This professor isn't dull. He's class was interesting because he made it so. We had homework but didn't have to turn it in unless we wanted extra credit. We were required to but a ti-83 or ti-84 calculator.

Zach is a very easy going professor. He is very energetic, and if you have difficulties understanding a section he is more than happy to either work the problem out step by step on the board, during his office hours, or at the end of class individually. I really dislike math, but Zach makes the class very engaging.

Honestly he was one of the best math teachers I ever had. He really breaks it down into steps for the class to understand, but even more important then that, he is a great person. He is super helpful and understanding, don't hestitate to ask questions. He cracks awkward jokes too so there's a bit of humor tossed in.

Very fair professor, he will not throw any curve balls at you. He is very specific on what is covered on each test. There are usually a few word problems on each. He's fun, incredibly helpful and peppy. He's a fair grader and he has no problem explaining concepts in their entirety. He's always prepared and concise for what he looks for and provides plenty of examples and practice. Like all math, you'd have to work for your grade but I would definitely recommend him and his classes.

Took his class in fall 2014 . He is very helpful and has patience. Does not make you feel stupid. His assigns hw traditional style -paper and pencil. His tests reflect his teachings and assigned hw. He is funny which doesnt make the class drag. I wish my current professor taught like he did.

I usually get lost when learning math but Prof. Marks really made the material simple and when asked he took the time to clarify until we understood. The tests are as difficult as any math test (he allows 1-sided sheet of notes). He's open to talking about your grade in office hours. There's a lot of homework but it really helps for exams.

Thanks to this teacher, I passed BusinessCalc. I took it 2 other times before and the teachers were bad : This teacher gives clear notes on the board. (Not powerpoint) provides lots of great examples. He does go through more than 1 section a day so don't miss class! Hw is collected the day of each test. Gives lots of partial credit on tests. :)

He was a great professor and made the material easy to understand! The tests are based off of the hw and the hw acts as a good study guide. Okay, let me start off by saying this man is extremely inspiring. I legit might change my major to some sort of Math subject. His teaching method is simple and straight forward, just pay attention, ask questions and do the homework. Sometimes he can make you look dumb when you ask a question, but that's only because he's a genius and we are noobs.

I am Asian. English is not my native language. It have been 7 years since the last time I have math lecture. Professor Mark is amazing. He brought me back all of my math memory. I was afraif I would fail this class but then it comes out nice. I did A in this class, so I believe in everyone who older or not Enlgish speaker could do well like me. GL.

Exams are so easy when you do your homework! Get familiarize with the homework problems and you will basically see the exam in front of you. My tip is to do the homework right away after the lecture for that topic is done. Don't wait until the very last week(before an exam) to do it. You'll regret it. 11/10 professor.

He does assign a lot of problems, but the same exact problems will show up on your exam. His exam questions are middle of the road, not too hard or easy. Does give partial credit on exams and will normally not take off if you did the algebra wrong and the calc portion right. He understands that students are overloaded and wants you to pass.

I took Prof. Marks' Math 191 in the summer. It was my second time taking the class. I can honestly say that without his teaching, I wouldn't have passed this class.

He writes amazing organized notes! He narrows down the material. Very great at explaining the material. He answers questions to the best he can and is very helpful. The lectures are not heavy at all since he only mentions the important things. He gives you a heads up of whats expected on the exams and uses the exams as study guide for the final!

Prof. Marks was really accommodating during this turbulent semester with the whole COVID19 and remote learning situation. Rewards plenty of partial credit on exams. Would've also liked to experience live Zoom lectures because the pre-recorded lectures were very dry and arduous to get through. Expect to spend a lot of time and energy on this course.

He was one of my favorite professors this semester! His lectures were easy to follow and were explained in great detail. Do all of his homework! I took professor Zachary for both math 150 and math 165 online. Hes amazing! He post lectures videos with tons of exercise. After that you have optional but 100% recommended homework. His always available in office hours or email. The only con is that you are mainly graded by a test. But he grades very fairly taking into account every step.

Prof Marks lectures were good and overall he was a pretty nice guy. If you do the homework and pay attention in class, you can borderline "pass". However, the tests are really tough so its hard to get an "A" grade. Its also very hard to recover your grade if you mess up on one of the tests. Good luck.

I recommend taking him for Math 150. I took him for fall. His video lectures are very detailed and are very helpful. Recommend doing the hw. The methods he uses in his lectures will be used for exams. He allows you to use your homework to help you with your exams. Man, Zachary Marks is the goat of mathematicians professors. His lectures are what MANY if not ALL should take notes on!! I have never once felt that I missed anything when I sit and watch his lectures. Also he provided print outs. He grades accordingly meaning you have to understand the formulas HE uses in lectures because not outside shortcuts!

When I tell you math was my arch nemesis for YEARS, I mean it! I avoided math for as long as I could then I decided to take Prof. Marks stats course. He does pre recorded lectures for each section we study and it was the most helpful tool. Would absolutely take his class again in a heartbeat!

Homework problems are not graded, but you should do them because test questions are based on them. Only graded assignments are tests. There are five tests total; lowest test grade is replaced with your final test grade. Do the homework.

He makes related rates and optimization a cake walk. Funny professor but he can really teach and that's what matters the most.

Amazing Professor. I had no previous experience with statistics however I did great in this class thanks to Marks. You will be given the opportunity to get graded for homework if you turn it in on the day of the tests. Do the homework! Completed all of the hw, got B's and one A on my tests. Got on A on my project and ended with an A in the class.

Honestly the best math professor I've taken yet! Anyone who says otherwise clearly isn't trying or asking him for help. He is so open to helping and explains problems thoroughly. Homework is optional, but definitely recommend as it is needed for exams. 4 exams, 1 final, final replaces an exam if you do better. Definitely take him!!

I just want to say WOW... I took stats 3 times when i first attended college this one being the 4th time since ive returned after many years. This Professor is amazing. If you take notes with the given lectures, practice the homework problems , the test are open notes and lectures as well as quizzes. YOU WILL PASS

homework is optional but recommended by him he teaches so well though so if you understand everything u can skip the homework or at least look and see which ones might be tough i only needed to do the reviews to study drops lowest test score
