Dr. Aanderud has got a zest for life and what he teaches. Someone said that he was unorganized but he/she failed to mention that that was Dr. A's first time teaching. Cut him some slack. He's chill, fair, and always open for discussion. My favorite part of lecture are his slides-great pictures and analogies. An outstanding teacher! ^_^

Best professor I've ever had bar none. Really passionate for life, for his work, for teaching and influencing the lives of his students. Aanderud, an environmentalist, isn't afraid to share his personal opinions, isn't always PC when politics come up (he teaches an environmental law class), but he shouldn't be penalized for having a backbone.

Aanderud is an awesome (and refreshingly left-wing) teacher who knows his environmental material. His tests can be tough (you have to study) but it is easy to get an A or a B in his class--He allows retakes, lab makeups, whatever it takes for you to get a good grade. Take any class that Aanderud is teaching; you will enjoy it.

Much better than other classes I've had with him. Still too dependent on YouTube and pictures for his slides. Would like to be taught in the class instead of having to teach myself what the book says and then go to class to be entertained. I had a horrible time in this class (Air Quality). We didn't have a textbook, so you'd expect to learn all the material in class. Amazing Prof, passionate about what he teaches and keeps lectures engaging. As long as you go to discussion, do the study guide, and complete your assignments you'll be fine.

Dr. Aanderud is clearly passionate about science and PWS 150 is a very easy class. Just make sure you go to the discussion group with your work done and you will be completely fine. GO TO TEST REVIEWS and you will ace the tests! I would heavily recommend!

I LOVED this class. He is passionate about the environment but also a very open-minded teacher that made me feel safe and inspired to help our planet. All exams have a study session before I highly recommend. A TA goes over a study guide which makes all the tests a breeze. Do your discussion assignments & attend discussion.

Dr.Aanderud was good but super disorganized. Lots of his slides and assignment descriptions were unclear and had tons of typos/mistakes, which made homework and studying somewhat frustrating. Overall tho, his class was pretty easy, just make sure to attend discussion groups, use the TA's, and take good notes during lectures and you should be fine!

Dr. Aanderud's lectures are very engaging and I enjoyed the small discussion groups that are used within the class. Since this class covers two Gen-Ed areas, there is a lot of writing. Weekly discussion assignments that take a few hours to do. These assignments take time but are easy to do well on and boost grades easily. Very fair tests.

This class is super easy. There is one hw assignment a week and it took me max 1 hour. The tests are hard but the study guide helps a lot. It's fine to skip class as long as you fill out the study guide from the slides he posts. The tests ask pretty specific questions about the study guide questions.

PWS 150 was awesome and life changing. It is another class everyone on campus should take. Just show up to the group discussions and know to contact your TA about anything and everything.

Loved the way this class was set up- two lectures a week with the third class day being spent with a TA and your discussion group. Memorizing the study guides will get you far on the exams- I was able to fill them out during the lectures and it was super helpful. Fairly easy and enjoyable class!

I thoroughly enjoyed Environmental Biology. I wish that I had learned more in the class. I feel like most of the readings were bulky and hard to understand, and seemed slightly unrelated, and some of the assignments felt like busy work. I think that the class was too easy, but a very good intro to Environmental Science and the topics around it.

This class is decently easy, there are a few assignments a week. Usually one open note quiz a week that takes less than a couple minutes to complete and a discussion assignment. Memorizing the study guide will do you wonders on the test, the questions are pretty much the exact same. I really enjoyed the lectures!

He is a great professor, I think the lectures are the best part of the class. The only hard part were the discussion assignments but they were easy enough if you put in the time. Make sure to do some light studying for the test and your going to get an A.

Great class for a liberal. The try-hard team of TAs will ruin you. They like a squadron that run the grade book. Badly. Unorganized, 3 assignments were missed, just ugly. They just salty cause they getting a degree in this stuff not just a GE. They try to be tough when Zach (The professor) is really cool.

I really enjoyed this class! Not only did I learn lots about the environment, we also talked lots about being good global citizens and it was really valuable. The structure with having lectures and small discussion groups was nice because being close with your discussion TA helped with exam prep. Great professor, really good perspectives and ideas!

Class structure was amazing. His TAs really know what they're doing and his lectures are engaging. His slides are pictures with no text so you need to go and listen to his lectures. The assignments aren't worth a lot of points but do all of them, the points add up quick. Not a lot of reading, but a TON of podcasts you have to listen to.

A very good and informative class that isn't very difficult at all. Apart from the weekly discussion assignments (which require you to write a lot of single-spaced text), there's not a lot that's expected of you. The exams are hard, but you're given a strong study guide so it's never unfair. Some cool hands-on work as well. Recommended!

I really enjoyed this class. It offers a chance to improve your literacy in perceiving the world around you. There's very few GE's at BYU that will stick with you, but this is an exception. Professor is cool, and the research he's doing is fascinating. All the resources you need to succeed are provided. Easy A if you follow the study guide.

This class felt like a lot of busy work that had little to do with the tests. You're well-prepared for the tests but the weekly assignments were unnecessarily long. Print out the study guide and fill in the questions during lectures. He doesn't let you use devices so no computer notes.

Half lectures half small groups, one assignment a week that varies in difficulty that you review in small groups. Exams were easy enough if you pay attention and do the reviews, and assignments are easy is you follow the rubric, Ta's are nice and professor is hilarious and makes lectures really fun and interesting. Not all lectures need attentendan

Through his lectures, Professor Aanderud is passionate about teaching environmental bio and encourages students to voice their input about the topic. Make sure to attend discussion and participate and reach out to your assigned TA if you need any help. Unfortunately, the study guide did not help me on the actual tests.

Zach is a very knowledgeable teacher I had him for BIO 1010 and he should be the new professor to take over that course. He knows his stuff, and he's good with listening to what you have to say in class. Home work wasn't bad, just had to keep on top of it. His lecture's made sense and he taught in way where I understood him. He is great!.
