Dr. Moore was great. Not like any other class I have taken at EMU. Exams and quizzes can be hard. Enjoyed that he expected us to contribute in class and share our ideas. Talks a lot about his travels in relation to topics. I recommend taking his course.

Great class and great teacher. Group unit plan and a standards assignment. Our group was great, but guess others were not. Your view of the class might depend on the group. As a teacher, he was great. Knowes too much for me. Really enjoyed.

Professor knows something about everything! Interesting to listen to and learn from. Loves his subject and sincerely wants to help you learn all you can. Group project was required.

I kinda wanted to purposely fail this class just so I can keep on listening to his lectures LOL. Great class, great guy. So what if he's been everywhere-if anything, I think it made him who he is today:)

Dr. Moore works for National Geographic, so he's actually traveled to many countries and continents. We had two group quizzes and two exams. He says if the class works together well, he will do group quizzes, but if the class is quiet, he will have individual quizzes. Lastly, the class is not about memorizing maps! I loved this class.

Funny, down-to-earth guy. The material is very interesting and the class is easy overall.

Great prof. Test can be difficult. Everyone should HAVE to take him. Wants you to learn. looking for easy A then take another prof. You will regret not taking him. My grades reflected my work. Will work harder in next classes. Guess college is not high school.

Really fun class. Know more about social studies education then I ever thought that I would could care to know. Don't love group projects, but it worked out fine. Did love the relaxed style of Dr More and the current events discussions that we would discuss as they related to education policy. Overall a great class that you should take with Dr M.

Funny and knowledgeable. He is a great guy and his stories are interesting, it's just that Geography is not. But you can tell that he has a passion for the subject which makes the class more bearable. He only counts quizzes and tests towards your grade, but offers an extra credit assignment at the end of the semester.

Fantastic guy. Talks about very interesting things. You will acquire a broad understanding of the current socioeconomic and geopolitical state of the world. His specialty is education inequality, which he is very passionate about. Grading was easy, only essay tests and a few group activities prior to the tests that were easygoing.

Dr. Moore cares about the world and his students' success. Always emailed me back right away and was very helpful. He is a great professor, geographer, and person. TAKE HIS CLASS!

he's a very nice guy, and really funny. he tells a lot of stories. the class was three hours long on a monday night, and he mostly just talked to whole time which was really bad for my short attention span. he never took attendance, i just started emailing my stuff to him and only went every other week.

Class was not what I expected, but learned so much.

Excellent professor. Explains material very well and made the class interesting. quizzes were group, but no notes. 2 tests, midterm and final. there is no text book, but he does have articles that you have to read, and they are lengthy, but not to bad. would definitely recommend.

learned so much about social stuides and geography. took to much time to email, but did get back. i recommed that you take the class.

Great class and professor! I didn't think I was going to like this class but ended up loving it! Dr. Moore is very passionate about his classes and knows a lot about his subject. If you show an interest , participate in class discussions and go to study sessions you should pass his class with a good grade. I am taking another class he teaches !

Knows a lot about subject area as he is well traveled; enthusiastic. A little arrogant. Interesting topics that have meaning and are not superficial. Liked the material. Didn't love him. No book; midterm; final; and group quizzes.

If you think your gonna learn about maps and where states are your wrong lol Dr Moore was awesome, and taught you about stuff that really matters. His lectures were super interesting, and so were the videos hed occasionally show. But he knows so much about his stuff that hes REALLY strict in how he grades answers. Get a good group for quizzes

This is not your average professor. Awesome guy with awesome experiences which he shares with his students. Loved the class I had with him. His stories enhanced the topic. Take him you won't regret it.

I truely enjoy Dr. Moore as an individual. Being that I am sort of a "hippy" also, I shared allot of common interest with him and his general overview of the world. I strongly recommend this class if you want an ideal prospective to carry with you for the rest of your life!

Class was really cool. First time it had been taught, but was still an interesting class. Credit Dr. Moore and Prof Jones for keeping the class fun. Could have gone the other way. Moore and Jones work awesome togethet. Take this course if one or both of them are teaching.

By far one of the best classes i've taken at EMU, if you have the option to take him in any class I'd recommend it. His tests were okay, but you need to study to pass. Take notes, pay attention, Make friends! That's what helped me pass. He had a rough semester, so a lot of the information he wanted to cover never was talked about.

This man is awesome. If you can take his class do it! Really love how he lectures with a real world perspective. The man works for Nat Geo in his spare time as a photographer. If you don't appreciate his lectures something's wrong. Also he is very understanding and will work with you.

This guy is phenomenal. One of the best professors you could ever meet. Definitely take a class with him. Extremely intelligent, knowledgeable and helpful. Plus uber cool to hang out with. Real world experience and knowledge on diverse topics. Looks like a movie star. Biker and traveler. Straight As guaranteed if you pay attention. Ivy League guy.

First off, there's no textbook -- we read academic articles related to the topics presented. The readings are challenging but reasonable. Dr. Moore is extremely helpful to students who care about the class. Go to his office hours. He's very slow to respond to email. Overall he's the best professor I've had in any area. I absolutely adore him.

Professor Moore's class was awesome. I went to his office hours and got to learn more about the geography department because he was so inspirational about it and now it's my major. He's very open and friendly. Hilarious as well. If you're struggling at all, go talk to him and he will help! Also you don't need a textbook at all for the class.

This man is a real OG. Works at National Geographic, so he has so many stories and keeps class fun and light. Likes to assign readings, which are usually long. His tests are somewhat tricky, but manageable if you slow down and read the questions carefully. Down to Earth and if you ask for help, he won't let you leave until you fully understand.

Dr. Moore is by far the best professor I've ever had! He's so passionate and loving for what he does and it shows. He's a full on bro, man bun & all, so he's super down to earth & hilarious to listen to. If you show up, pay attention & take notes, you'll do just fine. Great professor. Incredibly enthusiastic about his work and loves what he's talking about. He completely changes your perspectives on the world.

Dr. Moore is awesome, by far my favorite professor. He's so knowledgable and his lectures are so intriguing. He does hand out a lot of readings and I advise you take the time to read thoroughly. He doesn't take attendance but it's in your best interest to go to class,a lot of what he says isn't in the power points

As long as you attend the lectures and pay attention, you will pass this class. It's very helpful if you print out the power points and take notes on/next to the slides since he talks so fast. If you are still struggling there are SI sessions that help to prepare for the tests.

The best professor at EMU in my opinion.. I've tank every course he offers. Always helpful and insightful. Really vibe his teaching style. He requires you to THINK and LEARN rather than just memorize information. I wish every geog. prof at EMU followed his lead

Incredible professor. Showed me new perspectives of thinking about the world. His lectures are super interesting and funny. He cancelled class once and I was disappointed to not get to hear his lecture (usually i'm elated when a class is cancelled) This class is pretty easy if you pay attention in class and turn all assignments in on time.

He is very knowledgeable in his field, cares immensely about his students (so much so that he wants you to update him with your life when you're no longer in his class), and as a bonus, provides extra credit assignments which are usually 5 points each. I highly recommend taking ANY class he offers, you will not regret it.

He was hilarious and had very interesting and fun lectures in his class. His tests were kind of hard and using SI sessions was a must to get a decent grade. He would make sure you understood the concepts well and helps a lot during his office hours. The quizzes online are pretty easy.

I enjoyed going to class because he goes off on rants that are a) really interesting and b) relate back to the topic in some way. His exams and quizzes were easy enough and he offers a lot of extra credit opportunities. He teaches very relevant information especially in today's political and environmental climate. Highly recommend this class!

He's really funny and his lectures were never boring

Moore is a good professor. He tries to trick you in his tests. Thankfully, many can quickly catch onto his style. He gives a whole new outlook on geography that I never had before. It was certainly an eye-opening class. He loves to go on rants which are always very interesting, especially if someone is willing to argue with him.

I have taken three, about to be four classes with Prof. Moore. I really enjoy his teachings and ideas about geography. The most important lesson I learned from him was that Geography is more than just places and things on a map. It is much more than that. I hope to continue learning from him.

This is my third class with Dr. Moore. He really a real gem to have as a professor. I think what I like most about him is that makes you think. He just lecture about the subject, wants you to ask questions which in turn asks you questions to get you to think about it. It's something I want to inspire my future students with!

I was kind of nervous to take this class, but guys... this professor ROCKS!!!! He's very knowledgeable about Geography, and his lectures aren't boring by a long shot. There's really not any homework other than the occasional article to read, and the only real grades are on tests and quizzes. I absolutely recommend Dr. Moore!

Dr. Moore was one of my favorite professors I had this semester. He was helpful on all of the assignments he sent out, and gave clear feedback as far as grading goes. I enjoyed the lectures and how he said he based them from his knowledge of the places hes been. I would highly recommend Dr. Moore to anyone!

He is the best professor at Eastern by far. I advise you to ignore the bad comments because they are not true. This semester was rough because of technology issues but he still managed to teach the class effectively. I learned so much from his and class and would take another with him if I could. Dr. Moore is a wonderful, caring, funny professor. This semester was unlike any of his others I know because my best friend had him last semester and things went differently. It's not a bad thing though! He can't control technology. Don't lisen to the crybabies he is amazing and you will love him. You won't find a more personable professor around.

They do not come better than Dr. Moore! I loved his lectures, and how he related them to his personal life, and travels. It's great to have a professor who has seen so much of the world. I would take him again 60000 times if I could. He comes highly recommended from me.

Omg such eye candy! But truly the most interesting and knowledgeable person I've ever met. He tells it like is. I learned so much during every single class period and it was so engaging it didn't feel at all like good old fashioned learning (boring lectures) but was truly captivating.

Attendance is not mandatory but if you wanted to hear the group discussion I recommend going. I learned the most through his review sessions. His review sessions were taught by a student teacher. The review sessions are also extra credit.

This is my fourth class with Dr. Moore. He is a fantastic professor, and he goes out of his way to help all students. You undergraduate students are so insecure. I agree that he was not in top form this semester, but that does not give you the right to complain like ignorant kids and think that you are so special and perfect. Dr. z rocks!

Take this class if you're looking to get inspired! If you're going to be disappointed by a lack of homework, readings and tests then yeah don't take this class. I took this class based on a recommendation from a friend and now I totally recommend it to others. Not a lot of structure but a lot of "real world" examples and thinking.

Dr. Moore was a great professor. He truly cares about his students and is very inspirational and passionate about his job. He is a very knowledgeable person and is able to keep his students engaged in class. He discussed topics relating to the real world and gave me a different perspective about the world. Definitely would take his class again.

The book is not a textbook, just a fill in your own dictionary. He created it himself and made it really affordable. He is so funny and makes lectures even more than tolerable. The exams were a little difficult and we had had a student teacher present the entire semester, which was annoying. He also gives a load of extra credit!
