He makes The Subject I Hate So Much Simpler. Gives Reviews Prior to every test & His HW isnt collected, its Considered Extra Credit (if u want to do it) But Very Helpful, Motivative & Patient

He is a great teacher. He never calls on anyone to the board. He never collects HW and yes he does consider it extra credit.If you don't understand something he stay 5 min after class to explain. Very easy going.

Very pleasant guy. He is easy going and patient. Reviews before each exam and the exams are fair and easy. Best math professor. The home work is extra credit and it can really help your final grade so do it. It also helps for revision. You will not regret taking him. very, very nice professor.

Prof. Y. Valcourt was very helpful throughout the MA 275 (Fall 2006) semester, took his time and explained in full each exam and course requirements (NO SURPRISES - very clear). Excellent Prof. clearly explains everything. He doesn't check homework, but if you do the homework, you'll ace the class. He'll take time to explain things and he even had an extra class before the final for those who felt they needed help. One of the best.

Very easygoing professor, doesn't talk too much but the way he teaches was really helpful. I went from failing the first test to getting a B+ in the class. I'd recommend taking this professor if math scares you a little bit. Reviews before each test and the reviews are similar to actual test.

Super nice and funny. Although I failed, that was my fault on my part. Despite that, he explained everything easily. You'll be handed a bunch of worksheets. Review sheets are similar to quiz. There's homework from the text book.

Great professor, very smart and funny. He gets straight to the point but will go over something if even one person doesn't completely get it. Stays late to help students who have questions. Overall a great professor who is very good at what he does. Only downside is he nitpicks on test so he takes points off for minor things. Highly Recommended!

He is extremely helpful! do all homeworks it will help, and pay attention, and you will understand this class. i took this 3 times and had a hard time, but with him it was so easy. he makes you understand and wont move on if you are in trouble. NO PHONES otherwise you will fail.

Really good. Gives 4 tests and drops the lowest one (excluding final which would be the 5th test). Explains things step by step really well. If you want to learn, you will. My only complaint is that he was a little difficult to understand at times (maybe 10% of the time), but he would repeat himself if you asked. I would highly recommend him.

He is amazing professor! Extremely helpful and is very passionate about teaching. This was my second time taking MAT1375 and the first time around I didn't understand a thing! I learned a lot this semester from this man! If you're struggling in math, this is the guy to take!

Excellent professor! He makes the explanation simple in a way you could understand and I hate math. But on the other hand he is a harsh grader make sure you don't miss a sign because you will get points off. He gives reviews sheets and the test looks just like that. He covers everything you need for the final. I recommend him.

Very clear and informative. If you don't understand something just ask and he explains it very well. He moves at the perfect pace also. Because he gives so many examples in class you really don't have to do any homework. I had the textbook but I never used it once as doing examples in class as well as the review sheets before exams was enough.

He's serious in most of the time but he's clear with the lecture. You need to get read to practice a lot in his class in order to have a good grade for the exams.

This professor one of the best I've ever had. The only bad thing about him is that he grade you only based on four tests and the final each test is 25% of the grade and he drops the lowest excluding the final. That means you must do great in the first three tests in order to have a big chance of passing the final and getting an A for the class.

I had him for 1275 and 1475 it was awesome but however you have to do your part and study the review sheets really well in order to get a good grade for me I easily got an A for both of these math classes because I studied the review sheets that he gives for every exams

Exams are pretty simple and easy if you just study the review sheet he gives before every exam. He is very detailed and informative he explains everything in a simple way that you can actually understand the work. I would take his class again if I see his name for higher level math classes.

He's very disciplined. He always hands out worksheets of the topics covered in class and goes over a set amount of problems per worksheet. He also has a neat freak quirk, but this is compatible with mathematics, where you need to be able to CLEARLY see the steps in order to understand it. Highly recommend. Wish I could learn from him again.

out of all the math professors that CUNY has to offer he's the best, he goes through everything step by step and makes sure you're understanding what you're learning. His test review is straight forward everything on those review sheets are on the test. Make sure you attend every class though it makes understanding the material that much easier.

In high school, I never took trigonometry people used to complain how that was the hardest math class in high school. I took trigonometry with this professor he made it look like a walk in the park, very straight forward of way teaching his exams are based on review sheets he gives. Makes complicated topics easy and understandable.

I took this professor before for MAT 1275 and I received an A, I took MAT 1475 last semester and I ended up dropping it. Now I'm retaking the MAT 1475 with professor Valcourt and he made the course materials a lot easier and understandable than my previous professor. His performance of teaching Calculus 1 was 10/10 I highly recommend him.

He is one of the few professors who actually know how to teach. He teaches in a good pace. Exams are clear and based on the review sheets that he gives just different numbers. He is willing to work with struggling students and is available for office hours. I highly recommend him to those who want to learn MAT 1275.
