He gets off subject every once in a while, but he explains things quite well. His class is pretty laid back and he's helpful to students. I took him for English Comp 1 and 2.

He's a pretty nice guy. He does ramble on a bit, but he is fair on grading. Just make sure you read whatever he assigns, b/c he gives a lot of quizzes.

He gives a lot of quizzes. He grades very hard on your papers, but he is more than willing to help you and make your paper better. He definantly improved my writting this semester

Mr. Horner grades papers very hard, but is more than willing to walk you through them. He gives a lot of quizzes, which can help bring your grade back up, but only one person in our class got an A.

Mr. Horner met, perhaps exceeded, my expectations that I would receive fair, critical evaluation of my work. Over the term, my writing improved. The only negative assesments I would make are that Horner isn't always as prepared as he might be and sometimes seems to work out the particulars of an assignment as he is giving it. He's good-not perfect.

Yes, there will be papers, and they will be hard. However, you're not going to have to listen to one precious thing that wont help you write them. His lectures are inspired, this is a man who loves English. He works in the Writer's Center too and will help you there.

take very detailed notes. the research paper is hard. he rambles on about pointless things, but hes very helpful if u just ask. he doesnt grade very fairly. if he tells u to read a chapter in ur book, that means u have a quiz on it next class. make a cheat sheet of everything in bold and keep it on ur desk while he gives u the test.he'll never know

He's not that easy but is willing to help. His jokes are bad, real bad, but he's a nice guy. Just as long as you go to get help from him you'll pass. I got an A and I can't write to save my life.

I think Prof. Horner is great - he's not a teacher for people with nonexistant attention spans, but he knows his subject, and is very willing to give help to those who ask for it. I can see how his ramblings could get old, but I found them charming and engaging. Really, I adore this guy - I'm taking his English lit class!

after my last comp 2 teacher i think mr. Horner is great! he gives you exactly what you need to know and more. all you have are the tests and papers..no surprise quiz's no journals...if you take the time to do the work then you should do better then just pass his class.

I found the class incredibly engaging and informative. Mr. Horner was very effective in using film and literature to discuss the objectives of the class. The class assignments and papers where well designed to help the students comprehend the material presented. I would like to see more of these kinds of classes taught.

Mr. Horner is a funnt Guy. All you do during class is listen to his lecture. If you pay attention and do what he says you will be ok. He is very helpfull and cares alot about his students. Grades paper really hard.. Over all i liked the class. it was hard but i learned a lot. it prepared me fot comp2. Very good, but also a very Hard teacher.

People say he is a hard grader but what is right is right and what is wrong is wrong. I?m sorry but you can?t get away with putting a period after the parenthesis.

I don't understand why some student can't see what a wonderful teacher Mr. Horner truly is! He is the most caring, helpful professor I have had at San Jac. If you take his class you won't be sorry and he will give you as much help as you need.

Horner was entertaining but he was completely unorganized. If you like lectured type classes with no homework and you can teach yourself, take his class. I, however, like to be taught and be prepared for a test. I learned after his first test (which i failed miserably) that i was going to have to teach myself in order to pass. Which i did.

He's extremely clear with what he wants but grading is slow.I think he really likes to hear himself talk though. But aside from that you can make the grade you want!

Mr. Horner was a great teacher. Not only was he super helpful when you asked him questions, but he was very specific during class about what he wanted for essays. As long as you do what he says, he grades decently easy. He was a little slow in grading, but tries his best to have everything back in a timely manner.

He is a GREAT teacher. Never gives homework! Ive never recieved such high grades on essays. He is funny but sometimes can be boring. TAKE HIS CLASS. Pay attention, follow directions and you'll pass with ease

Not a big fan of English, but he is a great teacher. Exams are kinda difficult but he makes sure you understand everything you need for the exams. So its all on you to attend class and study. he Is funny and makes class enjoyable! Recommend him even if you struggle in English!

He is a good guy, polite, and he also express himself really well. HOWEVER, I would NEVER this his class again. He doesn't grade your papers and tests on time. You're basically taking your 3rd exam of the semester, and he didn't even grade your 1st test. He also talk too much and don't let students interact with him. His assignments r not easy too.

Took his class online and found that he would take forever to post assignments or take forever to grade papers, which was really frustrating. Class was easy though and I felt that he graded fairly.

Great online professor. Outlines exactly what he wants you to touch on in every essay so it is pretty easy to get an A. Responds to emails very quickly and works with grade discrepancies. Overall very nice guy. As long as you follow the rubric exactly, this class should be an easy A. I got A's on all of my papers by doing this.

Good prof. Everyone in my study group made an A. Not much reading. I had to miss class for a week because of work and he was really cool about it.

I took this class over a summer, so it was obviously condensed, and the papers were close together, but he was very lenient and was willing to work with the student when it came to getting the assignments completed and turned in. Very fair.

Best English professor! I took this class on-line and loved it. He is very clear on what is expected on each paper. Explains step by step. If you are still confused, e-mail him and he will give an extra explanation. He is there to help out every student.

Pretty cool teacher. He outlined what he wanted specifically and he was super easy to talk too. Do your works put in a little effort and you will get an A. He will talk a lot so get ready for that. You dont really have to take notes except when he talks about your essays.

There are 4 essays due three are from stories in the book and one is over a poem. Instructions on how to write your essays are very clear and to the point. There is a few other assignments that are not difficult. Do your work and you will pass. Overall great professor I would highly reccomend taking this class!

Super laid back teacher and actually wants you to improve your writing, not just crank out essays. Only had about 5-6 essays for a regular semester class and no text was book needed. Show up to class with your paper (or least a started draft) and you should pass since he gives participation grades. Taking him again for Engl 1302

He's the most lenient teacher ever. I didn't have to read a lot since there are many online resources. The second half of the semester was so laid back that I only need to write 2 papers, no more discussion board. The class is easy overall.

He is funny and understanding. He will adjust assignment due dates in order for you to complete them. He is also understanding on what you are comfortable on reading and writing. He is AWESOME!!! This class was very easy just turn in your work and youll pass.

I have always enjoyed English courses but this Professor will make anyone who does not, really enjoy it too! Weekly assignments (does not post ahead of time) include article readings & total four papers (assigned reading, contrast and compare, research and reflection). Understanding and easy on deadlines. This is my first review and he is worth it!

He likes to talk a lot, he is really nice. W e only did about 4 papers he tells you what he wants to see (he doesn't give an outline). He can be a tough when grading, but that's why we have each other to check on each other's essays and see if we are missing things. Pretty easy class.

Professor Horner is one the best professors I've ever had. He's really accommodating and offers a lot of leniency on deadlines. As far as grades are concerned there's a handful of participation grades and 4 papers throughout the semester. The requirements for each paper are very clear and the topics are very straightforward. Would take again.

Mr. Horner is by far one of the most chill professors I've had. He's very understanding and is always willing to help out. Our class got cut short due to COVID and we moved to online. Even when we were online he was still just as lenient and probably even more. We just had 4 essays and they were very easy.

Not a bad class. I put little effort into my essays and got an excellent grade. It took a month to get a grade on the first essay, not sure why but we didn't have much HW that month. I turned in an essay late and he was very understanding because of the Rona. Make sure to use the feedback from your last essay to correct your next essay.

I would DEFINITLY recommend!!! and that's coming from me who took this class before with another professor and got a D. He tells you CLEARLY what is expected for each of his 4 papers, 1 group discussion board, and a few individual posts. He also asks for your draft first so you have more time to complete the actual paper & tells you what to fix!

easy as long as you do your work. four papers and a couple of weekly assignments on the online textbook but those are pretty much a guaranteed 100. he works with you both in and out of class to help you write your essays and is lenient and gives you a little room to turn your assignments in. a professor that TRULY cares about your success.

Been out of school for 3 years. NOT a fan of ENGL classes. Needed this for next degree. TAKE HIM! Yes, there is reading but it is not difficult. The assignments/quizzes are super easy. I had 3 papers for this course. Just follow the criteria and the formatting and you'll do great. I actually liked some of the content I read and learned a lot!

He is a very nice person. He is not very strict about deadlines and gives out free 100s for just completing the daily work assigned. I would take his class again if he wasn't so tough when grading our essays. Most of his class is spent doing independent work on essays instead of actually teaching us new writing techniques too.

Overall, really liked the professor, although he did provide too many counterexamples from time to time, I found his lectures very interesting and informational. His assignments are easy as long as you follow his due dates.

Class is very easy. Most of the grades are essays (4). But they aren't hard, papers were usually around 2-3 pages and maximum word count of 750. He's very clear on what he wants and has plenty of resources to help you with writing the essays. I really liked this class and professor, would recommend to someone looking for an easy online class.

I took him in my first semester and was a great professor. The assignments were easy; as long as you do them and show up to class. He will also have minor grades while creating the papers which are each worth 5 points. 4 papers total. He is a bit of a slow grader but is reasonable. Lecture can be long and get off topic. I will be taking him again.

Only three papers one was a research paper. He gave an easy 100 on all assignments besides the papers but was pretty generous with those grades. The only thing is he took a long time to grade. One paper he didn't grade for 4 weeks.

Very easy, there are only 4 essays which he helped to guide during different sections. He would assign one paragraph each day and he would put you into groups where everyone reviews and makes corrections. At the end of the 5 days you use for this, your paper is complete.

I enjoyed taking this class and it was fairly easy, however he is a pretty tough grader. He is very nit-picky when he grades the essays but as long as you fix your mistakes on the next essay you will do well. I would recommend taking this professor.

I took Professor Horner's class this semester and I loved every minute of it. He has an optimistic, animated and empathetic personality, and gave great feedback when editing my papers. Make sure to complete your papers on time, but he is usually very flexible when given appropriate reasons for overdue work. I wish I could take his class again.

4 papers with a lot of misc completion grades. Will offer extensions on papers. He likes to do peer reviews where other classmates will read and critique your rough drafts. Great professor!

Mr. Horner has an independent-teaching style where he allows students to explore material and utilizes class time for discussions/deep-dives onto various topics. it was an easy class, assignments were very straightforward, professor was nice and understanding, he did take a while to grade, i enjoyed most of the papers he asked us to write bc they were enjoyable talkable topics, if your taking english online I would def recommend him!

If you want to get A in engl just take him. only you need to do is write 3 to 4 essay and go to class everyday and you good. Give lot of time to complete essay also but he is little off the topic in class.
