hes really the most borring professor i have ever had. everyone falls alseep and even though he goes over the homework you still never do well on his tests.he also has a very bad curving system.
Most boring professor I have ever had. Doesn't know how to teach the course at all, the highest score on his midterm out of a class of about fifty students was a 78, and went as low as a 17...terrible teacher

I dont know what everyone is talking about but he explains everything very well. u just need to study his notes. for whatever questions just refer to the book. his tests are not hard they just require thinking! he gives a good curve too!!!
He is sooooo boring. Not only is he so boring but he does goes passed the lecture time. He spends the whole class period on something that should take ten mintues. I would not take another class with this guy or recommend him to anyone.
This guy is very boring. His tests are very hard. In my class there were 55 students and in midterm about 45 of them got D or less than D. you can't pass his class unless you are very genious. If you really want to make your life horriable, take him.

i wouldn't recomend this proff...he's very quite and gets boring...his tests are very difficult..but he does take his time and explains everything when you ask.

Mad boring and you lose all the interest to subjects, easy A if you understand the material. Explains everything quite clear and slow.
I will admit that he is very smart and knows he stuff... since he has been doing this job since the 1800's, but there is a big difference between teaching and knowing and this dude does not know how to teach. Getting help is highly recommened as well as group studing. TRY TO AVOID LIKE CRACK!!!
He's a very good teacher. Explains stuff VERY well. His exams, though, are seriously way too hard. Also, be prepared to the fact that the guy's never absent, and spends 110% of the class teaching new and technical material. Not an easy class but a great professor, for sure.

Explains things VERY clearly. Lectures are pretty boring, unless you like the subject material. His grading is horrific though. I literally set the curve for the class, my grade was the highest in class for all of his exams and I missed only 2 lectures during the semester and he had the nerve to give me a B.Otherwise not bad if you can endure class
OH MY GOD....this man is soooo boring. First off he talks like a retarded kermit the frog. It is hard trying to stay awake since he takes so long to explain EVERY FREAKING THING. something that would take another professor minutes..takes this guy the WHOLE class. I should have found this site before I took his course..now I am trying to WARN all!
I strongly recommend you to take his class if u would like to have very poor grade in ur entire student life. No matter how hard u work u wont get even B. Yes I meant it.
DO NOT TAKE THIS Professor,because you are going to regret it. He is extremely boring,and you are going to end up falling asleep in his class. His tests are very hard and he makes you memoraze all the formulas for the midterm,when other professors dont. His grading policies are terrible so be prepared to work really hard to get an OK grade

Most dynamic professor I've had at BC!!! Really keeps me awake and interested. I wish all my professors were as dynamic as Prof. Arenberg. What a great teacher! I can't say enough about him. Just take his course. You won't regret it.
This last dude was just trying to do you what happened to him....By all means: Stay aqway from any class that this monotone mini-mouse will ever teach. I had three kids snoring every other day, funny thing is that he didn't even mind. If you are reading this Yuri, for the love of God and our education: holla at retirement for for a minute.
very bad! he is boring! His exam is mostly different from what students learn in class. stay away from that psycho! He never used the book and did not follow the outline. I strongly propose a student to look somewhere else. You would never get a good grade because of his stupid exam.The Economic Depatment is wathing him.

yeah, he's boring but who cares. Just come to class and take notes.you do not need the book. He gives thorough notes.Everything on the test is based on the notes, but not in a straightforward way. You really have to understand the concepts he is teaching, don't just memorize notes. But he is very thorough. If you're smart and take it seriously=A.

I don't know where t start. This man need to RETIRE!! He is ridiculous. His grading policies are horrible, on the midterm and final half of the test was stuff that he promised would not be on it. He's psychotic. And don't think he doesn't know what's going on he does..When everyone but 3 people failed the midterm he blamed us.RUN!VERY FAR!

Whoa what can I say. When I took him for Microeconomics more then half the class bombed on their midterms. It was so bad, he was forced to give people who got in 50-60's range a B. That is because so many people did bad. I think he really tries to help students, but its the material that is difficult. You have to study the book like crazy to get A.

Not great if you actually want to learn the material, so I reccommnend another teacher. If you have to take him just know he wastes a lot of time in class, and the tests are long so just spend a lot of time studying notes. You don't really need the book or to do the exercizes he assigns, but give them a look if you have that much free time.
One of the worst experiences that I had in the College. Very unpredictable professor with a particular bad style of assigning problems in the Final exam. No wonder but the problems in the Final are totally unrelated with what you do in class. Big disappointment. Just stay away from this lunatic.

Stay AWAY from this professor. You will deeply regret taking him once you get to the second week of the semester. He is not clear at all and barely understand the students. for the midterm he told us to study from the book and notes. Those of us who did study all ended up with grades in the 30's and 40's. STAY AWAY if you know what's good for you!!

Arenberg is not as bad as everyone is saying. I took him for statistics and the class was pretty good, wasn't easy but it wasn't that difficult if you follow along. His exams are fair, the questions are tricky so you gotta pay attention to that. I recommend taking Arenberg for Statistics, he's a nice guy and helpful
He is a very nice person but he needs to develop new tactics as a professor. I recommend studying from the book inorder to get a good grade.

This prof is by far one of the worst professors I have ever taken. He is always late to class and does not know how to explain the material. he even takes time away form the final to seat everybody in order. I passed the class with a C and I studied. If you want to keep your gpa good "Don't Take Him"
He thinks there's a mic in the front because he speaks so low that you don't understand him. Often late to class and passes around a form to take attendance. He starts his exams about 30 minutes. The tests were hard, but you should do ok if you opened the book and went to class. Good curve of about 20 points.
he is really boring and he always puts his hand in his mouth all the time when talking and tends to walk back and forth in the front of the classroom and its just disturbing! he gives lectures that are too long and stetches the same topic all in three weeks of class!

he is a pretty good professor. he repeats alot of the same stuff over and over which gets boring at times. but he is not as bad as people are saying he is. i tok his class and got an A, he curves his tests too and he is pretty funny

He talks as if hes holding an imaginary microphone in his hand. his words dont come out so clear and he constantly repeats himself. hes very good at putting me to sleep i wish he read me bedtime stories i would be asleep in no time. if you walk into class 30 min late you wont miss a thing thats how slow he is. i personally didnt mind the daily naps
He talks like hes rapping. His voice puts you to sleep. He does get the information though. Ehh I had a good sleep in the class lol
It's enough just trying to stay awake in his class, on top of that he often doesn't explain the more difficult concepts thoroughly, he always exceeds the time limit, and half the material on his test was never covered in class or the homework. The midterm grades were so abysmal he had to put on a 20 point curve. Avoid at all costs.
Professor is very nice and helpful if you have any questions. His class is based on mid term and final. Hh lectures slow and he has boring tone. You have to take good notes and no this class is not an easy A because his test questions can be diffcult to understand. I wouldn't recommend.
Not a bad guy at all. His class is really really hard. The material is incredibly difficult and confusing, not his fault at all if anything he tries his best to make it easier. Your notes should be your bestfriend in the class. Don't underestimate him. At the end of the day very funny and down to earth professor. Would love to take him again.

class lectures are easy to understand however his test are hard to the point of ridiculous. the highest grade was a 81 in a class of 40+. the class average was probably in the 40-50s. do yourself a favor and take another professor its not worth the headache
As a person he is not bad but as a professor he is awful. He explains basic staff in class but tests are very confusing. The highest grade in class was a 70 in a class of 50. Our class average was in the 20-30s. Don't take him!!!!
omg this class is horrible, he is like always late to class, and its about to be november and still havent received a study sheet or a date for my midterm. he basically just come to class and draw graphs on the board. i am so worried for my midterm let alone the final. your text book will be your best friend.
Really awful professor. Tone is boring and not enough to keep you interested enough. No interactive lessons. Guaranteed the class a day of review, ended up changing his mind and doing 5 to 10 minutes of review. Half the class is worried about the midterms. It's been said by others before but i'll remind you "AVOID AT ALL COSTS"

Avoid this professor at all costs. Class average on exams is 20% to 30%. Tests are outdated and you are tested on material not found anywhere in book or online. Tests have no logical answers and have nothing to do with the material from class or the book. This professor is the worst that can happen to any student. Plunge in GPA is guaranteed.
His class is hard, but the difficulty is exaggerated. You have to go to class& take VERY GOOD NOTES. Study your notes, not the book! With good notes, you should be fine. Tests have a mult. choice & a problems section. (Problems are based on formulas/charts from class.) I wouldn't necessarily recommend him, but if you study hard, you should do fine.
worst professor in the history of brooklyn college. went over the same graph in class for the entire semester than gave an exam more difficult than the BAR exam. class average was in the 30's and he's a horrible professor. avoid taking him at any cost.
Very disappointing experience. Majority of the class scored very low grades on exams. Even though the grades are curved, you'll hardly know anything in his lectures.
I like him. He is very helpful to students during office hours. Hes willing to spend a long time with students. Lecture is boring but if you pay attention and do the hw, you will do fine. He also curves too. Hes one professor that I took despite bad ratings and hes actually not bad folks. Two tests, just study and do the hw. You will pass.

Horrific experience. The whole class failed the midterm so he had to curved a 40 to a C grade. Very unclear in his teaching. Don't bother asking any questions because he'll instantly change the subject. He doesn't give feedback on the homework nor does he do a review for any of the exams. Avoid him at all costs.
Be advised this instructor sees students only limited to his office hours. There is no review sheet for both midterm and final and if you want to pass read the chapters and do the CH. reviews. The class is basically self-taught. This professor is extremely smart but is inept to teach. Save your GPA. I never got less than a B and this says a lot.
Midterm 40, Final 60. Exams are hard but graded with a substantial curve. Lectures are very technical and boring. Be prepared to do most of the learning on your own via homework which is not mandatory but essential if you want to do good. As long as you memorize the formulas and their application, you will do well.

Please I am begging you believe the reviews don't make the same mistake I did. Your GPA will drop taking him. Statistics is an easy class if your professor explains it correctly which he doesn't AT ALL. Test are completely different from what he gives you to for homework. He needs to retire lecture are long and boring waste of time and money.
First off tests are nothing like what is given for homework or the examples in class. I took him despite the reviews and I'm not sure if that was a good idea yet. He offers help in regards to homework but if the questions on the exam floor you s much as they did me, it wont matter.
Had him for two classes and it was torture. Hes a nice guy but I didn't learn absolutely nothing. He gives curves because like everyone fails. I got like D's in his classes destroyed my good GPA! Mind you I always get A's in my classes. BEWARE! !!
Took him for microeconomics to say I didnt learn anything would be an understatement. He is very nice but if you dont understand something instead of explaining it again he says to see him during office hours are you kidding me!? Do yourself a favor and take someone else.

Smart man, but a horrid professor. Your grade will be 40/60 midterm/final. He spent two weeks talking about how to solve for the slope and then out of nowhere started saying "We have to hurry," and speeds through the rest of the course. Tests were impossible, he's always late, you will learn nothing.
He's a kind old man but this will be the most boring class you will ever take. He seems to be in love with what he's teaching but not exactly able to break it down and explain it to the class in a simplified way. Everyone fails so he has to give huge curves, which could work in your favor if you teach yourself enough to do ok.
The topic is hard itself and he doesn't make it easier. He can spend few classes talking about the same topic then all of the sudden rushes through 3 chapters in 2 classes. Grade is based on Midterm which is 60% of the total grade and final which is 40% of the total grade. Lots of optional hw. if you're trying to keep a good GPA then avoid him.
He is horrible!! ! He spent the whole semester on 1 chapter, then rushes through 5 chapters for the final and expect you to cram all the information. Doesnt explain in much detail, and its a difficult course, boring lectures and he doesnt care if the whole class fails! The average for midterm was about 64. No extra Credit and disorganized!
I feel obligated, morally, to tell every single student considering taking a class with Arenberg to please avoid for the sake of your quality of life and happiness from going to this school. This class and professor is a challenge in so many ways, not just the material itself. More cons than pros, simply put.
This professor is nice, really he is sweet. His teaching style is boring but if you pay attention you will learn a little. Just read on your own to be honest, you'll learn better. Forget office hours I feel like he doesn't even understand what he is teaching himself.

Exams are very difficult. Read each chapter and do as many problems as you can; thats the only way youll pass the exams. He has terrible time management. He lingered on 2 chapters for weeks, then 1 week before the final assigned more hw and left us to cover 4 chapters, all of which were on the final. His accent does NOT effect understanding him

By no means is this class easy, and this professor doesn't necessarily make it easier, but it's not impossible to learn, like some people make it seem here. This professor is obviously very intelligent and is willing to explain any question anyone has. It helps to sit closer to the front of the room (common sense) to understand him, as he's old.

Do not take this Professor whatever you do take anyone else, his tests are extremely confusing he puts things on there he never taught. Will spend 3 weeks on a chapter then test on 6 for midterm and same for final. Lectures are extremely boring and hes never on time or organized as far as lectures go.

Please dont take him. Dont waste money or time. You will learn nothing. He knows stuff but he does not know how to properly manage time. A lot of cancelled lectures, final was on chapter 9,10,11,13,14 while he barely covered 10.
Worst professor I've ever taken at this college. You have to study from the textbook in this class, because the professor is no help at all. He spends an hour talking to himself each lecture. Curves the final because of the low pass rate. I didn't know a single answer on the final and I barely passed because of the curve. Miserable professor.
Avoid him, technologically inept, and assumes the students are the fools for not finding the non existent lectures and assignments. Me and my classmates are currently trying to get him to respond to our emails with no luck. Skip him, you will be wasting time and money.
If you can avoid him, do it!
he is by the WORST professor at Brooklyn College, I do not know how they are still keeping him as staff, doesn't answer emails, leaves everything for last minute, and you cannot connect with him through zoom either. JUST AVOID HIM, HE IS HORRIBLE.
