Don't skip class, theres no point. Her classes are simple. She's clear when teaching, will give help and examples if you ask for it. Down to earth, but will not take anyone's crap if you decide to be disrespectful. She gives 4 tests through out the course. Participation will be 5% of the class and the class over all is easy if you do your work.

Math is difficult for me as it is and taking this class online made it a lot more difficult, but Professor Smith sent us constant reminders about assignments, and was always willing to help. I wish I would have taken her in class because she seems like a great teacher. Would NOT recommend taking this online,but definitely in class!

I highly recommend her as a teacher. Nothing is ever going to come easy, however she takes the time out to help you with your math. If you need help on something she has office hours and always makes time when needed. If you take her class there is no reason you should not pass.

She is the first teacher I have encountered that used no text book but rather embraces technology to the fullest by using amazing computer based learning system that progresses on your skill level. BEWARE it cost money to have access to it and if you lag behind you will fail. Also make sure you have the money to buy access to this ALEKS system.

I never liked Maths because just couldnt understand it but, prof smith helped me a lot with my math and I grew to like and enjoy the class. She is a really good prof and explains the topics in the simplest way where everyone can learn. Once your homework is done and you come to class you are guaranteed to pass her class. She is the best.

I took her last summer, and she is great. She will literally sit next to students to help them no matter how long it would take. Her attitude towards students succeeding is great. If you dont put in the work, you simply may not pass. I received an 100% as my final grade. This is my last semester, but I would recommend her to others student.

I refuse to take my next math course with any other math professor except Yusefa Smith! She did a live zoom 4 days a week this past summer (6 wk course). I was already petrified of math and yet taking it online made my fear even worse! She was amazing had she has the tools to effectively teach math online and live! She really is a one of a kind!

Prof Smith is a great professor I was not good in math and the videos she provided for homework helped me tremendously. There are a good amount of videos, but you never feel like she just gives them to you just because... As long as you do the homework you will pass the quiz/tests. My experience with Professor Smith was very rewarding, I took this class before but didn't pass so this was my second time around. She made herself available to answer any questions we had. She gives lectures 2x per week and offers multiple videos to help you understand the subject this was very helpful. I choose her for my next semester's class.

Professor Yusefa Smith is a great teacher! You can really tell that she puts a lot of time into her lessons and assignments. As long as you are attending/following along with lectures and completing the homework assignments, you will do well. Math is a tough subject for me and I have made some serious progress in this class.

Professor Smith took the time in our first online class to teach and layout how to be a successful student with online learning. Provided helpful tips on online study groups and how to navigate CCP's web site. Her teaching style is straight forward and truly took the time to understand students questions and answer them fully.

The online course was very organized and structured. Videos served great purpose, and making sure you watch the videos from beginning to end is crucial. Taking your time to solve problems and clicking the correct answer. This class teaches you to be independent and responsible. You cant be lazy. You need to do the work, and follow directions.

Professor Smith was so helpful. The modules were so easy, and the videos were easier to understand. The homework were so practical, it gives a good explaining about the homework.

I took professor Yusefa in summer 21. She does give a lot of work, mainly videos to watch before doing your homework. UTILIZE homework extensions!!! It helped me a lot and gave me more time to work through things I did not understand. She's great and I will be taking her again.

I think Professor Smith is a wonderful teacher. I have honestly never done well in math and struggled, I feel like I was always lost and overwhelmed, I never felt this way with her lectures. Her teaching style made me feel very comfortable and eased my math anxiety.

Professor Smith is the first math instructor I've EVER had who taught in such a way I was able to retain information. I used to panic when it came to test and such but the way P. Smith runs her course I've learned so much and actualy retained what I learned! I am taking her for my next math that's how confident I am in her teaching skills.

I chose Prof Smith based on other raters. I found their assessments to be accurate. Prof Smith gives very detailed/easy to follow lecture videos to help tackle the ALEKS homework. You must manage time well and go above/beyond your usual effort to pass this class. She's thorough in her lesson plan & will get your best if you apply yourself.

She is very clear what she expects from you. She does a great job of explaining the work step by step. All Of what you learn will be on the tests no surprises. DO YOUR HOMEWORK, the practice helps. I would for sure take her again.

Professor Yuseffa is a real gem. I was nervous about taking a math class- its been a while since high school- but she made it easy to understand. There is a lot of mandatory lectures and homework, but it forces you to learn the material. You wont be stressing out about exams since you would have mastered the material. Loved her!

Shes clear on what is expected. She gives the ability to do your work in advance and as long as you pay attention to the corresponding videos for the week, it is really easy to pass.

The recorded lectures going over each week's topics are thoughtful and really explain the concepts in a complementary way to the way that Aleks teaches. Between the technology of Aleks and the recorded lectures and homework grasping the concepts was easy. I've never gotten above a C grade in math until before Professor Smith's class.

This is my 2nd time having Prof. Smith as my math professor. Prof Smith is the best math teacher I have EVER had. She posts math videos that ask questions along the way to test your knowledge, we use a platform called Aleks that will not let you proceed to the next question until the topic is mastered, and what is expected of the students as well as the grading criteria is straight forward.

I would take Professor Smith's class again in a heartbeat. She really takes her time to make sure you understand all the concepts and her explanations are always so easy to follow. She always makes time for you outside of class to go over subjects you're struggling with and never makes you feel bad for not knowing something.

I took Professor Smith for FNMT 118 which was asynchronous and online. Professor Smith has an easy to understand and very detailed syllabus so you know what to expect. She is quick to respond and her lecture videos are easy to understand. Before taking this class make sure you brush on on adding and subtracting integers. Overall, great class.

Professor Smith was great. Always make sure to be ahead with assignments since many are due each week. Doing the Aleks homework, quizzes and tests were fairly easy. I was never great at math but to my surprise I excelled in the class this semester and I believe that is because of the way we learned the material.

Professor Smith set up the class in a way that made it very easy and understandable. There's quite a bit of homework, but as long as you stay on top of it, you'll be fine. Professor Yusefa tells you exactly how it is beginning of semester. And it is up to you how your semester and grade ends. Although it's not a lot of personal time in class she does provide an ample amount of videos and examples, a decent workbook to practice and some in class games. This was my second time taking algebra FNMT 118 but super grateful with taking professor smith, Even though math will probably still be my weakest subject passing with a C. She gives you clear introduction with how she grades, Participation, needs CLEAR explanations for any excused of absence or emergency and she very patient individual person.

Prof Smith is one of my all time favorite professors, she is awesome and makes sure to explain everything clearly. If someone asks a question about something she already went over she doesn't mind going over it again. She is truly one of the best math profs out there, if you are struggling with math please take her, she will do everything she can.

She is definitely a great professor, but CCP decided to use Pearson, which meant we had a ridiculously long and tough final. This is foundational math.... how could anyone do well in that final exam? Please go back to the other math text you were using the semester before.

There's a good amount of homework and videos to watch that can at times feel overwhelming, but they really do cover a lot of material, and it really helps for the tests. She clearly cares about her students and it shows in how she presents the material. This class helped me to be more confident in my math skills, I'd recommend her.

I want them to know that she's a very good professor but you have to be on time, doing your homework & participating in class. She wants her students to be succeed. Since I was a kid I didn't like math but because of her professionalism & her patience I did it. I am sory for giving you hard time. I hope to have you for next math class. Thanks

Honestly she was amazing, I am not the best at math and I usually have an average test grade of 60, but because she is a great teacher my average test score was actually 87! I would definitely take her class again.

Amazing Professor

Professor Yusefa is very intelligent and professional. She uses lecture time wisely and she uses different platforms to teach. She provides materials that help aid in the learning process

Professor Yusefa is a great professor. It's a lot of homework, but the homework videos are kind of like class outside of class. After watching the videos I found it easier to do the homework. There's also a quiz every week, but if you do the practice quizzes and exams you won't have any surprises. Would definitely take another class with her.
