What a great and upbeat professor. Sometimes if you annoy him enough you can go outside for class or sometimes its just his idea to get outside and enjoy the weather...

Fast paced energetic method. Prof. assumes u know material taught in SP11, so brush up! A fair grader, but expects u and he to work in harmony by studying and preparing on your own before each class, enabling your class participation and good test results. Serious about learning Spanish? Take him!

I did HORRIBLE in SP11, just passed, and once I took SP12 with Joseph, I was interested, motivated, and I wanted to understand the language. DEF take it with him!

Great professor,one of the best at SCCC. He really makes everything enjoyable.Class time goes by really quickly and he never lets you go early,so be prepared to stay the entire time.His grading system is really cool,he does not base your entire grade on his exams, 20% from 1st&2nd exam,20% on the final. He reviews for each exam.Really nice guy!!!

OMG this guy was a riot. Made learning Spanish interesting and fun. Taking him again next semester bc he was just that great. Highly recommend him!

Prof Joseph is a great asset to SCCC because he is an amazing professor and truly cares about his students. He is always there to help no matter what as long as he sees you are trying. He is really fun and makes you laugh the whole time in class. I thought learning a new language was hard, but he was there to help every step of the way.

If you have a choice take Joseph instead of Khan for Spanish. Joseph is a much better teacher than Khan.

Great professor. Makes class fun and interesting. Just show up and pay attention. He wants everyone to do well. Do your homework and study because he will give many quizzes which is great because it helps your grade.

Prof. Joseph is great. If you pay attention you will learn it. There is minimal HW and he is available a lot to help if you need it. He's also quite the comedian. If you need a Spanish or French sequence he is the man to take.

Took him for FR11 and Fr12. he is one of the nicest professor I have even known. He is available for lots of help and he is so funny. With French, you MUST, MUST, MUST study and you will pass. Plus, he helps alot. I would recommend him!

An excellent professor. He makes class fun, will always help you and go over anything you need. He isn't too strict about absences as long as you talk to him about it. It's not an easy class if you go into it not knowing any French whatsoever, but he makes it as enjoyable as possible.

This guy is the man. Makes class fun, I actually looked foward to going. I came into his course looking to learn a new language. I knew 2 words in french when i started in the fall and now after 2 semesters with him I can write pages in it, make reservations in it, and carry on solid conversations. He should put out a cd/dvd series hed be rich!

Excellent teacher! He takes a personal interest in the students. His expectations are clearly set. Do all the work and you'll learn and get a good grade. If not, stay home.

Hes so nice and funny. Love his class, very interesting. He goes very fast though so i am lost and his tests are pretty hard. other than that hes great. take him if you can! oh and one more thing he never lets you out early.

This man is a great teacher, loves what he does, loves his students, and is hilarious. Professor Joseph makes going to class an pleasure even if your just doing language to satisfy your requirements. If you have the option be sure to enroll in Professor Joseph's class it will be an all around great experience.

Prof Joseph is hands down THE BEST! He makes a required language enjoyable and fun (yes I said fun!). His easy going, upbeat personality made it a pleasure to come to class. His tests, quizzes and homework were all fair and his teaching technique helped me pass the class with ease. Suffolk could use more professors like Prof Joseph!

I enjoyed Spanish 101 with Prof Joseph so much that I took him over the summer for Spanish 102. Excellent, excellent, excellent professor! The best there is!

I am not a morning person, Yvon will get you up. He has a wonderful funny and happy attitude he brings into every class session. He will make you smile. He will challenge you. He may laugh at your mistakes, but you will be laughing at them too. He is a wonderful teacher. About 6 quizzes, a mid term and final, sporadic online assignments.

He was awesome! He really made me love the language, I was a little nervous at first because he made us all talk aloud a lot but since he made everyone do it it wasn't so bad. It was the best way to learn, I'm very excited to learn some more =)

Wonderful professor. I love the way he laughs because it reminds me of the joker or the comedian Frank Nelson. French, c'est pas facile (it's not easy) but I got through it. The professor loved how wonderful my accent was when I took his class. I enjoyed his class and how he taught it.

Very energetic, obviously loves teaching. He's willing to help any student. Only downfall is he's very unorganized, I suggest holding onto anything with a grade also always make sure he doesn't make mistakes when he grades tests.

Wow! Great teacher.Comes to class with the same amount of energy everyday. Being in his was easy. He gets everyone involved. You have to try really hard to fail his class.

This guy is AWESOME !! I have never seen him in a bad mood, he's always so energetic and always laughing. He literally jokes about everything and his laugh is contagious. Very reasonable Professor. He works with you and really does has the interest of the student in mind. You'll need and be working out of the textbook a lot for homework and review. He's a little strange but in that funny kind of way.

Dr. Joseph is extremely helpful. Reviews and previews lessons. He sincerely wants students to grasp the lessons. He provides sufficient opportunities for one to pass his course.

Dr. Joseph is very funny in class. However when he teaches, he will not give you extra credit. You have to put in all the time and effort into studying the verbs and vocabulary.

Professor Joseph makes the class funny--he loves to joke around all the time. Took him for French 101 and the way he teaches the material is different than what you're used to. Wonderful professor. Easy tests because I put in a lot of effort studying. There is a good reason why he doesn't give extra credit. It is because it is very important to learn Spanish no matter what career you pursue. Please put in the time and effort to study because there is no extra credit.

Prof Joseph is great! I got an A in both FRE101 & FRE102. Made learning French super easy. Hes hilarious and dedicated to your education. He does have a tendancy to get off-track, and sometimes speaks too quickly but not enough to prevent you from learning anything. As long as you take good notes, and do the homework & review sheets, youll be ok!

ONE OF A KIND! I never met a person or professor with this kind of crazy hyper energy. He cares about his students, makes the class laugh a lot and teaches very well! The online homework is mandatory; other professors on the campus gives the same kind. Tests are easy if you study, he goes over review tests with you. I absolutely recommend him!!!

Took him for FRE 101 during the Winter session. Totally worth it. I'd take him again He made the class up beat and fun. The H.W. was very light , all online. Participation helps to makes you feel more comfortable and further understand the subject! The test were easy since there was always a review sheet we went over in class prior to the test.

Hilarious and caring professor ultimately making the class feel comfortable for open discussion. Only homework heavy. In class lectures are fun and entertaining and the tests are considerably easy as long as you put in the work and study. There were three exams and then a final, the first exam and the final are the easiest.

He is honestly so funny he loves to make funny jokes and his laugh will make you laugh the whole class. He is so funny. The only difficult thing in the class was doing the online homework but once you get the hang of it. You will get all the homeworks done in 2 days for the semester. Very easy grader. I would recommend him 110%.

I really enjoyed this class. He is a very understanding and funny professor. I wish he would've had SPN202 because I would've taken his class again. Participation does matter in his class. If no one participates, you won't have a good time. Textbook is used and there are 3 test. Very easy if you study.

I took Prof. J's class during the semester that was broken up by COIVD. While I did end up dropping the class the time I was in it was great. Prof. is a great guy! He is always laughing and smiling and trying to get the class to perk up. He is very good a teach SPN and has a lot of patience when it comes to students. I would recommend it to anyone

I had him this past semester for French 101 and Spanish 102 online due to Covid. He's very kind and understanding. He has a great sense of humor and always made class fun. There is a lot of textbook use, as all the homework is submitted through there. Overall, I liked him a lot and I would take his class again.

Hi, I took Professor Yvon Elementary Spanish 101 class this winter semester. I never rated a professor before, but I had to for him because he is for sure the best professor I have had. He's super nice, funny, understanding, and caring. He wants to see you do great in his class. This class helped me learn and I was happy I able to use it at work.:)

Professor Joseph is one of the best professors I have ever had. He inspired me to major in Spanish. He is very caring and funny! My entire class went out to lunch with him at a Spanish restaurant on the last day of class. He is awesome!! I highly recommend taking his Spanish course if you get the chance!

Highly recommend this professor! Foreign language is usually very painful for me and he made things fun and easier than usual. If you do the homework on mindtap (you have 5 chances) and show up on zoom you will do well. He is understanding and did not make me feel stupid for not knowing what I was saying.

There's a lot of homework but you have 5 attempts to do it and it's not hard. You can request a due date extension for the MindTap assignments. If you study for the tests, you should do fine. The presentation project was easy IMO. He's very funny and cares about his students. Speaking Spanish can be awkward but you'll get used it.

He's a fair grader, great listener, and overall a great professor. Take his class! I'm taking FRE102 with him and will definitely keep going with him.

I love this teacher! He's extremely hilarious and is engaged with the students. Very caring and his lectures are engaging, especially when he puts on videos and movies to help us practice speaking and understanding Spanish. Just make sure you stay up to date with MindTap and homework. I'm taking him for SPN102, and I'm so excited!

Hilarious guy that I'm sad I didn't get to learn more from. My classmates outright refusal to participate ruined some the class, but Professor Joseph powered through as best he could. Would definitely take again. One word of advice. He is not going to babysit you in any way.

he made his class interesting and enjoyable no matter what! we experienced a lockdown in our class and he was quick to make sure we were all good and safe before letting us go even after they called it, heavily appreciated! his work is easy to keep up with and he will constantly ask if you have questions!

This guy is probably one of my favorite professors of all time. Great charismatic dude who very obviously cares about his students. You'll never be bored in his lectures because he's probably one of the wackiest people I've met but in a good way. His homework can usually be done and turned in within about 30 minutes to an hour. Can't recommend more
