Well organized lectures which match well to well balanced not too lengthy tests. He is very interested in the careers of the students by advising and encouraging to any aspiring psychologist.

Ziv is a fantastic professor. He's enthusiastic, young and really connects well with the students. He likes to tell funny stories and talk about his baby son. Classes usually consisted of debates, which he encouraged, since he likes to talk as well. Extra credit on every test. Attendance is advised, since tests are part lecture and part book stuff.

Very funny professor, he does a great job of making the class interesting. Though attendance is not required, it's a good idea to be in class since there are questions on the tests that derive from the lecture. I highly recommend this prof.

Ziv is a great prof! He is super easy! You take 5 tests total, he drops your 2 lowest test grades. No homework. Tests are a little tricky, but just study all notes, he doesnt really use the book at all. i regret buying the book, because i really never even opened it, and got a B in his class. There is a group project that if your there you get 100!

Great teacher, he makes the class interesting and is pretty funny. His scoring system is great, even if you struggle with the subject you can still come out with a good grade. Definitely suggest this teacher.

Ziv is a really good professor & a really nice person. He made the class so interesting! He always had us laughing in class & was a great communicator. Nice guy. Knows what he's talking about. Easy class as long as you listen. I accidentally ordered the wrong book at the start and couldn't get a replacement, didn't need the book thanks to in-class notes.

He was a pretty awesome teacher, even though he did rant about some things, he always connected it to what we were learning. I thought it was an easy class but I made a C because I was just lazy. I could have made an A though, that's how great and helpful this class is and he made it interesting too

This class was fun! The tests were not easy but if you studied the definitions and went to class it was not difficult to get an A. I thoroughly enjoyed going.

The class was not hard it is all test based. There are 5 exams the 5th one is an extra credit exam that is opptional and helps bring your grade up by one letter grade. If you have testing problems you will struggle through out though course. He goes over all of the key terms and will answer any question he does talk about one topic more than others

AMAZING PROFESSOR, TAKE HIM. He has such a great sense of humor, I love coming to his classes. They're super interesting and he teaches well. If you take notes and are interested, you'll do well. He's a young, cool, hip guy and really funny. BUT you do need to study and work for an A. His lectures are clear so its easy to take notes. He's great!

Online. Easy class, easy professor. Tests on campus, must study. Read his "my take" sections.. he uses them on the tests (even stuff about his life). Answered emails right away. Overall great professor.

Dr. Shafir was very patient, understanding and he knows his stuff (he open my eyes to psychology)...If you study his notes on what he talks about in class, you will do great! He's super nice and really clear. I barely had to study for the tests and made almost perfect grades every time. He also tells funny stories about his life, which was cool. I would definitely recommend taking his class.

This professor is awesome. Don't really need the book too much, unless you don't show up to class very often. 4 exams, 1 extra credit at the end. He's a very funny teacher. Loves teaching psychology. If you can't make it on the day of the exam he's understanding if you email him and can take it later on in the week. Doesn't care about attendance.

Ziv rocks. He is very relateable. He talks a lot about the topics by providing articles that are current and then talks about the materials. Tests are a bit tricky so read the answers carefully. He was fantastic.

Practice tests at the end of each chapter in the textbook & the website mentioned on the syllabus are very similar to the test. You'll have to take each test at the Testing Center offered at any of the campuses. Do extra credit each week, and should be an easy A or B

Graded on exams, and extra credit if you choose to do it. Test are taken at Testing Center on campus. Instructor is clear, and helpful.

Shafir is a good professor but his test can be a little tricky sometimes all you have to do is know the key terms and know examples that go with each key term and you will be fine.

Awesome professor! Very funny, entertaining, nice, and cool. Definitely take his class! I didn't even read the textbook, and received an A. He very clearly tells you the key terms and says them slowly so you can write them down. He also has a practice exam online that contains some of the questions that will be on the actual exam. No H/W at all!

This was my favorite of any college class I've ever taken! He was hilarious, understanding, helpful, extremely relatable and encouraged class discussion. He made it incredibly engaging by telling stories and showing us clips of 60 minutes. I absolutely loved the class and highly recommend it with him! It is super easy and fun.

This was one of the easiest classes. Everything you need to learn is specified in the course documents. If you study that, you should have no problem getting an A in this class. I took the 8 week online class.

AMAZING PROFESSOR! Made me LOVE Psychology, really down to earth guy. His lessons are relatable making it easier to remember for tests. He also involves everyone in the class in discussion and actually cares to hear what you have to say. TAKE HIS CLASS.

AMAZING teacher. Tests only, which means you have to study hard since each are worth %20 of your grade. He does give one extra credit exam and makeups for tests. You don't really need the book. Awesome teacher. He lectures, there are five 50 question multiple choice tests, and one 30 point extra credit one at the end. Very simple and clear cut. If I ever need to take another psychology class, I would ask for Ziv. He's great and respectful.

Ziv is a super funny guy!!! He loves what he teaches and his tests are extremely similar to his notes. show up pay attention to his presentations and your good. There are 5 tests worth 100 points each (500 total. 450 for an A)and an extra credit exam worth 30! if at end of the sem you r a couple points off an the next letter then take the xc exam.

I have showed up maybe 50% of the semester (he doesn't take attendance) and I am making a C for the semester. What I am saying is don't apply yourself, still pass, apply yourself and you'll raise your GPA. He is funny, down to earth, talks about his son a lot, and makes you think about life. He is a great professor and worth taking :)

Great Professor! If you come to all the classes and take good notes you will make an A! I never read the chapters in the book, I would only go over my notes a couple times before the test and do the practice questions in the back of the book and the ones he posts online. His tests are just like his lectures. Plus he's funny!

Do yourself a service and take Ziv's class! He is hilarious, very kind and does not want to trick you on exams. I took him for a summer session and am so glad I did. Easy Class. He is really helpful. He goes by his first name and is really funny. The best way to explain him is the robotic version of the textbook. Haha I hardly used the textbook though.

Professor Shafir (Ziv) is an outstanding instructor. He does a great job relating experiences to the curriculum and has great insight to problems or frustrations we encounter everyday. 6 tests, last one is a bonus. Pay attention to KEY NOTES and lecture and you're good! Got a B only because work interfered with tests #'s 2 & 3. Would def take again

I read most of the chapters, when to all the lectures, and did the online practice tests he posts. I got all A's. He's very, very fair, consistent, and objective on his tests. If you're easily distracted though, he can cause some daydreaming - from his dreaminess!

I love this teacher! I mean he is the best at what he does. He is funny, personable and loves talking about his son. I showed up about 50% of the time and made a C in the class. If you apply yourself, read the textbook and follow the notes you will get a better grade. He always starts with current articles and than does key terms. take him!

He was an amazing professor, I actually was excited to go to his class. Its very easy because he goes over everything you need in his lectures for the tests. He tells funny stories about himself and keeps you interested with class discussions about hot topics (sex, homosexuality, etc.). Didnt need the book at all. Wish I could continue with him!

He is a great professor. Tests come (mostly) from keyterms that he discusses in lectures. Clear and straight-to-the-point lectures, gives examples that are related to the topics. Utilizes blackboard for the keyterms, practice questions, and grades. Study keyterms and notes, do practice questions, you'll be good. Highly recommend him.

Just take his class. Awesome lecture. You can get an A if you are in every class and study before the tests.

This professor is absolutely AWESOME! The grading criteria is strictly point based and if you make less than a B on tests it is purely because you did not apply any effort to his class. All lecture notes are clearly stated and used in his tests. Be sure to pay attention to his lecture examples and you'll do great!

Very clear about what he wants/expects. Does not try to "trick" students on tests. You know what to expect in his classes. Tests are easy as long as you study your notes. He provides practice quizzes through blackboard that really help to assess how prepared you are for the test. Highly recommend. Don't bother with book, everything is in lectures.

Ziv is a great professor. He relates hard to understand concepts to his real life and encourages you to relate them to your own life. Show up most of the time and you will pass. He knows his subject matter very well and his lectures are straight forward, minimal rambling so you know exactly what to take notes on. He is stupidly attractive too.

Professor Shafir has his teaching material down! He could teach this material the exact same way, everytime, in his sleep. His in class lessons are very helpful to attend, covering everything you'd need to know on his multiple choice tests, rather than reading every single word in the 30 pg chapters. He's very clear on what material to focus on.

This class is hard to fail, Mr. Ziv test reflect his lectures, some questions you'll find in the book if you read. But easy A, as long as you study and take notes.

I took this course over the summer. If you read, you'll pass. Three chapters from the textbook and one quiz every week. There are opportunities for extra credit if you don't do as well as you'd like. Super easy class. Highly recommend.

Dr. Shafir is an incredible lecturer, he reads from a list of key terms that pertain to what you will be tested on but it's only the terms. Meaning it's up to him to explain it without reading word for word on a powerpoint, which is just simply a god send in today's world. My major is mental health nursing and I'm extremely glad I took him.

Really great professor, gives you access to his personal takes on the readings and if you study that you should pass the tests. There is a textbook but the tests are easy enough that you don't always need to read it.

I loved this class. His textbook choice was great (and affordable), and his extra credit helped with reinforcing concepts. He was responsive to emails and I really learned a lot. The class was very interesting and it was so relevant to today's news stories. I highly recommend!

your grade is only based on 5 or 6 multiple choice tests which i found pretty easy. lectures give all the information you need but if you prefer you can skip class and get all the answers from the textbook. all test questions are definition or example. the last test is optional depending on your grade and what youre aiming for

Attendance only matters for the first 2 weeks (ACC regulations) but I would suggest going to all the classes because he is very thorough in the in-class lectures. I thoroughly enjoyed his class, made it very easy to learn a lot of material in such a short amount of time. Only grades are the tests, and you can take an extra credit test if necessary.

Only taken him for an online class, so I never got to meet him in person. However, he sounds very nice in his emails/assignments. All of the instructions are very straightforward and easy to follow. I found the class PSYC-1301 to be pretty time consuming, but an easy A as long as you take the time to read the chapters. I have no complaints!

I LOVED this class so much that I ended up changing my major to psychology. Ziv is a great teacher and the class is based on four or five not cumulative tests. he posts the slides online and also has clear objectives online too. He's super nice and easy to talk to. The last test is optional. all test q's are definition or example.

This has by far been one of my FAVORITE professors of all time! He engages with his student's and knows how to make us laugh! I am a Sonography major, so classes like these, I soak up like a sponge and retain information. His tests are easy if you study and take notes! I wish I could take this class again!

I took this class in Spring 2017 and thought that the material was very interesting. His lectures are informative and funny. As long as you take notes and study them, the tests are quite easy, and he also has extra credit opportunities. I would take him again.

Dr. Ziv is a very caring professor even I took this online. As long as you participate in the discussion and do the extra credits plus study harder on the test it's easy A.I found his tests overwhelming but when I got the feel of it , it was easy. Tests were straightforward from notes and he gives examples for each term he goes over. He responds fast to emails. Everything that is a necessity and is helpful for an online class is provided very well by Prof. Shafir.

Prof Shafir is a really good choice. In an online class, he gives 5 tests per semester as well as an extra credit assignment every week. He's willing to send you the list of questions you missed on tests if you ask him, and he's very accessible and will answer most questions you ask him. Not the most amazing professor ever, but he's a good choice.

He's really easy to talk to, and makes learning fun. I learned a lot about myself, and a lot about the world. If you show up to class you should have no problem getting an A. Going to class is key, and paying attention to the lectures.

He is amazing. Love his way of explaining things. You can even not show up and just read the material he gives you and you'll pass. He articulates himself well and I love how he actually wants to hear what students think.

Took Ziv's 8 week course. No homework, no assignements, no essays, only exams every week, but real easy and taken from straight from the notes. He provides you with enough extra credit to pass the class. If you don't make an A, you are really not trying. Great professor!

You don't need to read the textbook. Read the lecture notes and turn them into flashcards for key terms. Memorize them and it's an easy A. Take advantage of the extra credit, it's not a ton of work and is helpful. Never got below a 95 on any of his exams.

Literally the BEST online Prof Ive ever had! Is super fast at responding to emails and gives so much extra credit its almost impossible to not get an A. Hes so incredibly kind and gives help and suggestions without even being asked for it. Study the given key terms and youre sure to get an A on every Test.

He interacts with the classroom in a way that shows his remarkable ability for the student to focus and learn, adding in a bit of laughter with his unique and quality of person. 4 Exams, Discussion Board questions and Article Summary for ECs. Notes sheet that go over Key Terms in addition to all of their related examples are important since they are what will be in the exams. Study them and their detailed example to prepare. Use Quizlet to memorize key terms. OpenStax book can be skimmed over. Great and available teacher.

AMAZING PROFESSOR!!! definitely take him if you want an easy A. easy grader, his class consists of 3 exams and 24 extra credit assignments so you don't really have to do them unless you want. His tests are super easy, I didn't really study and managed to get A's on all my exams. TAKE HIM!! 10/10 WOULD RECOMMEND. you won't regret it.

I did not regret taking this class whatsoever, super easy. I got an A, an easy grader. 3 exams and he gives a lot of extra credit assignments, which you don't have to do. His exams are not proctored. You can pass without even trying, Quizlet is your best friend.

One of the easiest classes I've taken so far! I took his 8-week online asynchronous course and it went without a hitch. There were 5 exams, 50 questions each with 3 days to take them and tons of opportunities for extra credit every week. Great class for an easy A and to learn a few cool psychology things.

Short-term class, you take an exam every week. You get a study guide of key terms with small video lectures to improve your understanding. You can pass just like that but he also offers a book and creates his own chapter notes. There's a lot of extra credit and announcements of all deadlines multiple times a week. There's no way to fail the class!

Great professor, easy A in this class honestly. Took it completely online with no lecture and still made an A. Super laid back. If you can get this professor take him seriously you're basically guaranteed an A if you do the work which isn't a lot.

I had this class asynchronously. Prof provided all of the materials you need for the entire semester, so you could get ahead if you wanted to. He provides notes, some videos, and more context on the notes he took for you to read. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THOSE NOTES. The tests were up to 50 questions, but as long as you study the material, it's very easy.

I took this as a summer course. There is a lot of reading and a test every week, however he provides audio lectures, notes and practice questions that are very clear and helpful for testing. He also provides ample extra credit opportunities should you need it. 100% would take a class with him again!

Prof Shafir understands that college is time consuming and stressful. He doesn't assign a lot of work, but instead cuts right to the chase. Online consisted of 5 exam and optional extra credit. He response fast and is understanding.

I took this course online during the summer and I enjoyed it! So many extra credit options, exams are easy if you study, and his lectures are very informative. Professor Shafir is very passionate about the material, he replies almost immediately to emails, I would take him again.

I took his online course and I loved how he presented his pre-recorded lectures. He puts them in mini 1-2 min videos that make the lectures more enjoyable instead of just watching a full 1-2 hour lecture straight. He replies to emails very quickly, even when you email him at midnight because you procrastinating on doing the test lol. He's great

Easily my favorite professor so far at ACC. Relatable, funny, great at getting participation up in classes. You will regret missing lectures, not because it puts you particularly behind, but because you miss the energy of the class. Classes are well organized, and every lecture has notes with video links so that you may review or catch up.

He is an amazing professor and I would recommend him to anyone. It's 5 tests only and extra credit is offered for all of the tests which is nice. Lectures are great and interactive so you won't feel like you're being talked at for an hour. He wants you to pass his class but won't just give you the grade so remember you have to put the work in.

He offers extra credit, and while the tests are a bit challenging, they're manageable if you study. I found that flashcards were the best tool for preparing. although attendance is not mandatory I would 100% recommend going to classes cause he gives insightful details and great examples.
