Although she is very quick when explaining material, she definitely knows her stuff! She is the best math instructor to prepare for the Business College. I graduated from Eller and her class was the one that prepared me most.

You have to be a great note taker to succeed in this class. If you write down everything she writes down on the board and can follow along in class, the class will not be as difficult as most people make it out to be. She's a great instructor!

The class was very interesting however, very difficult. She sometimes writes too much on the board at one time and that was my biggest problem (keeping up). However, when I would refer to my notes for studying the answer was always there.

I referenced her on ratemyprofessors.com before signing up for the class, and have to disagree with the other posts. She assigns a lot of homework, but it is practical for the tests. Currently, I am receiving a 'B' in the class but have had to put minimal effort in. To achieve an 'A' would require quite a bit more work.

I think shes a very good teacher. Shes pretty quick though so you need to keep up, but she explains everything very well. But I didnt think her class was easy.

It seems like she has changed a lot since 2005. She was quite helpful in class, always ready to show students how to do a problem again. She was quick thou, and the class went pretty fast. You have to stay focused most of the time, and review your notes a lot. Medium easy class.

Very hard teacher. I had straight A's coming into this class and I got a D! Her tests are extremely hard and she gives tons of homework. This is one of the toughest teachers at Pima!

She explains the materials very well. The stuff that she taught are always on the tests, however tests problems are usually harder. Easy on homework marking and group projects.

The way she teaches is pretty systematic. I like the way how she goes through the materials although it's super fast. But I have to disagree with her marking. The tests worth 300 pts each, projects are only 50 pts each. If u screwed on the tests, u're screwed for the whole class. If u have a D on your 1st test u're better off dropping that class.

I took MAT 173/174 in the 8 week formats with Yvonne and got an A in both classes. The class is hard no matter who you take it with, but she is a great teacher and is always glad to help you during her office hours if you need. Get a good group and give this class some priority and you'll be fine. Do not miss a class and do all of your homework.

She is a good teacher, but I advise you NOT to take summer session MAT 173 or 174 classes if you are taking other summer classes. She answers questions and has to use UA materials that are hard to navigate through. Overall, she's willing to give you tips on being successful. Her tests are weighted big time! So focus on them before anything else!

This teacher was really helpful and I understood most of what she taught. I thought she was a great teacher because she was really organized and clear on the kind of work she wanted. Do all your homeworks and follow her directions.

I took her for 173 and she was a good teacher. if you ask for help she will give it to you. I took the summer accelerated course and its not as bad as everyone thinks!

Tests are most of your grade, there's a lot of homework which is excellent to study with. Posts/has two example exams that are very close to the current one. Heavy use of Excel and computer (Please be prepared she goes somewhat quickly on how to do the commands). Overall the class is fast-paced and a lot of work, but she's fine at explaining terms.

She is an amazing teacher! Most people complain of how fast she teaches,BUT you guys have to understand that her classes are 8 weeks long she has to go as fast as possible to cover the material. I took this class before and with her was so clear! I totally recommend this teacher, she is very helpful if you ask for help!

Ms. Sandoval is a great math teacher. She goes step by step and she is great about answering questions. She does go quickly, but it is a condensed semester. Make sure you study your notes before your next class and her sample tests are a great study guide for exams.

She is an amazing teacher! She takes the time to go over examples that have to do specifically with what will be on the tests or in the projects. We did the projects during class. I took the 8 week format and it was amazingly easy. Study the inclass examples and past exams you will pass the tests for sure! Grades are based more than 50% on tests.

I took 173 and 174 with her in the 8-weeks format in summer 2012. She is an amazing teacher! She goes through the material quickly but takes time to explain in more depth when asked. We worked on the projects in class. Study the in-class examples and past exams you will pass her test.

Math is one of the hardest subjects to learn, and teach. She gets this kind of ratings is because when explaining in class she is assuming you have mastered the prerequisites to enter the class, and she tries to explain fast to cover everything you need to learn. Regarding tests and homework, she is flexible and is always willing to help, just ask.

Assigns LOTS of hw, which is not worth a whole lot grade-wise, but it's to your benefit to do it all, trust me. Tests are VERY straightforward, just do the hw and it'll be easy! She does move fast, but is happy to clarify if needed, so don't be afraid to interrupt her during lecture. Also, it will help to have SOME excel knowledge.

Idk if it was just because the class was accelerated, but the workload was extremely heavy (2 HW assignments a night, 30 problems each). I had a 4.0 year until I took her class. I don't think she considers that people have lives outside her class. I struggled to keep up and ended up with a high B (with Adderall) which ruined my perfect GPA.

I took this class twice before taking it with her, failing both times & seriously struggling. Sandoval gives a lot of written homework but it honestly helps soo much & helps you to actually LEARN the material. If you struggle with math & have failed this course, I highly recommend you take it with her. It might be time consuming but its worth it.

I had her for math 95 and she was worked really well for me. It was an easy class so I didn't need much guidance but anytime I was confused I would ask questions and they would always be followed with a clarifying answer. She assigns a lot of homework which forces you to practice(which is great) and she is also an excellent grader.

She is a solid teacher. Very fair grader and the way she teaches is very monotone but easy to get used too.

She assigns a lot of homework, but this allows you to practice. The exams are also based off the homework questions you work on. This class is very straight forward, and as someone said below; Sandoval is not a personal teacher. She does answer questions and is friendly but likes to get things done with a quick pace.

Homework every night but it's for a good reason. Sandoval is a visual learners perfect teacher. She works everything out right in front of you. She is very straight forward. I would recommend her if you like teachers who do not teach in a very complex manner.

She gives out a lot of homework, but the tests she gives are based of the homework so doing the homework if the most beneficial thing you can do. She isn't too personal, but she's nice and a solid teacher forsure

She is a good teacher. Yvonne isn't the most personal but will answer any questions, and she really is one of the fairest, most realistic graders I have ever had as a math teacher. Do the homework, ask for help when confused, and this class will be no problem.

She gives a lot of homework, but like everyone who has rated her on here has said, the tests are based off the homework. I had 6 tests including the final in her class, which I thought was a pretty large amount. The tests are pretty realistic, some challenging questions but nothing insane. She's a really fair and at times generous grader as well.

Her lectures are super straight forward. Goes over a few slides then does examples with the class for the rest of the period. I found myself never looking for clarity from this way of teaching. Really solid. Homework pretty much every night but it can boost your grade and like everyone else has said, the test problems are from the HW. Great teach.

Yvonne is really nice and her style of teaching worked for me. She does a lot of example problems while explaining them which was perfect imo. Lots of homework but i actually feel like i improved my mathematical understanding, i didnt feel as if i was just spitting out answers. if you like that style of teaching shes your best bet!

I agree with what a lot of people have said on here. Sandoval is a pretty straight forward teacher who uses a lot of examples to teach. She was very kind and a very, very fair grader. 5 tests, one final, so there are a lot of tests but the questions are pulled from the book. Homework every night. Do the homework and you'll ace the tests.

Totally agree with everyone stating about Professor Sandoval. Not only is she a great professor, she is very patient and passionate about teaching. However, if you are not familiar with algebra, or having a hard time with math, be prepared and really focus on the assignments she hands out.

I had Yvonne 2 years ago for Math 123(now 95), and I thought she was fine. Teaches by going through many examples and expects you to do the homework. If you are not confident in math you may have a harder time with her. Tests are easy, the questions are out of the book. All in all she is a fair choice, in my opinion I thought she was great.

While she is not the best coder, she is most definitely always happy to sit down with you and help you work out all the kinks in your program.

I had Yvonne for Math 95 a year ago. She was a shy teacher, but still very nice and willing to answer questions. Her teaching is pretty 1 dimensional, she really just does examples with some conceptual explaining here and there. My class had 5 tests and one final. All test problems were out of the book, so doing the homework was very beneficial.

Yvonne Sandoval is a great teacher. She does several examples on the board every class which are similar to the homework section. You can expect to do a lot of homework but this a way of making sure you practice and learn the material. Also, if you were unable to answer something from the HW she'll explain it in the board next class meeting.

Yvonne is extremely thorough. She will go over the same concept multiple times in a row to make sure everyone understands, which sounds tedious, but in a class like coding it was really helpful to make sure everyone was on track. Lots of homework (online textbook practice that really helps), big tests, a very hands on, participation heavy class.

Yvonne is the best teacher I've ever taken. She is very clear in her expectations from her students and is a very fair grader. She assigned a lot of programming labs(26 labs) which gave us a lot of practice. Exams were tough but if you did the work in class you would pass. Highly recommend taking any of her classes.

Solid choice for ENG175. Her lectures come with good explanations and a lot of patience to repeat what was said. Make sure you do your zyBooks homework before exams since she will refer to that content, and make sure you can recreate in-class programs for the practical parts of the exams. I had a lot of fun, learned a lot, and would take again!

Ms. Sanvodal is just a very good teacher. She is passionate about teaching and very patient when someone has a doubt or needs help. Her attitude is also great and she is a just grader. Her class has 3 exams but an extra final that can replace a low grade. She is super accessible outside class. Would definitely recommend!

A knowledgeable teacher in coding, but I struggled with the amount of assignments due in class every day and unnecessarily strict due dates. Yvonne was helpful in class and kind, but did not seem interested in the material herself and often didn't get creative explaining things when we were confused. Tests are timed and extremely stressful.

Respect the deadlines and pay attention in class and you'll be fine. Yvonne has you practice coding every class which is a really effective way to learn a new language. She can find a bug in your code in no time and is very helpful during class time. Responds to emails. Her lectures are monotone but she keeps them as short as they can be.

Everyone I have talked to dislikes her, but she has honestly been one of the best programming professor I have ever taken. She is very nice, and knows that shes doing. As long as you keep up, the class is a breeze.

Yvonne was one of the kindest and most helpful teachers I've ever had. Even when I had an issue and had to miss an exam she did everything she could to help me. If you're taking math and she's available, take her class!

Seeing as how tough teaching C programming could be for a variety of reasons but to also be teaching to folks with all kinds of backgrounds is tough Yvonne does a fantastic job at trying to make it engaging for everyone demonstrating a true care for her students. She grades tough but fair and is always available for questions.

Ms. Sandoval is a great professor, she explains things well in my opinion (just a tad fast for my liking) and always walks around to ask if you need help understanding anything! Her class IS test heavy, with them being like 60% of your total grade. Her homework is easy, it's online. She is also patient. I enjoy the class.

She usually just teaches off a PowerPoint and a worksheet but she is very good at explaining the problems. Tests are very easy and based off the practice tests of Knewton. Easy to reach outside of class and is a very caring teacher. Liked her class very much.
