Very Good, loves his work, is strict on attendance, for many points earned are in workshops conducted in class. If you want to learn he is the professor you will need. If you think you are just going to breeze through with little effort you will be mistaken.

He's a great teacher and very helpful when describing what he wants from you. If you actually do your work, hand it in on time, and show up to class, it's easy to earn an A. He offers a lot of opportunities to redeem yourself and seems to really enjoy his job. Hands down, the best English teacher I've had!

This professor makes you want to come to class. He's sharp, has a witty sense of humor, helpful and just generally interesting to listen to. As long as you follow the rubrics accurately and clean up your drafts there's no reason why you'd wouldn't get an A or a B on your papers.

He is funny and as long as you keep up with assignments during the semester (which must are completed on your own) I you should get a good grade. He gives you chances to improve your grades at the end. Will take his class again.

Mr. Dilbeck is an great professor that cares how his students do in his class. If you do bad on a paper, he will help you revise the paper and get some points back. This class is not a breeze but if you put the effort into this class, you will be fine.

Mr.Dilbec was a good teacher, he worked with students and required them to succeed. Although, at certain times guidelines for projects were unlear or were hard to fine this did not matter and a good grade could be achieved pretty easily.

Composition II was sort of boring, but I didn't hold that against him because I just found the readings boring; that isn't really his fault. Besides that he's entertaining and if you stay on top of things it's an easy class.

Professor Dilbeck works with his students to make sure they understand what is required for the work that should be done. There isn't so much work that you can't finish it and you have plenty of time to do it.

Professor Dilbeck is a pretty great professor overall. He a tough grader, but will most likely let you make up a grade if its bad. This class consisted of writing journal entries about readings we had, papers, and a group project. Pretty easy to get an A if you do all of the work and follow the rubrics.

I have had Dilbeck for both ENG1100 and 2367 (and would love to have him as a professor again). I would highly recommend Prof. Dillbeck. His essay prompts are detailed and easy to follow and he also takes time in class to individually answer any questions students might have about his assignments. I enjoyed Dr. Dilbeck's class, he gives out a very clear standard and criteria to follow, while he may be a harsh grader he expects you to try and work for your grade. Now if you get a bad grade, he explains exactly why and is straight forward about it, but he gives good feedback to improve upon.

Dr. Dilbeck directed the course through several interesting readings in preparation for the writing projects. The discussions were excellent and thought-provoking on their own. The writing topics were fun and Dr. Dilbeck did a good job guiding students and providing assistance in the later writings.

I have voluntarily taken two Lit classes with Dr. Dilbeck after having him for ENGL1100. He is a solid guy that wants to see his students succeed. He won't hand you a good grade, but it's not difficult to walk out of his class with an A or B if you're willing to do the work. He lectures some but his focus is on class discussion.

One of the best professors I've ever had. Honest about what he thinks about the material (sometimes he hates it). Very open to student opinions.

Always has good discussions which makes the class interesting. Spacing of paper deadlines makes it hard. 3 were due in second half. Doesn't give a ton of guidance or feedback. He is a good teacher overall. If you don't get into the class he won't sit there and force you to, but you miss out on the experience of the class. The class has a lot to do with fairy tales.

I had Dr. Dilbeck for my second semester composition II class, and it was by far one of my favorite classes. He was an enjoyable teacher, and always had a great sense of humor during our lectures, and the class assignments were straight forward and effortless.

He is a fairly laid back professor that provides clear direction about assignments. In the case where one didn't seem to be clear, he provided everyone with even more directions and 2 weeks to re-submit the assignment. He also provided some short videos of himself explaining various things. I never had a need to contact him directly.

I enjoyed Dr. Dilbeck for ENGL Comp 1-2 so I took his Brit Lit course. If you like to read literature and analyze it, this class is for you. Some stories were great whereas others were quite stale for me. There are projects with 1-2 categories being group projects. If you got friends in class, get together to make things easier.

Clear grading criteria. LOTS of tutorials and directions for every project from start to finish. Fair grading style-gives great feedback. This was my second online class i've taken by him and hes been my favorite so far. Really cares about his students being successful.

He is an outstanding professor to have. He gives you clear directions for what he wants to be done for an assignment. He always makes sure every student understands each assignment before moving on. He gives you little notes and videos to help you understand certain projects better. If you take an English class, I would chose him as a professor.

I have taken both 1100 and 2367 with Dr. Dilbeck, both online. He was awesome!!! It is very easy to get an A in his class as long as you try. In this class the textbook was not really needed except for reference for correct format for papers. He has you write four papers but, they all are very doable! He prepares you well for them.

One of the few online courses where I feel like I actually learned a lot. There is a lot of projects that you must do and some short story reading as well. As long as you work hard you can get an A. There are no midterms or finals only projects. It was difficult at first to understand when projects were due.

Professor Dilbeck is undoubtedly one of the best professors at C State. The class work was explained thoroughly to know what was required for his essays. As a professor himself, he is very funny and will gladly take the time to assist students who may be struggling. Not a guaranteed "A" but you will feel satisfied knowing your hard work paid off.

Professor Dilbeck was such a joy to have as my US Lit 1 professor. He talks about the writings with such enthusiasm, and his sense of humor is right on. Attendance is not mandatory, but he does have pretty much weekly pop quizzes, but you can put wrong answers and still get full credit (he basically is checking attendance that way).

This was the first English class that I actually got an "A" in. He is a great teacher who is very understanding. He genuinely wants his students to learn and enjoy doing it. Professor Dilbeck has a way about him that is very rare in most college level classes. He is very approachable, and at the same time I had the utmost of respect for him. He allows you to work through your problem, but he is right there if needed. An over-all cool guy in my book.

English has never been one of my favorite subjects, but professor Dilbeck turned that around this semester. I really appreciated the project we were given and how we always knew exactly what was expected from us. Feedback was incredibly constructive. The last two assignments were unlike anything I have done in another class and I actually enjoyed doing them. He doesn't grade too hard, but you have to put in a lot of effort into your assignments and the readings to do well.

This was the easiest english class I have ever taken in my life. Seriously. It was that easy. Although I wasn't able to personally meet the professor, as it was an online class, it was clear he is well-versed in the subject matter and cares deeply about his classes.

My favorite professor I've had here! He's so funny and his lectures don't feel lecture-y. It's an easy A, as the exams were take-home exams and the quizzes were just based on attendance (you could put the wrong answer and get a 100%). They were pop quizzes, but as long as you show up to class you're fine. We did a fun assignment where we made memes

My composition class with Dr. Dilbeck was easily my favorite english class I have ever taken. He has an extensive knowledge of literature and the way he runs class provokes thought. Most of class was open discussion, so you have to read or you will be lost. Participation was 20% of the grade, although attendance was not outrightly taken. Good prof.

Dr Dilbeck is a great teacher! All the assignments are available at the beginning of the semester and let you work at your own pace. Be aware not leave work till the last minute. The last paper is time consuming.

There were no exams; all points came from 5 essays of 500-750 words worth 50% of the final grade, plus 20 discussion board posts for the other 50%. The triweekly study units were well-organized and easy to digest. Dr. Dilbeck gave great feedback on the essays, and the prompts were interesting enough that the essays were not a chore.

Prof. Dilbeck really set this class up well. Being my first online class, it was well put together and easy. He gives three weeks to get a set amount of assignments done, these usually involve 3 to 5 discussion boards and one paper to finish the unit. It is a thought-provoking class and I enjoyed it a lot this past semester.

I took Composition II online. Was a very straightforward class. The due dates weren't given from the beginning because they were flexible (everything was due at the last day of the semester, doesn't matter when you do it). He replied to emails fast and was very understanding/nice. There is only papers (4) but it's English class so it's expected.

We read and worked with fairy tails, didn't even do anything with the textbook so don't bother buying it because everything you need is online and he provides the articles that will be used to analyze with. Gives lots of room to make up for points and redo assignments with lots of feedback. Expect a lot of writing, but it is an English course.

I took Dr. Dilbeck's summer Intro to Shakespeare course, and I have to say he did a great job! The lectures were extremely detailed, which helped with my writing. He provided links to the readings, so I didn't need to buy a textbook, and there were three writing assignments (each about 3-4 pages), but were extremely manageable. Great Professor!

I am currently a sophomore at CSCC and I am taking this class. I will not know my final grade until finals in December. This class is split into 5 units (all online thanks to COVID) and the majority of the assignments are papers and discussion posts. There are no tests or quizzes required. He keeps up on grading and he answers timely to emails.

He has been my favorite teacher, hes been so caring and helpful!! I would take this class a million times if I could! Hes also been so helpful and understanding with the covid stuff and making sure we are all good!

At first, I was overwhelmed with seeing all of the readings that were on the schedule. He breaks the course up into 5 units and its at your own pace. Time management is key. His lectures are so helpful when writing papers too. I learned a lot in this class and 100% would take another class he teaches. 10/10 recommend ENGL2280 and Prof Dilbeck!!

This professor is one of my favorites so far. He gives feedback on assignments that are helpful and sometimes funny. You know from the start what every assignment is worth towards your grade. I took this course in the 2021 Spring Semester. Generally, a moderately difficult class where you're expected to read large portions of the Bible including the accompanying essays and readings in the textbook(s). Professor Dilbeck provides valuable feedback to both the papers and the discussion board posts.

Good prof, engaging class. The papers aren't graded too tough and he isn't one of those professors that refuses to give you a 100. There are five papers and the lowest of the 5 doesn't count toward your final grade. Only other assign. are discussion board posts. Overall pretty easy A if you apply yourself

Very laid back, easy grader. I've never really read the Bible in my life and have no interest in it, but the weekly questions that were asked in the Discussion Board assignments were very thought provoking and helpful for understanding the material. Just try your best even if you're unfamiliar, it'll probably work out.

This professor was very tolerable. The reading gets to be a bit much at some points, however it is easy to catch up on. If you complete all of the work at the beginning of the course you will get done early since he drops a decent amount of the grades. The discussion posts were tolerable and the essays were not long at all.

Absolutely loved this professor. He did video and also reading lectures. If you don't like reading don't take his course. All you have to do is what is required and the class is easy. Super lenient and gives you a week or two to catch up on the required documents you need.

The class itself was straightforward and easy as long as you read and did dbs. The only thing I didn't like was he gave no feedback on essays, just 100%. I'm not complaining but if you're looking for feedback you won't get it. Only sent out maybe 10 announcements so don't expect a weekly reminder of due dates. I would take him again though.

You are given a solid amount of time to complete assignments that aren't overly challenging, but longer, but you are given an outline of what he's expecting you to complete. By reading the lectures he seems like a very positive person that's willing to help and explain the material assigned. If he taught any other classes I would enroll for sure!

This class was VERY convenient for people who are picky about their schedules. 30 lessons and you can work at your own pace. Each lesson is a decent amount of reading and writing but honestly not that hard! Pro Dilbeck makes everything easy for online and has many notes already made for you. I have never enjoyed a class more than this one! Plz Take

The course consists of writing a few essays and a couple of group projects, but they are pretty simple and straightforward. Great professor overall, he gives good feedback on essays about what you need to improve for next time.

Really enjoyed this class. The basis of it was writing a fairytale with a few other papers and tasks. Overall, would recommend!

Even though are work and lectures this semester were pretty straight forward. I really loved being in this class. Professor Dilbeck is kind and thorough in his feedback. He made me feel like my mistakes were fixable and that mistakes are apart of the learning process. This class is set up to set YOU up for success! Great semester!

it was nothing like any other English type class. The whole semester revolved around writing our own fairy tale, a unique yet fun and interactive project. I really enjoyed the activities and the stories we read.i would highly reccommend taking him for a more interactive and unique approach to English that isnt just reading and writing.

Professor Dilbeck, is an acceptable professor. I appreciated the class structure since we were given final deadlines for the unit, and suggested dates to turn in given assignments (to stay on track). He does take a moderate amount of time to grade assignments, but as long as you follow directions and submit before the due dates, you will be fine!

So kind, so understanding, so patient, so cool! Was very straightforward class and not a difficult grader. Just do the work and you'll pass ! Gave me great piece of advice I'll never forget: "Don't worry about other, don't let yourself down." Such a kind man !

Dr. Dilbeck is the best English professor I have ever had. He is easy to understand, engaging, and was an easy grader. As someone who doesn't enjoy English classes, I would definitely recommend him and take him again. He drops the lowest discussion boards and I never got lower than an 100% on anything (it was basically participation).

Great professor, super relatable and understanding. Had one individual paper which was easy (received a 100%). The rest of the class was group work but split between me and my 4 partners, I had about 30 minutes of work outside of class a week. Graded on few things but everything was super easy, just put forth a little effort and you'll do great.

Professor Dilbeck is by far the easiest professor I have ever had. He gives you everything you need to know, piece by piece. All assignments are given 100% as long as you do them and meet the requirements, and he gives you very detailed feedback on said papers. And you get to write a fairy tale! Needless to say, I would 100% recommend taking him!

Great professor! Highly recommend! He only has a few assignments so you have to make sure you do well on the essays. But extremely accessible outside of class and genuinely wants students to succeed.

There are a total of 12 discussion boards for this class (all basically completion credit) and 3 essays. He is not a tough grader, but he still tells you exactly why you missed points and how you can improve. I would definitely recommend taking your English courses with him! Wonderful Professor!

Super easy online course. Only 3 analysis papers and one fairy tale, but he was an easy grader. The rest of the grade was a couple of discussion boards. I took it online so I never met him but he seems like a chill and nice guy. Very light workload; there were only 2-4 assignments due every couple of weeks.

Simple assignments which are graded very easily. The lectures are really helpful as they summarize and clarify the reading. Whole class is formed around writing a fairy tale which can be fun, creative, and easy at the same time.

Because it's an online class, there is minimal contact with the professor, but in the few moments I've connected with him, he seems very kind and caring. I would absolutely take his class again, and wish I could have taken this class in person.

This class was overall very easy. It had one main overarching assignment, which was a fairy tale. Along with that, there were three other essays related to the fairy tale that you had to do. The discussion boards were fairly easy. Overall, I'd recommend taking this course for someone who wants an easy yet interesting Composition 2 class.

Professor Dilbeck gives great feedback on discussion boards and essays. There are 12 discussion boards and 3 essays, and he is very generous when grading discussion boards. MAKE SURE YOUR ESSAYS ARE WRITTEN WELL. His lectures posted on Blackboard are insightful and deepen your understanding of biblical texts. He is happy to help with questions.

The lectures were really great. They are broken down in a step by step way, that makes then really digestible and easy to understand as you go through each unit. It was challenging and rewarding. I learned a lot and really enjoyed this course.

Professor Dilbeck is a very fair grader and he is able to take multiple interpretations of a text into consideration when reading discussion posts and essays!

I really enjoyed Prof Dilbeck, and would highly suggest. He was an easy grader, not nit picky at all. As long as you can convey that you understand what's going on and read the work, you will get a good grade. He doesn't have a ton of things to grade, so he stays on top of it. I maintained an A the entire class.
