this is the best math professor I've ever had. He works magic with those equations. He is a very good humored suave gentleman. Extremely empowering to women in the sciences...take his class he comes in with an entourage!!!

This is a great professor!! He explains very easy and just loves teaching. I recommend to take him for any math that he is teaching. I'm taking him for 095 and I wouldn't take any other teacher but him!! Cool professor!!

Hands down the best professor at valley. I was terrified of math, and had dropped the classes several times before I followed through in Dr. Reid's class. He makes math relevant and interesting, something that I thought was impossible. Any potential teacher should take his class just to learn how to teach in such an amazing manner.

OMG...this guy is AWESOME (with capital letters!)...He is such an excellent, smart, and funny professor. I always...ALWAYS have fun in his class every class meeting. I wish every professor could be like him (sighs)

Personally, I do not like his teaching style. He's not hard enough and I feel as if I didn't learn a thing in his class. Luckily I didn't have too, I got an A anyway. This made going to class hard. I don't usually skip out, but it was hard for me to sit in that chair being so bored to death!

Dr. read is a very nice teacher.He does what ever he can to help a student understand.He does not mind going over the work until you understand.

I was so scared taking this class which was my final class before tranferring. OMG! This the only Professor that I have ever met that made Mathematics user friendly, in a language that is understood by all. He using the Holistic approach which works for everyone. This is a Beautiful class, Don't get excited it is just mathematics. Very enjoyable class even in only 6 weeks. I will be taking him for 095 in the Fall as well. He has a way of making what looks difficult into something I can understand. I am 40 so it has been a long time since I have done this sort of math.

Now Class Pay Attention! This is very important "DEJA VU". That is his little saying. I recommend Reid for Math 090. If I hate math and have struggled with it for years by putting it off & off & I am currently receiving an "A" after 2 exams in his Math 090 Summer 2007 Class you can definitely pass this class with flying colors. Dr. Reid is GREAT!!

i liked this class. i took his plane trig class during the summer. he was a really good teacher and explained things pretty well. he went over homework and answered questions people had on various math problems

He appears to possess a genuine concern for his students to pass his class, unlike any other instructor I have ever had.

Jamaican teacher with a slight but lovable accent(his English is not ambiguous at all). His love for mathematics and his students shines through in class. He makes some hilarious jokes and comments during his lectures. He is clear, concise, and 50% of his tests are take home tests. In addition to this he offers a lot of extra credit.

Mr Reid was one of the best teachers that I have had at valley so far he loves when students ask questions and isn't afraid to go back and explain things. Didn't understand math till I took it with Reid he's a great teacher and really helps you understand math. I would love to take him through out college.

He is such a funny, down to earth teacher who really cares about his students.You have to listen to him, take down notes and you don't really need your book. He gives out Z.R.'s (mini pop-quizes) do all of them! Even if you don't know the answer turn your paper in cause it's worth 5 points. Some Z.R.'s are worth 200. They save you!

Proffesor really explains things to the students. You will understand math if you take him. Class moves really slow, which can become annoying, but easy class. You don't have to turn in homework either.

Dr. Reid was amazing. Very clear and understanding, and will help you if you don't understand the concepts. Definitely recommend taking him. He assigns, but doesn't collect homework (which you should do) and offers extra credit. He evens helps if your math skills aren't the best.

He makes it difficult to fail his class. If you're not doing well in his class he offers ZR extra credit points. If you are doing well they don't help. He's a fun teacher. He doesn't give out much HW. His test can be confusing because he gets them out of other books(cal state for valley and vice) versa)He's and easy teacher but you still learn.

Dr. Reid is one of the best math instructors I've ever had. He loves when students ask questions and he is very thorough when he teaches. His assistants are very helpful, and to want to get rid of them would only create a bigger work load on the students. I'm not an assistant but I took his class last semester. TAKE HIS CLASS!

Best math teacher ever!!! When he retires, it will be a sad day for the math students. He takes a complicated subject and makes it very easy to understand. With some instructors, I find it easier to read the book then listening to them, however Dr. Reid is the total opposite, this is why I try not to miss a class lecture. Great Teacher!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dr. Reid is overall an amazing teacher. He loves math and is devoted to getting you to learn it. There is NEVER a dull moment in his class and he'll crack a joke any chance he gets. He makes it sooooo difficult to fail his class with his excessive extra credit and when it comes to tests all you have to remember is that his name is "Mr. Deja Vu" :)

This is an awesome proffesor. He has these questions he calls "ZR problems" that if you get right exempts you from tests.

Reid is very funny, I loved his sense of humor. If there's a knock on him its that he goes too slow causing a mad rush to get things done at the end. This could also cause problems if you plan to move on to higher maths. He give lots of oppurtunities to redeem from a bad test grade also.

Dr. Reid truly cares about his students and really wants everyone to succeed. He's pretty laid back and funny, and he definitely knows his math too. Seriously he loves mathematics! You can go to his office also and he'll be ready and willing to break everything down. I certainly recommend him for all math courses. We need more professors like him.

This class require you to do all your work, pay attention in class, attend all classes and study alot if you wanna earn an A. He has own way of teaching which worked for me. He likes all his students interacting with him and each other. So if you learn better when it is quiet, this teacher is not for you.

I had him for 102 this professor is simply AMAZING! I didnt like math at all and he changed my point of view. I have had a lot of problems with this subject but he made it so simple to understand it was just awesome. His assistant was very helpful and caring, she did her best to help students. I don't think class could have been so good without her

Loved him as a professor ! Every example really helps with the homework u don't turn it in but if u don't do it it will be reflected on our quiz , had a D but if u pass his final he forgives ur "sins" and i got a b maxim professor helpful and for advocate for students

Dr. Reid was a different sort of teacher, he offered extra credit problems that challenged you to see if you really understood the problems. His quizzes were usually half take-home and half in-class. You did the take-home first and then the in-class quiz had the same type of problems as the take home.

DR. REED IS THE STANDARD FOR ALL INSTRUCTORS. BEYOND FAIR, HE CLEARLY EXPLAINS HOW TO WORK OUT MATH PROBLEMS. THIS INSTRUCTOR HAS THE MAGIC TO HAVE STUDENTS LEARN IN A COMFORTABLE SETTING. MATH IS A DRAG FOR SOME AND HE HELPS MAKE IT FUN? NOT, BUT CLASS DOES MOVE SMOOTHLY. HOPE HE GETS 2013 SHELBY THAT HE WANTS, HE'S EARED IT.

Dr. Reid LOVES math and it shows. He approaches it with the insightful depth of a philospoher, the spiritual fervor of a preacher, and the imagination of an artist. He does not hold the hands of students who hate math by making it some kind of "color by numbers" job of memorizig rules and forumlas. And his TA is terrific if you get to know her.

After more than 15yrs since H.S graduation and feeling competent in Algebra, It became obvious what was missed and what I had totally forgotten."Be Not Deceived" Dr.Reid&Thuy were Hands-down the best! He clearly defined Algebra and simultaneously re-tooled me and 45 other students with shortcuts,confidence and positive productive results.Way to Go!

If I had to describe this guy I would describe him as passionate. One day comes in with a napkin from where he had lunch and on it he came up with a Beautiful Problem and he made it a quiz. Unfortunately I did not take the class to serious because I worked full time, but those who are not like me will like this guy and do good. Just STUDY!!

Professor Reid is the greatest professor that i have ever taken at Valley College. He truly cares about all of his students and wants all of his students to do well. He is so gifted with Math and only wants to share his gift with others. If you want to be a Math major or you just need Math do yourself the favor and take his class, you will love it!

Professor Reid is an excellent math professor. He truely cares about his students and will motivate you to keep coming to class. Dr.Reid try his best to make sure every students understand the materials before moving on. To be sucessful in this class you need to read ahead, do your homework.

Dr Reid is a wonderful professor, he explain well and always open to question even in middle of lecture. In order to be successful in this class, you need to know basics skills and keep with the homework. The most important thing is to understand the concept not memorizing the process of solving problems. Exam questions are similar to homework.

He is a great prof! I am an English major so its safe to say that math isn't my thing..but DR. Reid really enjoys teaching and takes the time to make sure each student understands. he's very helpful as well, and encourages questions. The test reflects the homework, no surprises, I passed with a B, & I actually learned as well as enjoyed the class.

Dr. Reid is a great teacher. He is very engaging and gives tons of opportunities to challenge your self. This is a challenging course and is not supposed to be easy. Exams are 30% take home, 70% in class. Helps you out but you have to put in work if you want to pass, also bring your book.

A textbook is a must, because exams are very similar to homework question assigned and chapter test. Very clear and will slow down to explain when question being asked.

Dr. Reid is such a great teacher. However, the material that he is given to teach can be challenging. He really tries to help as much as he can.I struggled in his class, but because I stuck it out and kept trying (even though i was having a really hard time) he still passed me, because he understands that math isn't meant for everyone.

He is the best math teacher I have ever taken. I struggle with math and he made me grow fonder towards math so much that I almost considered majoring in math. His examples were truly the best and after a lecture he even gives you a chance to be exempt from the tests if you can solve a single problem. I was exempt from three tests. Easy A.

Great Professor. Will answer any questions you have for a problem or equation you may not understand. But, he wants the student to figure out what to do, which then helps everyone else understand the same problem. I will be taking him again for Math 250 because I trust his teaching style and brain challenging questions.

Dr. Reid is the best!I have taken him for Calulus I and Calculus II and they have been so easy to understand! He shows you how to solve one or two easy problems every day and then assigns optional homework for your review! AMAZING LECTURER!! I did well in Calc II with moderate effort in his class. Cannot wait for Linear and Differential Equations!

outstanding, wow this teacher really made word problems fun, I was really worried about this class but it was good. lets you work with groups, take home midterm, take home final. he truly wants you to learn, and you will. show up he gives problems in class that are worth lots of points

Professor Reid was amazing. He gives problems and if you get it right he gives you extra credit. At the end of the semester he collects those paper and gives 10% extra credit. He reviews all the tests and practically gives you the answers. Some were group tests. The final is take home. Study for the SLO. EASY A.

I was a little worried coming back to school after a 9 year break but I attended every day, took notes studied did as much of the extra credit I could do and Professor Z made me remember why I originally majored in Math. Hope I get to take a class with him again.

I love this professor, he truly cares about each one his students. Professor Reid is one of the few caring math teachers on campus. If you fail, he does not see it being your fault but what he did wrong. There are many opportunities to get an A in the class. Just talk with him if you are struggling. Show up everyday and you will do fine.

He helps understand the concept of math. Doesn't give out much or any homework. Honestly he only want two thing from his students. 1. Show up in person and participate (ZR Points MATTER) 2. Just try If you can manage to do those two things you will pass no matter what your grade is in the class
