He is the best. He knows how to teach, and if u r not good at math he will try his best to make u understand. i didn't think math was this easy since took his classes.

he's the best math professor i had at macomb, and have had since i transferred to university. i recommend him to everyone who has to take math, especially calc 2! without his help or the help of the tutors (whom all had him as well ~_^), i would've failed

I took Elementary Algebra with MR Mussallam last year. I am now in his Calculus II class. This teacher is so good that I can't imagine being in a math class without him.

why are ALL math majors and teachers one trick ponies? I wish he could talk in more than just math terms. Math majors and teachers, math humor is not funny! Do the homework and get an A. I could have a better conversion with a calculator.

I'm an English major and took his classes just to observe his talent for teaching. What a gifted man! I would recommend him to anyone, especially people who are not already good at math. If you pay attention,you will learn the stuff and feel more confidence in your abilities as well.

I was a sped and I had his class and I thought he was a good teacher, so just cause I am a sped, im gonna be a janitor??? I think not, everyone is intitled to their own opinions. To me, he was a great teacher that knows his stuff. I would recommend him to friends.

This teacher is great. He knows math better than any other professor in this campus. I have him for calc 2 and I did learn more in this class then than I did in previous math classes. Test are hard (10 pages, 2-4 hours). If you plan on learning and going into engineering, you must go with Musallam.

I did not like his style when class started, but after he gets you to think about math in a different way...you'll really understand it. He is a really great teacher and I would definitely take him again.

Musallam is Amazing at his job. His first test was just basic mult tables and it was amazing how may people failed the test. He makes you learn the basics which will help you more then an easy teacher ever will. He is a hard teacher, but when i went to U of M after his class, I rocked all the other math classes and still used his notes for Ref.

He's a good teacher, he actually makes you think and try to do well in his class. If you don't want a challenge, this class isn't right for you. But everyone has their own opnion. Just make sure you study, or he'll catch you.

Great teacher. He truely teaches the subject. He uses correct terminology and gave you several "game plans" to achieve the correct solutions. I've since transferred to Oakland and still use his material as reference. Do the homework and be prepared. Don't be afraid to ask questions - he does his best to make sure you understand.

Mr. USA is a great math teacher and very funny. I've enjoyed being in his class, even if I only pass with a "C". You need to do as he says and HOW he says to do it. Ask questions, do your homework, attend tutors at the learning center and you'll pass his class. I recommend you have him in MTH 0070 before attempting to pass this class with an "A+"!

Mr. Musallam is the best math teacher I have ever had and he is a funny guy. If you ask anybody, he will tell you the same but that he expects 100% effort. You will learn and understand math concepts and have alot of AHA moments. Do your homework, dont miss any classes, go to tutoring and you will do great.

This professor is God's gift to calculus. I took calc 1 with another professor and barely passed because I had no clue what I was doing. But then I took Mussallam for calc 2 and everything started to make sense. He is brillant at teaching and really wants his students to learn. Best teacher ever!!

Terrific teacher! He definately expects more out of you than other teachers- but it just means that he believes you can do great in math. I love this teacher, and wish everyone could meet him just once. He will make a great impact on your life, as he has mine. I still have a lot to learn in math, but with a teacher like Mr USA, it will be fun.

I took this class with other teachers before, failed it twice.. But the firs thing Musallam has you do is literally throw away any bad math experiences you had before. I have a 92% in the class right now, which i dont think i wouldve been able to do w/ out him as my teacher. He makes you learn the stuff though, so if you work hard itll pay out. :o)

Musallam is a great Professor. I have never seen a professor as qualified as him. I got out of my way and go to south campus just because he teaches there. Watch what you say, he might take the derivative of your grade. Remeber to fear Big Bertha

I just want to say, if you want to learn good math take this class, you will succeed.

If you take Musallam for ANY of his classes, be prepared to work for your grade. You will stuggle, his test are very difficult, but he is an amazing teacher. You will know math better than anyone who came from having other teachers. If you're even remotely serious about math, he will make you the best at it, even if it is through loads of homework.

Great Teacher, explains things clearly, uses many examples, if u dont pass his mult-test in a min i believe or less with one wrong u cant use a calculator for the course, helps u when u need it, his tests can be hard but if u do the HW u will do just fine. I give this teacher and A

Basically he keeps you on your toes. If he sees that you're putting an effort, he'll help you. The key is go over the material. Can scare you, but don't let that bother you. Once you can get over that, things go a lot better. You will learn with him.

best teacher for math

I've had him for 1450, 1760, 1770, 2760. by far the best teaching. Encourages study groups, is at the learning center at least 3-4 times a day. He's tough but if you go to study group and do the homework you'll succeed. If you want to be handed a grade w/o working then take someone else.

Teaching style is great. His comments are very colorful and if your class gets ahead in material on the last class he lets you impersonate him. Makes for a big laugh. Always there to help and encourages study groups.. Go to these and do the hwk and you'll do well. I've had him for pre-calc, calc, calc2, calc3.

I had Mr. Musallam for a few math classes. No matter what students say about him, he is by far one of the best professors i've had in my education life. This man raises the standarts of macomb com. college. The entire school should be proud of him. He is passionate, dedicated to his students...and extremelly helpful. Keep it up Mr USA. THANK YOU!!!

Mr. U.S.A aka Mr. Musallam is one of the best professors there is. If your looking for a math professor I would strongly suggest Mr. Musallam. I had him for Math 1000,1450 and now 1760 and I’m thinking about taking 1770 even tough I don’t need 1770. Musallam is a great math teacher. He explains concepts clearly. His tests are VERY hard but also curved. He keeps class interesting with his enthusiasm. Rips on you for not knowing the answers to questions, but quickly shows what you did wrong after. He wants his students to do well so he is always willing to help outside of class. Great guy.

This teacher will go out of the way to help anyone who is in need as long as you are helping yourself, but you do a lot of work, also doing your homework and attending study groups improves your grade

I am someone who has always HATED math, but i realized it was because i never had a professor like this one. He makes it fun and he is always so energetic (even at 8am)! Doing the homework, showing up to class, taking notes, and studying are a MUST for a good grade. Trust me u wont find another prof like him.

Mr. Musallam is the hardest, demanding and yet most charismatic, interactive and caring professor I´ve had in my math career. His tests are legendary (expect to spend 3 hrs on average), he picks on you in class if you don´t study or do your homework, but he ensures that you know your stuff well. Either way: don´t expect an easy A, and brace up !

Class sessions were fun. Time would fly by. He covers the material well and is always asking students questions. Tests are difficult but almost everything on the test is either covered in class or he tells you to read up on. Examples he works in class are useful, he tells you which ones will be on the tests.It will not be an easy A, just work hard.

Warning: His summer Calc class is called calc boot camp for a reason, if you arent a math related major find another teacher. By far the toughest teacher i ever had in life. you will have days of 4hrs of homework. homework is mandatory. dont tell him you hatesomething.you'll pass. GREAT TEACHER! He is kind of hard, but if you have any problems, he is glad to help and assist you. I was failing the class beginning of the semester and with his help I got it up to a B+. He lets you do study group, gives out test review before the test, which are practically the same questions.

I love Musalam. First couple weeks i didnt like him but near the end you will learn to love him. He gives you a study guide which is almost identical to the test. Just study what he tells you and put in effort and i guarantee an A. He prepares you for all his tests/final. He does pick on students allot during lecture but it helps you pay attention.

Just an amazing teacher, I thought math was going to be my weakness in college, but now its my favorite class. This guy is like a coach or a mentor where he pushes you to beyond what you expected out of yourself.

He is amazing, and hilarious but also very serious, believe everything he tells you, no matter how stupid it sounds. He will not let you forget what you learned from the beginning of the semster to the end. Writes his own tests so no multiple choice. Overall, he's hard but it's worth it. This man loved teaching math. He was usually pretty clear with his teaching, and made sure you understood it by embarrassing you in front of the entire class. He often referred to his students as retards, or idiots, which i found very unacceptable. Study the review & do the homework and the class is not very hard to pass.

This class is for people going into education. He adds way more than what is required to teach. Tough instructor, but makes you learn the material. If you don't learn you will not like/do well in any of his classes. Tests r long, but unlimited time to take them. You do learn a lot in his classes.

Mr. Musallam is the man. If you want to really get a good understanding of math take his class. It's not easy, but if you put in the time and work he takes notice. He takes to pressure off of exams by giving them in the testing center. You get to pick the day and time, and you can take as long as you want.

He breaks down what you are learning so it's very easy to understand. He tells you how he does things straight forward. I dislike him because he is rude and makes it really hard to attend the class. He doesn't care about his students feelings. I do not like him, but as a teacher he's great.

It's the truth that he is the best teacher at MCC. He explains the topics really well.If you like to do your own thing feel free to drop his class beause your life will be miserable.Don't overload with hard classes when you take his class because you have to spend a lot of time and effort in his class.

Join a study group that really helps,I regret not joining one because I overloaded myself with all these hard classes, did not even have time to sleep OR eat peacefully.I did not even have time to go over the notes.But, I understood the way he explained and managed to get an A at the end of the semester.

Professor Musallam is an unforgettable professor who never forgets his students. Math is his passion and he makes it fun. That said, Professor Musallam has the most difficult tests on the face of the earth. They are torturous. Some students take 6 hours to finish them, just to go home and cry about it. Somehow, everyone manages to love Mr. USA.

Mr. Musallam is such an incredible professor. I only took him at the 1000 level, but I highly recommend him to anyone taking a math class. I had to suffer through horrible teaching of the accelerated math curriculum in high school that made me feel mathematically inept. Mr. Musallam completely changed that. He asks a lot of his students and readily calls them out if they're falling behind, but if you dedicate yourself to his class he will make you a confident mathematician.

Mr. Musallam is so passionate about the material that he teaches. He is constantly walking around the classroom asking students questions. He especially likes to challenge his students to answer problems until they get the answer right/know the material. I highly recommend anyone to take his course if he is a choice for a professor.

Mr. USA is absolutely crazy. But he knows his stuff and if he sees that you are making an honest effort to succeed in his class, his door is always open to help you. AVOID his class if you are lazy because you will fail, and he will not care.

Mr. Musallam is a wonderful teach with a lot of passion for what he does. Sometimes he can be overly brash, and offend students, but I love him. He has taken a subject I abhore, and made it learnable.

Incredibly hard professor. You can expect to study 30hour/week for this class. However, you will learn the material better than anyone taking a different class. Math or engineering majors should take him, others should avoid. If you work hard you will get a good grade even if your exam grades were not great... Just make sure you go to study group

Mr. Musallam is a very good teacher. He explains math concepts better than any other math teacher I have had. But he is very rude sometimes and if you are struggling in the class he will make sure to embarrass you for it. I still recommend him as a professor because he makes sure his students learn the material. Overall good professor.

Professor Musallam was amazing. Yes he will pick on you a lot but that is his way of teaching so you can actually learn the material. Do not ever take it personally! I would definitely recommend him to anyone :)

Great professor. Had absolutely no interest in mathematics until taking algebra with Musallam. Attendance is not mandatory if you don't want to succeed. Taking my third class with Musallam soon. Simply put. If you want to do well. You will.

I am taking Calc 1, I absolutely love him because he prepares his students for the future. If you are a student who never does homework or think you're going to sit in the back because you don't want to participate you shouldn't take him. He is incredibly motivating and yes, he's the best math teacher at Macomb. Highly respectable. Just work hard.

This man was great. Math is by no means an easy subject for me, and I had to take this class in 4 weeks only…this class was not easy at all. I busted my butt, but it was worth it. He made everything crystal clear and was just a pleasure to be around. We need more like him!! Hope to have him again :)

To be honest, I'm not sure he is for everyone. Personally, I learned a lot in his class, but he kicked my butt. Going into Calc 3, Diff Eq., etc., I needed it. His lectures were also very entertaining. Overall, Musallam left a lasting impression on me as a mathematician and as an educator. I was sad that I couldn't take more classes with him.

Fall 2013 the first 9 weeks of class was review of Calc 1 and Trig, didnt even touch on any new concepts until the 10th week of class . His tests would take about 5 hours a piece to finish and could contain anything from trig questions to calc 1 questions that you probably have forgotten by now. NO FORGETIING ANY OLD CONCEPTS Really hard class, I would spend hours each day in the library with fellow students trying to learn Calc 2 by doing the weekly homework assignments. It was a real fun class though and i would look forward to going to it every week because Mr. Mussallam is a really great teacher and actually cared about us as students.

Excellent professor. I am terrible with math. I have never been able to find a professor who makes it understandable. He was amazing. I learned a lot more than I thought I would. Tests were fairly difficult. Attendance is an absolute must. Lots of homework. But he always said if you come to class and do your homework you will pass the class.

Professor Musallam is the best math teach I've had. I took him for calc 1, 2 & 3. If he taught linear algebra, I'd take him for it. He grades hard, but he's fair. He'll make sure you know the material enough to move onto the next course and if you're looking for a blow off teacher, DO NOT take him. He'll embarrass you if you don't know the material

Absolute best professor at Macomb community that I found in my two years. If you actually want to learn the material and you are willing to work for it ... take one of his math courses. It will be one of the best experiences ever.

What can I say about Mr Musallam? He's difficult, loud, insensitive... But without a doubt one of the best professors I've ever had. I walked into his precalc class dreading the idea of an Entire Semester of Math and walked out of it looking forward to a lifetime of it. Keep your head up, study, earn his respect quickly and you'll have a blast.

Mr. Musallam is one of the best teachers you will ever have; he is passionate about what he does, and will make you passionate about what you are learning. Once you enter his class get ready for full two hours of intense learning and teaching. He explains everything clearly and makes sure everyone gets the info.

I went into this class hating math and I was terrible at it (let's be honest I was a bum, lazy). Zak is the hardest math teacher I have had in my life. He is tough and you will have to work your butt off but I left this class confident I could handle anything. He is a great teacher and person and cares about your success. He takes it personally!

Professor Musallam is a "tough" teacher. He wants you to understand the material and excel if you take classes beyond his teachings. If your studying for a field with heavy mathematics, I encourage you to take classes with him. I respect him highly and he's the only math teacher that I can connect with. Lots of homework and study groups are mandatory if you have a plan to do very well in the class.

Musallam is an awesome teacher, but only if you are not a lazy student. He is a tough grader and test maker, but he drills the information into you, good luck forgetting anything he teaches you. If you just want to skate through a class and forget about it after the final, don't take him, if you want to actually understand/remember math, take him

He is a really great teacher, but don't think he is easy. When I first went to class I didn't know anything at all, and now I have gained so much knowledge. This guy doesn't go by the book, he uses his own methods such as "The Game Plan" and "TALOEM" it sounds funny but it actually works.

I went into Mr Musallams class as a weak math student but one who is willing to work as hard as I can to accomplish my goals, he takes notice of things like this you'll need to work very hard to pass his class. if he calls on you and you dont know the answer he will make fun of you but dont take it to heart hes just joking and wants you to succeed

The most challenging professor i have ever had. He cares about every single student's education, he picks on you if you don't participate. but at the end of the semester you will do really well on the final because you have seen worst.

Musallam is a very tough teacher, he will make you work hard for your grade. He also encourages you to attend study groups which is the reason I passed his class. I spent maybe 10 hours a week studying for this class. His grading can be a bit rough, but if you understand the problems you should be fine. I failed the first test but ended with a B.

Professor Musallam is great. He really cares about his students to learn. If he sees that you are not learning he will put you on the spot and make fun of you. He does this so you can learn from your mistake. If you improve yourself, he gives you compliments. He is very tough, because he want you to learn.

Mr. Musallam is an amazing teacher, likely better than many teacher at Ivy league colleges. He understands the material miraculously and somehow makes you enjoy learning it. I will say the class is extremely difficult. If Math is not something you wish to develop, you will be miserable. On a scale of difficulty 1-5: he's a 50--hardest tests ever.

Mr. Musallam is one tough cookie. But, he is the hands-down best math teacher I have ever had. He will put you on the spot and make sure that you know the material, and everyone in the class does better for it. As long as you put forth the effort, you will do great in his class.

Best math teacher. Took him for both calc 1 and 2. If u bad in math and u take him, end of semester u will end up better then ur buddies who are math genius. Test are hard but he prepares u for it.

He's difficult but rewarding. I was scared to take him, because of online reviews. I'm someone who would still use my fingers to count, and definitely someone who he's poked fun at. However, I wouldn't trade my experience in this class for anything else. If you're going into engineering I recommend you take his class, as he will teach fundamentals.

Test are tough but then again its almost like practice test he gives with different numbers. you dont have to worry about being focus in class. he will make sure you are. you will learn math guaranteed.

Mr. Musallam is by far one of the best Math teachers I have ever taken. He is very funny and wants you to succeed. If you are a serious college student, take him. If you are not a serious student you will not succeed. The practice tests are just like the actual tests. Very rewarding teacher if you are a serious student!

Great professor and the class is never boring, but he is very tough. What ever you put in is pretty much what you get out of it. Is grading is pretty weird but other than that is a great tough professor.

Not the most sane person you'll find at Macomb, but definitely one of the smartest. This is the first math class I've ever taken where I understood what was going on and remembered things clearly. He will call you out if you get the answer wrong in class, but it's only because he wants you to learn and is super passionate about what he teaches.

Mr. Musallam is one of the few great professors there are. His tests are really hard but he prepares you for them as long as you come to every class and pay attention. One of the best professors I have had so far. He makes you work hard for your grades. His tests are from out of this world but luckily he gives you a practice test and most of the questions are similar to the practice test. P.S: If you just want the grade and pass the class, this class is not for you!!

For all you who say he makes fun of me or he yells at me TOUGHEN UP! Mr Musallam is not only the greatest professors of all time but he is also one of the greatest men I have met in my life. He is a good hearted caring individual. I dont know what macomb pays him.... but I know for a fact its not enough. He is THE BEST! He wants you to succeed.

Mr. Musallam is an amazing teacher. He's really tough though so you gotta work for this class. He's really passionate about teaching this and he can make you love math if you put in the effort. He only calls you out and calls you name if you make silly and stupid mistakes so just be cautious of that. Best math teacher ever!

Passionate and caring professor, he makes math entertaining. His tests are hard because he pushes your math skills,. He also excepts homework if its a day or two late. Coming out of his class you'll be a math wiz. Best quality about him is he reviews and teaches the material thoroughly so students know . Also get ready to sing Christmas Carols.

Amazing professor, really good at explaining although his tests are crazy, he pushes you to succeed. Really caring guy wanting to see his students succeed, he also has a nice sense of humor. And I like that he is not politically correct, so all the people getting offended don't cry if your triggered.

Mr. Musallam is an incredible math teacher. He really hammers in that you know the language to discuss math, speaking of that (no pun), if you don't like being put on the spot, this is probably not the class for you. He is good at connecting math to the real world.

Kinda petty and not very nice but really smart guy. If you are naturally good at math don't take him. He'll expect you to do an absurd amount of homework even if you already understand. If you are not good at math he's a good choice. Pretty decent teacher and will pass you as long as he sees good effort.

Great teacher overall. I love how he puts people on the spot really shoves math down your throat I enjoyed his lectures. He really just wants everyone to learn he does come off harsh and yells at you for not knowing but its a learning process if I needed more math I would def take all my classes with him

Mr Musallam was my favorite teacher in all of my college career. He is direct and clear on the lesson and then asks the students to repeat what he taught for long term memory. He is clear on homework and assigns problems related to the lesson. He has empathy and always available for his students. He is an open book and a natural in the class.

Professor Musallam is by far the best professor that MCC has to offer. I myself am not the best learner especially in math but he made the material very enjoyable. Calc 2 is a difficult class and he makes you work for your grade but he really does prepare you for the tests. Best professor I have ever had by far.

Best calc teacher someone could have

Great teacher, can be tough on students but is fair. Unfortunately, he is retiring.

I barely was able to get into his class because i missed the registration mark, but advocated to let me in, which significantly helped me. His tests were insanely hard and was a very demanding teacher. I really enjoyed how he made the content of the class easier to learn and made going to class enjoyable and fun.

The best professor in the college, I took calculus one with him and I really learned a lot, especially, new things about trigonometry that other professors did not teach in the past, I wish if I had taken him from the beginning of the math journey.

I had this class several years ago and feel that he was the best professor I have ever had! He made you learn how to speak the language of math, so that you could properly communicate it, as well as understand it. I felt that he cared not only that we did our best in his class, but that we walked away actually understanding what we learned!

I am horrible at math, all math! I really had to work hard in this class, but he really helped me understand better than any other math teacher, EVER!

He is a great professor , he is accomadating , very helpful and will go out of his way to help you. Dont be late to his class , and know times tables to use calculator and make sure yiu know how to spell his entire name. Always willing to help and give extra creit if needed .
