great prof really nice and keeps lectures interesting, clearly passionate about chemistry
great prof! his lectures are fun and engaging, and he makes good jokes. he seems really passionate about what he's teaching and takes the time to answer your questions.
Amazing teacher, especially considering that it's his first year teaching EVER. Very funny and passionate about chemistry, and quizzes are extremely straightforward. Pay attention in class and read your CHIRP and quizzes are a breeze. I would definitely take a class with him again!
Very good professor and regularly asks students for feedback on his teaching, passionate about chemistry and teaches it very clearly
Very good professor and regularly asks students for feedback on his teaching, passionate about chemistry and teaches it very clearly. Go to class! You will get good notes and understand the material a lot better than just reading the textbook
This guy is awesome! I'm (currently) a first year taking chem 121 and it's one of my favorite classes. Dr. Hudson is super clear in his lectures and answers all questions well. We also almost always get out of class 10 minutes early. As for the difficulty, its hard to give a rating. Chem 121 is tough but Hudson makes it fun and enjoyable.
BEST TEACHER EVER! He is so good looking. WOULD TOTALLY TAKE AGAIN
You know you are a charming prof when the first few rows are mostly just girls gawking at you. One of the most inspiring people I have ever met who is not aware of my existence but changed Chem from my most hated to favourite subject. I am definitely considering research in Chem as a career after taking his class. In conclusion, he is a chill bro.
Honestly, probably one of the better profs at UBC. He's charming and makes the lectures pretty enjoyable, and he's down to earth with students. His quizzes are fairly easy - alright, but the midterms are real kickers as they're the same throughout all chem classes. I'd recommend going to his lectures as he's pretty good at explaining things.
BEST PROF EVER
BEST TEACHER EVER. Makes you want to listen to his lectures with his humor and is so passionate about Chemistry
He's a really amazing prof (especially considering this is the first class he has ever taught) and I am so glad I got to take his class. Definitely my favorite professor this semester and makes a tough class enjoyable.
I hated chemistry BEFORE i took this class
Hudson is the youngest and newest professor in UBC at the moment, yet he teaches Chemistry to the skill of one of the most experienced professors who currently reside. He is not just mechanically adept, but if you go to his office hours, he will boost your self esteem. I died in my midterm, yet he inspired me to work even harder for the next.
Dr. Hudson is the best prof of my first year courses and frankly one of the best teachers I've ever had in my life. He's so inspirational and he can make chemistry fun and humorous. You definitely want to be in his class if you're taking chemistry.
Zach is one of the coolest profs at UBC. Incredibly passionate about chemistry, it's contagious, and also just an all-around super intelligent guy. Extremely funny, relaxed teaching style and good notes. Make good use of his office hours because he's SUPER helpful one-on-one. Can be a tough class, but you'll be lucky if you get Zach as your prof!
Prof. Hudson is easily one of the best I've had at UBC. He's super helpful in his office hours, as well. Before the first midterm, he stayed with me for an extra hour to go over stuff I didn't understand. After I missed a class due to work, he also gave me a (somewhat brief) review of the lecture, which was incredibly helpful.
Best prof ever. Lectures are very clear and engaging. Super helpful. 10/10 would take again!!
Dr. Hudson is EXTREMELY clear. His communication skills help greatly while reaching out to students. He constantly attempts to engage the class by asking for volunteers for various 'fun' experiments. He ends classes early constantly, yet we have never fell behind on the syllabus. He has even taken half of the lecture to explain his life. 10/10.
Zacky is one of the youngest chem profs at UBC, which makes him very approachable. He gives you NOTES (He is the only 121 prof to do so - apparently) and they are beautiful & clear. PLS GO TO OFFICE HOURS PLS because exams are VERY hard. He is extremely helpful and he will actually take time to help you. USE HIM WELL. (Ps. He is so charming)
He was my favorite prof by far this semester. He is funny & makes lectures interesting. He helped explain what you could do with a chem degree & talked about his research which I found extremely interesting. He is always willing to help & gives you amazing notes (most chem 121 profs just talk from the ChIRP). Take his class if you can!
Dr. Hudson was definitely my favourite prof of my first semester at UBC. Chem 121 was pretty tough conceptually but he made most of it clear. His enthusiasm from day one made me look forward to his class throughout the whole semester. He is efficient and can relate wth students with his lighthearted attitude.
Amazing prof, GREAT NOTES! His attitude makes you really interesting in the subject, even though the course is quite difficult. He spends time to answer questions, however he teaches so well that there usually aren't many questions. Go to his office hours before the exams if you need any clarification because they're very hard. Great at explaining.
Dr. Hudson was one of the most approachable professors at UBC. It is clear he is passionate about Chemistry as well as teaching. The material wasn't the easiest but compared to other professors, his notes and explanations were the most thorough and easiest to understand.
Makes chemistry fun. Very fun. Goes over complex concepts in a clear way and really prepares students for exams with relevant examples. Overall a great guy that really makes you love chemistry.
He's the best prof I've ever had. He's so passionate and it makes the lectures that much better. Not a huge fan of chem but because of him I really loved this course. His notes made things seem easy and he put a lot of effort in them. He taught the class differently if he thought the textbook was confusing and is really helpful in office hours.
Hudson is definitely a great prof. I couldn't stand my prof so I sat in on his lectures and he has been so helpful and efficient when it comes to teaching the material. He makes the lectures interesting and definitely knows his stuff!
Dr. Hudson is one of the best teachers I've ever had. He helped me fall in love with a subject that I was exceptionally apprehensive about and has given me the confidence to continue on in Chemistry. I will miss him and his class!
He wasn't just a professor, but he was someone who inspired me to dig deeper into the topic of Chemistry. He's a BRIGHT guy who is passionate about his work. Despite the fact that the material is difficult, he kept his lectures extremely light and there was a laugh or two or three in each lecture :) Overall, his class was an enjoyable place to be.
great professor
Hudson is the best professor I had in my first semester. I used to hate chem, but Hudson made me love chem as the year went on. His lectures are phenomenal, all the other profs teach with a ppt straight from the CHIRP, while Hudson uses the blackboard, which makes not taking easier and more understandable for the avg 1st yr. take chem with him!!!!
He is definitely one of the better CHEM121 profs you will find..
Dr. Hudson is by far the best professor who teaches chem 121. The lectures are funny and engaging, the only thing about the class is that he does not cover all of the testable material which definitely showed during the unnecessarily hard final. That being said, if you take his class you definitely won't wish you were in another section.
Best Prof. 100% recommend.
Hudson, like he did with many others, helped me gain a confidence in chemistry. This class is denoted as one of the hardest first year courses for science kids, but I found it very fair and ended up with an A+ thanks to Hudson's tutelage. #hotwife
If you have the chance to take Chem 121 with Hudson, you should definitely take it. He's actually the best prof I've ever had and has inspired many to consider a major in chemistry (myself included). His lectures are inspiring and really well planned out that you manage to learn everything you need to for the exam while also having a great time.
He was very entertaining and inspiring and actually talked about future careers in Chemistry. A great prof for an introductory class and really cares about his students. He's a little old fashioned the way considering that he only uses the blackboard to teach. He is a relatively new professor but he is extremely passionate.
Through highschool I hated chem but once I had Prof Hudson, he made me realize that chems not so bad. His notes are clear and easy to follow; especially since he doesn't use slides and he writes with our pace instead. You can tell that he really cares about his students and that he tries his best to answer any questions we may have. Respectable.
THE BEST PROF AT UBC EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Notes were all hand written in class and he did not post them afterwards but it was awesome as he wasn't too fast paced in lecture! He knew my name by the second time I went into office hours even though there were 250+ kids in the class. He is so inspirational and really tries to make students love chem!
Dr. Hudson is the best professor I had in my first year. He goes every concept in detail with an ample amount of difficult examples. He is extremely caring and paces his lectures according to students. The handwritten notes are very detailed that cover almost everything in the ChIRP. Best class ever!
The class was hard, but prof Hudson was a pretty great guy.
Very enthusiastic and teaches very well. He does all his notes on the blackboard so you have a great set of study notes for the exams and they are taken at a good pace in class. He is a "lids down" prof, basically meaning he doesn't allow cell phones or laptops in class (he will call you out!) so make sure you have a notebook.
He is the best prof ever in UBC. He does everything on black board and the students are always able to catch what he is saying and able to write down notes. He is always a "old-styled" prof and he does not allow cell phone or any lap top during class. High recommend!!!!!!
One of the most enthusiastic professors at UBC. I heard horror stories of first year chemistry from high school but Professor Hudson made the course quite straightforward to follow if you put in the effort.
Prof Hudson has such an awesome and energetic approach to lectures. Personally I hated the content of chem121 but he made it more enjoyable to go to lectures and made it easier to do well. Keep up to date in your textbook and attend lectures. Prof Hudson does a great job to keep you motivated and you can tell he truly cares for his students.
Awesome guy! Wish he taught more undegrad classes
Best chem 121 prof. Everything he writes down is almost always on the exam.
He is a great prof, and I really enjoyed his lectures. He tells lots of great stories to get his students excited about chemistry, and he's super funny and easygoing. He didn't post any notes or slides, so you have to show up to get the notes. My grade was entirely my fault, I don't like chemistry, and I didn't spend enough time before the exams.
Great professor also 10/10 reddit memer
Took him 3 years ago in my first semester of university and now, looking back at my undergrad, he was one of the top 3 instructors of my degree. He is thorough, funny, engaging, and extremely well prepared. Also the only class I ever attended where I prof got an applause after every class. 11/10 would recommend.
Great, engaging lectures. Hes one of the only profs that writes notes on blackboard, which is great if you prefer hand-written notes.
Funny guy, good lecturer. I really like how he does not allow any phones/laptops while he lectures. It forces people to actually pay attention.
Amazing prof, his teaching is well paced with the chalk-board and he always makes learning enjoyable. Always engages with the class, and talks a lot about himself which actually offers a really nice break from non-stop note taking.
He is a great prof if you can take his class 12/10 recommend he really cares about his students and gives extra office hours, plus his teaching style is great.
Hudson excels at making his students like him. Super funny and considerate of your learning. Thorough explainer, paces the class very well, and is open to answer a lot of questions in and out of lectures. Tells amazing stories btw. Overall, very relatable and makes attending his lectures worth it.
Professor Hudson is such a great professor! He's clearly very passionate about what he does in chemistry and always goes on tangents about his research. As long as you (or a friend) attend all his lectures, you'll be fine! He even makes his own notes that are taken with the midterms in mind, which is a huge plus.
Great old-style chalkboard lectures, makes you pay attention in class and absorb the material. Great office hours, and makes his own custom notes with final in mind. Also helps that his notes highlight the important parts of the CHIRP, rather than forcing you to memorize the whole thing. Skip more than 3-5 classes and you're on your own though.
Dr. Hudson was the best prof I've ever had. He writes all his notes on a chalkboard which helps us all take notes at a reasonable pace. Nearly everything he goes through ends up on exams. He's a genuine guy who truly has a passion for teaching and knows how to do it well. I would highly recommend him to anyone taking chem courses. He's incredible!
zac is kinda weird but considering the fact that you have to be pretty dorky to teach science he is relatively normal. super helpful & patient, even temporarily tricked me into wanting to major in chem. loved this class will miss it greatly!
The lectures were in no way a proper representation of what we would be tested on the final exam.
Dr. Hudson is a really great prof! I hate chemistry and he sorta made me like it for a semester! He is very available to answer questions and he is totally in love with the material he teaches! I would definitely take a class taught by him again. Also he's super hot so that helps with the attendance!
The best prof. He is very funny and caring esp for first years. He brings in his golden retriever sometimes and shares many stories as well as helps out students. He is very knowledgeable and helpful for the course. He is usually ahead, so class ends early sometimes. Curates his own notes for the class so lots of writing in lecture but very helpful
BEST PROFESSOR EVER! He's so hilarious that he makes the whole class laugh like 10 times each lecture. His lectures are really helpful and clear. He tries his best to explain and make even the hardest topics understandable. He occasionally shows us very informative and inspirational presentations and also has fun demos. Amazing prof in every way!!!
Dr Hudson's endearingly old-fashioned teaching style of chalkboard-writing and banning technology, coupled with his energetic and mirthful personality made for a focused and rewarding class. He never fails to inspire with his lectures and stories. Chemistry was FAR from my favourite subject, but thanks to him it became my ABSOLUTE favourite.
WOW, this guy was born to teach! Hands down best instructor at UBC. Makes chemistry so simple and logical, it blows your mind. He's so good, people clap at the end of every lecture. Take him as a prof and if you're in another section, free up your time when he teaches and crash his lecture. Just trust in him.... all will be well...
Deserves the world, honestly. Passionate teacher, works at a good pace, all handwritten notes, and tries to know each student individually. If you have the chance to take him, I highly suggest it.
PROF HUDSON IS AMAZING!! By far my favorite first-year course. Zach made his own section-specific notes which were surprisingly helpful and went at a reasonable pace. He was always available after class and encouraged students to tour his chem lab. He frequently let class out early and made slide shows about showcasing his life and love for chem.
Best prof hands down. SO caring and genuinely wanted the best for his students. No phone policy was kinda wack at first, but I appreciated it over time.
HE IS SERIOUSLY THE BEST PROFESSOR I'VE EVER HAD. KNEW MY NAME THE SECOND TIME I SHOWED UP FOR OFFICE HOURS EVEN THOUGH THERE WERE HUNDREDS OF STUDENTS IN HIS CLASS AND GENUINELY CARES ABOUT HIS STUDENTS LEARNING THE MATERIAL. YOU CAN TELL HE REALLY TRIES HIS HARDEST TO MAKE SURE HIS STUDENTS DO WELL. HE'S ALSO HILARIOUS AND HAS THE CUTEST DOG!
trust all the reviews when they say he's the best professor ever - because he really is. he's super kind and caring, and he knows and teaches the content EXTREMELY WELL. his lectures are super clear and he uses class time efficiently (he's able to answer almost all the questions raised in the chats during class). bonus: he has the cutest dog too
Watching Prof. Hudson's CHEM120 recordings on Canvas and it's really worth watching every single of them! He's really an awesome professor and his lessons are super fun and entertaining! His hand-written notes are very clear and really helps you understand a lot more about the course content. Definitely recommend you all to take his course!
Prof Hudson is an AMAZING prof! He is very clear with his explanations, and teaches with a contagious passion for chemistry. He wants the best for students, and I look forward to his lectures every week. Highly recommend him, not only will you learn thoroughly, but also enjoy what you're learning. Trust the great reviews!
Professor Hudson is amazing! He really cares and does a great job of breaking down ideas to make them easier to understand. I love his hand-written notes, they are really clear and keep the class very well-timed. Can tell he cares and usually gives real life applications for information, which is awesome. His dog is adorable too which is a plus!!
Dr. Hudson is my favorite first-year prof. His lectures are so clear and he is great at breaking down complicated topics. He is so kind and really seems to care about teaching. His notes are great and easy to follow. He shows us his dog too who is adorable! Take his class if you get the chance!
Dr. Hudson is one of the nicest and sweetest profs I've had in my first year at UBC! His lectures are really well organized, he's very good at answering any questions the class has, and he really cares about trying to get his students to understand the concept. He really is one of the most caring teachers I've ever had! Get in his class!
genuinely one of the best profs out there, I don't like chem one bit but I really really enjoy his lectures
Wow I can't say enough good about this professor. His lectures are amazing and even in the toughest chapters manages to properly explain concept. I love that the lecture are handwritten which allows you to keep up with him. Also his dog Wesley is pretty cute.
There's something truly charming about his style of teaching. You can tell Dr. Hudson is genuinely passionate about the content he's teaching. More importantly, despite being brilliant, he is actually able to deliver this knowledge on a first-year level. Plus, his handwriting is legible and a great way to keep at a reasonable pace.
Dr. Hudson is amazing. I don't even have him as my official professor for CHEM 121, so I just watch his recorded lectures instead of attending my official chem section. He explains the concepts so clearly, and makes seemingly difficult content super interesting and fun to learn.
I don't take his class but he explains stuff more clearly than my professor, so I just watch his recordings
He explains things super understandably and detailed in a way that doesn't leave you super confused. He also goes at a good pace and makes sure to take extra time on harder topics. I'm not even in his class section but watch his lectures instead. Honestly the best prof!!!
Professor Hudson is the best prof I've ever seen and had - his lectures and handwritten notes are clear and amazing. He cares for his students and tries his best to aid them, and is just amazingggg
I kid you not: If Prof Hudson taught a chem course every term for all 4 undergrad years, I'd blindly major in chemistry (alas...). I'm not even in his section but I legit binged his recorded lectures stalker-style. He moves at a reasonable pace (rare for uni profs!) yet somehow stays ahead of the other sections. MindBLOWN. Thank you, Prof!
Prof Hudson makes his lectures engaging and informative, especially for people struggling in the course. The class is easy to follow thanks to his pacing, as it isn't too fast but not too slow either. Greatest chem prof ever !!
Dr. Hudson isn't even my professor. I just watched his recorded lectures and I felt a sudden interest in chemistry. He really makes you understand the material, while making it super interesting.
The best first-year chem prof ever! Will make you fall in love with chemistry no matter which background you come from. WOuld recommend lots!
Dr. Hudson is a great professor. Take him if you can. His notes are superb, and he's easy to approach out of class. He literally shows us photos of his golden retriever every lecture, and has a camera set up at his computer just for the dog. He takes criticism seriously, meaning he tries to teach in a way that is beneficial for the students.
I didn't initially have this prof for Chem 120, but as my professor's lectures proved to be less helpful, I started watching the recordings of Prof Hudsons. The lectures are detailed, the examples are helpful, and he moves at the perfect pace to really make me learn the content.
Prof Hudson is GOD. I'm not even in his class but I've watched every single one of his lectures and his passion and love for chemistry is contagious. He also has a sick sense of humour and he shows pictures of his cute dog. He goes at a very good pace and handwrites his notes. I love this man. He has saved my life in Chem 120.
very interesting professor. really sparks passion
Dr. Hudson has been by far my favourite prof of my first year. Every lecture, he found a way to make the time enjoyable and his content was super easy to follow. What makes him stand out, though, is his passion for science and the motivation he gives to his students. He is truly a wonderful and inspirational person, couldn't ask for a better prof
I made this acc just so I can leave Prof Hudson a 5-star. The other reviews already talked about the logistics of why this class good so I'm only here to say that Prof Hudson is a GEM. His passion for teaching and chemistry not only makes class enjoyable but it leaves you inspired. Whatever your major, I promise you will learn something valuable.
He is such an amazing professor!!! I wasn't even in his section, but since all of his lectures were posted online for chem 121 I just started watching his instead of my normal prof's. All of his notes are handwritten and well thought out. Thank god for his lectures or I would not be passing this course!!!!
I wasn't actually in Dr. Hudson's class, but with online classes, chem 121 students had access to Dr. Hudson's recordings in case of missed classes. I completely stopped going to my lectures and just started watching Dr. Hudson's recordings which were so much more helpful than my live lectures. He explained concepts so well. Highly recommend.
Professor Hudson was incredible! I wasn't even in his section but watched his recorded lectures. All notes are hand-written and well thought out. He really helped me gain understanding of the material. You can tell he is very passionate about what he teaches and its contagious! I wasn't planning on majoring in chem but now I'm really considering it
First year, not even in Prof H's class but stopped going to my own lectures when I found his recordings. He makes his own very detailed notes and designs his course very well as opposed to ChIRP copypasta. Extremely passionate towards teaching chemistry, turned me from chem hater to someone who is genuinely interested in the subject. Love this man.
I didn't even have him as my prof, but I watched all his lecture recordings. I love his way of teaching as he makes things very clear and gives helpful tips. Regardless of general course material, Prof Hudson provides very interesting stories, knowledge, and overall inspired me in many ways. I'm genuinely thinking of going into Chemistry now.
Dr. Hudson is not even my professor, but I have watched every single one of his recorded lectures this semester. His notes are very clear and he is very good at explaining/answering questions. Just watched a lecture he gave about "Can Chemistry Save the World," which has me considering what I want to do in the future. Great professor, great person,
This man has helped me pass every single midterm in this class. I don't think I would have understood anything without his lecture recordings. His style of teaching is much simpler compared to other profs (You actually write useful notes). His sense of humor and mini jokes during the class will keep you interested the whole time.
Dr. Hudson is an amazing professor. This was my first year and online and he made the lectures so enjoyable. His notes were detailed and he answered all of our questions. He is very passionate about what he is doing and it makes the lectures a lot more interesting. Recommend him for chemistry and I hope to have him again in the future.
Dr. Hudson is an amazing prof who's passion for chemistry really comes through in his lectures, even with them being online.
No words can describe what Professor Hudson has done for me this semester. Every lecture was amazing, it felt as though he was really there even though it was a recording. The last lecture had me in tears. The most inspirational moment in my academic career. Thank you.
I don't have Professor Hudson as my prof, but I always watch his recorded lectures. I don't even attend my own section's lectures, because Professor Hudson's are way more clear and concise than my prof's. He paces the class very well and his notes are very useful. 100% the best first year prof out there, definitely take a class with him if you can!
Professor Hudson's lectures are incredibly helpful as he teaches using written notes instead of going through slides. He explains each idea clearly and the pacing of the class is perfect as he follows along with his own notes. His lectures are inspirational and make you consider being a Chem major just to be able to take his class again.
I did not get to have Prof Hudson as my prof, but after not succeeding on the first midterm I switched to his lectures and my grade went up. His style of teaching is awesome for anyone who needs visuals, hand written notes, and some good jokes! The pace of the lectures is perfect and he engages with the class frequently. Amazing Professor!
Words simply cannot describe how fantastic Dr. Hudson is. 5 star period. Absolutely blessed to have been in section 122.
Truly incredible, without a doubt the highlight of my first term at UBC. You have inspired me so much in just three months.
I came into this wanting to write a couple hundred words. All I get are 350 characters. Dr. Zac Hudson is a gift sent to humanity on Artemis's arrow from the heavens above. The nectar of the Gods have replaced his blood. A true representation of a 10.0 on Richter scale for inspiration and kindness. A tenure deserving Prof, chiseled by Zeus himself.
I'm not even on his section but I find that just by watching his recording lectures I'm able to understand all the concepts! Everything is well explained and it is not just academics, he inspires the students to seek more knowledge! Look for his video on "Can Chemistry change the world " on Youtube and you will know what I'm talking about :D!
I took this course online and did not have Dr. Hudson as a professor, but after watching one of his recorded lectures, I kept coming back. His lectures are easy to follow, and you can really see how much he cares and is passionate about what he does. His lecture on "How Chemistry can Change the World" gave me motivation and hope for my future.
I'm pretty sure Dr. Hudson carried all of Chem 121 on his back this semester and I am so grateful for his teaching! Most of the people I've talked to simply stopped going to their lectures and watched his instead (including myself) THANK YOU SO MUCH
He is an amazing prof. I didn't not have him but used his lectures to study and the way he explains concepts is very clear and easy to follow. More importantly, he creates a great environment in his lectures which means you are motivated to learn also he is very inspiring.
Im a chem 120 student but didnt have professor Hudson as my teacher. I watched his recorded lectures and they were AMAZING! I genuinely enjoyed watching every single one of them and eventually stopped attending my own lectures and just watched Mr Hudsons recorded lectures. BEST PROF EVER
As others have already mentioned, prof Hudson is simply the best professor out there. His lectures are amazing summaries of the course material, and he brings in real life applications that supplement your understanding of the course. I'm not even in his class but his recorded lectures have helped me so much with my understanding. also WESLEY!
Always looked forward to his lectures. Truly made my days better.
Prof Hudson wasn't even my professor, but definitely the best I've seen in my first year! I watched his recorded lectures and they literally saved me in this course. The pace of his lectures is perfect, and he clearly summarizes the key points. Awesome prof/person overall, love the humour makes it really enjoyable to watch the lectures!
Dr. Hudson is by far the best professor I had this semester. He brings a certain level of enthusiasm to class with him every day that feels contagious even though it's online. Course content itself was not easy, but everything we were required to know was made very clear to us with the lecture and the ChIRP (work book). Definitely recommended.
I went into university wanting to pursue chemistry, but started off on the wrong foot when it came to some of my classes and started to doubt myself. Watching Dr. Hudsons lectures made me realize that chemistry is still my passion, as he teaches the material in such an engaging way.
I wasn't even in Dr. Hudson's class but his lecture recordings were godsends. He was always explaining things in such simple and logical ways while sticking to exactly what we need to know. His handwritten notes were SO useful and made for a good pace. I'm not a fan of chemistry, but Hudson's lectures almost convinced me to pursue it.
Hudson is an AMAZING prof who is SO inspirational and basically a genius. He makes me want to pursue chemistry as a degree (I'm an engineering student) with how much passion he exhibits towards the subject and his work.
Dr Hudson was an amazing chemistry professor although I was not in his class section, I watched all his recordings. I loved how he took handwritten notes rather than having slides which fit my learning style. Also he was very inspirational, and made me really enjoy chemistry and his dog was adorable !
Amazing and Inspiring
Took his online CHEM 120 course. Lectures were very well organized and his method of teaching through handwriting notes works really well and maintains a good pace. Easily explains any questions students had and provided inspiration for many.
About a quarter of the way through the term, I stopped going to my lectures so that I could watch Professor Hudsons recorded lectures. Best decision of my life.
Legend.
honestly my favourite first year prof. organized teaching, approachable, covers all the content needed.
This is a relatively hard class in terms of you really have to work for your grade. Chemistry for me is meh, but doctor Hudson made all the difference. Amazing professor, profs like him dont come around often. I liked this class because of him.
(2019W1) honestly a must for first year students. he is really caring for everyone esp for 1st years and conveys the material in a raw, honest, and as clear as possible way. no phones in class but its for the best. he is really inspirational and can tell his enthusiasm in chem. the most memorable for all my chem classes. plus has an amazing dog
Amazing lecturer and taking notes with him really helps. Breaks down content and makes it easy but he covers mostly content so make sure to practice. Answers questions and cares about student learning.
ADHD review: Dr. Hudson is an excellent lecturer. Well prepared, manageable pacing. His lectures are structured to make it easier for you to write notes. He is not thrown off by questions, and always knows how much detail to go into without confusing the rest of the class. The content is still complex, and difficulty level depends on many factors.
This prof is a goat, that's why we all clap at the end of most lectures. Super straightforward with all the content. Makes chem such a fun class. Reached out to him because I didn't meet my expectations on midterm, helped me out and encouraged me! really understanding, LOVE HIM!!! FIRST YEARS U MUST TAKE HIS CLASS YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!!!
