doesn't know what she is doing a lot of the time and expects you to do stuff that she does not tell you to do on tests. Some people may find her very easy, some people may find her a little hard.
Slightly difficult to understand what she says in class, but her boardwork is very thorough and comprehendable. Also, she is extremely helpful one on one, so visit her during office hours. She tells you almost exactly what to study for the tests, and as long as you do a few of the practice problems she gives for hw, you should do very well.

She is ok. She will help you out a lot. When your taking exams just keep asking her questions and she'll basically give you the answers. Usually the homework isn't on the tests, it's the work she does on the board. Too bad I realized this at the end of the semester. She's a little hard to understand at first.
If you think Zahra is hard you must be retarded or close to it. Man. Precal. is high-school algerbra and she makes it easy by her method of teaching. If you screw up on an exam just go up to her after class and see of you can raise your grade, she gave me 10 points once. Great teacher, simple subject, if you can't do it drop out of college.
great teacher, she is willing to help everyone. She tries to help everyone out, retested because everyone did bad. Very little homework and the class flies by.
She was a good teacher, classes consisted of her writing on the board and teaching us examples of problems. I had no problems with her, she was really helpful in preparing for tests. There is about 1 or 2 quizzes a week
Not bad class. Attendence is mandatory, and after first class missed she takes two points off final average. Very easy class though. Quiz every friday normally, and three tests and final. Rare homework, but easy class
Great Professor! I had not taken any math class in over 8 years. She was willing to meet before or after school to help me understand the world that is math. If you show up to class, do the few math problems (around 10) each night, you WILL do well. It's that simple. If a student like me could get an A, everyone could as well.
This is a great professor. Not the best subjects to be taught, but she is very willing to help you out if you just ask. Her Reviews for all Exams, are essentially the exam itself. Study just that, and examples in your notes. Take down all the notes, they are extremely helpful. Grade is Quiz's and Exam's and Attendance. Great Professor!
so this professor is very nice. i cant really agree about anything else. i tried to meet with her to get extra help because im terrible at math. she said she didnt have time. i actually had to skip a class to retake a test. i mean shes nice but i feel more time could have been spent on material. she went really fast
She explains the material really well. Her tests are manageable and she is always available for extra help. I saw her before every class for a few weeks just to learn all the material. She will go the extra mile. if your not good at math I would DEF recommend taking this class with her.
Too strict with attendance and makeups, goes way too fast, and is rude. Should just get extra help from tutoring if you want to pass.
Awesome!!! I have always hated math, but this professor has made it easy for me to learn. Pace isn't too fast; if you don't understand something she will stop the lesson and make sure you get it before she moves on. Easy quizzes/tests.
She is very nice and is fairly easy. You're going to have to learn the material for the exams. She started giving us take home quizzes rather than in class quizzes and the class got a lot easier. Projects are a sinch. You shouldn't have any apprehension about taking her.
She's really nice and very willing to help. If you aren't good at math you should take her. Tests are just like the homework.
I really like this professor. She is very clear when she lectures, quizzes and tests are very similar to examples she goes over. She is willing to help you if you need it. She is strict w/ attendance so if you are planning on skipping this class a lot, don't take this prof.
This professor is THE BEST math teacher I have ever had! she knows the material, she knows how to explain it, and she makes the class FUN! i was mad about the fact that she is not teaching calc but I loved the class i recommend her 200% for any math class
SHE IS THE BEST TEACHER EVER! She is extremely helpful and is willing to help students who needs it. She gives students a review sheet to do before each test, so there is no excuse not to do well. Overall once you take pre-calc with her you're bound to want to sign up for calc with her, which usually have a long waiting list of over 12 students!
Wonderful professor. She's really good at explaining things! She's very strict about attendance because she takes the time to actually show up and never skips class. I suck at math but learned so much. Always there for extra help. Homework assigned once every week or two, was online and was really easy. I think she was amazing
Amazing Teacher! I'm glad i had a chance to learn math with her. i am sad i can't no longer sign up for her class. It's full! Well good teacher are hard to find.
She's a very good teacher. Very clear on notes. She answers student questions with no problems. She also gives study guides before the tests and the grading is scaled. Fair grader overall, I recommend!
Her pre-calc class is super easy if you know the basics of algebra and math. I sat in the back never paid attention and got an A+ but that is also because I am good at math. She is hard to understand a lot with her accent but the class is easy and I did love the use of Mymathlab
SHE IS WONDERFUL!! I failed precalc in high school and did good in her class. She gives study guides for the test and is great at explaining things. The homework is online and is fairly easy and it actually teaches you.
If you aren't good at math she will recommend you go study somewhere else. Not sure why she is so wonderful, if you don't do well on the exams you have no chance in passing the class. She has no mercy to fail anyone. She will gladly do it no matter how many times you've taken the class. Better be decent in math or ur screwed. Attendance is must.
Her class is easy and she is extremely helpful. She grades easily on tests and projects. She may not be able to understand, but she provides clarity when she draws out the math.
She can't teach.Blows through the material and is the most unforgiving person. Does not care about the students and announced to the class the withdrawal date is coming up so take your pick. Dont take he class if you struggle at all with math
This professor is very straight-forward in her lectures and assignments. She will give you literally everything you will need to know in the syllabus and she will explain anything you need to know during class, AS LONG AS YOU ASK. Attendance is mandatory, and be sure to pay attention to her lectures if you want to pass.
One of the best professors I had!! She is so sweet & helpful, explains everything clearly and is willing to help any1. She makes effort to meet up and explain if anyone is unable to go to her office hours. Reviews thoroughly prior to each exam, as well as she holds extra classes if needed before exams. PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS & u'l be more than fine
She is very nice and explains everything well, though her accent makes understanding what variable she is trying to say a little hard. Also, she is strict about attending and not missing quizzes. However you can go to her office hours anytime and she will gladly repeat the entire lesson one on one for you! Very Helpful!
This is by far the worst professor I've ever had at Umass Lowell, and I've had some bad ones. This woman's inability to teach or explain anything, lack of passion, and sheer laziness make it nearly impossible for a good student to succeed. She is the most unhelpful and careless teacher I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with.
She is the sweetest professor, easily the best math professor I've ever had. Honestly, I SUCK at math. If you go to class and take notes you will get an A. Her study guides spell out the test. The people below me must have skipped class and spent the whole hour on their phones. She takes attendance very seriously so GO TO CLASS! You'll get an A.
By far the absolute best math teacher I've ever had in years of my education. After having taking both precalc and calc with her, my attitude towards math has changed. She emails you the exam and final reviews, so you know exactly what to expect on exams. Go to every class and do the extra credit projects, you'll get an A for sure.
Zahra is extremely friendly and wants the best for all of her students. She sends out practice exams that are exactly like the real exams. Class is very easy, only one homework assignment a week which is great for a math class. DO NOT need to buy the textbook because you have to buy an online copy to do homework. Would strongly recommend.
Good teacher, sometimes hard to understand. Always ask when you have a question because she will always be sure to answer it.
Take notes. She gives plenty of examples. If you have trouble with an equation, she will o the problem step by step for you (this works great with me, but I know some students who hate how she doesn't explain things further than the step by step). I've taken her for precalc & calc. She is pretty clear... Makes calculus easy
Zahra is a sweetheart, loves teaching. She goes above and beyond each concept to make sure the whole class understands. This class does however, require a good amount of effort. You'll end up with at least a B if you go to every class, do the assignments, and seek her help when needed. You can't get lost in her class if you go everyday. Take her!
very good teacher as long as you put in the effort its a guarantee B atleast she makes herself available for office hours is a plus
If you attend every class and put effort into the homework then you will pass the class. There is weekly homework, but it does help with understanding the material and is not too hard. Her tests were not extremely difficult, but the final exam was really hard. She is always available for office hours and is understanding if you might miss one hw.
Zahra is a great teacher. I really enjoyed the class and I am not a math saavy person. If you follow her lessons they are spelled out clearly. If you have questions she is available to help you. Put in effort and you will do well.
I absolutely did not like her teaching style - fast paced and does not make you feel comfortable enough to ask questions during a lecture. She gives many examples in class but assumes everyone knows what she is talking about. It's more important for her to finish her lecture than having her students understand what she is teaching.
Zahra was great. A professor that is totally there for her students and encourages them to see her in her office if needed. You must study and be committed to this class in order to pass. If you plan on skipping and not doing the work, you have no chance of passing. If you go to every class, seek help and study, and do the work you'll get a B.
Fast lectures, and tries to squeeze everything in as quickly as possible. Take good notes, that is the only way you will understand how to do the homework problems at home. Gives a study guide for the test, STUDY IT. Overall a decent teacher, just wish she would slow down with the lecture so that students can better understand the material.
Lectures are too fast. Nice, accommodates with snow days, etc. But if math isn't your strong suit, don't take her, first day off class begins teach without going over syllabus. I do not recommend if you feel weak in math. Gives quizzes every week, assigns my mathlab homework and book homework all at once.
Do not think you can take this class, and just get an easy A without working for it. You NEED to show up for every class, and take good notes to review. She gives review guides out for every test, and gives weekly quizes. She is very homework heavy as well. Her teaching style is very fast also.
Very caring professor. You have to show up to every class. You can skip one day without getting points taken off, so choose that day wisely. She had weekly quizzes along with homework online and offline.
Great professor, managed to get a B even though I could've tried harder. Definitely would take again.
Prof. Fardmanesh is a great professor. She clearly states what she expects of you and gives great straightforward lessons. If you take good notes and study her study guides you will do great. Her book home works are graded based on effort and the online homework is unlimited tries. She also allows test retakes if you email her nicely!
I took Professor Fardmanesh from Mgmt Calculus, she is very good at meeting during office hours and will go out of her way to help you. Homework is based on effort and quizzes are problems from notes, she will tell you what to prepare for on quizzes and are not that hard. She's also really nice and friendly, the best teacher I've had a UML.
Amazing professor! If you have taken precalc or calculus in high school you will get an easy A in the class. I would highly recommend her as a professor. She gives weekly quizzes that are 2 questions long but gives a lot of partial credit even if you get the answer wrong. Overall a really great professor for math.
I really liked Zahra. She's cares and makes sure she is available outside of class. I would not recommend her if you struggle with math because she is very fast paced and there is no room for participation or questions. Weekly quizzes, textbook hw problems and online hw are not difficult to complete.
Great professor if math comes easy to you. If not, then you might struggle slightly as her lectures are somewhat fast paced, but she is always accessible outside of class and more than willing to help. One written hw due a week, along with one MML (curriculum required work that you'd have to do with any other professor as well). Overall easy A.
I took Zahra for mgmt precalc and calc and I loved her class! She is always accessible outside of class for extra help. There is online homework due each week and a short quiz once a week. She gives a practice exam which is very similar to the actual exam. This is definitely an easy class if you show up to every class and take good notes.
An outstanding teacher... I wish she could teach me every class I took. She makes sure you understand the material and is very thorough. Shes nice and very smart. She gives study guides for all the tests and exams. There is a quiz once a week and HW due once a week. Overall a good teacher and she makes math less painful.
Nice lady but teaches extremely fast. Be prepared to put in tons of effort and work hard outside of class because she rushes through everything in class. 3 tests, 2 ridiculous excel projects that barely have anything to do with calculus. Continuous online homework that is impossible to complete
Her class is only good if you already go in knowing the math. For people who are not good at math, you will have a really hard time understanding. Goes at an extremely fast pace and rarely gives opportunities to attempt to answer problems before she does them herself. She does not drop the lowest grade and her work is hard to follow.
Does not explain well for those trying to learn the subject. The class is very fast paced and she is very hard to understand. You can fall behind quickly even if you pay attention since she goes at a fast pace. When she does work on the board, you barely have time to comprehend something before she moves on.
Amazing professor. One of the best I have ever taken. Cares about her students. You gotta do the work and study and everything but it's pretty easy if you just pay attention and do the homework. I got A's on everything with minimal studying but everyone is different.
I had Zahra for management precalc and it was one of my favorite math classes I have ever taken. I had already taken precalc and calc in high school so this class was easy review to me, but even if I was learning it for the first time I feel like I still would have done well. She explains supply and demand graphs better than my Econ professor.
The best teacher of all time.
Worst professor ever when we ask questions in class she told us she cant spend all class explaining things to us. When ever I try to email her for questions she either doesnt respond or gives one word answers what are not helpful once so ever
She was a good teacher in person, taking her again for calc.
She doesn't care if her students do well. Not helpful and does not care if you pass or not.
Doesnt let you ask questions during exams and does not care if you do well or not. She does not explain step by step how to do the problems and just assumes you know how to do it. I do not recommend taking this professor. She would be rude if you did not understand something.
Do not recommend taking her as a professor as she is terrible at explaining how to do the problems . I went for office hours and was told I cant get help as she needs to eat her lunch meanwhile office hours are the times for the students.
I think she is an okay teacher, but not very pleasant at times. Having her class, I found that upon going to her for help, it didn't do very much. However, she posted practice exams that were very similar to the real ones with answer keys for you to study by. She tended to be sort of rude at times, and it seemed that others felt this way too.
If you have never taken pre cal before her class isnt for you. I go into this class thinking I Will be taught from the beginning but no this teacher claimed that there wasnt enough time to reteach pre cal. I found this odd as I was in her pre cal class and she should have taught from the beginning. I also felt embarrassed to ask questions.
Boring. Nearly slept in all her classes. MAKES ME WANNA HATE MATH MORE
When going to college I was nervous if the professors would be rude and let me tell you, this one definitely turned that around she was so nice and kind. Anytime I had a question outside of class she would respond almost minutes after. She is highly dedicated to teaching and is one of those that does it for the job not the salary.
Zahra is a great professor. Her classes are very fast-paced, and it is easy to fall behind, but if you stay up to date on the material and study for the exams, it is an easy A. Zahra is very willing to help if you fall behind. She almost never takes attendance and the textbook is only used for practice problems. I never had to read a page of text.
Zahra is an excellent mathematics teacher. She is kind and her lectures are very pleasant. She goes through everything clearly in class, and is available for you if you need help. Attendance is not mandatory but if you want a good grade you really should show up to class, as the content builds upon itself. Ignore the bad reviews.
Really only need to attend for quizzes if you already know the material otherwise go to every class. Would highly suggest going to her office hours, as she goes over what is exactly on her quizzes and exams. Also ask her for MLM Exam Practices as they tend to be the same as her exams. She also has an accent but it's not bad. Overall pretty good.
Really enjoyed her class. It was my favorite all semester. She's a great professor and she teaches all of the material in class so you never have to read the book... as long as you show up. Attendance matters. Its funny listening to her accent sometimes
I love having Zahra as my teacher this semester. I'm so glad I ended up with her for MGMT Calculus. The class was actually really difficult but she teaches all of the material in class. Like someone else mentioned, you don't have to read the book if you show up. Great teacher and also very funny at times
Take her class!! She's the easiest grader and gives extensions on every homework assignment. She gives partial credit on every quiz/exam. She cares about how well each student does and gives extra credit on your final grade based on how well your attendance record was. I can not stress enough to take this professors class if it is open.
The GOAT Calc teacher.
Really fast paced. Sweet and caring person. Easy grader, gives extra credit on pretty much every problem. Quiz and homework every week but really straight forward and its all covered in class
This professor gave a quiz once a week in class. The quizzes would have 1-2 questions so if you get a question wrong, you're automatically screwed. She is really nice but her practice sample exams are way easier than the actual exam so don't go in with low expectations. Always giving homework and is very lecture heavy. Good luck with her :)
She was very helpful and cared about her students. Very nice professor. She moved fast and talked a lot to the lectures felt long. Classwork wasn't difficult, quizzes were pretty easy. I went to her office hours and tutoring. Her work was somewhat challenging for me but I learned a lot from her class.
Whenever I asked for help she would help which was great but at times I still quite didn't understand. One time during a quiz I had a question and she said "I should know how to do it by now" in front of the silent class and made me cry. I dropped her class because she advised it!
Prof Fardmanesh was overall a great professor. She was always accessible outside of class, and made the material easy to learn. There are quizzes every week but that's pretty standard for al the math courses. She makes review videos for all of the exams and quizzes which help. She loves to use functions with ln and e so be careful about that
zahra is so nice and fun to be with in classes. good partial credit and replaces your lowest exam grade with the final if it's better. quizzes every week but she makes review videos so watch those and you'll be fine. she gives you a million examples in class so you learn it well. Do the HW well since she gives exam questions from there. take her!
her class was a breeze but i think part of it was because i already had a good understanding of precalc prior to taking her course. her lectures are all examples. there's a short quiz every week but she drops the lowest 2. overall id say she's a good prof for "easier" math but not so much for more advanced topics
Very helpful outside of class. Very patient and caring professor
If you need to take any math courses at Umass Lowell, take it with her. Believe me, you will be grateful for that decision the first day of the class. She is so caring, extends the homework deadline if we need, posts her notes on Blackboard so that we can go through it before class if we want to. Overall, she is the best of the best.
One of the best professors the school offers for calculus. Also all round a great person
Dr. Fardmanesh was a fantastic professor and was incredibly helpful in office hours. There was a lot of homework particularly in the earlier half of the semester, though I am awful at calculus so that might've just been me. The notes are available online, and videos + additional review material are prepared prior to quizzes/exams. Highly recommend.
Zarah was an amazing teacher and provided all of her notes. She was very lecture and practice problem heavy. There will be times will it will be a struggle to pay attention but its fine because all of the work she does is in the notes that she posts. Good grader from what I remember.
She is one of the best Professors of calc 2!!!
Lectures are always interesting. Great overall professor.
Everything you see is cap , tough grader, her exams look nothing like the practice exams , her homework is very annoying, yeah she'll drop videos and etc but they legit look nothing the quizzes or exams
I am horrible at math. She helped me understand things better. Gave a lot of extra help outside of class. Does not ever scale or round up. Un-negotiable with late work or makeups. Drops last three quizzes. Her final examples and review were nothing like the final and told us things weren't on the final when they actually were.
This professor teaches very quickly, you must attend all classes or you will fall behind fast. She takes attendance on random days so make sure to show up. Grading is based on 8 quizzes (3 lowest grades dropped). 3 exams and homework. Calculus is a difficult topic but she is super educated on the subject and is willing to help. Definitely recommend
Incredible teacher, super supportive and caring. I was able to quickly pick up on the material, although, she teaches fast. goat
Absolutely nobody can top this woman.Take all your math classes with Dr. Fardmanesh if you can.
professor fardmanesh is the best math teacher i've ever had. she posts video reviews before quizzes that are exactly like the quiz and practice problems with solutions are on blackboard. you will need to pay attention in class and do the homework, but if you do bad in this class it won't be because of her.
Zahra is an amazing Calc 2 professor - her lectures are super helpful, and she posts detailed notes and review videos. Though the workload is heavy, using unstuck study and the practice problems really helps. Highly recommend taking her class!
Zahra is amazing, class is not mandatory but she does mark if you are not showing up. Her lectures are very clear, must buy the textbook that has the homework but the homework is unlimited attempts worth 20% of your grade. She posts videos explaining the quizzes and exams before you take them. Took her for pre calc and calc she's great
The GOAT, take her if you can for Management Calculus. After every lecture she goes over examples and makes it easy to understand. Also very sweet. Helps us review quizzes and exams which got me prepared and is always ready to answer questions.
Do not recommend this professor, she will grade how she feels, doesn't give you any credit even if you tried your hardest on quizzes. Exams are okay not great if you have a hard time. She one time was handing out our exams back and she asked if everyone had their exams, I did not and she tried to play it out like "oh sorry I forgot" yet she had it.
By far the worst math teacher I have ever had. When I tell you, this lady does not care about you I mean she does not care about you. She doesn't know how to explain properly. She rushes through everything and when she does explain her work it is in the most confusing way. It's like she's speaking a different language. Don't take her class trust me
