love biology, loved the teacher, bless her heart she made it soooo easy, it was almost criminal but i learned alot thanks to her!!
Speanking as a Biology major, I can honestly say the person below me is a total liar. I agree she was a very nice lady, however she had a very thick accent. As far as exams go, they covered large amounts of material and required alot of memorization. You must study alot for this class in order to get an A.
She definitely was NOT easy! However, she did give us an opportunity or two to raise our grades, and was consistently fair. She was usually pretty gruff with us, but still likable.
Great professor, but she is prone to having at least weekly outrages. Sometimes, it's about people talking. Sometimes, it's about quality of presentations. She seriously needs to have her health checked out. She probably has major hypertension. She is also paranoid. The class, however, was great. I learned a lot of material in this course.
Best professor I have ever had as far as helping make sure her students understand the material. She is also more than fair when it comes to exams and grading, she is very helpful. As a biology major if there is a class she teaches I will most definitely be taking it!
very easy class, the exams cover ONLY what she goes over in class, so make sure you take good notes. if you read your textbook and understand the material you will do fine in this class. She does yell at the class almost one every week though.
I did not like her teaching style. She only goes of picture slides. She has 4 tests and 1 final(comprehensive),and one group project. I didnt attend class often because I could not understand her. If you are able to study on your own you will do fine. I made a B and all I did was read over the material covered on the study guides!
Will always help those who wish to be helped. She is very passionate about her subject and is always available to those who want to learn.
Dr. Al-Dawhi is such a sweetheart! Though her lectures can be a little boring sometimes. I took Mammaliam phys over the summer. She gives you a review and lets you know what pages you really need to read, exams are clear and easy, if you study.
You must really study in order to receive A. She lectures directly out of the textbook. She really knows what she is talking about.
Dr. Al Dhawi is a great instructor. She makes learning Anatomy very easy. Se gives 4 tests and now, an non comprehensive final. As long as you pay attention in class and write down what she lectures, fast, you will be ok. Her exams cover exactly what she goes over in class, no confusion or trick questions. She is the best A/P instructor at UTEP.
I took this professor because I thought she was going to be a good teacher, however you can never understand her lectures and that class was extremely boring. Half of the class she spends yelling and lecturing us about being bad students. Tests are easy if you study ON YOUR OWN. I only went to class like 7 times and I got a high B. Don't take her.
Dr. Al Dawhi is an excellent professor. She only tests you on what is covered in lecture. The week before the test, she gives a detailed outline on what pages and paragraphs from the book that will be on the test. If you failing, you aren't going to lecture or reading. She also adjusts grades if she makes an error. She is challenging but fair.
Professor Al-Dahwi puts her students first. She stresses that we should learn the material, rather than memorize, to help those going into Bio/Nursing careers. Her tests are only over what she covers in class and gives open book tests, though do not rely on that too heavily. She repeats material constantly, but that only helps reinforce the info.
For this class you can pass as long as you read the book. Her lectures are confusing most of the time and sometimes I cannot understand what she is saying because the class is very big and she doesn't like to use the microphone. She likes to yell at people sometimes mainly the ones who are talking or who try to leave early. Takes attendance.
Hard to understand. She lectures from the book like she has that thing memorized. We were in an auditorium and any time she was asked to use the mic she would throw a fit. Didn't give any reviews. Our first exam was open book. Don't let that fool you. The rest were extremely difficult because she likes to reword and trick you on questions. Boring.
Do not take her! Pretty hard class, you need to read and memorize every word of the freaking book in order to pass this class. She gives pretty bad reviews for the exam; she only gives the page numbers that you need to read from the book but sometimes its almost the whole chapter. She gives waaaaaay to much material.
She is so knowledgeable. She basically know everything from the book and explains it simply. You could just read the book if you wanted and it would easily translate into the tests. To study just read the textbook and all will be fine. She did assign an extra credit project to our class.
Very knowledgeable lady, but the class is so hard. She pretty much reads directly from the book so attendance isn't mandatory at all, kids were showing up for exams only and still passed. Tends to spend a lot of time yelling at students for being late or waking out of class. Would absolutely not take this professor again.
Al-Dahwi is very impressive, she teaches with all the info in her mind. And when you read the book, its exactly what she says in class, so you really don't need it if you cant get it. Her tests are easy if you read and study, and take good notes, she is very nice and helpful during office hours, I respect her very much.
I wouldn't take her again! Tests a tricky and hard. She knows her material so well she uses that as an advantage to come close to failing one if she could. Not structured. No power point to help with lecture or reviews for test. Don't take her.
I enjoyed Dr. Al-Dahwi's anatomy 1 & 2 classes. Her classes are tough but you will be able to pass them. Her tests get harder every time, but she does open book and take home tests sometimes.
She gives 4 tests and 1 non comprehensive final. She may drop your lowest test score, give one open book test, and allow one take home test. All the questions on the test are taken directly from the book and her tests are extremely specific to the point that you may end up having to to memorize 1 to 2 chapters word for word.
It is possible to pass the class! I took Vertebrate Physiology but it was more like an A&P course. She will give an outline of sections in the book covered on the test. She wants her students to pass. Do the extra credit project, take notes and READ! Tests are multiple choice, gives 1 take home and she drops the lowest grade. Not the easiest but ok
She tells you what's going to be on the test in lectures, if you pay attention you'll pass
She is very passionate. She wants students to pass and understand. Ask questions! She likes when students participate. Her lectures are very detailed, she really really prepares you. I took her for Anatomy one, and I am going to take her for anatomy two.
She is an AMAZING PROFESSOR. I took A&P 1 and 2 concurrently fall 2014. I have to say had I not learned my A&P as well as I did with her I would not have passed Pathophysiology with an A. UTEP needs more teachers like her. She cares about students learning. If youre heading into nursing school actually learn! this is the foundation forpatho&medsurg
Dr. Al Dahwi might be the best lecturer I've ever experienced in over 100 credit hours. She is extremely organized and truly cares about her students succeeding. Take some time to understand her accent, sit in the front, and you will learn a ton. Grades are based on exams only, no homework or papers. I feel lucky to have taken her class.
Dr. Al-Dahwi can be a bit intimidating however if you put forth the effort and show her that you are ready to learn she is very helpful. She tries her absolute best to make the material clear to the students. Every lecture in her class was a great one and very informative. Very respectful to her students I would definitely love to see more like her
Dr. Al Dahwi's lectures are engaging, but often are plagued by her excessive ranting about disrespectful students. Dr. Al Dahwi is very passionate about her teachings, and knows the book verbatim. She is a tough grader, and her tests are tricky if you do not pay close attention. She gives gives percentage (%) points in extra credit, so do it ASAP.
SHe is not that hard to understand. Never read the book, just went to class every day. If you use the study guides, they are the questions to the tests/quizzes. Very nice lady. Easy A
In class notes! At the end of her class you won't be able to feel your hand. The lectures are every class except test days, but they tend to be interesting and she keeps you focused. The accent took a few classes to get used to. Exams are easy if you study, hard if you don't - and she tends to do at least one open book exam.
Dr. Al-Dahwi is a very nice professor and she is all about respect. Her tests are not hard if you take good notes and read the book. There are 5 tests and she drops the lowest and one is usually open book. She is super smart and if you go to her class with an open mind, you will do fine. Take her in summer though! It is a lot easier!!
Dr. Al-Dahwi is a great professor. She pretty much knows the book by heart and makes the content easy during the lectures. She speaks fasts so your hand may end up a bit cramped but she also repeats herself so you have time to write. She makes the exams as easy as they can be + gives you an outline for the test that reduces what you have to study
Dr. Al Dahwi really knows her material and knows the book as if she wrote it herself. Her lectures were always amazing although some students might find them long and boring. Her exams are straight forward nothing tricky about them and she gives you an outline 1 week prior to the exam. Easy A class if you study the outline and go over your notes.
She is an amazing Professor. She cares alot about her students, but she expects her students to be completely respectful. READ. If you're a slow learner, read ahead of the lecture so you can ask questions later. She has multiple choice in her exams as well as a portion of true and false. True & false can be tricky so know your stuff.
Dr. Al-Dahwi stands in front of the class and speaks from memory. She doesn't use power points. You just have to start writing and keep up. She does follow the sections of the book in order though. She uses figures and diagrams too. She does give an outline of which book sections to study before each test though. If you study, you will make an A.
really hard tests. gives outlines the class before the exam. 5 exams; she drops the lowest grade. Heavy accent but extremely nice and truly cares about her students. no assignments, no hw. just study and read snd learn your material. first test was an open book, after that, its just your knowledge that will save you. only extra credit is long paper
5 exams &drops one that isn't the final. Her exams are tough but she is caring and makes exams doable as long as you try hard. You do learn but study a week in advance &study only what she goes over in class &skip rest of chapter. This is why it's important to go to class. She does go on rants about students not being respectful. Doable A w effort
Dr. Al-Dahwi is an excellent professor. I highly, highly recommend taking her if you get the chance. You do have 4 exams and a final worth 20% of your grade. She does drop the lowest test grade, with the exception of the final. I enjoyed her class and highly recommend her to anyone.
Very intelligent Prof., her exams are hard so read before going to class and pay close attention to her lectures.
She is a very quirky professor. Honestly, you can skip class if you read and study well on your own, although, if you do so don't expect mercy from her. She hates that people skip class.
Be prepared to read. Her exams are challenging but if you read the sections multiple times you should be fine. I had to study for this class. If you're going to leave class early just don't bother showing up, she gets very upset and it ruins the lecture for the other students. It's obvious she cares about her students so don't take advantage!!!
Dr. Al-Dahwi is a great proffesor, she is very intelligent but her class is really hard. She doesn't use powerpoints, instead she will put a picture on her computer and start talking continously. You'll have to take notes, understand, and listen to what she is saying at the same time. If you can't do this, DON'T TAKE HER!
Hard to understand, does random rants if something upsets her. If you have your book out next to you follow with the lecture. Exams are multiple choice and t/f
I was very disappointed in this class. Dr. Al-Dahwi is hard to understand, doesn't give any sort of study material (no ppts, no handouts, pure lecture), and she goes on extensive (and irrelevant) rants during class. Take time to study/learn on your own because lectures are not much help at all. I wish UTEP offered a more engaging A&P class.
The class is very straight forward. If you take notes, read the book and study exams will be a piece of cake. If you don't do that, exams will be very tough because in anatomy you either know it or you don't. No curve and so it is not an easy A and you will have to earn which ever grade you want.
Al-dawhi cares about her students and wants you to learn. Her grading is solely on exams. As long as you use the review she gives and studies those chapters you should be able to pass. Her tests are easy if you memorize the material as stated in the book. She does drop one test grade. And be sure to take your book for the first exam you can use it.
Dr. Al-Dahwi is a very meticulous person, very polite, and extremely smart. She doesn't use any powerpoints or anything else, her lectures are from everything she knows, which is very thorough. If there are people just talking in the class, she will call them out, so do your best to pay attention. First exam is open book. Read the book for the exam
I think I was one of the few students who enjoyed going to Al-Dahwi's lectures. She teaches only through lecture and with figures, so it is important to take notes and read the chapter. Every chapter I would create my own outline using the notes and book, this is what helped me get an A. Her tests are half multiple choice and half true/false.
Good lectures. Grade based off only exams. Few students manage to find her previous exams & are the only ones who get As. She is NOT understanding. I could not make an exam cause I had to bury my grandma & showed her proof & she did not accept this and accused me of lying. I showed effort to learn & she was still very disrespectful. AVOID HER!
Two classes with this lady was too much. she knew her stuff but exams did require studying (even if you had previous exams) because exams were not identical so about 50% of exam was new so studying was a requirement. With studying from the book (By that I mean reading the sections as much as you can) an A is possible but I didn't enjoy any lecture.
Al-Dahwi is a walking encyclopedia of anatomy knowledge. Her lectures are a supplement to the chapters and her test questions come directly from the book. Most people don't show up to class but I encourage it because she expands on hard concepts. My only issue is that she rants when people get up in the middle of class. You will work for your grade
This class in one word Horrible because she was annoying and exams required a good amount of studying to do will but at least she used phrases straight from the book and didn't change the wording but that, however, did require reading the book. Oh and exam one is an open book so that is an easy 100 and after that its on your own. Good Luck
When it came to testing these exams were the hardest thing ever. She knows the book by heart and she expects you to do it as well. HER LECTURES ARE BORING but if you manage to stay awake you will end up learning something. She is a very strict professor and feels offended when someone tries to leave the classroom. Overall, great teacher. HARD.
No doubt that Dr. Al -dahwi is a knowledge instructor. However , her method of teaching is horrible . Being a current nursing student I felt like I wasnt able to grasp all the A and P being in her class . Which now has let me to struggle in my current classes . So I encourage yall to have a really good understanding of everything !
She's very knowledgeable, knows the book by memory. Unfortunately she expectes you to remeber all the little details, her tests will sometimes contain the same word as an answer choice but with different spelling. Her accent is thick, and the extra credit is ludicrous. You need book for the A. You're graded on 4 exams only, there's one drop.
She is helpful if you don't understand something and is quick at responding to emails. Her lectures can be a bit boring but if you take good notes and read the book you should be fine on the exams. Your grade is based on 5 exams and the lowest is dropped. The exams can be difficult but they're based on the book so reading it helps a lot.
This class isn't hard but you do have to work for your grade. She does not assign homework and her final is not accumulative but the only grades you have is your exams (she gives reviews). You can easily pass this class by not showing up and just reading the book. Does not have power points so you have to take notes on what she's verbally saying.
Your entire grade is based solely on the exams. She drops your lowest. If you attend class youll do great. If you decide not to go, make sure to get the outlines from a classmate before each exam. Dont talk. Be specific when asking questions. If you take advantage of your office hours, make sure its for a legitimate reason.
She knows her anatomy very well. Her lectures are so boring. She will just talk the entire class period. She knows the book by memory. Honestly if you read the book you will be fine. If you skip make sure you get the outline from one of the classmates. She drops your lowest test grade except the final. No homework. Your grade will be based on exams
I am actually very disappointed with this class, I felt like no matter how many times I read the chapter, how many times I studied and did not miss class, the more nervous I get about the upcoming exams, I literally get sick to my stomach. If students somehow manage to stay awake, they could end up learning something.
She is knowledgeable and sometimes strict but it is not as bad as it may seem. You just need to study for the exams and you will be good. Drops the lowest test grade. She's passionate in her teaching and everything is from the book.
Majority of class falls asleep. She refuses to use blackboard to update grades and takes a month to grade exams. Our grade is based on exams, and yet we are unable to know our grade before the drop date. Becomes increasingly angry when students take pictures of the screen. Some students refuse to show to class and she spends the beginning of class
Class has 4/5 exams + the final (final is not dropped) and she drops your lowest exam, you can use your textbook on the first exam. All the exam questions are from the book so make sure you read.
There's 4 exams (drops lowest) + final. 30 multiple choice + 10 T/F. First exam is open book. She lectures the whole time, basically recites the book. Doesn't use PP unless to show figures. Doesn't use Blackboard. You don't get your exam grade back until the next exam. Thinks she's God's Gift to the World. Don't go to class. Read the book.
Dr. Al-Dawi thinks she's on top of the world. Often, I found myself to be back in a high school setting due to her screaming at the class just because people had to leave lecture early, or because someone simply sneezed. Dr. Al-Dawi's lectures are literally her reciting the whole BOOK. if its a pre-req DONT Take her.
this class ruined my 4.0; i am a straight A student this is the only class i have gotten anything lower than that. Her lectures are boring and long. Grade is based on 4 exams; you take 5 but she drops one. They are hard and her lectures make it more hard. Don't rely on past test she changes them for ever single class she has now. DON'T TAKE HER.
Horrible professor. I took this course my last semester as one of my undergrad credits and I wish I hadn't. She stops class at least 6 times a week to lecture students about using an eBook, phones, whispering etc. Furthermore, she's very rude and unprofessional; cried in class, yelled at students, and is extremely closed minded.
Not sure what all the salt is about below. I took her last semester and she called people out for being disruptive. In. Her. Own. Lecture. That being said, yes, you definitely do need to read. You are responsible for your own GPA here since it's purely exams only. Her exam questions are straight-forward if you took good textbook notes. Good luck.
There's lots of overexaggerating in these reviews. She'd pause lecture to tell talking/disruptive students to stop and suggest leaving since attendance is not taken. That's it. She doesn't care if you're on your phone so long as you're silent. Her exams are straightforward and an outline is given one week before the exams. Doesn't use blackboard.
Honestly a lot of the reviews are kind of exaggerated. She wont yell or get mad as long as you dont disrupt the class. I never attended class because the way she taught wasnt for me. Your whole grade is based on 4 exams (lowest is dropped) and a final. As long as you read carefully and take notes you should be able to get an A in the class.
Her lectures are her just reciting the book and it seems like she is talking to a wall. The only thins that are graded are your tests (one is dropped) and a final. Just study and read the book and youll pass. No need to go to lectures unless that is your learning style. Also her Extra credit is insane and not even worth doing.
She doesnt upload grades on Blackboard. Your exams are basically what makes/breaks you. Its the only thing she grades you on, you wont know whether youre passing/failing til the end of the semester. Professor doesnt care about students, very selfish. Hardly makes sense and is very confusing and unclear.
A total capital B had a glitch in the system with one of the exams and she couldn't take it off even when I had all the evidence to proof my innocence. Said if she couldn't take it off for the rest of the students she wouldn't do it for me. The logic. Wouldn't recommend boring as hell and hard to pass if you don't regurgitate the book.
You do have to read and an A is doable if you put in the effort. Exams can be tricky but gives you two attempts per exam and gives you 24 hours to complete it. Her PowerPoint lectures can be lengthy are repetitive the chapter readings which is helpful in memorizing information
Dr. A is a great prof! The class is straight forward and not too difficult if you put in the work.
I had her for anatomy lab, and the TA for this class was amazing. Overall this course is based on activities from the textbook, and some can require extra research and work. The midterm and final for this class cover in-depth topics from the textbook, so make sure to study the textbook and some of the activities that may not be featured in it.
In order to pass her exams, you must watch her lectures. She provided powerpoints with recorded audio and was easily accessible. Respondus lockdown with camera during her exams and she drops the lowest exam grade, excluding the final. Would recommend taking her.
The course is test heavy, but the lectures and provided notes should be enough to help pass the class. Overall, I learned a great deal.
Well, I did not meet Dr. A since this was an online lab. I took this class in the spring since my previous anatomy grade at EPCC was a D, so I had to retake it. The TA was flexible with me since I lost a loved one. Do not make the mistake to fall behind, because it can be an easy A! Stay on track and you should be good.
Class is straight forward. Grade based on 4 tests (1 is dropped), plus final. No extra credit opportunities, but the tests aren't hard as long as you study. She notifies you of any syllabus changes. I must admit her lectures aren't very engaging, but they get the job done. I prefer to just read the textbook as that is what the tests are based on.
Terrible class. Dont bother attending just read the book, lecture is extremely boring anyways. Complains half the time during lecture about people leaving the class early. Shes always Late to class. Exams are very hard. Very narrow minded and not helpful.
I never got to meet the professor since the lab is run by the TA. I did not learn anything in the lab. The quizzes didn't require lockdown and you can find the answers on quizlet. The final also didn't require lockdown. The lab was mostly just a waste of time and had no real value. Just show up, do the activity, do the quizzes and you pass.
This lab was an easy A! taught by a TA, which makes studying and listening to lectures really easy. The quizzes and exams were simple, and only ten questions which are based on common sense over the topic. This class also is beneficial for understanding the actual anatomy 2 class.
Al-Dahwi is a fantastic professor that cares about her students. She makes you work for your grade but also makes it very easy to get an A as long as you attend her lectures and read the chapter. In all of her lectures, she discusses and states what will be on the exam. She is a little hard to understand especially when she is talking fast though.
The book is mandatory, it's easier to just know what pages are needed to be studied & then you can find a way to learn the information. She does have an accent that is a little hard to understand. She will repeat certain information that is what you should learn more about. The slides aren't much help other that the figures.
DONOTTAKETHISPROFESSOR!!! take a better professor, she's not open to talk about grades & just blames it on u. I talked to her in private it about my grade & she basically said I don't take good notes & study which is why I'm failing. Her lectures are heavy on you since she has an accent & makes it harder to understand what she is sayin. AVOIDTAKING
Easy to fall behind if you don't go to class since she doesn't use PPs, but you'll be okay if you read the textbook. Lectures are amazing and detailed. She seems really tough at first, but extremally encouraging and knows anatomy can be a hard subject for some. First exam is open book, you it lets you get a good feel of what to expect.
The lab is run by the TA, so this rating is more for her. The labs were easy, homework was from textbook, and quizzes were easy too. she gave many extra credit opportunities and let us work as a group for assignments. she provided study guides for every exam. basically for the lab, just hope for a good TA
class consists of 4 exams+final and the lowest is dropped. her lectures come straight from the textbook. so if you follow the outline she gives you should be fine and don't have to attend lecture. the first exam is open book and the rest don't require lockdown.
Professor Al-Dahwi was one of the worst professors I have ever had! There are no assignments, and your grade is based on tests, she does drop the lowest grade at the end of the semester but overall a test should never determine your ability to do good in a class. I personally do not RECOMMEND anyone taking this professor.
Easy lab, and you do not have to attend all of them. Homework assignments are extremely long and hard to navigate with the textbook provided. The TA did not give clear instructions for assignments, but other than that, it was an easy class. You will not know your grade until the end of the term.
Lab is more hard than the class. Unfortunately I had gotten a TA who is very blunt/rude when it comes to grading. I needed 1 point for a better grade but the TA was very rude/blunt. When the quiz 2 comes just lie and say you have COVID and she'll replace it with the grade of quiz 1 (easier) which some of my lab mates did and gotten an A in the lab.
Lectures are very thorough and informative. A little bit hard to understand at times due to her accent but not too bad. Grade depends only on tests and the final, but your lowest test grade is dropped. Lectures not mandatory to attend but will help you understand the information better, overall would recommend.
Taught by TA Dayu Shittu. Did not teach, just posted powerpoints. When we would ask him questions he did not know what to tell us, not helpful. Your grade is fairly balanced with assignments and quizzes, but overall would not recommend.
Dr. Al Dawhi is a good professor; she is very well-informed concerning human anatomy/physiology. She is also fair and tries to make the material covered understandable if there is a topic that is a little confusing. There is no homework, grades are based on exams. Just understand the material covered in the book/ lecture.
Read carefully and thoroughly. Grades are based only on exams. Lectures are important for nursing but not for the exams. She'll lecture for an hour on one topic for there to only be one question about it on the exam. Follow the book instead. Toward the end she kindly helped us with extra credit. Do not slack off or procrastinate.
Al-Dahwi was an amazing professor that was very knowledgable about the world of anatomy. You are only graded by 3 exams (one of which is dropped) and a final. Thankfully, exams are not cumulative, but they require dreadful memorisation. I recommend recording her lectures and memorising everything she says, since she likes to skip pages in book.
you're only graded on 3 exams & a final. she's very knowledgable on a&p1&2 however her lectures can get a little hard to focus in, she just stands in one spot and recites the book word for word with a heavy accent and smokers voice. just focus on reading the book word for word for the tests & ull be fine.
It really depends on who your TA is, but overall the lab is very easy and clear to understand. The midterm was the toughest exam from all of them. The review sheets are pretty extensive and take up to 2 hours. Lectures are good with basic but thorough information.
Dr. Al-Dahwi wasn't that bad, if you need more explanations or help she will. The lectures can be boring because she literally reads of the book word by word, but she would explain everything clearer. It consists of 5 exams, and she drops the lowest. 3 of the exams are take home and the other 2 are in class so it's not too bad.
The lab depends on who your TA is, mine was Kylie Rezendes. She was super nice and flexible, the homework and assignments were straight to the point. The exams and quizzes weren't too bad either, just study from the lecture and homework and you'll be fine.
The book is a little tough for this course but the teacher makes it as easy as possible. She's a great teacher but the book isn't the best.
My TA was Anthony, he was amazing! Very understanding and lenient. He let us choose if we presented or did a 50 question midterm/final. We were able to choose the topic for the Final. There isn't much work but the in person assignments are fun! Most of them are games.
Had Calum as TA over summer course, he was really funny with his dry humor. Easy class, grading is a bit tough on quizzes but nothing hard with studying.
The labs are fun and easy with a lenient TA. The midterm is tough, but the review sheets are helpful. Lectures cover the basics well. Homework can be tricky without clear instructions, but using Unstuck study alongside the textbook can really save time.
Anat 1 lab required too much time, money, and mental capacity for a 1 credit class. My TA Vanessa Navarro seemed often bothered when anyone asked for help claiming we didn't read instructions even if we did. Would read ppts in less than 10 mins and butcher a lot of vocabulary which is essential for anatomy. Just teach yourself instead.
Dr. Al Dahwi is honestly a great professor. Her exams are open book and she drops one exam grade. She does have pop quizzes as an incentive to study and show up to class. You can tell she cares.
This class isn't hard, but it isn't super easy either. You do have to take really good notes and read the book to understand all the topics. The book is super expensive, so try renting or finding a free online version. There is no HW, only quizzes and exams. Dr. Al-Dahwi is very understanding and tries to make the class as easy as she can.
This class was just average honestly. The instructor does drop one exam, but the lectures were long and boring. It's difficult to take notes when she talks too fast because there are no notes on PowerPoint slides to copy down.
The class was boring, but very easy to pass. Her exams were open book, so just copy the question in AI and done. She drops your lowest exam grade
Dr. Al-Dahwi genuinely cares about her students and wants to give you the best grade possible. I enjoyed her lectures and learned a lot. I found it easier to follow the lecture alongside the book to fully grasp what she was saying, but if you have the right mindset and patience, you will learn so much and get an A in the class.
An amazing & kind professor, a true professional in her field. She cares deeply about each and every student. everything in the test and quizzes are material she goes over in lecture and in the textbook. Does not trick students on quizzes and is straight up in her material. Downside: this class is full of rude undergraduates so sit in the front.
Fairly easy, just show up and do what you need to do!
Worst professor ever. She was rude to everyone and lectures were mostly one slide long with her talking in her heavy accent for every second of the 80 minute lecture. The class was very easy to pass however.
