The absolute worst prof i have ever had, I guess you don't need to know how to spell to teach stats. Don't worry though, he is so bad, that he begins to feel sorry for you and will push you through anyways.

Horrible horrible professor. Was very unclear in both his speaking and lectures. Would give practice quizzes full of mistakes. Rushed through lectures and didn't solve any problems out on the board, or when he did they were very rushed. Hard to understand any of his quizzes because they were written in broken confusing sentences.

Quizzes were fair, at least it was what you expected from classes. But the final exam was a nightmare that was impossible to get a good grade. Under the situation that COVID-19 is here, every prof in ADM2350 doesn't show leniency to students and makes the final harder than usual. Very depressing experience with this prof.

I know it is hard for profs to fit into the online learning system, but it doesn't mean that you can sit back and stop teaching. The prof seldom holds live online classes, which will leave you confused if you have some questions. The level of difficulty for the deliverables remains the same as physical classes, and yet the teaching goes from 1 to 0

The prof only holds a live lecture in the first week, and then you are on your own by watching his long pre-recorded videos. The prof has a very thick accent, which will give you a tough time understanding the concepts. This is a math-intensive and self-paced class, so don't choose it unless you are very comfortable with the two requirements.

I don't know what happened to Telfer this semester because every course that I am taking right now is harder than the previous sem. This prof keeps using an asynchronous style to teach his class, but the level of difficulty for each quiz doubles even though he teaches so little. If u r into this subject, do some learning yourself.

His goal isn't to teach but to lower your grade and the class's average through any means necessary, including unfair ones.

One of the most confusing classes that I have ever taken at Telfer. The course material is already hard to understand not to mention his very thick accent. He changed the format of quizzes from typed questions to MCQs, which makes things harder since now you can't even get points for writing formulas. Even if you get A in this class, u learn nothin

I've never seen such a horrible educator. This man uses recordings from last year for online class and do not teach, while giving much more harder written quizzes compared with last few semesters. His accent is heavy too even I'm good at accents. Please please do not choose his class!!!

Took this class online, and understandable that there are no in-person lectures available. However, the prof is very lazy and posts recordings from 2 years ago, the sound quality is terrible and a waste of time to watch lectures. Avoid at all costs! This prof seems like a nice enough guy but is so lazy. Posts videos from 2020 and some of his explanations don't even make sense. Quizzes are hard and his accent is very thick. Do yourself a favour and steer clear.

Just completed the final exam in this class. It was the most disorganised experience that I have ever had at Telfer. Countless typos in every Q and some questions are clearly made to lower the grades since he seldom mention them. The course content is actually pretty useful, but his teaching makes it a confused and nonsensical GPA terminator.

I found I knew more going into the lecture than I did coming out. I would go through and understand the content beforehand and came out wondering if we were on the same topic. The lectures are quite literally just the textbook made into slide form. He makes no effort to teach the content, he just rambles through. He is terrible at re-explaining.

Terrible professor, his midterms are hard and he keeps on misleading the class on what we need to study. He also has a really strong accent which is a very bad combination for a math class and in midterm 1 the class average was 54% and for midterm 2 the class average was 35%.

It is very difficult to understand the lectures and the tests are very complicated. Please don't take him as your professor. Although he is very responsive to queries and is a very caring person, his way of teaching makes it very hard to understand the concepts and the lectures.

I'm doing horrible and i'm so terrified for the final exam. I don't know what to do anymore. I'm at the end here. Like I'm done. I tried everything and I don't know what else I need to do to just pass this course. I don't even care what grade I get anymore, I just want to pass...

The lecture is unclear he just read from the PowerPoint which makes no sense and shows he is not prepared (no clear example during the lecture). Exams are not related to the Assignment or the DGD question. Most of the DGD questions were created by the TA. The only positive thing he will reply to your email quickly.

He completely threw us off at what was coming for the final exam. Completely different. Maybe I would be more accepting of that if he actually taught those things in class but no lol

I feel bad not liking his class cause he does care but if your class is averaging 35% on a midterm you're doing something wrong, Midterms and final exam was nothing like he taught us there was such an emphasis on economics on exams when class material was nothing like that. This is business math should not be on the same difficulty as stem.

The exam was terrible ( he had said it would be easy, since the class average was 35% for the second midterm ), in class lectures focus on things that will not show up in the tests or exams. professor focuses on embellishing questions that are already hard to begin with. No concept of tailoring the program to the students mathematical level.

yuri himself isn't a terrible prof, but his midterms and exams are not indicative of any content learned. review for exam was virtually useless. avoid if possible.

Professor Yuri's way of teaching is so insanely confusing. I've attended only two lectures so far and I am completely lost. It was very hard to understand him and he often goes all over the place with his lectures. I feel like all of the students are scrambling to write down whatever he puts on the board (if it's even legible). Try to avoid him.

He is extremely difficult to understand, both his writing and his speech. It's not necessarily his accent, he speaks extremely quickly, and his writing is also difficult to read. And the way he writes on the blackboard is incoherent. He goes through the slides very fast, learning from the slides and the textbook is the best plan.

Do not take this class with this teacher! Save yourself the trouble and pick anyone else. He purposefully decides to confuse you. In the scenario that you still do have him, just read the text book and the slide notes yourself. He doesn't teach well and is super difficult to understand with his accent.

I studied really hard since day 1 without any breaks, but my first midterm score was only 0.5/20. When I spoke to the professor, he said he couldn't help and suggested to drop the course. While my papers show that this student studied hard. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL, YOU CANNOT EVEN UNDERSTAND ANYTHING IN CLASS.

Run far and fast. He is EXTREMELY hard to understand. I swear he wasn't speaking English half the time, and that has nothing to do with this course. Took me 3 weeks to drop the course and pick it up with a different prof in a different semester. If you wanna stick it out? Catch me praying for you!

Almost impossible to succeed. The preparation for midterm examinations is beyond useless, he says one thing will be on the test and to prepare heavily for it and then come test time the "all important concept" is nowhere to be seen. His lectures almost equally as useless, he will not teach you. You would be better off doing this course on your own.

His tests/midterms are very hard and especially do not reflect what was given in past midterm and assignments. Additionally his Russian accent is hard to understand. He could at least curve the midterms.

Hilariously awful. Cannot teach to save his life. Khan Academy required for this course. Find another prof at all costs.

Do not take him; it will ruin your mental health. I know many people complain about professors who aren't that bad, but believe me when I say he is difficult to understand, and his class average is low. I do not doubt that he is not knowledgeable; he has many degrees and has put in the work. But he is a bad teacher, and you will fail.

Worst professor I've ever had. If you have him change immediately. Haven't learned a single thing from him, he's rude, does not make sense, and likes it when his students fail. Ottawa needs to review who they hire, or at least hire someone who can speak English.

Yuri assumes his students know everything and skips over a lot of information, so be ready to teach yourself most of the class. His first midterm was moderate, however his second was beyond difficult and most failed. Additionally, he is very hard to understand as he has a strong accent. If you have the opportunity get a different teacher.

AVOID AT ALL COST!! I am 100% bilingual and could not understand what he was saying due to his accent. He makes lectures so confusing and the TA was useless. Get ready to learn by yourself. I had to get a tutor and learn from Youtube. Assignments and Exams are very tough but he is a very generous grader. Great person, but horrendous teacher.

Once you are done linear algebra, lectures are almost impossible to understand. Assignments can help boost grades. Final exam was extremely challenging even though he claimed it was ridiculously easy. If you have the option, switch profs or take online.

I'm surprised this Yuri is able to be a university professor. His lectures are unbelievably pointless, it's impossible to understand him and listening to him try to explain the material makes it even more confusing. He also said a textbook was required for the course but I never once used it because of how useless it was, a waste of 80 dollars

Yuri is a great person, but not a great professor. He spends most of his class doing mathematical proofs that are not going to be evaluated. If you have good basis in Calculus I and II you should be fine, but if you struggle in math definitely avoid him.

Really heavy accent and hard to understand. He'll go on a concept for 30 minutes and then say 'but you don't need to know this". Exams are hard. Review from grade 12 calculus while adding on concepts like integrals, integration, logarithms, marginal cost...If you can avoid him do, but if you can't, study hard and work hard. If I passed you can too.

Bro seriously made the contestants retake EVERY ROUND of this two round highschool contest. Accidentally sent out answers,had cheating issues in the second round. instead of trying to mark the tests/find the cheaters bro jsut makes everyone re do the test again. really confusing questions, always wrong/mistaken questions in every year of the test.

Hard to follow in class due to a strong accent and unclear slides. Lectures often jump between topics and ramble. Quiz 1–2 matched the assignments, but Quiz 3 and the final included topics not covered in class. Before the last quiz/exam he said, “Don't worry, I'll likely need to curve.”
