She is a little hard to understand at times, but is still a very good teacher. She is very hard though. Tests take a lot of studying and practice problems. 3-4 quizzes, 3 tests, and a final. Homework is optional, but you need to do it to have a chance of passing.
Difficult to understand at times, lots of problems, but is do-able. Had an A going into the final, but came out with a B. Final is HARD and comprehensive.
She is the best teacher that I ever had in Physics. Very clear and very helpful. I you want to make A, you must study.
very good, helpful teacher. I enjoyed her class and easy got A
she is very helpful but you must to study inorder to get A
there is a language barrier problem, sometimes we were confused because she couldn't find the correct word to use, which was not helpful when we were learning about a new concept.
long hard tests, only a few items on her study guide review were on the actual test; I made two A's in highschool physics & an A in 1401; however, I made a C in her class; a big disappointment.
excellent teacher as long as you follow allong and stud. if you do you'll pass with a good grade
There is a serious language barrier here. Li has a very thick accent & many times cannot find the right word to use to express what she means. I dropped her class because I couldn't understand what she was saying. It was a complete waste of my time and money. Now I will have to register & pay to take this class with another Instr. in the summer
Her direction is clear but test is really hard. She gives review questions but the test questions are much harder.
she is very helpful and nice teacher. It was an easy A class for me but I love physics. If you put the neccessary effort and time you will make an A. There will be quizess at the end of every 3 or 2 chapters you are alowed to have formula sheet.
word of advice: if you memorize all the formulas and understand how they work and why they are used then you should get an A. BUT yeah it was hard to understand her in class but if you do well on the quizzes and complete the reviews it should be no prob.
SHe is very hard, I thought but I also do not like physics. Dr. Li is a great teacher but you must pay attention to her speaking. She even tries to make jokes. :) Personally, I liked her. I got a C but it was becasue I didn't study enough.
if you are not a good math or physics student from high school, dont take her. if you are good take her. she is not very clear and sometimes got mad at a girl who kept pesting her. this is an easy A is you do ALL her quizzes and homework. questions repeat themselves.
Word of Advice: Do not take her class if you want an A, if you want a B then take it. She is extremely hard to understand because she's got a very thick accent, study the quizzes and you'll be fine.
When taking Physics youhave to understand that it is a hard class anyways. No matter what teacher YOU HAVE TO STUDY. She was helpful, smart and really tried to get you to understand it. You have to do work to understand this stuff. Made a B and actually had to drop the class previously because of the professor. I liked her.
VERY hard to understand, she gets angry when you ask a question, and her notes and slides are written the way she talks, making them equally hard to comprehend. I went through this course solely by learning it myself. Everyone in my class would agree that SHE NEEDS TO KNOW ENGLISH TO TEACH A SUBJECT AS COMPLEX AS PHYSICS.
I would not recommend her to anyone. I barely passed her class. She has a thick accent and her lectures do not prepare you for the test. She does give nice curves on tests. I am satisfied that i managed to pass her class.
Dr Li has been the best physics teacher I've had. I dropped my previous physics class because the professor wasn't very good; Dr Li made physics interesting and easy to understand. I'm not sure why everyone else said her accent is thick; that's not the case. She uses real-world examples and is incredibly kind and accessible.
Knows what she is talking about, just VERY Very difficult to understand.
shes very good....take her
Do not take her. She is very hard to understand and her quizzes and tests are hard. She tells you to study one thing and then none of it is on the test. look for another teacher... do yourself a favor...
She is a really good teacher. I mean the material is hard itself but if you do your part, she will do hers. She goes pretty far with helping people. So I recommend take her. Shes good at what she does.
Great teacher! She will not let you slack off at all. If your can learn fast and do homework then you will never have a problem with her class. If you BS your way though it you will fail her course. Labs are super easy and test and quizes are almost exactly out of the book.
Honestly, just read the book, and do the homework she assigns. Her tests/Quizzes are almost exactly the problem she assigns from the homework. If you do this the night before you will get an A in her class.
Worst teacher in my entire college career. Gets mad if you even ask her a question. Very hard to understand her, language issues. Just signed up for her class and hope I make it out without affecting my GPA. Don't make the same mistake I made. Look elsewhere.
BEWARE is all I gotta say. Not worth your time or effort. Can't understand her at all. Poor teaching, bad grading.
Honestly, difficult to understand and test/quizzes are extremely difficult.
Li seems like she knows what she's talking about, but she barely speaks English and assumes that everyone can keep up with her regardless. Her tests and quizzes are poorly worded, so it's difficult to know what they're asking.
Professor Li seems like she knows what she is talking about, but she can barely speak English. Her tests are filled with misspelling which cause major confusion... The tests/quiz's are difficult, but manageable. Oddly enough, the Final exam was easy, all she did was combine the three major tests that she gave out throughout the semester.
I took her online over the summer. She always replied to emails fast. Her test were really easy. As long as you go through the lecture notes she gives you and do the homework you will do good in this class. Would take her again!
She gets so frustrated when you don't understand and asking questions is useless because she never answers them. I did not learn a thing in her class. If you like learning independently, you'll be fine. If not, she is a struggle.
She's a really hard professor. Her accent is super THICK and she does not answer questions and gets frustrated when you ask for help. Her tests are pretty hard since she does not make them up herself. You HAVE to read the textbook and learn by yourself cause she wont be much help
Worst science teacher EVER. Literally made me change the way I think about science. Her accent isn't the problem. The sentence structures of her tests, quizzes, and power points make NO SENSE whatsoever. At least more than half of the my class failed. BEWARE. Do NOT take this teacher unless you want to die in failure of science.
THIS PROFESSOR IS SUPPER THICK ACCENTS. START 10 . AT THE END 3 LEFT IN HER CLASS. WHAT'S WRONG WITH HER ?
Hard,Useless,Confusing, not Interest level prior to attending class:-high Textbook use:. GET AWAY FROM THIS PROFESSOR ASAP.
Worst teacher, grading wasn't clear, no curves on test. If you're good in math then you'll be fine, if not GET A NEW TEACHER.
she has super thickness accents. You really have to teach YOURSELF in this class. If you're not prepared to, then don't waste your time. I dropped!
She is extremely useless as a professor. She does not teach any material thoroughly and she is very frustrating to listen to. I would rate her less than 1 if possible. She is very unclear and very unorganized. We went over Coulombs law for 3 weeks and now are rushing through optics at the end of the semester...not learning ANYTHING. AVOID HER!
This is an example for an unqualified professor of teaching at Richland College. We aren’t recommending for all your learning need from this professor.
it was hell when i was in her hands . now I dropped it , i felt relief the stress.
NIce lady but not a good teacher. sHe stands in front of what she is writing and you learn nothing. Find another teacher if you are interested in learning.
She isn't very funny and helpful instructor. Follow her explanation in class and do your homework and quiz online and you will make an F failed like me.
You do not expect to ask her anything concerning of your grade or question of the exam or homework. She will say NO. And go read the books. That is not THE PROFESSOR at RICHLAND COLLEGE.
I DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS GOING TO SAY HOWEVER, THIS PROFESSOR WAS SUPPER BAD FOR GRADING. SAVE GPA FOR SOME OTHERS
run away as fast as you can from this professor. she will fail yall.
i highly recommend to not take her, i rather sugg you take online class. she can't explain very well, she is not even interested in teaching. her tests are difficult and very very different from homework. if you wanna self-teach your self by going to class then I would say, it will be okay to take her.
UNQUALIFIED teacher- actually NOT fun to go to class- BAD teacher UNhelpful and NOT really cares about students
If you ask me what i learned in her class i would look at you stupid because i haven't learned anything!!! All she does is yell at you and if you want to ask a question she will yell at you. I would recommend you to get another teacher if you actually want to learn something.
I honestly don't know why she has such a bad rating. They all say it's hard but that's because PHYSICS is hard in general. Don't blame the teacher for your lack of understanding. It's really all up to you, she's just there to guide. Her grading is fair. If you at least set up the equations correctly on the testquiz, she will give you some points.
Physics is hard. She makes it easy. Her tests seem hard but they are not as hard as what she teaches. She loves her subject and cares for her students. Labs are fun and not so hard. She likes it when students sit in the first row. Totally choose her.
She's a smart lady. Strangely, I haven't fallen asleep in this class. Ask yourself if you're a hard worker. If you are, take this class.
Dr. Li is an excellent teacher. She is very knowledgeable about Physics and has high expectations for all her students. Her lab assignments are well prepared and she makes sure everyone participates. Dr. Li makes Physics interesting and fun.
She is enthisuasm in teaching, and want to make sure that every student in her class understand what she taught. There are clear examples in every lessons for her student to catch what she taught. Hard online homeworks but easy tests and grade. I just got an A- on her class because of my laziness. Overall she is a great professor.
If u show u are trying she will be very helpful. Participate in lecture and labs
She is a very good teacher. She would do anything for her student to understand the subject. Tests are easier than homework, and she grade very easy.
Honestly, she is a good teacher with a heavy accent. The reason I liked this teacher is that she's trying to work hard for everyone to understand her concept. She gives curves and within those curves, you can make corrections for half credit but do not depend on it. Make sure you show up for class and participate because she will give some points.
She isnt a bad person and I understand that teaching physics is hard but there is just something about her class that makes you dose off. She isnt very good at lecturing but the material she talks about is interesting. Not the worst class I took but it could be better. Labs are the worst part! also she gets irritated easily if you ask too many Q's
She was sometimes hard to understand but still broke the material down and made it easy to understand. Doesn't like slackers or people who don't respect her. Doesn't like qs during class time, but makes the material understandable. Tests just like the quizzes and the homework. Do the work, don't talk in class, and you'll be fine. txtbk a must.
Professor Li made me enjoy physics! It is clear that she is qualified to teach physics, and she gives good lectures. Take labs seriously, study for quizzes/mid terms with homework questions, read the textbook, and pay attention to lectures.
Beware. She is a difficult grader. She made Physics hard & uninteresting. She gave tests that were so hard that many students drop & flunk. She was not compassionate with grading. Assignments went missing & she could not find them & accuse us about not doing them. She was rude in her emails to us. Do not take her courses: she will surely fail U.
Professor Li is very caring. She cares about her students. Her lecture is very easy to understand. If you have any question, feel free to ask. She is willing to say it again until you get it. I recommend her for Physics 1401.
Do not take her cass. She is not clear in what she wants ! Her final was 80 questions for 1 hr and 20 mins! Her exams are way to long for the amount of time she gives. She is very rude when you email her about grades. I passed her class with a B but i still would not recommend her class.
she has bad grammar and her tests are so confusing and so are her lectures. she has anger issues and makes you feel dumb for asking a question. you will barely learn anything
Practice. Don't procrastinate. She grades fairly but one has to work hard and understand the concept well.
Has an accent, but explains concepts decently. Not the best but still decent. Made a 97 in her class without any studying. Just pay attention in class and youll be fine. She allows formula sheets on exams which made it really easy. Homework every week, can be a bit tedious but helps in solidifying your concepts. I wouldnt mind taking her again.
She allows formula sheels. She doesn't mind explaining the material to you, no matter how many times you ask! Her reviews says she's mean, she's really not. She's doesn't have anger problems, I think she just wants to get her point across. She's really nice and caring. Very helpful also, don't be afraid to ask lots of questions.
Idk why people are saying she's mean. She's incredibly nice and really cares about our education. A very fair and lenient grader but not an easy class. You have to actually do the work but you will definitely learn a lot. Wants you to ask questions and participate. You can use a formula sheet. Would take again!
This professor is one of those professors that actually care more about you understanding the concept than mere memorization so she will go as fast as the students understanding. She grades generously as long as she sees you're on the right track. She helps you understand the concepts in class so you won't have to struggle at home. Highly recommend
Her inexperince seeps through and hinders the students understanding of such a critical subject: physics. She is a waste of your time, money, and energy. She has a huge temper, if you ask a question (that is if she understood it) she would give you the look of "biggest idiot in class" and reply with "OH IT'S EASY!" expecting you to know everything
I honestly don't get why she has nice comments They were the reason I took her She is awful Doesn't solve much on the board Barely speaks coherent English She gets pissed real quick so be ready to be a genius and understand everything before it's even lectured about
One of the best teachers. She cares about her students. She gives review packages for finals. If you take good notes and finish homework on time, you will be fine. Good luck.
I took this proffesor for physics space and galaxy for two terms and she just made me fall in love with astronomy and physics. her class is based on power point slide and you take notes. thats it just take good notes and you are ready for whatever she thows at you. Take her if you are actually intersted in the subject.
She's very smart but highly disorganized in many ways. Didn't finish all the chapters because not only there was a lot of material but time management is bad. Clear grading criteria but quizzes and test dates are always changing. Impatient and very condescending - treats you like an elementary student. Assumes that you already know the material.
A very sweet professor, and so helpful! She just wants to help you succeed.
She doesnt speak very cohearent English, so she is very hard to understand. She is sometimes rude and her quizzes are grammatically bad. She doesnt explain things well either. I would definitely avoid taking a physics class with her.
People complain her lectures are hard, but that's not true. She cares about her students. 4 exams including finals. she curves the score and also gives lots of extra credit.
Seem's like an angry person and doesn't care about students. Poor english makes it more difficult
Worst professor ever, so rude and disrespectful. Hated every second of the class and would not retake it if my life depended on it. Very bad at teaching and there is no point in going to her lectures.
She cares and goes around to every student to make sure they understand the subject. She's passionate about the subject and expect you show the same enthusiasm. I didn't need to study anything outside of the examples she gave in the class to get an A. with that said, physics is conceptual so it is extremely important you pay attention in class.
Prof Li is a caring professor. After each test she gives you feedback. She has quizzes before each test which will help you to score better each time. Also, it will help you to get an idea on What will be on the test. As long as you dont miss class, take notes from PowerPoint and do your homework you should be fine. Dont hesitate to ask for help.
Can barely understand her. She has a strong accent and does not elaborate at all. Be ready to read the textbook and try to understand the concepts alone. Lectures are unhelpful. She will randomly call on you to answer questions good luck if you don't read the book. Almost the end of the semester and i am barely making it alive.
She cares about the material and her students. As long as you pay attention, you should be fine. The homework helps as much as the lecture.
Not sure why this college hires professors that lack basic English. Hard to understand her and she will randomly call on you to answer questions in class and will get angry and make it seem as if the question is as easy as walking to my car and leaving because that's exactly what i do after entering.
Homework, lecture and tests are very much connected, the requirement is very clear. I learned a lot in the class
She is very helpful and the contents are very organized. So it is very easy to navigate this online class. It is a fun class!
Prof Li is the type of professor who just really cares about your understanding of the material. Pay attention during lecture and ask questions and you can't go wrong.
If you care about the material, you will definitely enjoy the class. Just make sure you show up, pay attention, and complete assignments.
Make sure you attend the lab. There is a lot of work, but if you study you will pass!
She knows her stuff but sometimes she can be confusing. She really cares that her students learn the material. Although, sometimes its not nice the way she talks to students one on one, and can make you feel dumb.
Brilliant professor. Physics is a tough subject but she breaks it down into easily digestible explanations. Very generous with her time, quickly responds to email and readily available in her office. You do have to put in the work and the effort, but be sure that she'll help you every step of the way.
Dr. Li gives students the tools to make an A. It is up to the student to utilize them and put in the effort. She does want to see you care and try. Read prior to lecture and she will seal up any loose ends. She makes herself more than available outside of class to help! Watch the videos she uploads, they help clarify difficult topics or concepts.
Dr. Li really knows her stuff, and teaches in a way that really helped me understand physics.
Dr. Lis online physics was very well organized. She provided a key summary for each chapter that was incredibly helpful for reviewing and studying the material.
I took professor Li class this spring and although it was cut short by the pandemic, she reached out to her students and made sure she could support us in anyway possible. She was very helpful and accommodating. You can tell professor li is very passionate about teaching physics and it very refreshing. I would take her class again.
If you show up and take proper notes, you will pass. She is very good at breaking things down to be easier to understand if you are struggling and responds to emails very quickly. Really cares about her students.
I took professor Li's online PHYS1404 class in the Spring of 2020. The class is very well organized and clear. I definitely recommend this class!
Prof. Li is definitely an excellent teacher. She cares for her students 2 understand the content and honestly makes it easy 2 understand. Her lectures are easy to follow. If you don't understand something, she's willing to explain it to you. Her accent WON'T interfere with your understanding. If you study from her PPT, you're fine!100% recommended
Physics is hard but Prof Li did an amazing job with lecture and explaining to ensure everyone understands the concept. She is very knowledgeable, friendly, and relatable. Highly recommend.
This is my second time taking Dr Li, I would take her a third time if needed. Physics II came easier but only because of the solid foundation that Dr Li built from Physics I. The Covid 19 quarantine did not slow her down one bit. The online lectures/labs were clear and understandable. She was just as available as she was on campus. Take her class!
I learned a lot in this class, and it was very easy to follow along.
The on line class is very well organized and instructions are very clear
Took Dr. Li online for University Physics II and I thought she was a very good professor. Things were probably easier since it was online, but overall she was very helpful and provided good feedback and is understanding.
I took this class over the summer and overall it wasn't bad. Professor Li was easily accessible through email, or video chat if necessary, whenever I had questions. Her video lectures were straight forward and the homework was a guaranteed 10% as long as you completed them. I would definitely take this class with her again.
professor LI, Is very flexible and understanding! Shes knowledgeable about the course and her lectures are easy to understand. Her test is similar to questions on the lecture and shes an easy grader. she really cares for her students and wants to see you succeed! I would highly recommend her!
I was never great at Physics, but the lectures in this course really helped me understand. If you watch the lectures and do the homework, then you can skip the textbook. She's extremely accessible, nice, and understanding. Also, a fair grader. Physics is usually hard no matter what, so expect a challenge, but she's the best Physics prof I've had!
Physics is not my strong suit and I definitely struggled to get an A in this course but Professor Li did an excellent job of presenting the material in an online format - it wasn't easy but not impossible if you put in the work. I strongly recommend reaching out by email or through Blackboard classroom if you have questions!
Physics is a difficult subject to master but Professor Li does a good job of producing lecture material that gives you all the concepts needed to complete the homework and pass exams. She is easily accessible for guidance and help and is very understanding of her students. Tests are hard but she's a fair grader.
Professor Li was a great professor, and clearly stated her expectations of the class from the beginning. All the readings, homework, and labs prepare you for the exams and the material is fairly straightforward. If you ever have any questions or concerns, professor Li is always available to meet to further explain concepts.
Professor Li is one of the best professors and her class is easy if you listen to her lectures and read the textbook. She explains the chapters very clearly, and does practice questions in her lectures which really helps as you can understand how that concept is applied in real world. She is very easy to reach and responds within 24 hours.
Professor Li is really caring for her students. If you have any questions, you can email her, and she will help you with detailed explanation. The labs and exams are related to the textbook content, so make sure you go through the materials before taking the exams.
Her curves are like +2 points or something - feeling like they're "pity points." The test is sooo hard to get an A, and it's 50% of your grade! Like, come on, 12-15 questions? AND mostly short answer? Also, don't expect GOOD help from her. She makes you feel dumb about yourself. I had to get help elsewhere. If you can't help, at least be nice ugh!
The tests are graded 2 times in the grade book. Let's just say she grades hard.
The lecture is well organized. It is easy to follow.
Prof Li is really caring and responds to emails very quickly. She was easily accessible and very flexible. I would definitely take this course with her again.
Very lecture heavy but her way of explaining can be confusing. Professor Li is not very lenient and will not accept any excuse so don't even think about late work. Labs were pretty easy but quizzes and tests were hard and wording was confusing.
I took this class during the winter break. I was afraid I would fail. She is very hopeful. She responds to emails very quick EVEN ON WEEKENDS which is very rare. If you watch her lectures and break down the problems like she does you will pass every exam. Hw was hopeful 17 max and the exams were very short but you are given alot of time.
Professor Li is very demanding, but takes the time to explain everything well. If you show up & ask questions & follow her problem-solving methods you will learn a lot!
Prof Li is really tough but if you ask for help she will give it. Always available to help, and responds very quickly and with a lot o fdetail!
Professor Li is fantastic! You will definitely need to put in the work as this course is fast paced, but I learned so much and feel confident in the material thanks to Professor Li.
Professor Li is very good at breaking down physics problems into understandable components. She is also always available via email which was super helpful for me. Tests are hard, but overall I felt prepared for them.
Clearly knows her stuff! Made me realize that physics is actually really cool and can help you see the world in a new light!
The lectures are directly what will be on the tests. If you take good notes and pay attention then you can easily pass the class. The only problem is from time to time her wording can be confusing and misleading. Overall as long as you put in the effort to listen she explains enough for you to learn the concept
Super nice and class easy to follow! She helps with anything you may need and is super responsive to emails. Totally recommend this class online.
She was quite alright. All you need to do is to follow instructions.
Difficult class but manageable. Whenever I had questions about homework or labs she responded very fast with clear feedback.
The professor responded to emails within minutes no matter what the time was. The grading was easy and the course load was manageable. I highly recommend this professor for physics 2!!
Dr. Li is a good professor. At times, her lectures were hard to understand (youtube/ask help from people helped me get an A). She likes group labs. She is knowledgeable. She is quick to email respond to questions/gives detailed explanations even past normal hours. She grades tests/labs quick. No EC, only exam curves. Exams are open end+MC.
She was great! Responds to emails quickly and thoroughly. She cares about your understanding of the material. I took her for both physics 1 & 2. I recommend her course!
Great professor! Will take again
The labs are very vague. You have to work with a group (even though it's an online class) to complete the labs. Her slight accent makes the lectures hard to understand.
Very well organized!
Dr. Li is brilliant and explains physics concepts with lots of practical examples. She is very caring professor; always available. Responds to emails quickly, same day. Her exams and labs are challenging, and it forces you to think, which makes it interesting. If you get it, then it is enjoyable. Pay attention to her lectures and you will be fine!
Her teaching makes it enjoyable and informative during this course. Her teaching style and approach to the subject matter made it easy for me to comprehend, and I learned a great deal as a result. If you are not science smart this would be a good class to take as it is easy to understand.
Prof. Li is an amazing professor. I had her for two semesters for PHY 1401-2, and I passed with an A. Her teaching methods are perfectly balanced. She makes exams, homework, and labs easy, and we work in groups of 3 for the lab assignments. Prof. Li also gives partial credit on exams, including lab work. I highly recommend taking a course with her.
I initially took professor Li for physics 1401 and enjoyed learning from her so much that I chose her for physics 1402 as well. Professor Li's course setup is very clear. Mostly her course consist of labs, homework assignments, and quizzes and exams. Labs were mostly a group assignment. Overall, I would recommend professor Li for physics.
I think Professor Li does amazing at teaching physics especially breaking down problems and how it works in solving a problem. I really enjoyed taking the course online and how Professor Li is great at feedback and emailing you back.
Professor Li is amazing!! Homework is heavy as expected but nothing to worry about as everything you need to be successful in this class will be provided. Clear communication and very well-set expectations from the beginning.
Prof. Li is an incredibly kind and accommodating professor. The homework is short and easy and her tests are fair and open-note with ample time to complete them. Some labs are done in groups and can be a bit tricky but she is not a harsh grader so you should be fine. Just make sure to complete all assignments as best you can. 10/10 would recommend!
Take her Astrology Class, easy to the point and fun!!!!
I had her for both Phys 1401, and 1402. Professor Li gave great lecture videos and they were easy to understand. She is very responsive to emails. The hardest and most time-consumed part of the courses was the homework on Macmillan website. Her tests are easier versions of the homework. Also, there are group labs and quizzes. Great professor!
Prof Li is great - her videos and feedback make the challenging material manageable. The homework can be time-consuming, but using unstuck study alongside the textbook really helps with study prep.
Overall, great professor. Email to ask questions about anything, she is very caring. Videos and PowerPoints to guide you through the lessons. 2 homeworks per chapter (10 total chapters) but unlimited attempts. Group labs--most time consuming. 4 tests, not proctored, 90 mins (test 2 probably the hardest).
She would berate us if we were not in class. Pretty loudly, in front of the whole class. It was so weird, she was fairly nice but aggressive in person and she constantly got problems wrong in class. Mind you, this was a long class and she would have the wrong answer constantly. It frankly made me VERY upset. I suggest another physics teacher.
Study for the quizzes, prepare for the labs. Class is from the textbook but easy to follow. Plenty of time to finish assignments even with a full schedule. Good class to take for meeting physics requirements for non-engineering majors. I would take this professors class again.
