nice guy. The class is straight forward just make sure you complete the assignments. The class was the hardest I had this semester but because the subject it's self is hard. The test's and assignments are challenging and take a huge effort. If you need to take this class though I would take this professor just work hard and do your best.

This professor is a truly gifted teacher for Statistics. I am horrible at math, but I would take this class again because of how clear and easy everything was to understand. A GREAT teacher! Though online, his video lectures were very easy to follow and I really learned a lot. I was worried about the math aspect of this class, but it really is easy so long as you take your notes during the lectures. He gives great feedback too on discussion posts. 10/10 would recommend

Gives very clear video lectures. Just video lectures alone were enough for me to understand the materials. Gives practice worksheets that are not mandatory but very helpful for extra practice, as exams may have similar questions. Gave clear instructions on how to use the SPSS program. Exams were based on lectures and worksheets. Great Professor!

How to pass this class: watch lectures and copy the slides he posts. Honestly, I hardly had to read the book because the Mindtap problems could be answered from his lectures alone. Two discussion posts and he gives a study guide and practice exam for each exam, so you basically have to pass. I would take a class with him again if Psych was my major

Taking statistics was very daunting to me but Prof. Shimizu's step-by-step lectures made each concept completely understandable. He is very approachable and offers assistance freely.

I was really scared to take this class, however, this class was so easy you don't even need to read the book just watch and take notes and the videos he provides. Weekly homework assignments, 2 spss quizzes, 3 tests. there aren't any surprises everything is laid out perfectly. Easy A just watch the videos and do each chapter review worksheet.

I was scared to take this class but Professor Shimizu made this class simple and easy. His concise mini-lectures summarized the necessary information, which made reading the given textbook unnecessary for me. The class includes weekly homework assignments with 3 attempts allowed per question, 3 SPSS quizzes with two attempts, and 3 tests.

Hands down one of the best professors I have ever taken. My course was strictly online so I never actually got to meet him. However even through the screen you can tell he cares about his students well being. The course is easy to navigate. The coursework is organized and well balanced each week. Please do yourself a favor and take his class!!

TAKE THIS CLASS if you are afraid of Stats. He is the one that will help it make sense to you. I got an A and I am not into math. Tons of support from tutors, his lectures help, doing homework on cengage helps you lock in the concepts and practice. You will pass Stats if you take Shimizu.
