What's this easy A stuff? You have to come to class, do the work, and listen to what the guy says. He emails notes and handouts that will help alot-like MLA format pages and rhetoric sheets. Some people thought they could slip by and not come to class, they got a bad grade. Real funny. I agree like your dad, but cooler.

He's the greatest. Funny, but he means business. I'm already learning a lot. My best friend had him last semester and she said the same thing. Awesome!

Awkward? Surely you jest! Perkinson has the cool poise and steely resolve of an unstoppable assassin combined with the vast storehouse of knowledge that only a renowned educator like him can possess. It's like some kind of James Bond guy being your teacher. And he gives candy at Halloween.

Mr. P is the****. Very Funny, laugh at his jokes and its an easy A. had three papers the whole semester..easy papers, all 3 topics i wrote on in high school. you can BS his papers. Easiest professor at ecu.Hes like a friend not a professor..hes cooler than most students at ECU, and tells you where the best parties are! you MUST MUST get him!!!!

He never told me where the cool parties were. P did encourage my writing and treated me like I was worth something.It's easy if you have the ability to start with, but he explained that he had to teach the whole class at the same time.

Mr. Perkinson told me he thinks the last couple of posts, especially the one about knowing about the parties, are students' reactions to the 'tool' comment. While he values the ferocious loyalty of his fanatical minions, he stated he is too old to know where the cool parties were, and if he did, he would go himself and leave us behind to study.

He is a Super nice Teacher! his papers are easy, and he never like to stay in class for more than twenty mins. Best professor at ECU

He actually talks to you in stead of lecturing and testing. I didn't like English before but Mr.P made it fun. We got to talk about gross roommates and all kinds of stuff. I wish I could have him again.

Mr. Perkinson made me like english. I had no interest in English before entering his class. I thought i was going to fail college English. Attendance is mandatory so be in class. He likes discussion board. When you set up a meeting with him, be there or you are royally screwed.

He is interesting and funny. It's not a boring class.

Funny, witty teacher, assignments are easy and he gives you plenty of time in addition to telling you exactly what to do to fix your rough draft. Classes are often short as he covers what you need and lets you go on your way. Often just cancels Friday classes in favor of using blackboard. I recommend him to anyone, simple class and not boring

Let me add something to that last rating. The Blackboard Fridays ARE class. If you don't post he counts you absent and you get a zero for the quiz grade that he counts toward the final grade. YOU HAVE TO DO THE BLACKBOARD if he announces Blackboard Friday, which he will tell you the Monday or Wednesday before. He's cool and all, but...

I had him for Business Writing last summer. This guy is like a machine when it comes to the English language. I sweated every assignment--he grades for grammar, spelling, everything! He will help you if you ask, but he doesn't put up with any crap. I made an A but it was tough--assignments get harder and harder.

I was in that online class last summer. He blew everybody out of the water and then reeled us back in. He's really a brilliant guy. He made me a better writer, no doubt. He explains your mistakes in detail and then helps you correct them--has a philosophy of the language that is really insightful.

I thought he was going to fail everybody the first month. HE DOES NOT TAKE ANY CRAP! After he rips your paper apart he shows you what to do. I am really a better writer now and I think my thinking is clearer. I made an A.

Easy, just do what the man says and don't talk back.

My thinking has changed. He brainwashed us. He kept saying that we would become business writers by un-learning what we thought before. Now I check my work and think about what every word means. The class is fun AND you learn how to write. How did that happen?

He really expects you to improve as a writer. I did and now I feel like I can go out and operate in the work place. You don't think about packing meaning into as few words as possible. But you can do it with Mr. P. Oh yeah, punctuation and bogus words like "in regards to" and misspellings get him going.

Awesome professor! We rarely stayed in class the whole time, maybe three times. The assignments really are not too hard, as long as you put in a solid effort. He has mandatory conferences to check out your papers before they are due, so that you can revise them. Definitely one of my favorite professors at ECU.

Great professor that does an excellent job explaining the sections of each assignment. I actually feel like I learned something I can apply to my career in this class. A little sarcastic which some people take personal but always in a good mood. If you respect him he will respect you as well as any professor at this University.

My Honors English class that i took my sophmore year of high school was harder..

He ain't easy. At least not in Business Writing. It was a sweat on every assignment. He's tough but fair, and he goes out of his way to help you. He teaches something you can use in the real world, not a bunch of high-falootin' theories and impractical concepts. He says what he means and means what he says--and teaches you to to the same. The Man!

Great Teacher!! FOLLOW HIS INSRUCTIONS AND DON'T THINK TOO HARD! If you do the assignments exactly how he wants them you will pass I got an A- in the class and I absolutely hate writing! He also offers a lot of help and you usually get out of class early if you have to go.

Challenging class, but if you listen to him and go to class it makes it SO much easier. He is ALWAYS available to help you. He practically writes papers for you if you just listen to what he says in class.

He was so helpful and nice. The last two assignments are hard but the rest of the semester was fairly easy.

This course depends on the professor. He's a little weird. All we heard throughout the semester was, "Long as necessary, short as possible." Be warned, you may wish to take someone else. He's funny and boring at the same time.

Mr. P weird? No, funny and all that, told you how things are in life after school. Some of the kids in class acted like they lived in bubble world and couldn't take constructive criticism. Or a teacher who talks. He likes corny jokes and students making sense. 'As long as necessary...' means don't beat around the bushget to it. I'm a better writer

Nice guy who makes bad jokes. Doesn't explain clearly, but breaks down assignments into small parts leading up to one big assignment. This gives you enough time to figure out what he really wants. Lets you revise for a better grade. ALWAYS lets class out early. He's a little frustrating but the class isn't that hard. Easy A for me.

It is a rare occasion that we stay longer than 15 or 20 mins. Take him if you want an easy A. Theres only a couple of assignments spread throughout the entire semester. We really didn't learn anything except what a lit review was and the definition of "metacognition". Expected to be my hardest class, was my easiest. Will work with you to do well.

Professor Perkinson is a really nice person and funny. No exams just three cycles. Classes are kept short even if it says 1hr and 15 min. Plenty of time to do the work. All you have to do to pass class is PAY ATTENTION and he'll basically give you the answers.

Fun class. If you lie to him or try to get over you'll regret it. He "like honest effort."

Professor Perkinson is one of my favorite professors I've had here at ECU. In the past I have struggled to be an effective writer, but when I took professor Perkinson that changed. He really cared about how I did in his class and made the class fun. If you show that you care and follow his instructions, you will do well! Also, he is hilarious!

You have 4 papers (really like 2) due the whole semester, and he'll let you out of class early. Longest time i've ever spent in class was about 40 minutes. Only exception: in class you need to not only speak unless spoken to, because he will CHEW YOU UP if you speak while he's speaking!! Other than this, he's a dad, and cares! Easiest ENGL i've had

Professor Perkinson is one of my favorite English teachers that I've had. His assignments are straight forward and he grades pretty easy. You must go to class and while in class you can't have your phone or laptop out.

One of those classes where you do easy work, but learn useful skills at the end. Essentially teaches you how to write in the world of business well, as well as give you a resume and cover letter to work with after you finish the class.

I loved having him as a teacher. He's the kind of teacher that writes a nice not on the board during holidays. Teachers like him need to be protected at all costs. He cares about his students and wants us to do good! Thats so rare! Great guy, great teacher. I learned a lot in his class and would have taken him again if I got the chance to do so.

Prof Perkinson is easily one of the best English teachers. The assignments are pretty straight forward and he is always more than willing to look over work and tell you how to make it better. The work is not hard but can be somewhat time consuming. Attendance is mandatory and he does not let you have your phone out but his lectures are interesting.

Professor Perkinson was my favorite professor all semester. He gives you a clear outline as to what he wants in the papers. You have to do 4, but he breaks them up and assigns them so it only feels like a couple. You have to come to class or else your grade will drop, but he usually lets you out early. This professor made my freshman year bearable! You will get an A if you go to class and do well on the papers. I was absent many times which brought my grade down and I STILL PASSED WITH AN A. The one bad thing is reading out loud every class! Be prepared to share little paragraphs of your personal writing with your whole class. Awesome guy!

Professor Perkinson is my favorite professor at ECU. I took him for 2201 and am taking him again for 3880! He really wants you to succeed and makes the content and the class very easy to understand. He makes everything straight forward and as long as you come to class and do the work you will get an A. He's the best definitely take him!!!!!

Perkinson is one of the most caring professors! He really wants you to do good in the class and wants you to ask questions so he can help you. The work is extremely easy you literally just have to show up to class and do the assignments. Really funny, caring guy!

Perkinson is an awesome guy and a super chill professor. We had 4 majors assignments and he graded them very generously. Just show up to class (he let us out super early every time), do the work and you'll get a good grade. Very manageable workload, 100% would take his class again.

I saw these last few ratings and thought 'Wow! Mr. P made somebody mad.' But I think it's a troll string where the same sorehead posts every few days to make it look like a bunch of people say bad things. Perkinson is a great guy. He helps you and answers all email questions clearly. I learned a lot. Guess some people live in angry places.

I had Professor Perkinson completely online due to covid, and I loved his class. He was more focused on the effort and work we put into discussions and following directions. If you do those things, you will get an A for sure.

He was the absolute sweetest. As long as you turn in your discussion boards, which are easy, you will pass. We had a total of 2-3 papers which are easy and he gives you so much time to complete. Take Professor Perkinson if you have the chance!

Professor Perkins is one of my favorite professors at ECU. He is very fair on grades as long as you follow his close instructions. He's got a good sense of humor too which I find lightens the mood when he posts an assignment announcement. I am not sure what angry student is posting multiple times with a poor rating, but it is all false.

He gives a lot of discussion boards. They arent that bad. He was a good professor overall, but hes very snarky within his emails. Instead of just answering my questions, he would copy and paste his original message that I originally had a question about and would say read this again. When I emailed him after not understanding. Overall good.

Super great prof, lectures are quick and entertaining. Gives very little assignments but they are super easy. Normally will let class out within 20 minutes and is not a harsh grader at all. Easy A if you do the bare minimum and show up.

Professor Perkinson made the lectures very enjoyable and his lectures are only about 15-25 minutes long at the most. If you show up and put in the work for your assignments, he will make sure that you receive a great grade.

he was super super nice and chill. he does take attendance but you're only in there for like 10-20 mins. he's only held class the full time when we had a new assignment given. assignments are SUPER easy. he sees the effort you put in and will always understand if you have something going on. try your best and i promise you will be fine. 10/10

He was honestly my favorite professor. He was very thoughtful and understood if you needed to miss class but if you dont have a legit reason you need to be there because he cares a lot about attendance. You dont have any exams or tests you just have a few papers not many at all. If you turn in things late he does take off a letter grade. EASY!!!

You only have 3 writing assignments throughout the year. You have plenty of time to complete them and they're pretty easy if you follow the examples he provides. Go to class and follow directions and you will get a good grade. Mr. Perkinson is a great guy who loves to crack jokes during class.

I love this class because of Mr. Perkinson. He was very understanding and helpful. He gives clear instructions, and you know exactly what is expected of you. Classes normally are not the whole 50 minutes (usually around 30). Hes also funny and very easy to talk to if help is needed.

One of my favorite professors so far. Take him if it is available no textbooks only a couple of writing assignments but definitely go to class he counts it as a grade at the end. You will probably only be in class for like 10-15 minutes anyways!

Loved this teacher and this class. He lets you out early and provides you with lots of time in class to work on assignments and brainstorm. Not many papers and the ones we have he gives us plenty of time. He gives clear instructions and prompts. As long as you show up to class you will most likely get a 100% overall grade.

He was amazing!! Only had a few reports, they were not hard to do just time consuming. if you go to class you will easily have 100%.

I would recommend Professor Perkinson. He gives great examples on each assignment and even though they are a lot of work, they are easy A's. If you do not think you will go to class def do not take him. He takes attendance and will call you out if you do not go. He will literally try to fail you if you do not go to class

Mr. Perkinson is one of the best teachers I have had so far at Ecu. He has a standardized agenda for the semester. It helps you keep up with all of your assignments. All of the papers he assigns he give great student examples for reference. There were only 3 major assignments, Overall an easy class to get an A in.

Out of all the teachers I have had at ECU, Perkinson is my favorite. I took his class over the summer, online. He gives clear instructions on what he wants and doesn't over assign work. I struggled with online classes because its hard to tell what each professor wants. He is specific and gives precise instructions. Take him! You wont regret it.

I had Mr. Perkinson and I thought he was a great teacher! Doesn't give you too many assignments, the most you'll do is 3-4 papers and a few benchmarks. No tests or quizzes. As long as you come to class and actually try on your work, you'll pass. Sometimes, he'll let you let leave early. The shortest amount of time I was there was 6 minutes.

Professor Perkinson is top-notch. Coursework is perfectly paced for summer. It really only takes participation to succeed in this class. No tests or quizzes. Writing is limited to 1-page documents that have real value in the business world. Writing for industry is very different than writing academically. Take this class and you'll see the value.

Very, very easy class. You learn virtually nothing. If you're looking for an easy class to get ENGL2201 out of the way, this is the professor to choose. However, do not expect to learn ANYTHING, it's a waste of money. This class had 4 very easy assignments which all took under an hour each. attendance is graded but he gives 4 free absences.

I think I know who did that last rating. P will get on you if you don't pay attention or do the work. And that was him. He'll help you if you need it. I learned APA and annotation format. You have to OWN those database sources.

Professor Perkinson makes this class a breeze. With just a few papers and no tests, as long as you show up and put in the work, you'll likely get an A. I found unstuckstudy super helpful for staying organized and prepping for assignments. Overall, an easy A if you engage with the class.

Valuable but easy class. Perkinson is supportive and helps you hone concise writing. No research, quizzes, or exams—just 5 short assignments. Readings are light. I came away a better writer thanks to this prof.

I had prof Perkinson's class in the fall of '25. He was a really great and funny teacher. Prof Perkinson is very lenient and generous with grading. He has some benchmarks through the semester and 3-4 major assignments depending on time. I would recommend his class to anyone, more specifically those who struggle with writing.

Professor was lenient and pushed back due dates a lot. Not many assignments, but the ones we did have were easy and lightly graded. Class was slow because he talked a lot about things like ai and phones, which he is greatly against. Attendance is mostly mandatory but he gives extra credit days if few people attend.
