had her for health psychology, she does focus question quizzes every class, she gives you the question before class coming up; all of her tests and quizzes are multiple choice, true/false, short answer, and essay questions. you will have to read the book, her material comes from both the book, powerpoints, and guest speakers
Great teacher, very helpful with explainations. Gave focus quiz questions before class so no excuse why everyone cant make an easy A-B for class. Lowest quiz grad dropped.
I love her!! She was a wonderful teacher and put our priorities first (she is getting her PhD and is extrememly busy). I highly reccomend her.
She is a very nice individual. She will work with you if you need it. She does have a Russian accent, but you can totally understand her. She is very against cell phone use and will stop teaching if she sees one out. Everything is lecture based. She has quizzes (Focus Questions) every class, but they're not difficult. She's very sweet. (:
Such an awesome professor! Gives you everything you need so textbook isn't really necessary. Gave plenty of extra credit especially if the attendance is low. Super nice, super helpful, would take her again in a heartbeat.
I LOVE this professor. She really tries to make a 3 hour evening class fun. Her focus quizes are pretty easy and you can drop lowest grades and exams are easy too. Most importantly, she will go out of her way to help you anyway she can and will provide guidance. Hands down best professor at UNCC
Dr. David is the best professor at UNCC by far. She has such a passion to help you learn and she is a phenomenal lady. Her tests are exactly what she teaches, she gives study guides and doesn't try to trick you. If you apply yourself and know the material, an A is inevitable! She is a great mentor to talk to about future plans for school as well!
One of the best professors I've had by far. Tests are extremely straight forward and she's very reasonable. I defiantly recommend her!
Best professor I've had at UNCC! I would recommend her to everyone. She has an accent so sometimes its hard to understand but she makes lectures really fun and interesting. She helps a lot with questions and gives great tips on memorizing the material. She gives study guides and tests are straight forward. It won't be an easy A but you will learn.
Dr. David is the most amazing professor at UNCC. I promise our school is so fortunate to have a professor like her. She radiates positivity & happiness. She genuinely cares about her students unlike many other professors. She wants to help you succeed. Her accent is adorable & so is she! Study her class notes & you will be FINE for the exams:)
Dr. David is an amazing instructor! She is more than willing to help you in any way possible. There are quizzes in class, you get study guides for them. Study guides for exams and powerpoints are also given. Thee material isn't super interesting, but she is so excited to teach it! Exams aren't hard as long as you study.
Dr. David is my favorite professor. She cares about her students as long as you are there. She doesn't know names, but she knows faces. She is passionate about the subject and once she gets started, it is hard for her to stop. She gives you everything you need to get an A in the class. She does have a Russian accent, but it is easy to understand.
This was a hybrid class and it was terrible. First off, she has a thick accent and its hard to understand. SHE IS CHILDISH. especially when it comes to cellphone and computers, she HATES them and will stop class and speak in Russian until it is put away. The work online is simple, just keep up. Clicker questions every single class.
Research Methods is supposed to be one of the hardest classes a Psych Major will take. But with Dr. David, I had no problem understanding the assignments and her expectations were clear. She is very picky about APA, but that is helpful in the long-run. She made this class easy compared to the rest in the department. Definitely take her!
This class is a hard class and she made it to where it was enjoyable
I've had two classes with her and enjoyed them both. The material is heavy and you need to do your part but she makes sure that she clarifies and repeats pertinent information. I found tests to be exactly what I was expecting but going over lecture materials was a must. She was a fun little lady & I liked that we did yoga before the test!
Dr. David is a very knowledgeable professor who is very passionate about psychology, cognition, and bilingualism. I feel I learned a lot in this course, but be aware that absolutely NO technology use is permitted, lectures are almost guaranteed to take the whole class time, and attendance questions will appear on the exams.
50% online class is great if you keep up with the online work. It's not hard at all. Just remember to do do it. Opportunities for plenty of extra credit. Clicker questions every lecture, but 2 lowest are dropped. Point system makes it pretty clear to know where you stand all semester. Probably (hopefully) will be receiving an A.
You have to read and take a test on the material on your own before you hear a lecture about it, so that's a little weird.
Very hard to understand with accent. Over all nice woman but DO NOT HAVE YOUR PHONE OUT! Quizzes in class are tough and count towards your grade.. lots of online homework but very easy class over all if you do the work. The final was a breeze
The course itself is very confusing, but she didn't help matters by confusing the class with assignments and the expectations of them. Tough grader.
Took the hybrid course. Simple but study for the unit exams. Media assignments and chapter exams are pretty simple. She responds to emails quickly. Pretty friendly.
Kinda hard to understand but super nice lady. Pretty tough course but its required. As long as you study, show up to class, and do your work, you'll be good. Attendance is absolutely mandatory - won't pass if you skip. Sometimes seems like a lot of work but its not terrible.
Super easy class. Show up and take notes and do the weekly assignments. Exams are all online except for the final which was super easy. It is hard to understand her sometimes. Make sure you read the syllabus before emailing her or she won't respond if it is in the syllabus. Lots of guest lecturers
This class was so easy. Half online, only met once a week. You have to go to class because she takes attendance with clicker questions and attendance is like 10 percent of your grade. Everything that matters is online, quizzes, weekly chapter tests and 3 main tests. The final is in class on paper but it was so easy.
Dr. David was a good professor for the most part. While she was rarely present in psychology as we had several guest professors, she was kind and helpful to the biggest extent she could be. Easy class to pass, but make sure to attend all the lectures to complete clicker quizzes. Fast pace class, but not too fast that a student is unable to keep up.
She takes daily attendance through the use of clicker questions. Pay attention to the lectures as well as examples used throughout the chapter readings as they will be useful for the exams. She does not offer extra credit. Your grade is determined by overall points earned.
Professor David was a good professor. She has a strict no electronics policy during the lectures however which was a little annoying. All of the work for the class was online, including all tests except the final exam. I did not read the chapters and I still got a fairly good grade in the class.
Psychology is an easy class but take it with someone else.
She is a teacher with an attitude.
I think this was her first time teaching RM2 online and it showed. She was a sweet lady and did what she could to help. It was disorganized from the beginning though. She made RM2 approachable and easy. Just wish the instruction and expectation had been clear from the beginning. Then I would highly recommend.
Avoid if you can. English is Dr. David's 2nd language - which is blatantly obvious in her exams. They are next to impossible to understand (due to incorrect language use) and they're timed. Very frustrating experience. Super nice lady but as a professor, leaves much to be desired.
Dr, David is a hard professor took her class online PSY 3116 and I have to say she is a tough grader you can really tell English is her second language is shows in her test. some question are hard to understand or use of improper english.
Grading criteria is extremely unfair- there are 3 exams and 1 final. And workbook assignments due every week. I got a 96 and above on every single exam, but because I got an 80 on the workbook, it dropped my final grade from an A to a B. Which makes no sense to me. I don't recommend taking Dr. David.
There are 5 things that you are graded on, 4 exams and one workbook grade. The exams are so hard, especially with english not being her first language. Even if it was, they would be hard and there are a LOT of questions. I ended up with a B in the class and I had to work really hard on some of those exams. She is easy to reach via email, though.
Very difficult class only have 5 grades and 4 are exams, there are 90 questions and you only have 60 mins. The workbooks are easy. It sucks this is a required class and shes the only one teaching the online version. I had her for psych 1101 and it was a pain I figured since this class was online it would be better. Nope, good luck as she says
Professor David is a good teacher 4 exams and workbook assignment.
You can clearly tell that Dr. Davids first language is not English. She learned English at the age of 25. The wording on her tests were difficult, but I earned a pretty decent score (B+). She took a while to reply to e-mails given that she is in another country, but it was quite disappointing. You have to WORK for your grade in this class.
This is the worst class/professor I've had at UNCC. The test time limits are ridiculously short, I barely had enough time to READ the question/answers, let alone process it and try to answer accurately. Without ANY hw, not only did I feel less prepared for tests, but tests were my ONLY grade. I WAS an A-B student until I took this course.
Her classes were the biggest mistakes Ive made at college. I took her intro to psychology class which was in person, she graded few items which if you missed clicker questions which count as attendance it will hurt your grade. I thought taking human cognitive processes online would be better. You had few grades, tests were 90 questions w/ 60 mins.
Power points are posted pretty late and test are super hard especially if you aren't interested in Health related material, like the body systems. Don't take this class if you aren't interested in that. It is not an easy A! Limited material and homework.
Power points are posted really late and test are super hard and not on power point material. She unlockes the quizzes at 6am on Friday and gives you till 11pm that same night to take it. Only grades are test and FQ Quizes if you plan on getting a A, take a different teacher
Her grading is very hard and her exams I felt like they were really trying to trick you the answers were similar and sometimes hard to read, for an online class I had no idea I had to purchase the webcam respondus lockdown for each exam you cannot move, look anywhere else or else she will not count your exam!! Don't take this class with her.
Horrible horrible horrible! I took her online section and she required you to meet with a CCA but didnt have enough appt times, half your grade was one assignment & she never replied to my emails. The worst professor I have ever had.
I took her online course. Her feedback is not helpful. She will highlight or put red marks all over your assignments but will not give specific constructive criticism to help you improve. She will find any reason to take points off. I am a straight A student but for some reason I got Bs or lower in all her assignments.
Worst teacher I've ever had. Don't even bother
Dr. David is one of the best professors Ive ever had. I got to take her F2F class (she usually teaches online) and she was absolutely incredible. She really connected with her students and I will really miss being in her class. Put forth the effort and get to know her- shes amazing.
I needed this class for my Psych degree and I WISH I had waited to take it from someone else--ANYONE else. This one just crushes you with quizzes and tests. He has 4 exams in a short summer course and every exam is 100, very detailed questions about ANYTHING in the chapters or he posted. Too difficult for a class like this--so unnecessary.
Potentially the worst online class I have ever taken. Exams are 100 questions with an hour and twenty five minutes to complete them. The questions are almost designed for you to fail, with multiple, only slightly different, answer choices. Tests on anything & everything you have access to & doesnt narrow it down at all. Dont take if you want an A.
This was the worst class I have ever taken. I studied the information and tried everything to do well on the tests; however, it is literally impossible to do well on these tests. They are so many questions and VERY detailed and you only have approximately 50 seconds to answer each question. I've never made a C in my entire life, until this class!!!
I WISH I would have read her reviews before taking her class. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do NOT take this class. It was the hardest thing of my life, she was no help, questions on exams are impossible. Just please do yourself a favor and save your GPA and not take this class ESPECIALLY with her!
This class consist of 4 exams and multiple quizzes all designed for students not to have a time to finish them. This class seemed like it was designed for you to fail. You teach yourself and then are left to take hard test that you don't even have time to think about what the correct answer is. Don't recommend.
Terrible. I took her online and she gives 100 question test in a 45 min timeframe. She does not do lecture videos or anything she just post modules and the rest is for you to figure out. Dont take her.
This class wouldnt be so bad if she would actually post lectures. All the materials you get are just PowerPoint and very vague/incomplete notes.
No lecture videos for the online class. All exams are about 100 questions. Required A LOT of self teaching.
Dr. David is a very caring professor. She deeply cares about her field of psychology and her students. This is a very intense class due to the fact that it is squeezed into a 5 week session, but Dr. David gives you the tools that you need to be successful. If you put in the work, you will learn a lot and your grade will reflect it.
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! She is setting you up to fail. Vague power points and notes where you basically have to teach yourself. Multiple quizzes and four tests that are worth 100 points each. There is no room to mess up at all. She expects you to take 30-60 seconds to answer questions and is horrible with trying to help you.
Do not take this professor is you can help it. Her tests are unbelievably difficult and she only gives you 80 minutes for 100-105 questions. She makes the tests harder than the information presented on PowerPoints. DO NOT TAKE!!
This class was very difficult. She doesnt do lectures you just read the PowerPoint notes , take quizzes every week, and exams. Her exams are long she gives about 100-86 questions on each exam. The class average on exams are usually in the 60s. I would not recommend taking this class unless it is with a different professor.
Her tests are terrible, 100 questions. I made the mistake of taking her before reading the reviews. please dont take her if you want a good grade. its overwhelming. take her only if this is YOUR ONLY class in a semester
She is very professional and takes the class seriously. She expects her students to be responsible adults which is refreshing, considering a lot of profs treat us like kids. You HAVE to read the power points closely and fill out the weekly FQ guides if you wanna pass. Pay attn to the things she underlines. Not hard at all if you work for it.
She set this class up to make us fail! 100 questions in 60-80 min. I told her it was impossible to complete the test in such little time, she said try harder. UNCC needs to hold her accountable bc the exams are unfair & she'll randomly take down material/PP's that we would normally use to study for exams, w/ out a heads up. Then tell us theyre gone
The WORSE class I ever taken in my life. I only took this Professor because every other class was full and I regret it. Your grade is based on quizzes and hard exams that you dont even get enough time to take. She expects you to remember every single thing from the chapters for exams and that nearly impossible. Take another Professor if you can.
I dont understand the bad reviews. Dr. David is so incredibly caring about her students and wants them to pass! Im assuming the people leaving bad reviews just did not want to do the work. The material is difficult but she takes you through it step by step and makes it easier for you!
I love Dr. David. She is one of the most caring professors I've met at UNC Charlotte and she always gives amazing feedbacks on every assignment. You always get a modest amount of time to complete work, which makes writing a research paper feel much less stressful. If you just ensure that you listen to her feedback and lectures, you can succeed.
Dr. David was an amazing professor to have. I took her night class which was 2-hours long but she knows this and tries her best to bring life to the class. Her lectures are tough since attendance is needed to get the full lectures and homework is doable. The exams are long since they are 100 questions but they are doable with the readings and hw!!!
This class is massively lecture heavy, and Dr. David does her best to make it fun, but an 6pm 3hr long class is fun for no one. The lectures are boring and the class is too long and the exams get harder as the year goes on and there is a lot of specifics from random in-class videos. I love Dr. David she's so sweet but this class was rough.
Cares about her students and loves what she does. She is lecture heavy and exams are 100 questions but very easy if you come to class, take notes, and revise powerpoints. She is not as hard or difficult to understand as some made her out to be.
Nice professor, but lectures are very long and she rarely let's you leave early for her 3-hour long lectures. Grades are based on 2 types of assignments: Weekly FQ quizzes and exams. The exams are extremely long and very difficult with trick questions. The amount of content covered and tested is way too much.
There are 3 tests and 1 final. She is so sweet and funny! I really enjoyed her class & learned so much! make sure to study FQs, PPTs, and her study guides! and she gives back the tests in person so they are helpful for the final!! I loved her!!! attendance was NOT mandatory.
Don't take this professor if you want to fail. She is an extremely tough grader and her feedback is not clear.
If you can avoid taking her please do so. She will fail you..it literally makes no sense to cram 3-4 chapters in an exam, give you 100 questions, and and time the test...what part of the class do you learn? You're going to be too busy trying not to fail. Rather than encouraging you and making sure you're able to gain knowledge she does the opposite
DO NOT AND I MEAN DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS UNLESS YOU WANT TO FAIL. SHE IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!! She doesn't return emails. She gives way too many questions on the exam with so little time. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS
PSYC2103 is an easy course but Dr. David makes it very difficult. She will post four different canvas pages of instructions for one assignment, all with conflicting information, and then make an announcement on top of that. My TA graded things in conflict with the instructions. There was no feedback received from Dr. David. Would avoid if you can.
From May to June, I took PSYC 3116 online with Professor David. She was a terrible teacher, never checks her email, and I wouldn't suggest having her as a teacher again. My recommendation is that you do not sign up for this class with her.
Her class is super easy to pass if you go to class. If you do not go to class, you won't do good. Attendance is NOT mandatory, but she includes many questions on the exams that you could only know if you went to class. The only people who don't like her either didn't go to class or took her online. She is really nice and funny also.
Dr.David is a very professional & caring individual. If you interact by asking questions & showing up you will get a good grade. Take notes by her recommendations, her knowledge is personable & she takes feedback & criticism in order for everyone to learn to the best of their ability. She is very understanding & is willing to work with students!
SHOW UP. She does not take attendance, but if you don't show up, forget about getting an A. On exams, she asks questions directly from lectures/quizzes + provides *incomplete* PP slides to print so taking notes is a breeze TW: If you have a history of disordered eating, pick a different class. Positive mentions of fasting + strict nutrition rules
I was one of her top students this semester and enjoyed her lectures. However, TW if you have history of an ED or any weight struggle DO NOT TAKE HER she literally tells u to fast, says it is better to be thin, and is often insensitive to minorities. If u don't care about that and are willing to attend EVERY CLASS then go for it but be warned.
She doesn't allow computers must take paper notes. Weekly quizzes are easy if you complete the worksheet before hand. You must attend class if you want a good grade even if someone were to send you the notes she uses a lot of videos and verbal examples you wouldn't get. You must study for test because they are difficult and are 100 questions long.
I took her evening class and she does her best to make class fun but understands people will generally show up tired. Electronics aren't allowed, but she provides printable PowerPoints with blanks to make note-taking easier. Attendance isn't mandatory but a lot of test questions come from examples or discussion had in class, so best to attend!
If you're looking for an easy A, don't test well, or have a history of an ED, I wouldn't take this class. Lecture-heavy with triggering topics (fasting) and graded on 3 tests(100 each), a video assignment (20), 9 quizzes (10 each), and a cumulative final (200). Russian immigrant, so it can be hard to understand her at times, but I learned a lot.
The class is easy if you show up to class and take notes. I have read through this past semester's reviews and believe they are all accurate. I want to emphasize that this class is NOT suitable for minorities or those who may struggle with eating disorders. We never really used the textbook other than when she refuted the information within it.
She always provides class note outlines, all you have to do is bring a copy to class to fill out the incomplete slides. This makes attendance "mandatory" but it is not a grade. She provides many extra credit opportunities to those who come to class. Most people hate her no technology rule - I adore it. You only fail if you never go to class!
Be aware that this professor is extremely insensitive to anyone with an eating disorder. She makes sure that it is difficult to get notes if you miss class. Tests are large and can be confusing, but otherwise, the class has little workload.
I've had the privilege of having Dr. David as my professor for over 3 courses now (Human Cog., Health Psych, RM II) and will take Physio. Psych with her next fall. While it may seem lecture heavy at times- she really cares about her students. She enjoys teaching (you even get to do yoga from time to time!) and I've had A+'s for all courses. :)
Dr. David is a good professor. She doesn't talk about the eating disorders section anymore. She is a great professor and is funny. If you attend class she gives extra credit and tells you a couple test questions. The tests count for 80% of your grade so go to class and study. This class can be hard but it is interesting if you like health.
I've had 2 classes with her and loved them. She's an amazing professor, though some dislike her for not tolerating nonsense and are angry they failed. Dr. David is very understanding and cares deeply about committed students. She remembers names and asks how you're doing too. Not common! If youre responsible, you'll do well; if not, expect to fail.
Dr. David was a tough professor. Her tests are almost 100 questions long and cover about 3-4 chapters PLUS the extra material she provides. Be prepared to study and NOT use quizlet or any other generated study formats. Its just a tough course and be prepared to study and read A LOT. If you are not a disciplined student then DO NOT take this class.
Professor David is amazing. She is so kind and very caring. She is strict though, with a no phone policy. She is very exam heavy, and each exam is made up of 20% of your grade. They aren't very hard though, just read the textbook and study using her study guide. She also has some extra credit as well. Just take good notes and study! Best for RM1!
I had health psychology with Dr. David and loved every minute not gonna lie. I thought I was gonna hate it but as long as you attend every lecture that you can and take notes, with minimal studying you can get A's on every test. Also she's like my favorite thing ever
She is a super sweet professor. You don't have to read the textbook, she summarizes it pretty well in her lectures. Not many assignments, those that are given are usually extra credit. Tests are fairly difficult, but she gives a study guide. Whatever is on the study guide, make sure you know inside and out because every detail will be covered.
At times hard to understand, but an excellent teacher. Textbook isn't necessary if you go to class the lectures cover it very well. Only complaint with the class is how much weight is put on the tests. Other than that you'll have a great time in the class and actually learn useful info from Dr. David. Definitely would take her class again.
Dr David, was one of my favorite professors. Although attendance is not mandatory showing up and taking notes is crucial. Laptops and phones are not allowed so all notes are paper pencil. Best professor for RM1 you can tell she really cares about her students.
Dr. David is one of the best psyc profs out there. many people say shes strict but if you follow the syllabus then youll get As. She really cares about students and remembers you This RM2 class was very easy to follow. She makes writing a 15+ paper easy You work on the research proposal all semester but dont have to do the research. take this class
If you're nervous about taking Dr. David based off of these reviews don't be, she is a sweet person never once made me feel self conscious. Her class requires work, but it is still manageable to get an A by going to lectures and reading the textbook. She offers bonus points for attendance, and gives extra credit. Your grade is quizzes and tests.
Dr. David is an amazing professor! She is sweet and does whatever she can to help you. Yes, she does make you put your electronic devices away, but it does help because for her class, you must pay attention. As long as you attend class, take notes, and study, you will be fine. Her lectures can be boring, but you learn a lot! Lot's of extra credit!
I loved Dr. David. Her class was mainly lecture, asking questions, and outside weekly quizzes, which are not a lockdown browser. As long as you pay attention and show up, you should pass with flying colors.
Professor has a no technology policy (no laptop, phone). The professor says she needs your selective attention as to why. The powerpoints online are purposefully incomplete which makes them useless. Lecture may as well be mandatory. Easy class but unbearable lecture. The grade is based off weekly quizzes and overall 4 tests.
Funny professor with a thick russian accent, but you can understand her. Strict NO devices policy during class. 3 exams + cumulative final + no papers. Easy HW once a week. The exams are easy, in class on paper, and are mostly questions from HW. Cons: she posts incomplete PPTs on Canvas, so you HAVE TO get the notes from someone if you miss class.
I had an A in RM 2 the whole semester just for it to get dropped to a d because I "didn't do my paper correctly", tough pill to swallow considering I spent days perfecting that paper while following the rubric to a T. When I asked what I did wrong, she said my paper wasn't the same as past assignments and then didn't answer any further questions.
Overall a fairly easy class, if you go. While attendance isn't mandatory, tests align with the lectures more than the textbook. PPP are posted incomplete ensuring that you go to class, if you don't, good luck getting the notes. But Dr.David is a ray of sunshine and really cares about her students.
