Zach...Mr. Stepp, is an awesome guy. He's not only totally hot but he teaches really well. He makes things that'd normally be boring funny. He uses great examples that students can relate to like Sally has two kegs and Bill needs to get ****. It's great. Deffinatly take this guy!

Zach is a great professor. The only thing i would change is his speed. Sometimes he goes through things really fast. Maybe he's worried that he will not be able to get done in the amount of time he is given. Besides that he is AWESOME!

He will help you if you are willing to be helped. Zach goes out of his way, comes to campus on Sundays for us, and you can tell he loves his job. Bad news: he is not teaching this fall. Good news: He is graduating so he can teach more classes in the spring.

Overall hes a really good teacher though. He laughs at his own jokes and may come off as ****y, but he is really nice. Go to class and do your work and you'll do fine.

Prof.Stepp is very high-energy. He assigns homework but doesn't collect it. He also goes over any homework questions you have the next class. Very helpful and funny. Definitely keep phone on silent. I am taking summer class so it seems to go by at a much quicker pace but at least it's not boring. Not bothered by tardiness. Would take him again.

I can't believe that anyone would write a negative comment about Zach.He is THE BEST math professor at Santa Fe!If you get a bad grade in his class,it's because you aren't putting forth any effort.This is college people,not grade school. THANK GOD FOR ZACH! Im still in the class & have a month to go & have a B+. I dont get B's in math. I took this class before w/ another teacher & failed. He is very clear & to the point. No BS. If you have math issues take him, I love him and wish he was teaching @ the NW campus for fall. HW isint collected but do it & you will do great. THE BEST.

I wish that they would get rid of some of these crappy full time profs. and give profs. like Zach full time. He is wonderful, very helpful and can explain the material in a variety of ways. GREAT TEACHER!!!!!I was worried about the class because I have not taken a math class is 10 years. Zach was very good at teacher the required material. All tests came from his notes and quizzes.I would definitely reccommend this professor. I'm so sad that he does not teach Survey of Calculus.

Took class online. He is a nice guy. A little disorganized. Unless you are really good at algebra (which you probably aren't if you are in this class), don't take it online. Spent hours teaching myself material. Had to hire a tutor. Ended up with a B, but it wasn't easy. I will never take an online math course again.

great teacher, willing to help. and we got out of class early everyday, but yet still got all the info covered. attendance is only mandatory if you want those extra credit points. Just do homework (not collected) and you'll get an "A". Exams are straightforward

Took class online, and I agree you have to teach yourself, but that is the trade off for taking a class online. Teacher was good at getting back to me with emails. He posted announcements periodically and even gave more time for assignments (gave 7 days to take a quiz/exam instead of 3 originally). Overall good class.

I like this class for many reasons, but mainly its because everyday we have class the first thing he goes onver is homework, then discussed new material. He is very good at what he does, and if you show up to class daily you should pass easily even if you suck @ math he will make you understand it! I would reccomend him to anyone!

I'm terrible at math,I took mat0020 twice im so bad, I was terrible until i met Professor Stepp, he is the only teacher to this day that has succesfuly taught me math i took him for MAT0024 made an A, I took him for MAT1033 and made a B+ ... Zac is a great teacher. He has a way of breaking down the information so ALL can understand it. I would highly recommend him to anyone taking 1033, whether you are an excellent math student or struggle in math, you WILL know your material when you complete the class. Z Stepp is absolutely the best math teacher I've ever had, high school or college. He is very good at explaining things in a couple different ways if you have trouble understanding. I'm glad he's still teaching so that I can take College Algebra with him in the fall.

Zac is a good teacher. His tests were meant to prepare the students to pass the SFC final. He didn't try to trick anyone.There should be a place to rate the SFC final and those responsible for it. Obviously, they have inferiority issues and feel the need to make these tests difficult to pass. Zac tries to prepare his students for the sadistic final

MAC1105 was a summer A rush course. The professor warned us this is a hard class and the dept. final is about a 60% average. He did his best to prepare us for the final by using department exams. Overall it is a very hard class in general, I just passed with a C+. I worked hard and when to his office, he was very helpful.

His tests are almost impossible. If you are not good at math, don't take him.

If you are not good at math, don't take him. His tests are very difficult, I did my homeowrk and went to class and I struggled a lot with the tests...it seems to me that the book problems and what we cover in class is very different to the test problems. he's a good teacher but only for those who feel confortable with math.

Didn't Steppers tell us this class was hard, and it was a 6 week course! Who would take a 6 week course in math that is weak in the subject and expect to pass. Plus half the students didnt even show up every day! I think everyone here is being a little harsh. Stepp did great, I came out with barely with a B but man did I learn.

I thought he was awesome. He does talk really fast, but he explains the material well and is always avail for questions. I am terrible at math, and I came away w a really solid grasp of this that I never expected to have. He is hands down the best math teacher I've ever had, and I wish I could have had the material explained this way years ago.

He is so funny, hot, and a really good teacher. He may be fast, but honestly you get the hang of it and i really really recommend him.

Professor Stepp is awesome! He does move fast, but he offers help for anyone that gets lost. Attendance doesn't matter, homework is not mandatory, but it helps and he goes over any questions. Tests are really easy. He jokes a lot and he's really fun. If you want an easy, fun class take Stepp, he's legit.

My first math teacher that actually taught the material well and makes sure you understand it before moving on. Very helpful and teaches you the easiest way for the information to stick. He's laid back especially about attendance but I enjoyed going to the class even though I already knew the material.

Very humorous fellow which makes class enjoyable. Isn't good at returning tests/quizzes and slacked off posting grades at end of semester. Test questions tricky, so study notes hard. He was always helpful in office hours since I lost most of the material in class due to his lightning speed lectures! Take him, if not, take Eisenberg. She rocks 2.

Great teacher, especially considering the teacher we had earlier in the semester could barely speak English, but he was a great replacement. He is very clear in what he teaches, just take good notes and do the homework. Highly recommended.

We had 10 bonus questions, my MGF1107 teacher didn't have 1 bonus on the final.... i mean come on?!! Pro: Zachary Stepp was very good teacher for me the yr of 2011. He alwasys with you to help and also gave the extra credit to help with your grade so you can pass. When taking the final is you is to score atleast a 50% to pass the course so Im telling you take him he is great....I got a B in his class

Zach is a great explainer, the analogies he uses create deeper understanding. The only problem is he's left handing so when he is doing the notes you are not able to see what he's writing until he takes his hand off.

Professor Stepp is a true gem. He cares deeply about his students and will go the extra mile to make sure you understand the contents of his class. He does goes fast but he is always happy to repeat himself and will create analogies that will facilitate comprehension. Just read the reviews, they don't lie, this guy is the rockstar of math faculty.

This guy goes the extra mile. He will hold extra study hours the night before online to help. Is personable and genuine. He goes a tad fast but can always ask him to clarify.

Great professor, had him for stats online and it was great. He always has extra credit questions on exams and a few projects/ worksheets. Homework is assigned but not worth points, mostly for clarifications and hw help. Super funny and had fun analogies. Never thought i would get an A in stats, this man is great, take him!

He is SO awesome. He gives really nice videos to you before every test wishing you a good luck, and will basically tell you what is on the test if you attend his zoom reviews beforehand. Such an easy class, and a really dope dude.

Professor Stepp is the best Math teacher I have had at Santa Fe! He knows how to thoroughly teach statistics and have students understand the material. He gives and an extra credit question on each quiz and exam and drops your lowest quiz and exam at the end of the semester. I wish he taught other math classes that I will be taking in the future!

I could go on and on about professor Stepp. He's engaging, funny, and smart, and he really cares about his student's success. He gave an extra credit point on each test, and extra reviews outside of class. The way he teaches math is easy to understand and interesting.

Professor Stepp answers emails promptly. He is helpful and willing to assist. He does a good job of explaining how to do problems in his lectures. Homework is manageable. Plenty of time to prepare for tests. His practice tests are very helpful. He also uses silly YouTube videos with people rapping math lessons, problems & vocab to help you learn.

Professor Stepp is the best teacher you could possibly get for stats. I had taken stats in high school already and was scared about taking it in college, little did I know I would get a 98% in this class because of this professor! In zoom class he would always tell us what exactly would be on the test and always gave us an extra credit question.

He is a awesome teacher!!!!!!! As long as you do the work you should get a good grade. He had zoom class once a week to answer questions and work out harder questions that would be on the test. I hope I can take him in the STATS class....

I took Professor Stepp for MGF1106 this summer because I previously had him for Stats and loved him as I got a high A. I was a little bummed because I thought this class would be as straight forward as the Stats class, but it was actually far more stressful. He is a great person, but this class only relied off of your test grades basically.

Could not be more satisfied with his teaching. ( don't know my final grade, can tell its not going to be below a b) His zoom lectures are the best! Really cares for his students understanding the material and he tells us everything we could possibly need to know for the exams. Also has a great sense of humor lol. Wish I could take him for stats :(

I absolutely hate math but i LOVED this class. Professor explains everything really well and is always available to help if you need it. He responds very quickly to all emails and messages. Grade is based on homework assignments, 3 projects, 3 tests and a final. I cant recommend him enough for stats!

Easiest stats class out there. He gives a practice test for each test, including the final. The questions are exactly the same as the ones on the real tests except for different numbers. He drops the lowest test. All of the test questions are the exact same as the homework, which are super easy because you can redo the questions until it's right.

Greatest Stats professor of all time! I was nervous about taking statistics, but it was a requirement so I had to. Professor Stepp made this class very manageable. There is a lot of homework, but plenty of time to do it(and you can redo the homework until you get 100%),3 lab assignments, 4 exams, and extra credit.

Great teacher, really shows that he cares about his students and about what he teaches, will definitely take him again.

I absolutely loved taking Stats with Professor Stepp! He's such an incredible math instructor. I've taken stats a few times now with different professors, and I never had success passing the class till I took his class. He's a fair grader, explains the material really well, and goes above and beyond for his students. I would highly recommend!!!!!!!

I am currently taking Professor Stepp at FGC. His lectures definitely help me understand statistic and I am grateful that he covers everything and shows problems for us to see as an example. If I had to take statistics again I would take it with him again.

He gave a lot of time to do the assignments and you could do them in 2 hours a week, but I believe he expected the students to practice a lot, I never worked that much tho. Also, he let us have a cheat paper with formulas, but he would let just one attempt in the quizzes so I would say he is pretty balanced as a teacher.

Best Stats professor at the college. I would recommend everyone take him!!!

This professor was great. I thought I was going to struggle because the class was online but he uploads videos of everything we need to know, they are very short but extremely informational. His lectures are very short but to the point which make you grasp the information quicker. I would recommend him a million times.

Stepp was amazing! This was an online course which consisted of 3 labs (3 points) 3 tests (drops lowest) homework (21) 4 practice test (EC) and a final. One page of notes front and back allowed on ALL tests, the practice tests have WORD FOR WORD Q&A on the actual test and final. Gave alot of feedback and help, lectures never went for the whole time

Highly recommend Dr. Stepp! He is one of the best professor's I've ever had. Makes learning fun and interesting. Offers lots of time to do the homework, exams, and extra credit. Easy A if you do the practice exams.

take him - all online so easy. one hw assignment a week w prof lecture vids explaining the lesson. u do hw until u get a 100. everything is due friday, but extended till tuesday if your busy. prx tests are just like the tests and all the Qs come from the hw if not. tests are at home on honorlock. gives extra credit if you do the prx exams for tests

Professor Stepp is a very good math professor. His course is set up so that you can keep doing homework until you get a good enough grade! The practice tests are identical to the tests with a couple of added questions! Highly recommend him as a professor!

Very simple and straightforward class, he posts short videos every week and if you watch them and complete the homework assignments you will get a good grade

I had to do tutoring 2x/wk all sem but don't let that scare you- I am that bad at math. I knew going in I'd struggle w/taking this online w/out outside help, but it was worth the extra effort so I could take advantage of his generous course setup. The 1 pg of notes per test was a god send. Don't think any other Stats prof @ SF has that allowance!

Great experience for STA2023. If you are looking to bang out the course over the summer, I highly suggest Summer B with Dr.Stepp.

You can tell he enjoys what he does. Dr. Stepp answers emails all times of the day and night, which is nice if you have an urgent question.

He answers emails quickly, and is willing to meet with you via zoom for office hours if you need help, all assignments are due Friday and if you need more time, it's automatically extended to Tuesday. Take STA2023 with him!

Taking STA2023 with Dr. Stepp is the best decision I ever made. He makes statistics easier to understand and gives you plenty of methods to learn the material. If you do the practice tests he provides and study the homework assignments, you will be set to be successful in the course. I'd recommend Dr. Stepp to any of my friends!

such a layed back course if you are good in math. he has awesome practice exams that will teach you everything you need to know for the exams, and also great lectures. everything is due on fridays but is extended til tuesday (Including Exams) and it has been a life saver, as I am currently in BIO and CHM as well. I'd take him for any math u can.

Super easy to pass. 2-3 hw a week with videos and multiple tries on hw. He has 3 tests and the final exam but does practice test for extra credit, does a video going over and explaining each question on the practice test and then for the actual test its the same questions plus a few extras and allowed a sheet of notes for the exam.

I took him this last summer online. He allows you to write your own formula sheet for tests. 3 main tests, proctored through HonorLock. I mostly just watched the videos at the beginning of each of the textbook sections and that was enough to understand. Could probably do the accelerated version with no problem. I now feel confident in trig.

As someone who has never taken statistics in high school, this class is perfect. His videos are specific, yet short. The homework assignments and study guides relate VERY similarly to the tests so make sure to use your resources. He even offers extra credit by completing the study guides. You can use notes on tests, got a 99 in the course...TAKE IT

Take him!!!!! This was my 3rd attempt at statistics because my other professors were not the best ;(. But he made it possible for me to move on in life. The best stats Professor!!!!! The class is easy if you put in the work.

Stepp made this class easy. You can take all exams online using lock down browser. I believe you have to pay for that as well as the McGraw Hill textbook. He gave exact instructions for everything, I didn't have any questions, he gives an extra 2-3 days for test due dates except for the final.

Dr Stepp made the class very easy. Extra credit for completing practice exams which are very similar to the actual exams, you can bring one page of notes for exams. 4 labs with clear feedback. Amazing class overall, would def recommend!

Professor Stepp's STA2023 class is a breeze if you put in the work. The short, informative videos and flexible deadlines make it easy to succeed. Unstuck AI was a game-changer for my prep - highly recommend it along with the optional textbook.

Great professor overall. Had him for Stats which was a breeze, but Calculus is TOUGH! Did not expect such a difference but he told us this is a major class for many students and calc is not meant to be easy. Has a 'due date' and an 'extension date' which is nice.

Dr. Stepp was an amazing professor and his class was very straightforward. The class consists of mainly HW and labs. He grades everything fairly. His tests were difficult but very doable if you put in the work and study. Very helpful and caring! Would take him again.

I struggled with Calculus 1 in the past but Prof. Stepp's course was explained much better and more fair than my last professor. Test material is still difficult but the final exam revolves around the past tests so you know what to expect. Prof. Stepp includes a curve and will even drop your lowest test grade sometimes. He's very willing to help.

Well explained. Test weigh a lot towards your grade. Tests are a little bit more difficult than the homework.

Statistics is tough, but Dr. Stepp made sure we had tons of resources to help us learn the material. He includes an extension for all assignments and tests, except the final, which was great because sometimes I needed extra time to figure out the assignments. He was always ready to help students if they were confused by the material or needed help.
