In the self-paced class--she's very quick & organized. she doesn't waste anyone's time. She's extremely helpful and explains math very well. She's nice but still a no BS type of person. I recommend her.

I wish all the teachers at GCC conducted themselves like Yvette. She doesn't hand out A's but she is very very helpful. All you need to do is demonstrate some concern & she will go out of her way to help you. She's a sweetheart. She is very fast & time effective. She's cool, and has a great sense of humor. It really helps if you have trouble paying attention in a math class. She doesnt purposely try to throw those infamous trick problems at you. If this is done, you get lots of warnings before her festivals(not tests). Totally recommend the class. I left the course with a positive outlook on math.

I really have a bad time in math and she is the first teacher that made me believe that I can pass and do well in math. She is a brillant math professor and I reccommend her to anyone that has trouble in math, believe me with her you won't anymore.....

I had not taken a math class for over 10 years. Disliked math very much and was afraid of it. Professor Hassakoursian puts passion into her teaching methods and made my fears go away and especially during summer on a 5 week schedule. I highly recommend her to anyone that has the same feelings as I did. She's the best math teacher I've ever had.

Took Hass. in 08' after finishing 219 in less than a semester. But, was only able to get through ch. 8, before end of semester, got stuck on ch. 9. Not her fault, never took Alg. II in high school. Wonderful teacher.

Professor Hassakoursian is such a great teacher Even in the self-paced class, she takes time out of her busy schedule to help students who need it and answers any questions they may have She seems like a very hard working person and a genuinely caring professor For any math course, I recommend her. Its so much easier to learn with a kind teacher!

I took Math Anxiety class with her which helped me to have enough courage to take other math courses. With her help & encouragement not only I took my basic math courses but also was able to complete all requirements to transfer to university.

I have always had a difficulty with Math, which is why i decided to take self-paced. Prof. Hassakoursian is BY FAR the BEST math teacher i have ever had. Very helful, encouraging, and motivating. Yvette is just plain awesome. She explains the material very well and will go over it multiple times to make sure the whole class is on the same page. If you feel intimidated by math, take her class in the intersessions, I promise you she'll make it fun and a great learning experience.

What a great professor. I really did enjoy it. She is really easy overall, and trust me, she WILL make sure that everyone knows everything before she moves on. Quizzes do make you ready for the test.

I started met Professor Hassakousian at Math Self- paced class since Spring semester 2014. Her teaching style is full of comical tone esp. when she talk about Mathematical rules like song lyrics, or law enforcement situations. She is way better to grade our quizzes and tests than Mrs. Russell!

Best Math teacher so far, I took her during short semester, she makes the class easy!take her and you wont regret it. She's a very easy grader, she doesb bot go over things that you don't need she cares and she works hard to make sure everyone knows the material take her right now! AMAZING!!!

Mrs. Hassakoursian is hands down my favorite math teacher I've EVER had. She gives you little songs and ways to remember certain tricks to math. I took Yvette for my self-paced Intermediate Algebra 246 and passed with A. Of course, I did study myself, but she was always there in the Math Discovery Center to answer your questions and explain what you did not understand. She is very- very positive, inspiring and humane teacher. I would suggest her everyone who really wants to love math.

I took math 219ABC with Professor Hassakoursian for the first time. It was a self paced class so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. She made math less stressful for me because I've never been good at it. She's super kind and answers all your questions. If you're like me and struggle with math, i would recommend taking it with her. She's awesome.

The absolute best professor I have taken in my many years at GCC. She cares about math so much but she really cares about you which makes all the difference if you hate math like some of us do. She has made me appreciate math and understand it so much more than I ever though I could. I recomend her to anyone struggling with math.

Prof. Yvette Hassakoursian is amazing simply put. She loves math and because of that she makes her lectures fun and easy to understand. Her tests are sometimes tricky but if you study the material you aren't going to have any issues. She respects questions asked during lectures and does her absolute best to clarify.

Study the homework given online for your tests. She gives amazing feedback from your tests.

Ive never had a better math professor than Yvette. Her lectures are engaging, and she really cares about her students. I find her personality and her dedication to math and teaching to be admirable and encouraging. But, be warned, she will give quizzes if a cellphone goes off. Her tests are fine if you study her study guide handed the day before.

Yvette is one of the finest educators I've come across. She is a math machine and will answer any problem you throw her way. She will give you options as to which methods to use, what is and is not preferred, explains why, and she has an incredible memory for individual students' learning styles, strengths, & weakness. Organized, kind, and funny.

I had Professor Hassakoursian for Math 100 during Fall, and she truly is the best math professor at GCC. She thoroughly explains new concepts and is very patient and helpful. Her quizzes and tests are easy, you just have to study and review the day before.
