Like others said, he has *Extremely Heavy* accent. It would tune you out just 10 mins into the class cause you can't understand what he says. downL ppt from the publisher's website, study on your own, no attd taken and he doesn't care. Just study on your own.

Wow! what a teacher. if you want to learn, then take someone else. tests are hard, lots of homework, and a long project too.

Just possibly the worst instructor at CSUF. Mumbles through his lectures. Students brought cards to play during his class. No kidding. Best to avoid this turkey.

Horrible teacher, after first lecture I soon realized that he didn't care one bit about teaching the class; acted like we were wasting his time. Very hard to understand his mumblings and doesn't cover anything, but the ppt. Don't expect a good grade bc even if you get A's on the first tests, after the Final you end up with a low grade anyways.

Fin 340 is a hard subject,if you don't want to sweat it out then take prof. Li. It's true he doesn't care, and that's good. he'll just pass you. his tests are not that hard, beside he tells you what's on the test so you don't have to study. No homework or quiz. Give yourself a break

Don't take him. I can't stand his lecture. Mumbles, has a weird accent, and can't finish a thought in once sentence. Dropped me from his class because I missed some quizes because I stopped going to class because his lectures suck.

Horrible professor. He mumbles a lot and seems to be in his own world. He'll stop for like a minute during his lecture to just stare at his nails. He's the only one who teaches this class, so I guess there's really not much choice. GOOD LUCK.

Hated coming to this boring class! He is hardly understandable, his accent is horrible. HW is mandatory, exams are freakin HARD! I honestly think I fell asleep a couple times in his class because all he does is read directly off the powerpoint, which are available online, so it's ridiculous to come to class. Beware.

DO NOT take this professor. He has a really thick accent, which makes understanding him close to impossible. He is a really nice guy. But his teaching methods are not helpful at all. If you are taking his class, be prepared to do everything on your own. If you read the book and do the HW, you will definitely survive. I was always absent and got a B

He is very dull and has an extremely thick accent. And to top it off, he mumbles every word so it is almost impossible to understand what he was saying let alone the subject of what he is trying to say. And to top it off again, he is bad at teaching. So that makes this class a self-teach. You have to teach yourself for everything. Not recommended!

Two midterms, a valuation exam, and a department final. His lectures are almost completely useless. The only time it's not is when he's showing us how to use the calculator. He gives sample exams though, which is SUPER helpful. He also curves all the exams. You're going to have to teach yourself, but at least he's pretty generous with the grades.

Do not recommend this teacher. It does not seem like he takes his job very seriously. Definitely have to read the book and learn the material on your own. He doesn't utilize titanium, everything is on myfinancelab. I still don't know my exact grade going into the final despite e-mailing him numerous times. Does not offer any assistance.

Avoid at all costs. I was actually excited to take finance but this guy made me hate every second of it. He has a really heavy accent, he randomly pauses in the middle of his sentences, and he picks his fingernails during lectures. He's the most useless professor I've ever had. PPT slides are too long and not helpful. I got a B. Do not recommend.

Worst prof I have ever had. Literally reads word for word off powerpoint, has no clue how to teach AT ALL no offense. Before our final he just told us to study thats it. I seriously can't believe CSUF employs this guy its ridiculous. No one shows up because of how useless his lecture is. AVOID AT ALL COSTS, unless you want to not show up

This class will be a self teach if you take it. You will gain nothing from his lectures ever. This is the class for you if you don't need a professor because he is literally useless. Hard to understand and doesn't know how to teach.. PROS: curves exams, attendance is not mandatory at all only on exam day.. CONS: no teaching, no exam prep, robotic

One of the worst professors I've had. He is terrible at teaching and just reads off the PP. I hate to knock profs for accents but his is bad. He is so useless that half the class stopped showing up after the 1st month. And I have to say all these reviews on here with all 5 ratings have to be fake, there is no way anyone actually thinks he's good.

Professor Li's accent is difficult to understand. the 2nd midterm was very difficult and it was open notes. the department final was easy if you studied. I managed to get an A- in the class and missed 3 or 4 classes. the only way to pass is to teach yourself out of the book. he randomly stops talking in the middle of the lectures

So boring. Probably the worst professor I've ever had. I pay attention more to how many times he says "uhhhh" and "weeellll" he pauses a lot and talks too fast. Take this if you don't want to show up to class and prefer learning on your own.

most useless prof ive ever taken. reads off of powerpoints all class. final is worth 40% of your grade so you can go from an A straight to a C or lower. pros: easy quizzeshw cons: department final 40% of grade, no curve. everything else about his teaching method is terrible

he is easy, no need to go to class just read the book and go before the exam and you will be good

Instead of actively teaching the class, he sits there and plays a video of himself reading off the powerpoint. Why did he become a teacher?! SO frustrating as a student who paid $$ to learn. I literally only went to class the first day, for exam 1, and for the final. Exam 2 is online. You get a cheat sheet. Don't go to class. Read and do the hw!!

All this professor does is play a video of him reading off the powerpoints. He is linguistically difficult to comprehend due to his thick accent & doesn't even pay attention to the students or his own video while it's playing. During the last few weeks of the semester, they actually REPLACED him with another teacher before the final was released.

Run, run, while you still can.... Comes in, plays an old video lecture (early 2000's), then goes on his phone. Now, videos wouldn't be so bad, but they are accent HEAVY, and slow paced; could even be classified as "cruel and usual punishment." Students are afraid to even ask questions on the videos, because his solution is to replay the video.

He never teaches regularly during class cuz of his poor English with heavy accent. Take his class if you are a good self-learner, if not, don't take him. His online exams are EZ, but very tough in final. I studied by myself the whole semester, so spent a lot of extra time . There are no time for preparing the final which covers 12 chapters.

If you're taking this class with him, treat it as an online class. Lectures are not helpful at all. Seriously guys, don't go unless there's a test. Speaking of tests, there were 4: 1 midterm in-person, 2 midterms and 1 valuation exam all online. Take advantage and pad your grade because the final will drop you down a bit. Homework weekly.

This professor does not teach at all, just shows videos everyday in class (that he also posts online). He makes this class so easy to pass though. Homework and quizzes are online. 2 exams online, 2 on campus. He also let us re-do the 1st on campus exam online if we got a low grade. Final is killer, but do all the other work and you will be fine.

Took this class online. Showed up for final and could barely understand him. Terrible accent. I hate how the whole class has a department final. Showed up with a 93% ended up with an 86. Unbelievable. Pretty much just online hw with quizzes that are nothing from his material. Terrible everything honestly.

I don't know how his reviews are even that decent, I can't understand a damn word he says, all he does is read off the slides and its like just mumbling...I haven't learned a thing. On the first day of class I instantly regretted picking him.

you can get 100 on the hw using online stuff & the tutorials in mylab. the midterm & final q's are different from the study guides. exam easy. final brought me down from 88 to 78. had to use proctor u. videos hard to understand.

weekly hw & quizzes are feasible if you use the tutorials in the mylab hw & have quizlet. use chegg for the online midterms. the final dropped me a whole letter grade - what everyone says about the departmental final on reddit is true. prof's lectures hard to understand & don't help much w/ the final. i wouldn't take this.

Summer class: The lectures were all on Canvas. They were long and dragged out. It was hard to pay attention because he is very monotone. HW and quizzes on MyLab. Homework is easy and there are examples to help you. Quizzes can be taken multiple times. Exams can only be taken once. He will not answer any emails even in a family emergency. Awful.

Lectures are very difficult to understand and after the first few weeks almost no one shows up to class because it's easier to self teach than waste time sitting in lectures. Online homework is easy and teaches you the majority of what you need to know to pass the class. Pretty easy overall but if you actually want to learn this isn't the class.

This professor does not add anything insightful to his “lectures” he essentially just mumbles the entire class and has long pauses to check his nails or something. It's almost comical how bad his class is. I don't recommend if you want to actually learn something.

Lectures are like pulling teeth, he mumbles, doesn't go through examples, and lectures are long. He stops mid sentence to mumble to himself, and forgets where he is, very concerning. MyLab hw was more helpful than going to lectures. Exams are more concept heavy than math.
