Prefers pop writing to standard literature. She's a published Romance writer, so relates well to wannabe writers. Grades on a check, check + system so do your work and you will pass easily. Strict about absences, but will let it slide with a good reason

I had her for world lit I and she is SOO easy.. 26 students made A's in my class (over half).. her test questions are like almost exact as the study sheets n quizes.. Reaally Recommend her!!

she a very nice lady and keeps ur attention. she's really big on class discusstions so participate, it's an easy grade. She doesn't assign many papers but she's really picky on grammer. i suggest getting ur paper proofread before turning it in.

Very nice woman with a lot of experience in her area of expertise. She goes easy on her class and is always understanding. I think it would take quite a bit of effort to do badly in her creative writing class. She has an open mind and makes class fun.

Ms. Jocks is one of the best English teachers at TCC SE campus. She's very helpful and her assignments are relatively easy. She gives atleast 3 essays to write thruout the semester and grades them with good look @ grammar. Her quizzes are directly from poems/short stories so read them well. Making an A isn't really hard in her class.I made A too

I loved this class! (Creative writing). She's a writer so she knows what she is talking about. Great insight, great info to use with your writing endevours. She was interesting, easy, and great with extra credit. What more do you want?

I had her for creative writing and will make sure to snatch up a seat in another one of her classes. Highly recommended for anyone interested in interesting professors.

Creative Writing: loved this class. Informative entertaining. gives extra credit and is laid back. You can take creative writing ENG 2308 this semester, CW 2307 is not necessary, only recommended. Jump straight to the good stuff! She will be teaching us how to market our books, screenplays. Come join us, learn to sell your book and be famous! LOL

NOTE: If you are planning on taking Creative Writing, sign up for 2308 instead of 2307. You don't have to take 2307 first and 2308 has smaller class size and more attention to your writing. I took 2308 and it was the most fun and informative class I have ever taken. She is laid back, easy on the grading, and you learn about the how to sell stories.

I agree! Eng 2308 was the most laid back class I have ever had. On a suggestion from a friend I took 2308 without taking 2307. It's only suggested you take it first. It isn't manditory. It was the most fun class I have ever taken. She let's you eat in there too, so if you are starving, can bring a drink and snack with you. Class has invaluable info

TAKE THIS INSTRUCTOR! She is excellent. I stink at English but I made an A. She is laid back, helpful, gives good/clear directions on assignments and funny. She knows her stuff! If I would have had her from the start English probably wouldn't have been such a hard subject for me.

An easy A. Come to class, read and review chapter and you will obtain an A. A bit unorganized, but as long as you keep track and a copy of your work. All is good. Highly recommend if you need an easy class to obtain an English credit.

Ms. Jocks is wonderful. She is extremely helpful and knows her stuff. She also makes learning fun. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to gain something from comp II and have fun while doing it. Must take teacher!

Wonderfully oddball teacher who is fun and talkative. You need to be in class because there are frequent short quizzes on the poems and stories you are assigned to read for homework. You don't necessarily need the textbook because you can find all of them online usually but helps during citations. She does review games too. I recommend taking her!

Hands down, one of the best english composition professors out there! I took her for comp. 2 and she made class fun and easy. Some assignments were just your opinion and her essays are easy to write for. Test are not that hard but alright. I high recommend this professor.

Took her for World Literature,I was disappointed because she didn't include Asian literature.She gives quizzes everyday just to make sure you study it but there're not easy.I don't think she's well prepare before she go to class.She makes open or group discussions everyday for 15% participation grade so make sure you speak out!Boring class~

Wonderful and Simple. Passing is easy just turn in your work and pass the test and 5 question quizzes and you have yourself an A. You write a lot but hey thats what you signed up for. She's really corky and cool and up to date on her tv shows and news. Great professor would take her again if I could :)

She is really helpful and that's true as its literature class off course you are gonna have more readings to do but if you pay attention and keep up its not that hard, don't forget you get chances to do some extracredit and she drops quizzes and journal entries with lowes class participation grade so don't worry just take her

If you're taking her cause you love the subjects then take her, if you're taking her for to get an A, take someone else. She's easy but there are 4 assignments (reading, essay questions, in-class essay, and journal) for every single class. Rather insane.

Excellent professor! There is A LOT of reading, but not overwhelming. She is very helpful and makes lit a lot easier. She is also funny. Be sure to READ the READINGS BEFORE EACH CLASS and SHOW UP FOR EVERY CLASS because there are quizzes, questions you write, and discussions over readings almost every class.

I took for a summer class she is amazing she actually knows what she is talking about. If you go to class everyday you will be fine just read the readings and be prepared for the quiz which are usually pretty easy. She makes the class fun gives good reviews for the tests and puts all her notes online. You have one paper but its easy. Take her!! :)

I'm taking British Lit, and it's a very fun class. Prof. Jocks is very bubbly and a little goofy, and she makes her class fun. She's a published author, by the way. There is a lot of reading (of course), and the reading can be quite difficult, but the class is still pretty easy - I'm currently making an A-. I definitely recommend her.

Took her for creative writing and really enjoyed it, as it was really relaxed class. She would accept late work and give a lot of opportunities for extra credit. She is also a published author, and has an insane amount of knowledge about literary subjects. I would take her for other English classes if I hadn't already completed them.

I absolutely love Ms. Jocks. She is probably the BEST professor I have ever had at TCC thus far. The way she teaches her class, makes you visualize what she's talking about and makes it that much more easier to learn. Because of her Creative Writing class my love for writing has been renewed and not only that, my writing has improved tremendously. The way she teaches is great and very down-to-earth. Great and helpful assignments, the textbook is helpful also. She is very encouraging for us writers to begin our writing careers as well.

Jock is very sweet and knows what she's doing. I'm a writer and found the class incredibly easy and fun. Most of the stuff we studied seemed like common sense to me, but I'm familiar with the world of creative writing. She's very passionate about the subject and will no doubt help you out with anything you need.

First, my comment is a hint for Intn'l fellow. She is not really an easy professor who gives you an A for everything you turn in. But believe me she'll give you second chance to re-write your paper and make an A. Class is boring sometimes, but her teaching material is interesting. Recommend her. You work, you earn good grade and become better!

She is a good teacher. I really like her enthusaism for writing. If you can write a relatively good story every week then its pretty much an easy A. So its a lot of work. The only thing that got on my nerves was she dosn't grade fast. It takes her about 2 weeks to grade something. she is also not very organized so she loses your things easily.

She is a wonderful teacher but I wouldn't recommend her if you don't need much coaching when it comes to writing an essay. When given a paper to write, it felt much like high school where we spent an entire day talking about our intro's then had to get them checked off before we could be counted present in class. Class wasn't challenging enough.

She is the sweetest thing ever. She teaches romanticism and Modernism and she is great at what she does. She enjoys what she does and it shows. She gives 4 Exams 30 questions each and they are super easy. She asks that you print out the in class assignment and she will go over them in class, THESE ARE YOUR STUDY GUIDS FOR EXAMS. She is the easiest professor I have ever had. If you think you're going to learn something, you won't. She reviews basically everything from 7th grade. If you struggle with English, definitely take her. She's extremely helpful and thoroughly explains each lesson.

Nice lady. You will have homework reading stories every night, however I slacked off in this class, never read the stories or did the work and still got an A. Print off class notes bc they are the test review. Some group work in her class. Super easy.

Super sweet teacher. I learned a lot in this class. Easy, just keep up with the papers. She is understanding and is lenient when it comes to turning things in. 2 tests the whole time and you review right before the test.

I only took Literature because it was a required course, but Jocks made the course extremely fun. You will have to do a lot of reading and taking an online quiz afterwards but it is almost impossible not to get 100. Gives a test review for all tests, again easy A. One term paper but very short. There are in class assignments so you need to show up.

While she's a very sweet and helpful woman her teaching methods are incredibly annoying. Group projects for almost everything, unnecessarily rearranging seating chart for exams and boring lectures. Use summaries for reading material that way you don't have to read the book Going to this class was brutal but i ended up with an A with minimal effort

Very sweet lady. Only midterm and final for tests, and they are SUPER easy. Does comprehensive reviews immediately beforehand. You write 3-5 pgs. of creative something for critique every other week, but otherwise not much work and a definite easy A. Gives TONS of extra credit opportunities as well. Mostly pretty basic info though. Bit disappointed.

Professor Jocks is one of the best English teachers there is. She really cares about her students and she is very easy. She gives you plenty of time to finish your work. The test are easy and if you do your essays then you should make an A in her class. I love her. I will be looking for her for Lit class in the fall.

I really really enjoyed taking this professor for ENG 2332. I took her in the summer and a lot of our grades came from easy participating activities. Her quizzes and exams are a piece of cake if you go to class and are familiar with the readings. Take her!

She would give you another chance if you didn't do the homework on the due date. she gave us one quiz and the final was from our questions. Just do the essays and she'll easy grade them. Life is easy with her no panic. EASY "A" BELIEVE ME

She is very nice and tries to make class fun. She is a tough grader. She straight up says that she doesn't give anyone a 100 on a paper, she starts people at 95 which sucks. Homework is due before each class but its really easy. She responds fairly quickly and is willing to help. I would take her again.

Simply the best English teacher I have ever had! This is probably the only class that I can say was "easy," but I still learned a lot from! Professor Jocks is so passionate about English and writing, and that comes across in her lectures! She makes class interesting and engaging, but don't skip because there are a lot of daily grades.

It's an easy A if you do the work, and there's not much of it. Write, show up, participate in class, and you're golden. She does reviews right before tests, almost everything is a soft deadline you can turn in late, no book, and she's passionate and willing to help. She's actually published, too, so she has good insights into pro writing.

Attendance is mandatory as its what makes up a bulk of your grade. The assigned reading was always interesting and the quizzes held afterward were never too difficult. There is a bit of group work, but it is possible to work solo if you're shy. She also offers extra credit throughout the entire semester. I would definitely recommend this class.

Took Professor Jocks for summer 1 and the class was pretty easy. Only thing I would say is she will give a quiz over anything she can. There were a lot of quizzes which were easy as long as you did the readings and payed attention in class. Exams are short answer, only one was multiple choice. You're exempt from final if you were present everyday.

Ms. Jocks is fantastic. Her work is pretty straight forward and easy as long as you put the work in. If you dont put the work in dont expect a good grade to be handed to you. She is so caring and wants all of her students to succeed. I highly recommend her. There is not enough characters on this thing to describe how great she is!

AMAZING teacher. responds within hours if not minutes. She has a clear grading criteria and in my opinion, is very hard to not pass and very easy to obtain an A if you put in the effort. Took her class for summer 1 and got a 98 after my mom got COVID and I fell a little behind. SHE IS AWESOME!

Great Teacher, especially during a pandemic. She only assigns 3 essays throughout the whole semester and the 3rd was optional, and we did not have to do the 2nd one because of the snow storm so she graded our cited work as the essay grade. This is a EASY class, take it. My comp 1 professor assigned 6 essays and this professor only gave 2!!

She doesn't give 100s out often. They are rightfully earned. If you love literature she is THE professor to take. Even in an online class her high energy showed. Shes so passionate about what she teaches, it makes it all worth while. None of the work is particularly hard but there are discussion boards once a week. Shes also easy to get ahold of.

Took her class during spring 2021 online. Very straight forward class, impossible to fail unless you really just don't put any effort. There are a lot of assignments, so keep up with the due dates, but nothing that was difficult. She also gives opportunities to do late work to get your grade up.

Professor Jocks has got to be one of the best professors on campus, she taught me how to create a better work cited page and how to formulate better essays and I cannot thank her enough! She has the most kindest personality and persona and would do anything to help her students out. I highly recommend taking her!

Professor Yvonne provides extra credit and allows late work. There was a lot of short stories/poetry she had us read and quiz over. She did take a while to grade papers. However, she was still a very understanding teacher.

no textbook is needed! such an easy class. you wont really miss much if you miss a day since everything is on canvas, but she does sometimes do assignments you can only do if you were in class. overall she was super nice and caring.

Prof. Jocks is really sweet and passionate about teaching. There's lots of extra credit opportunities. Even then, she is able to check your work and answer questions. Not much homework, just quizzes you can take on your own time at home. Tests aren't hard at all, as long as you study the notes you'll do great. Easy, loved the readings, take her!

She really cares about students success. For writing assignments, its hard to get a 100. But as for general assignments, quizzes, and tests, a 100 is very possible. There's 4 journal entries that she just glances over (a completion grade). The readings are all online and are very interesting. Trust, take her!!!

Professor Jocks is a caring instructor, though her grading can be uneven. Engage with the course material and use tools like Unstuck study to supplement your learning - it really helped me improve my writing and stay on top of the workload.

She doesn't give 100's but it is not hard to receive an A+. I was in person so it is major that students attend her lectures. Her exams are so easy because of the study game before each one. The questions on the study game are exactly the same as the exam and she tells us what we need to know beforehand.

I took her for both English 1302 and Literature. She rarely gives 100's unless you really did a phenomenal job. It is really easy to get an A in her classes even without 100's. Everything was pretty easy. She's a good choice. If you do the work you will have a smooth sailing.

I enjoyed her class. If you show up, pay attention and keep up with your weekly journals you should not have any problems. You can tell she really loves what she does. I wish she taught more English courses I would take her in a heartbeat!
