I had Professor green For ACC 203 in Spring 2015. She came was one of the most helpful, inspirational, and professional teachers I have ever had. If you need help she will be there for you, as long as you respect her she will respect you. Go to class!, participate, and do the homework, there is no reason you cant get an A. Overall Great Teacher!!
I like her
She really wants students to do well in her class, but in order to do well, you have to put a decent amount of time into studying. There's online homework almost every week, and it usually takes me an hour or so to do. She gives you 4 easy pop quizzes, 3 exams, and 4 take home problems. Her lectures can end early, so its a manageable 4 hour class
Professor Green was great! I appreciated her organization and class structure. Be prepared to work a little bit, but if you don't mind attending class and doing a little homework, you should be fine.
Dr. Green goes extremely fast in class. Be read to not understand or learn a thing she says because she lectures so fast. She is always on a schedule, so be ready to just work a lot. Homework every week, plenty of pop quizzes, and three extremely hard exams.
She is very nice, polite, and helps who works hard. At first I did not want to take her but now I still cant say I would take her again, but if it was my only option I would be glad to be her. Accounting is hard, but for me it comes a little easier. If you study a bit you will pass.
Professor Green is extremely caring and truly wants her students to do well; however, she goes through the material quite fast and not in sufficient detail to succeed on the exams. There are pop quizzes after each chapter is covered and weekly my accounting lab assignments.
She move's a little too fast and is sometimes hard to keep up with.
Managerial Accounting is a hard subject but she does her best to help students understand. She gives us a notes packet to fill out and follow along with in class which is super help in & out of the classroom. She is super willing to help and wants students to succeed! The class sucks tho lol good luck and study!! I got an A with moderate effort
She's great! you'll not find it so hard. Gives a lot of extra credit. Attendance is MANDATORY. 3 tests (each with course packet + test review). 2 days of test review. Not too hard but you need to follow up with her. weekly online homework (not hard). 5 easy projects (consider them as extra credit to boost your grades). Her tests are straight frwrd.
Very tough but youll leave the class knowing a lot on managerial accounting. Her exams are difficult. Make sure you study otherwise your screwed. Shes there for you though and also make sure you come on time to class the day you have an assignment due otherwise she wont except it, even if your 1 minute late. Discipline is key with this professor.
Professor Green is a good professor, if you pay attention and come to class you will not have a problem doing well in the class. There are a lot of pop quizzes but she gives huge hints when there going to be one and they're usually only 5 questions max. If you don't show up to class she will make sure you fail so I recommend attending class.
Overall great professor that brings a lot of real world examples into class. Provides class handouts that are super helpful. Attendance important or you will get behind. 3 group projects including 2 that use Excel. Professor was always willing to help if you ask either through email or office hours.
Not the best but also not the worst, she gives you handouts for every chapter, but her quizzes and exams are sort of tough, especially the exams. She is so extra in terms of exams as she always prints out 2/3 versions cuz she knows there are students that copy, and also she makes you put your bags watches wallets in the front of every exam
Solid choice for ACC 203, class is laid out for you in note packets and then exam review packets. Material can get hard at times but she definitely does her best to cater to her students who genuinely try. Very strict with group work, makes you split up work equally and record what everyone does. Definitely take though.
She's a really helpful professor. She will do her best to help you with any difficulties. Took one of her classes in the summer. She does explain what needs to be done in class. We had a quiz everyday there wasn't an exam. She'd go over the material before exams and quizzes.
Professor Green is an amazing teacher! She makes her own packets to follow along in class and the tests line up pretty well to them give or take a few questions. There are a few pop quizzes but she gives huge hints. The projects are easy and good grade boosters! Definitely, recommend her for managerial accounting!
Best professor I have had. The class itself isn't easy, but she is a great teacher; you'll actually learn. Lots of studying is required for a good grade, but she prints out notes to follow along in class which is really helpful.
She is better than the accounting prof I have now, Sarah Fulmer, because she has everyone print out notes to use during class. She gives plenty of example problems to use rather than just lecture the entire time. The only thing is that she is kinda rude & doesn't care a lot about her students. When you ask a Q she will make you come to office hours
LOVED HER. She gives the best handouts/fill in the blank notes. She is so willing to meet with you outside of class. She gives a lot of quizzes. I recommend going to office hours because she can just give you practice problems and help you study before a test. She makes all group project fair . I really recommend!
If you have a chance to take her do it! she cares so much and wants you to succeed. if you do what she tells you to do, you'll be successful in the class without a doubt. I'm not a fan of accounting but she makes the class interesting. i got an F in financial accounting but an A in managerial and its all because of the professor. take her class!!
This professor was knowledgable but WAS SO RUDE-- for no reason. Always in a bad mood or just super passive aggressive. It was a downer to go to her class. Accounting is already not fun. She gave us handouts that were fill in the blank which was nice. Tests and quizzes were a bit difficult. Be on her good side and show up to class.
Professor Green is one of the most understanding professors at the school, and is very well versed in her content. Great teacher
Really great professor. Created a handout that you use the entire semester with fill in the blanks. Show up and fill it out and you will not fail at all. It is step by step of all problems. You can use the handout on all quizzes and exams. She gives you everything needed to get an A, it is up to you to do it. Actually understand accounting now.
She creates a handout that you use the entire semster. If you show up to her class you will do very well. she really cares about her students. I think she is the best professor I have ever had.
teacher fails to interact with her students on a human level. clearly needs a raise because she always seems pissed off if the class is not understanding the extremely difficult concepts of accounting. Class is detail oriented and she forces you to engulf your life in accounting. Would only suggest taking her if you are accounting major.
Good teacher, everything on her notes is what is on test, not difficult to pass
She is a very harsh grader. She goes over notes very quickly so if you miss something you are basically screwed.
She gives you a hand out which is step by step. Just show up and fill it out. The tests are based on what is done in the handout. There is a group project but it's super simple. She tells you how to do it. She makes accounting easy. There is HW every week but it's all online and you have unlimited attempts to get it right.
She really tries to act like Accounting should consume your life. Her tests are impossible and she really doesn't care if you succeed or not. She only cares about the top kids in the class. Also, the thing I really dont like is that she displays your quizzes at the front of the room for everyone to see. DO NOT take this class if you do not have to
Prof. Green means well but she believes that your whole life should be revolved around accounting. She moves too fast during lectures for anyone to comprehend, doesnt answer questions when they are asked, and displays your quizzes to the whole class in the front of the room. Avoid her like the plague
Overall I really enjoyed my experience with Green. We did have a quiz after every chapter but they helped me stay on track. The tests aren't that hard if you study, and the homework is light and her lectures are really good.
You won't need a textbook for this class, she has you print out a paper copy of worksheet notes you do together throughout the semester. There are quizzes after each chapter and the exams are difficult but she cares about her students. You need to show up to pass, If you miss two or more classes you will struggle to catch up. Overall good prof
Some students don't like Professor Green because she doesn't coddle her students. However, she is an amazing teacher and is very fair when it comes to grading. Her handouts she provides are extremely helpful and teach you exactly what you need to know for the semester. All in all she's a great teacher, but could be a little more friendly.
Prof Green is probably one of the best accounting professors at UT. She gives you a packet at the beginning to fill out the whole semester so it's easy to follow along. She also makes the quizzes pretty similar to the practice problems in the packet. Quizzes are like every other week but only like 5 questions and she usually does a review before!
Prof Green is overall a mediocre professor. She teaches extremely fast and it was hard to keep up in class. There are a lot of chapter quizzes and only 3 exams. All of the HW is online and actually doing it does help you understand the material better. She was kinda helpful in office hours but, I still re-taught myself a lot of the lessons.
Quizzes mean everything, there is about one a week. Extremely fast paced but if you study and put the work in, you will get an A. Only 3 tests all semester and one project. I would definitely take her again, but I knew a lot of people that were not passing and dropped the class.
An excellent professor that ensures you have all the materials and practice problems to pass the exams. It is a faced paced class and the quizzes and exams do count heavily to your grade. She goes over the homework in class so you have all the answers.
Ms. Green is a very good teacher. She gives detailed guides for every topic that will be on quizzes and tests. She is always available for help and will answer any questions you ask her. As long as you go to class and study the notes, you will do fine.
notes are all in a packet she gives you and we fill it out in class which is really helpful but she goes so fast through it sometimes it is hard to understand/write it all down. She's strict on quizzes and attendance. we review the quizzes and tests but again she rushes through them. It's not a hard class but she is so difficult it makes it hard
Prof. Green made this course way more difficult than it had to be. Gave us a packet of notes at the beg. of the sem. which I liked, but she runs through the notes so fast that it was hard to even get the information into the notes packet. She is extremely strict about attendance, don't even try to miss. I would avoid this prof if u can.
Would not recommend this professor. Attendance is a religion for this course. Also the subject is rather simple, the chapters are easier to understand on your own pace, but the packets she gave us were just a hassle. If you can try for another professor, please do.
This teacher is horrible. Do not take. She rambles for the entire class, without a true purpose. You will be teaching urself a most of the material on your own time. Attendance is mandatory, and it comes down to the last minute. Quizzes are weakly in this class from the first to the last week, usually having nothing to do with the chapter on hand.
She is a tough teacher. I would not recommend her. She doesn't explain much of anything, then when you ask for help she turns it around on you and doesn't help you. She goes very face during lectures. Her quizzes are rarely what is in our notes. Hardest class and Im not even an accounting major.
Prof. Green tries to do her best to make financial accounting easy. For many people accounting is a foreign language and she understands that. Her notes and lectures are very structured and exams are kind of hard. Make sure to study for quizzes and exams. This class may be difficult so don't expect an A.
Professor Green goes very fast through class. She gives note packets which are helpful, and quizzes aren't that difficult if you study. Exams are hard. She goes at a very fast pace, and barely gives time to ask questions. She is very picky with attendance and excused absences. I personally did like her, but struggle because of how fast she goes.
She gave us handouts which were super useful for studying. She also did the homework with us in class which made it seem like there was never any homework. The tests are challenging but if you put in the time and study, you will be fine. She was great though and made me switch majors to accounting.
I highly recommend finding a different teacher if you need to take accounting. Professor doesn't go into much detail about anything and teaches extremely fast. I would never take a course taught by her ever again.
The class in general is hard, with lots of curriculum to learn and often being quizzed or tested on it. If you study before the quizzes and tests and put in effort you will pass. The class goes fast though. She is a stickler about attendance and makes that clear. Can come across as stone-cold. I did well in the class but can see how people do bad.
Out of all the accounting professors I have had, Ms. Green is the best. She is strict about showing up to class but she knows how to teach. She has the whole course in a packet and everything on the exam is from that or Connect. Very easy to do well, but more importantly, the knowledge has stuck with me. This wasn't just about the grade I earned.
super sweet and wants you to do well in class. overall easy content but you have to work hard for an A.
She wants to help you and see you succeed, the material can sometimes be a little tough but as long as you are putting in the work/effort she will help you succeed
really nice
Her class is very fast paced. You can count on having a quiz once a week to every other week. She does want the best for you and will try to help you succeed if you put in the work. She can also be a bit patronizing and get frustrated when her students don't full grasp concepts. In general, it is a difficult class and she can be intimidating.
Loved her! She is super knowledgeable and will give back what you put in. She wants her students to succeed and is willing to help if you put in the work. Straight forward and pretty easy weekly quizzes. Exams are all multiple choice - max 70 questions. She will not let you make up quizzes/exams except for extenuating circumstances.
BEWARE, stay away from her at all costs. The class is so incredibly boring and there is so much work to do. The quizzes/tests suck so much and are not fun. You have to study for everything as the work you do in class isn't what the tests are on. It's supposed to be about "taking the next step in thinking" but it just doesn't work. Do not choose her
Professor Green I have the upmost respect for. If you do bad in this course you most likely just didn't study or weren't paying attention to what she was saying. Amazing person. If you follow her lectures and complete the very detailed handouts you will do fine. She is always willing to help you out as well.
Homework is short and relevant. Exams are all multiple-choice and easy as long as you look over your notes. Notes handouts make it easy to study, and lectures are efficient. Take Professor Green, she is a wonderful teacher and person overall.
She can be boring. Gives very useful note outlines. About 1 quiz per week - pretty easy. Tests are not bad. Study and you will be fine.
The biggest advice I'd say is to pay attention and practice outside of class. Not a hard course if you apply yourself. Very nice and cares about you and you're grade.
acc is a hard class but if u put the effort in and deal with her being kind of rude you can learn a lot and succeed. her handouts are the reason u can succed with test questions coming straight from there. reprint them and redo them to study for tests. do the quizlets online by jillian_pennise1 to study for quizzes. ask for help and work together!!
This class is hard by nature, Professor Green makes handouts that cover all the material for the class. She does reviews the day before the test and the winning group gets extra credit on the test. All the exams and quizzes are multiple choice which helps because of all the material covered.
Pros: -clear grading criteria -everything you need to know for quizzes and tests is on the handouts -get out of class early sometimes Cons: -strict attendance -can be rude for no reason -old fashioned Overall, I'd gladly take her over others bc I learned something. Since everything is in the handouts, it's easy to do well, just put in the time.
Professor Green is such a smart lady and knows exactly what shes talking about. I took her for both 202 and now 203. The test can be very difficult but if you study all of the material it shouldnt be too bad. She is strict but will teach you so much. I have learned the most from her compared to all of my other professors. Take her!
She's pretty tough and strict, but she is so well organized and good at teaching that makes this class fun and easy. I feel like I have actually learned and will retain info from this class. Lots of quizzes, but if you study the handouts you will aice every single one. There are a few group projects too, I found them manageable.
I took Dr. Green for ACC 202 and 203 and she is a good teacher. She is very strict and tough, but if you show up to class and pay attention you will do fine. Make sure to do the quizlets and review the handouts before every test. There is usually a quiz once a week.
Very strict, first 7 weeks were were easy well paced. Second 7 weeks gets a little crazy and she goes extremely fast when reviewing and covering the homework.
I took Professor Green for financial and managerial accounting and both were easy compared to accounting classes with other professors. The notes are printed handouts which is really nice, and you get out of class early most days. Just do the homework, study before the exams, and show up to class and you will do well in her class.
Yvette Green Is an awful professor but a sweet woman. She goes way to fast during the second half of the semester. College, If you miss a class for a valid reason a couple of times its up to you the student to make up for it. She will fail you if you miss 2 or more classes without excuses and she doesn't care unless there is a note, what are we 10?
Professor seems nice but for an online course, this is too much to do within a week (2 modules a week). Only on the 2nd chapter so far and it's too much. Not sure how we're all going to pass this class.
DO NOT TAKE HER ONLINE!!! she may be the worse professor if you are planning to take online classes during summer, she almost say that she don't care if you have to work or are on vacation, she don't extent any due dates or receive late work. Be prepared for 2 to 3 homework, 2 quizzes and 1 examn PEER WEEK+projects. based only on chapter readings
I took Prof Green for both Financial and Managerial and I did well in both classes. She's very organized with the way she teaches, has great handouts for the entire semester, and always has review sessions the class before the exam. Show up, pay attention and write down all she covers in handouts, quizlet, and do the homework. Exams are manageable.
Yvette is the absolute goat. By far the easiest class I have taken here. She really cares about her student and will go out of her way to see her students succeed.
Professor Green was awesome. She helps everyone understand the topics we are learning about and tests are fairly easy. Homework is on the lighter side.
An outstanding professor gives you handouts for each chapter and those are your notes for the whole semester they helped a lot to reprint and study them and practice for exams and homework there are quizzes for every chapter. Attendance is required and graded and she goes super fast so ask her to slow down or you gonna try to catch up
Do not take this professor. This was the hardest class I have ever taken in my life, beware of the homework. She teaches at a fast pace where everyone in the class is stressed out just listening. If you are looking to have a teacher that inspires and uplifts students, which is ultimately their job, do not take this professor.
She knows what she is doing but doesn't know how to teach it. She gives out the material so fast in class and if you ask questions she either will just ignore you, repeat your question back to you without answering, or make it seem like a dumb question. She weighs the exams heavy, and is simply rude. - DON'T take if you value your happiness.
Compared to my friends that had other professors, I'm glad I had her. Exams were all multiple choice and true or false and no open ended ones, whereas other classes had 2 part exams with many written responses. There was one group project, not too bad. And all the homework was through connect. Accounting is confusing regardless, but I managed.
Great professor. She knows a lot about accounting, it's all guided notes and fill in the blank. she goes over new problems and then lets us do one on our own, goes over the homework in class, all the quizzes and exams are multiple choice. accounting isn't easy, but she makes it easier to understand. definitely take her if you can
Love prof green, knows what she is talking about and has you print the notes to follow along in class. Very accessible outside of class and loves to help if you need help. Drops lowest quiz and 100% on hw if completed like 90% of it I believe. 3 exams, last one is NOT cumulative. Accounting is hard for me in general but prof. green was helpful.
She is a nice women and is very knowledgeable. She is good at what she does, but sometimes forgets we dont know as much as her. She teaches SO quickly and just rushes through the notes and the next thing you know, you have a quiz on it in like 2 days. Quizzes are all online, Exams are on paper and all multiple choice though, which is very helpful.
Yvette is knowledgeable in ACC203, but struggles to communicate clearly. She rushes through notes, only reteaches in office hours, and creates a tense class environment. Demands participation yet makes students nervous. Showed up late to the final without apology. Not an ideal role model for aspiring accountants.
Peers and I agreed lectures made topics that are supposed to be simple, more confusing. However, attendance is mandatory. Teaching also rushed, no real life examples / relatability, so you learn by yourself. One of those teachers that gives you a 44.15/45 instead of a 100%. Also a bit unprofessional, but if you can learn by yourself you'll do ok.
Great professor
Do not take her
I cannot testify to her character in person, but online she is pretty good. Print the notes, watch her lectures, do the homework, and review everything before the test and you should be okay. The hardest part of this course is the group projects because of the entitled students that attend this university.
Test are harder and you have less time do them compared to ACC 203. I would still take her over any accounting professor at UT. Just work hard and do the work.
Constantly leaving kids behind because she goes way too fast. Doesn't teach us anything just talks to us like we're supposed to know what we're doing
good luck if you take her, you will need it.
She was assigned to me my freshman year and you can genuinely see my understanding of the class drop with my quiz grades. I thought I understood what was going on until everything started getting ahead of me and I realized there was no real genuine way to prepare for any of her quizzes or exams. She's a wonderful person but bad professor.
She is okay. Had her first semester freshman year and this class was difficult because she constantly rushed through lectures. She is accessible outside of class and will help you with course material, which did help me get a better score on exams and quizzes.
This professor was the worst professor I have ever had, truly to the point where I questioned myself mentally. If you're coming straight out of high school with an understanding of accounting, then take this class it will be easy. The test is a huge piece of the grades in this class, and she will deduct your grade if you ask for any extra credit.
Great proffesor
I feel she rushes through class every single day, if we have a question on something that would take less then 15 seconds to explain she tells us to go to her office hours
Honestly not a bad teacher at all, took her without any prior accounting knowledge. She knows the material she is talking about very well and teaches it in a way that makes sense. All the tests and quizzes are multiple choice which helps a lot. As long as you actually go in and pay attention there is no reason to not get above an 80 in the class.
She's alright, I took financial accounting with her. She just goes through the lectures SO FAST and expects you to know and be good at all this material right after she teaches it. If you take just prepare to do a lot of studying and practicing to get a good grade.
DO NOT TAKE HER! She is rude and condescending and she leaves students behind often. If you do not get a concept the first time, good luck because she will just leave you behind. Don't bother going to office hours, she will look at you like you're dumb and will be rude to you. Just go to the tutoring center they are welcoming and won't judge.
She is very knowledgeable about accounting, but does little to go in depth on the subject and expects students to understand immediately. Tests are worth over half of the grade and they are relatively difficult.
Rude and does not explain concepts well. If you don't understand finance at a basic level, she'll treat you like you're dumb. All accountants are kind of odd people but shes just terrible at teaching.
She can come off as a little aggressive, but as long as you show up on time and even slightly pay attention you'll be fine. All notes are on fill-in-the-blank style worksheets which are really easy and helpful for studying. However, there's a big 2-part group project in the middle of the semester which was really annoying for multiple reasons.
No. Don't do it unless you are smart. She is kinda crazy and really awkward in office hours.
