Zoya is a wonderful professor!! She cares sooo much about our education that she will sit there explaining until you get it. She will do anything in her power to ensure your success. I LOVE THIS CLASS!
I had Ms. Minasyan for lab and clinical, and although everyone loved her and she was sweet and all, her time management skills were WAY off. I didn't feel like I learned much. Maybe it was just the term I had her. She is very kind and sweet and willing to go out of her way to help you anytime you need,
Ms. Zoya is the sweetest professor. She explains the material, step-by-step, and makes us practice the procedures in lab. She is very patient and is very helpful in helping us understand why we do certain procedures. She was wonderful.
By far my favorite teacher at the school. If you go to class you will definitely pass the class. She gives the best reviews for her tests
She's extremely likable and nice, and I definitely learned from her, but I feel like she went out of her way to let everyone pass. I guess that's a good thing, depending on how you look at it; I kind of feel like a lot of people were not competent nursing students, or would have failed with the other teacher for NURS 201.
Great teacher. I would definitely recommend her. She encourages you to find subjects your interested in to research.
Mrs. Minasyan is probably the most valuable asset a West Coast University, she really makes learning not only fun but at the same time she prepares you for your road ahead in nursing school with all the right knowledge and proper learning tools. What was most valuable was her ability to teach us how to take NCLEX type of questions and to use ATI.
Professor Minasyan challenged me throughout this course. She was always willing to take the time to explain things I was having difficulty with. Her class was definitely not one to cruise through... I had to study throughout, but it was very doable. I learned all of my core nursing skills from her and I'm so thankful for it all.
Professor Minasyan is seriously the best human being. She is a great asset for West Coast University. She is one of the most encouraging, caring, and motivational professors here, if not the only one. She tries to help you as best as she can and wants you to strive and do well in her classes. She gives reviews before each exam and final that help.
It is clear that Professor Minasyan wants her students to pass the class. However, you don't retain anything from her lectures. You basically have to teach every single thing to yourself. Be sure to read the ATI book and her slides. The thing that saved me the most was her reviews before the exams. Good luck!
Professor Minasyan goes out of her way to make sure you understand the material.
Sweet does NOT mean good professor. You don't give hr long breaks and tweak grades to ensure the passing of your students, yet teach NOTHING in your class. I'm not there to mess around, I'm there to learn. She's a waste, and needs to learn a thing or two from Taylor, Roces, Dyer, Modina, and a few other actual professors.
Sweet is just a bonus to what Prof Minasyan actually is. She's def knows how to teach a class, is caring, will never trick you, understands & ALWAYS helps. Instead of blaming and accusing a professor its better to remember just how many students HAVE passed this class successfully & not doing your part is the only way to fail. One the BEST by far.
Ms. Minasyan is one of the best @ WCU. Don't listen to the people that degrade her, they probably didn't pass the class & w that attitude shouldn't be RN's. Mean spirited people don't belong in this profession, it is hard enough. She is smart, teaches the subject well & most importantly, cares for her students. She is a role model for future RN's
I dreaded coming to this class because it was a complete waste of time. She never actually taught anything. Just did silly group work and gave us a packet of paperwork every class that was worthless. I did well in the class but I had to teach myself everything. She seemed irritable every class and seemed annoyed to answer questions.
Professor Minasyan teaches Intro to Medical-Surgical Nursing at West Coast Univerty, LA campus and does it well. She has relateable stories and is entertaining during her lectures. Most importantly she is there for you when you need to talk. Just do your job as a student and actually put in the effort and you'll find this class enjoyable.
I'm floored that she's the lead instructor for med surg. Her lectures are unclear and confusing. I learned nothing from her. Her tests are full of questions with misspelled words and improper grammar, this makes it impossible to try and understand what she is trying to ask you on her tests and quizzes. WCU needs to hire med surg prof that can teach
I personally love Professor Minasyan. She really cares about student, and her lecture powerpoints really help me when my study throughout the course.
Pr Minasyan is very smart instructor. She always helps her students to be successful. She helps students to learn NCLEX type questions so they will pass their NCLEX board exam first time. She really cares about her students and wants them to read their text books. I really wish that she could teach my next med surg class too.

Professor Minasyan was a good professor. She actually lectures, which is nice because many of the professors at WCU no longer do. She was always willing to answer students questions and made the class very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend her to other students. Be prepared to work hard.
She is working on her Phd, so she expect students to also do a lot of homework. Her test is tough and she's a tough grader. I am not LAZY, I read ahead but this teacher is doing quizzes that is not from the book but as a general Nurse responsibility. It is coming from her experiences. DO NOT TAKE HER!!! You can read, be prepared you will SUFFER!

You will learn a lot in Pr Minasyans class. She will give you her attention and time, answers all the questions and makes you participates in the class. No cell phones are allowed in her class.
Pr Minasyan is strict and challenging. Best teacher at wcu. If you want to learn and be succesfull, take her class and study hard. You need to use Lewis and ATI and answer a lot of nclex type questions. You will enjoy her class.
Professor Minasyan is the best. I wish she taught Intermediate and Advance Med Surg. Her in class lecture/activities are amazing so make sure you listen to her during that. Make sure you actually take notes during her lectures since her quizzes will be based off of her lecture. Good luck!
The most amazing and knowledgeable nurse and faculty so far I had. You will work hard, but will also have a grade foundation for your future. Love her.
Professor Minasyan is extremely nice and knows her material, but she rarely lectures. We mainly did group work and presentations, which were not helpful.
Doesnt really lecture, just talks about useless information. Tests on very specific things from book and even critical thinking based topics ( so there is no way to prepare for it). you can tell she doesnt care.....
She requires your participation in class but her tests are NOT that difficult. Pay attention in lecture and make sure to start reading as the tests are heavily based on lecture and the book. Start reading!

Professor Minasyan really gets right to the point. I did need extra tutoring since for some nursing is completely new. This class is often challenging for a lot of students because it is our first med-surg class. However, if you need help seek it ! talk to classmates, talk to the professor, go to PALS tutoring! this class is passable! you got this!
Professor Minasyan has a lot of experience that she can share. However, she is not very good at giving clear instructions and answering everyones questions. She is also really bad at emailing back. Her class is easy, has super easy assignments and it helps that she's not a tough grader. If you do take her just get ready to be confused most times.
Prof. Minasyan is a good person, but not suitable for the teaching field. None of her lectures correlate to her tests (learn well in NURS 100 and you'll pass this class). She's almost impossible to reach outside of class, she doesn't really answer questions, & she's extremely passive-aggressive. Save yourself the headache, avoid at all costs!
umm I learned nothing in this class. It's an easy good grade but you learn nothing, which is unfortunate. Be Aware, the lectures don't reflect the test. Unnecessary group projects and she kept threatening to fail us for not doing hw or not participating in class. Would not recommend this class.
Horrible professor!!!! Do NOT take her. She contradicts herself so much. All she likes to mention is that she has her PhD. Shes not the best communicator, needs to learn to be more organized. I can honestly say i did not learn anything from this class. Assignments she grades easy but when it comes to taking the test, you need to learn on your own.
Professor Minasyan wants to be great but there are a few things she should work on, very condescending and is not very clear on what is needed. Be sure to know your stuff because she does not like being asked questions. While an easy grader, you won't really learn much if anything. The exams and the lecture do not correlate at all.
Minasyan can be "nice", but I was very disappointed. She is very passive aggressive, and you can not tell her anything. Horrible lectures, reads off ppts, doesn't reply to emails, and has the most ridiculous midterm and final. Be aware, the syllabus states you must get a 76+ on each exam for last assignment to count, lost my A because of that 0.
This course is completely pointless. Professor Minasyan was very rude to the entire class but seemed like she favored the Armenian students. She bragged about her being a doctor and nurse practitioner. She read off the slides instead of explaining. She threatened us to participate. She did not want to be reached for emails or questions. Professor Minasyan is a sweetheart, though she can be intimidating at times. She cares a lot about her students and it shows. Unfortunately, I wouldn't want to take her class unless you like professors who read off of her powerpoints and talks about her achievements to the class all of the time. Midterm and final have nothing to do with the course.

This class was honestly a waste of time. I didnt learn anything and Professor Minasyan is very rude. She reads straight off of PowerPoints and doesnt like being asked questions. Her exams have nothing to do with the lectures and are very random questions. Shes also impossible to reach outside of class. I definitely do not recommend taking her!
Worst professor! Stay away. She doesn't teach anything. She just reads off the ppt and she gets upset when students ask questions. She doesn't provide study guides or any review for the midterm/final. Talks a lot about herself and her accomplishments.
Prof. Minasyan is a great person, as a professor she was great. but I believe this course is just built in a odd way, where I heard from many faculty " you can fail the exams and still pass" Prof Minasyan seems a bit intimidating at first but after the first week shes awesome! So when taking this class just know it doesn't matter who the prof is!

I had the pleasure of taking Dr. Minasyan's class for N110 and passed with an A! Majority of the class is lectures and group projects, which fits perfectly with the point of this class. Highly recommend.
Great Professor
Professor Minasyan was a great professor who genuinely cares about her students. Her lectures can be very long, but she tries her best to keep it interactive. I was extremely scared to start med surg, but she was a delight to have as a professor. Just listen closely to her lectures, go to PALs, and study.
Dr. Minasyan care about your success but she just doesn't show it. Really just read off of slides and had you do group projects all class, still not sure what this class was about. But shes an easy grader and im taking her again. guaranteed A
Dr. Minasyan is a true inspiration to what you can accomplish if you try hard and care. Her passion for her students shine through as she lectures, offering many scenarios and examples of different outcomes and possibilities. I love how she is proud of your success and cheers you on, truly shows her character, Id take ANY class she taught for sure!

She is a caring professor. She listens to the students and encourages them to succeed. You won't feel stressed in her class. She is an easy grader and appreciates your effort to learn. The class is based on weekly assignments and one final exam. Highly recommended.

I loved Dr. Minasyan!! She cares about her students and is very straightforward about everything from day 1. You will not regret taking her, I'll miss hearing her stories I enjoyed having her as my professor.
Although she is a nice person, if you want to learn, this is not the class for you. Her slides are over 300 pages, and she is vague on what she wants you to focus on. You're on your own for that one. She will break you up mid-class and have you present her own slides, contributing to the vagueness. You will start to feel vague
Among one of the worst professors I have come across in my life. She is so rude and doesn't want you to ask questions of any sort. She will be SO vague and expect the entire class to know what she is saying (99% of the time, no one knows what she's saying). She says "do not email me asking questions, i will not respond". Cant imagine her in NURS120
I cannot begin to say enough bad things about this professor. So rude and so unorganized. She doesnt act like a professor at all, and tells you not to ask her any questions in class or send her questions to her email/remind. Most people don't understand her directions and you cant do anything because you cant ask her! She is in the wrong field.
Im not sure why everyone on here is lying. She's SO unorganized. she would show up 15 mins late to class claiming it was traffic from glendale, but i would come from glendale too and it was completely empty and would show up on time. It would take her 20 mins to start to class and get situated, thats 40 mins gone already wasting time. DONT TAKE HER
You will not be able to contact Dr. Minasyan outside of school, but she is a really chill teacher. She does not read her emails or remind texts and she openly admits that. This was just another busy work class. Do the ATI homework, group projects and you will be fine. Most of the class didn't do well on the final and still got A's.

Im going to try and be really nice. Shes a easy grader. As long as you do the ATI assigned modules and assignments you will pass the class. But shes kinda mean, rude, has attitude most of the time, &cant hear for sh!t. She will put you on the spot, will call you out if you missed any assignments in front of everyone and shes extremely unorganized.
Class is passable but you must study ALL of the info provided. She pulls info from all sources (book, pwrpnts, BLAST, workshop quiz, lecture) to make tests. She throws in bits of info during lecture thats not present in any sources, but that info is on test. So you have to paying attention and good notes is important along with reading everything.
Dr. Minasyan is the best Pharmacology professor I have ever had. Dr. Minasyan's lectures are very organized and engaging, which makes the material interesting. She always provides explanations and additional review sessions before exams. I wish we had more caring, respectful, and inspiring Professors like Dr Minasyan. She is so knowledgeable.

Professor Minasyan is incredibly disorganized throughout the course. She asks her students not to contact her with questions after not giving clear instructions. She is snappy and rude if there are questions and her mood will dictate the length and the material in her class. It is not difficult to pass her class, so thats good.

This professor great as a sub in previous course. However, had a not so good experience with her. Classroom was overcrowded, had trouble with ATI for the VERY FIRST TIME. Been at WCU over 1 year no issues whatsover with ATI. She made a huge deal by accusing me of not clearing cache. Went to IT, they confirmed not my laptop. Glitch w network or ATI

What I find valid and respectable about this professor is the amount of time and detail she puts into her slides. On top of that, she's relatable to her students. She may be a little intimidating and strict throughout the term, but you can see how she values and associates herself with her students in a humorous way. It's like tough love! Good luck
yes her tests are hard, yes you HAVE TO PUT IN WORK, but you will learn SO much in her class. she is not an easy A, but if you actually study her slides in depth, you will pass with flying colors. she is the sweetest and truly cares about her students and shows it. she wants us to succeed and will go the extra mile if we just reach out. love her
